Hello all!! This is my first PTR so bare with me! This December my DF and I will be traveling to the World for our Honeymoon! Our travel dates are 12/1-12/6. Soooo excited. It has been a long ride getting to the point where we would be planning our honeymoon, and that may be an understatement! I will give you a little background into our lives! I will post pics later :)

We met back in 2004, in high school ceramics class. It was very "Ghost" like :). We were engaged Dec. 25th, 2007. My ring was in my stocking. Well ever since then, things have gotten, interesting. We have had no less then 10, yes 10 different wedding plans. Everything from traditional church ceremony, to getting married on a cruise ship. We have had ideas that we absolutely love, then once it comes time to tell the families, our excitement bubble is promptly burst. This has happened probably 6 times. Oh how I love in-laws.

Our original wedding plan was an outdoor ceremony in my in-laws backyard. Nope, too risky to do it outdoors, and the logistics are nuts. Then it was the cruise ship. Nope. Hocking Hills. Nope. Carribbean beach. Nope. Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Nope. Courthouse. Nope (?). Traditional church ceremony. Nope (more on why later). Vegas. Nope. FINALLY. Orlando, honeymoon at Disney. YAY!

Now the reason we didnt do the church ceremony. Its a good one. I have a philosophy on weddings. I believe that either you do it up good, we're talking a $50,000 wedding, or you go very simple. There is no in between. So I, not being rich, was planning a very, very simple ceremony. Under $5,000. I went and bought my dress, got some plans ironed out, booked the church, researched caterers, picked out invites, all the details, well most. THEN, my Future MIL decided that she was going to plan the wedding. Yep, her and my DF aunt were going to plan it. And no, they did not want my help or input. That would be silly, considering its our wedding, to ask out input, right?!. MIL was planning the rehersal dinner, planned to serve chicken cordon bleu. I do not, nor does my DF, like chicken cordon bleu. Didnt matter. Its what we were having. UGH! This went on for about 3 months. I completely stopped caring, stopped my plans, and didnt think about the wedding for weeks on end because it upset me so much. Our day was completely hi-jacked. Then came the Vegas plan. Get married and honeymoon in vegas for a few days. Done deal. Dont care if you like it or not.

We thought we were done changing out minds, but the whole time The Mouse was in the back of my mind. So we switched, again, to getting married in orlando, or at the courthouse in our county, havent decided yet really haha, then staying at Disney for a week. We still havent told my in-laws and the honeymoon is booked and paid for haha! It's a shame that our wedding turned me more bitter and spiteful then it should have. I love our plans. love them!

Finally on to Disney. Sorry that was so off topic, but you needed background! We are staying at ASMovies for our honeymooon. We could have gone delux, but decided to save the money and not have to worry about having enough spending money. We are also signed up for the Honeymoon registry thru Disney. Havent registered yet, but we will probably in october or so. Heck who am I kidding, I will probably do it next week! Can you tell I am a planning freak.

I have read my Unofficial Guide probably 3 times, cover to cover. I Looooove that Book!

Ok so in ending this post, I will leave you wanting more!!! The next post will have more details about our trip!! Thanks!!!

Ok so here it is, finally!! I have been much busier then I thought I would be the past 2 days, or this would have been up much quicker! Ok so we are booked Dec 1-6th, ASMO, 6 day passes with PH, and dining plan. WOOOHOOO!!!! But wait, there is more! A week after I booked, paid my deposit and bought my airfare, I recieved an email. FREEEEEE DINING!!!!! SOOO it saved me $450!!! Now I am considering changing my airline txts and staying 2 more days. IF i can get free dining extended, or might just discuss with the DF and see if we can do it anyway and just pay OOP for our meals. We will see but I'm sooooooo excited anyway. Our whole trip (excluding airfare) is only $1051. I'm amazed by that number. I always envisioned Disney being about $5000, at least for even a basic trip.

We had a trip to Vegas planned for Mem. weekend and it fell through so I am super excited to get a vacation, expecially at Disney!!! Ok more to come later about ADR's and such. But in the mean time, any opinions on the passporter planning journal? Thinking of buying one, but I need some feedback. Thanks!!!

Ok so changes!!!! I decided since we were able to get freeeee dining ( i have to add extra e's, its just that good.) we would be able to afford a longer stay. So now insted of Dec 1st-6th, its Dec 1st-8th! And they extended the freeee dining! Im new to the Disney booking business and some places are funny about their deals and changing them after the fact. I'm glad Disney doesnt seem to be! Although paying the $150 change fee thru Airtran did hurt, I def. think it is worth it! I'm saving $560 with the free dining, and we all know that I cannot turn down a deal, or an opportunity for a longer vacation!

