I was wondering if anyone knows whether the "french menu" is included on the DP as a TS credit. "the french menu" includes soup, roasted chicken entree and dessert. I believe I have read on other posts that some of the chef menus were included as part of the DP so I'm just curious. I know that under the new dining plan appetizers are not included so I'm just wondering.
Thanks

That menu has changed. It is no longer one set of selections. There is now a list of about three appetizers, entrees and desserts to choose from for a fixed price. And yes, it is available on basic dining, including the appetizer - but you must choose all three courses from the fixed price menu. No substitutions are allowed.

I've seen the menu just last month - the one posted outside the restaurant - but since I didn't intend to get this, I don't know what the choices were.

If on the regular DDP, do you have to order from the fixed menu, or can you order from the menu??

Chef's de France has something called 'The French Menu'. It's like a chef's choice selection. If you order from that part of the menu then you must choose from only those selections (no substitutions), but you do get an appetizer (even on the basic DDP). They have alot of other selections on the menu though that you can also choose from. If you choose from the other selections then you do not get an appetizer, but you can choose an entree and dessert from them.

Le Cellier has the same thing. If you choose from the 'Chef's Favorites' you can choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert, (again no substitutions), but if you want a different entree or dessert then you choose from the rest of the menu and you do not get an appetizer on the basic DDP.

At both Chef's de France and Le Cellier it's the cheaper appetizers, entrees, and desserts on the 'French Menu' and on the 'Chef's Favorites'.

If you want the appetizer covered by the basic dining plan, you must order your entree and dessert from the Chef's Menu selection. On basic dining you can order any other dessert or entree on the menu if you wish, but then you must pay for an appetizer if you want one.

Aubiree is correct -the fixed price menus usually have the least expensive entrees and desserts.

I found this picture of the Chefs lunch fixed price menu (Thanks MickeyNicki):

From reading some of the other dining reviews, it sounds like the dinner menu has the same appetizer (soup) choices and dessert choices, but the meal choices are:

Grilled Salmon
Beef Short Ribs
Macaroni and Cheese

I couldn't find anyone who had had the roasted chicken recently, but that doesn't mean it's not on the menu for sure - I just don't know.

I'm so excited about this because we're going for lunch and DS and I were both planning on this menu, but everywhere I had seen it was just the one choice. Now we can try a variety of things and I was considering just getting the quiche anyways! Woo hoo! :cool1:
