After the hard discussion during the last days I think it is time to focus once more on the good side of DLRP.

This was the most magical moment during our trip. :wizard:

Don't we have the most beautilfull castle in the whole Disney World?

I hope the clouds over DLRP will dissapear soon!

Glad you feel a bit better Marcus!

I can understand the frustrations but I think however the park is handled, DLRP has a certain charm all of its own. I had done WDW before Paris and while customer service isnt quite up there with WDW and sometimes the Park could use a little more love. Paris is pretty and has some great plus points

I am so psyched for my Trip on Sunday whatever happens. Look forward to your Trip report! :flower3:

Here here!

I love the sights, smells, and sounds of the Park. To me, the most priceless thing about it is the look in my DD1's eyes and her face when she takes things in. This coming trip will be even more special as my DD2, while only 15 months when we go, will definately be 'into' it more - she just loves Mickey & Minnie Mouse with a passion and squeals with delight when she sees them :goodvibes:lovestruc To me, those expressions in their little faces are just priceless - the memories are so special

Great pictures Marcus.

I still feel, despite the slipping standards, that we have the best MK park. That's why I keep deciding to go to WDW and then saying that we shouldn't...my overwhelming memory of WDW is that the MK park was not a patch on DLRP and I don't want the wife and kiddies to be disspointed.

For me it is the smell of Main Street and the constant background music that stays in the memory long after the holiday is finished, the friendly faces of the staff and their good customer service (yet to have a bad moment), The general cleanliness of the parks and hotels, the feeling of being in a relatively safe resort for children, The rides and the shows, the mid-afternoon hustle and the quiet of early morning and late evening in the park, the pre-bedtime drink or two in the DLH with the pianist playing a mix of Disney tunes and a bit of Pink Floyd (on one occaison), The souvenier shops, The walk around the lake and the trip to Cafe Mickey, just watching my daughter's face when she meets the characters, the fireworks and also just observing everybody else having a great time.

We have nothing that comes close to this in the UK and are lucky to have it so close, but it comes at a price (especially this year with the pound not doing so well) and yet we still head back as often as we can.

Until we have a bad experience, or the children no longer want to go (as if that would ever happen) or we get priced out of the market then it is our holiday destination of choice. Maybe not every year but most.

excellent pics marcus!!

i am sad that it looks like no more dlrp for us this yr.......... just thinking bout walking onto main street and seeing the castle at the end brings a lump to my throat even now..... the sight of the emporium on the corner, so welcoming....... the look on my youngests face when we walk into fantasyland............. the smile on my oldests face when he sees the parade and joins in singing just like we dreamed it.........

so many memories, and we have been lucky with every trip so far. there is something that makes it feel like ive come home when i get off the bus by the station and know that i can feel, taste, hear the magic and that i am so completely absorbed that nothing else matters other that being at disney, and the sheer enjoyment of all children around - there is no where else u can get that...........

ok, now im sad, i want to go back..............

We love jumping onto a Main St vehicle and of course that first glimpse of the castle is always magical. Oh and we couldn't go without saying hello and goodbye to the dragon.

Great photos Marcus. :goodvibes

I didn't think I'd like the Mickey shapes on the Castle but they don't look as bad as I'd feared they would.

DLRP's definitely the best MK and as for Frontierland ~ it was imagineered to perfection. :thumbsup2

Then Capt - go to California instead. The finest Disney experience in the English speaking world, just wait until the construction is finished at DCA.

Marcus, I understand your sentiments, DLP is the most beautiful designed MK park in the world. The dining options are varied, and the attractions are mainly the best versions on the planet.

Although please consider that some of the negative posts generated are due to a concern that the things that made us fall in love with the place keeps chipping the magic away? That is why we post about them.

But yes, the story telling, the experiences, the artistry, the entertainment quality (at least in the old days) are unsurpased in Europe (except maybe at Tivoli Gardens when it comes to entertainment, food and maintenance). But when the dragon is broken and still open, and you have to explain to crying children why their fav attractions are closed when the rest of the park is open, or you pay more for food with less choices than the previous year, etc. etc. - well it is not surprising the negativity creeps in.

If people truly did not care, they wouldn't waste their time posting. And if we just excepted it, well frankly there would be no insentive for Disney to try harder.

what do I love about DLP? It allows me to pretend I am in a different place or time in the world, with state of the art and artistically amazing surrounds, and quality human interactions. The perfect Disney experience from the 90's offers theme appropriate shopping, dining and entertainment, with highly maintained and cleaned environments. Compared to non Disney experiences, DLP is amazing. Compared to other DIsney experiences, DLP is median, some things better, and some not. And compared to what it was, sadly, it is a shadow of it's former self. The good news of course, is that in many ways, DLP has been on the up and up for the last 3 years. In the mid 2000's, it was really at it's nadir. So I am hopeful.

Great pics, glad there was the upside to the holiday too.

I found DLP excellent and favour it to Orlando for my little one's sake. We stayed at Cheyenne and everything was just next door, I feel there's too much travel involved in Orlando getting around the parks. Also Orlando is packed with more rides and stuff but for our 3 year old I find would be a waste at the moment.

It was great to have Village, and both parks next door to each other. All within a 15 minute stroll.