Thats all for now, soon I will have my ADR's lined up, even tho i cannot reserve until September, I want to know ahead of time! Also I am looking into a better plan. What days to do what. We know we want to hit every park, DTD (i loooove to shop) and the Prime Outlet Malls (again, shoppping!, oh and if anyone can give me some info about Prime, i would love it!). Also thinking about maybe a day at Universal. Don't really know yet. Thanks guys! I love reading everyone elses PTR and TR's. It gives me something to fill my days. Being a recent college grad who is unemployed until my dental hygiene license gets approved by the state, I get very bored during the day! I have taken to watching the Disney channel to fill my time when I'm not on the DIS!!!

Back again! Sorry for the delay, but not much has changed in the last few days. But there are some ideas i am kicking around for the sheer fact that I have 5 more months and am going crazy! I am now thinking about a moderate or deluxe resort. Now I know I got freeee dining with my Value, and have no clue if I could even bump up to a better resort without compromising my dining deal. Plus convincing my DF to pay more might also be a problem. So I am assuming we will stick with value for this trip. We only planned 6 months out, with 4 months to pay for the trip, so staying cheap is probably our best bet. We will have to plan farther out for those more expensive stays!

I have also been kicking around the idea of a day at Universal. I checked tickets and the website yesterday, but Im just not sure I can go thru with it. It just does not seem nearly as magical as Disney. I did go to Universal on my Wish trip back in 1996, and it was a blast. However, this trip I wanted to be alllll about Disney. On the Wish trip we only has about 5 days in Florida, including travel days. We only got to see the Magic Kingdom (and not nearly all of it), spent half a day at Epcot (I was 10 and did not appreciate it at all!), and never made it to (then) MGM. We spent a day at Universal, and for the life of me I really dont remember anything else. I know we spent a lot of time at GKTW and not much time exploring. I just know that we did not experience even a fraction of what we could have, and it aggervates me that I cannot seem to remember anything! All in all tho, it was a trip of a lifetime, and without the Make a Wish Foundation, my family would never have experienced anything like that. It sparked my love for Disney and my intense desire to one day return on my own terms!

Oh well, in other news, with adding the 2 extra days, I totally forgot that I can choose 2 more ADR's! Now to figure them out! I keep telling DF to go thru my Passporter (just got that last week! love it!) and Unofficial guide to pick out some restaurants he might be interested in, but I have a feeling I will have to choose for the both of us.

Thats all for now, I will leave you with the ADR's I am considering for now! Feedback would be great!!!

Kona cafe (not sure if i found anything on the menu that stands out to me yet)
Tutto Italia (D)
Sanaa (D)
Chef Mickeys (breakfast)
Raglan Road (D)

Picture time! Not our greatest, but it's the only one I can find with both of us in it! DF is doing a lovely squint because of the sun hehe.

More news! In all my excitement to book an extra 2 days i cmpletely forgot about pop warner invading the value resorts for the last few days of our trip. Now I am panicing. Seriously panicing. I have tried to rent DVC points but alas, nothing is available. And I would lost at least 2 nights of free dining if I were to rent points, and I would really like to keep my dining. So I ran some numbers today and decided that we would resort hop on over to AKL for 2 nights. Check out of ASMo on Dec 6th and into AKL until the 8th. I know we will still be exposed to PW for at least one night, BUT I think we can handle it. Now i know I shouldnt judge the PW ppl ahead of time, but I really have not heard anything good about them. Parents are rude, kids are rude, granted my DF and I were teens not too many years ago, we were always polite and mindful of others. Once again, I'm only assuming chaos will ensue, but getting hundreds of teens together in one place can only lead to trouble IMHO. I did go to public high school after all! :lmao: So I will shell out the extra cash and MAYBE surprise DF with this. AHHH!!! who honestly thinks I can pull that one off! HEHE! But I will try, because I know I get annoyed very easily by ppl, but DF, being a police officer, raised by a police officer father and grandfather, and allllll police officer friends, now HE gets beyond annoyed. And I would rather not hear all about it the whole time the PW crowd swarms upon us. Ok thats all for now, hope to have more soon!!!!

Alas! my plans were foiled. I spoke to a WONDERFUL disney rep who explained that I would be paying probably triple what I was already expecting to pay to switch resorts mid-way thru. She was awesome tho as I am super new to planning and didnt realize they treat you as a completely new guest even when you are just heading to a different resort during your stay. Oh well, she also told me that the pop warner isnt too bad (im sure they have to say that tho!) We'll see, and i guess if we hate it when we get there we can figure something else out!

Ok I am finally going to update!

First off, we have a wedding location! I emailed GKTW a while back to ask if it would be ok to have the wedding there. I honestly thought they would say no, and really thought that they would tell me that it was inappropriate to even ask. Well they got back to me and YES! They actually do a few weddings there a year and they are super helpful and awesome. So I called to speak to them and he was rattling off all of these things that they would do and mentally I was seeing $$$$$$. So I stopped him and politely asked if he could give me a ballpark figure and he stopped and said “what”? So I asked again. He’s like “oh I see what you are asking, and everything is taken care of.” Come again. These things don’t happen to me. So I asked “huh?” (very eloquent of me). He explained that since I was a former wish child that everything was taken care of and we didn’t owe a cent. HOLY MOLY! I think I almost dropped the phone. Like I said, these things do not happen to us! So here is what is included: ceremony anywhere on the grounds, pastor to perform ceremony, wedding cake, and he mentioned they were going to try to get a horse and carriage to take us to the wedding location, then around the grounds for my FIL to take pictures. Can you say “unbelievable!”. These people at GKTW are truly one of a kind. Amazing. I still don’t really believe it. We are so excited to be married there since it has always meant so much to my family ever since we were granted The Wish back in 1996.

So now my parents will be driving down, his parents will be driving down, and his brother will be flying down with us. No word on my sisters. Probably not though. Lots of drama there. I am hoping just these people make it down. I think the less the better, so that way we don’t have 20 people we need to keep track of the day of the wedding. I am also trying to find a salon/spa to get my hair and maybe makeup done the morning of. It’s a bit challenging though as we are getting married at 11, and usually the salons do not open until 9. But there is one right down the road from GKTW that looks good, so I might call them up soon and talk about timing everything. I can change at GKTW so that should help as well.

I can make my ADR’s on Wednesday, which also happens to be my birthday! I have a list that I am not 100% on yet. I know we want Le Cellier, but other than that one, I’m not dead set on anywhere else. We will not do character dining as I’m sure my DF would not get into it. But I might give Chef Mickey’s a try. We’ll see what’s available when I wake up on Wednesday to book bright and early! Ok here is the list I have so far:

Le Cellier (D)
Boma (D)
Rose and Crown (?) (D)
Kona (D)
Teppan Edo (D)
Raglan Road (D)
Beaches and Cream (this might end up being OOP for Lunch)
Sanna (D) also unsure.
We also thought about Tutto Italia, but I’m not sold on it yet.

If anything, I will make these and think on them for a few days and try to change. I hope since it is value season we will have some wiggle room with ADR’s and crowds, but since they opened up free dining to the general public I have a feeling that will create some problems. Here’s hoping!

Hmm..i think this may be all for now. I’m hoping that park hours come out right on time tomorrow (sept 1) so I can get to planning our days, but who knows if that will happen! I think we will probably be going to US/IoA with my DF parents and brother on Thursday 12/3, but since it closes at around 5pm, we will probably head to a park with EMH for the evening. We are even thinking about getting the 2park 7 day pass for US/IoA so we could go when we wanted and not have to devote a whole day. We’ll see.

A lot is still up in the air. We are still both looking for jobs. I currently have 3 part time jobs, however, one will be ending at the end of Oct. and another I am not happy with at all. It is a substitute dental hygienist at the office here in my town, but I really feel like im compromising my ethics with some of their policies and I’m not comfortable with that at all. I have an appointment in mid September with an admissions counselor at the University in our town to go over my transcripts. I am thinking about finishing my bachelors since all I graduated with was an associate’s degree. I’m not sure if dental hygiene is what I want to do now that I’m out in the real world. Stinks since I put so much time and money into my degree, but I don’t want to settle for a career I’m not happy with.

Ok that’s all for now, I hope to be much better with updating once park hours are out and I can start making up a good itinerary!

So sorry for the delay, I really have some good excuses though!

-I started my 4th, yes 4th, part-time job this week. :scared1:
-things at home have been, well, interesting.
-I started a 4th part-time job!

So there you have it. I’m a busy gal. I work on a daily basis 2 of my 4 jobs. I’m sure the time will come when I have to work 3 of them in one day, and I am not looking forward to that! I guess we all make sacrifices to feed this Disney habit!

Anyway! I do have some good things for this update. I made my ADR’s last week, on my birthday. I actually got up at 545am just to do it, and didn’t get to go back to sleep because I had a job interview for that 4th job that day as well. Since I got awesome ADR’s, and the job, I would say it was a pretty awesome birthday! :goodvibes

Well December hours came out surprisingly on time around the first. I will say, I am kind of disappointed. I’m not sure we will be able to take advantage of many EMH’s due to our wedding, and perhaps a trip to US/IoA with the in-laws. This has yet to be finalized and I have a feeling we will not be able to afford more park tickets, so we will more than likely scrap this. I did not really plan my ADR’s around park hours, scandalous, I know! So here they are!

Dec 1st (arrival day, around 330 to ASMo)- Yak and Yeti @ 530 pm
Dec 2nd (wedding night) – California Grill at 720 pm, hopefully with a window seat for Wishes
Dec 3rd (this is the possible US day) – Boma @ 540, possibly MVMCP? :santa:
Dec 4th- Teppan Edo @ 650 pm
Dec 5th- Raglan Road @ 7pm
Dec 6th- Le Cellier @ 8pm
Dec 7th- probably CS since we used 2 TS credits for Cali grill

We might just eat at Beaches and Cream on arrival night instead of hitting a park, but we will most likely see how we feel once we get there.

I used the online booking system and it was a breeeeeze! I really liked it. Although I have tried calling for ADR’s, I always prefer using the computer for these things.

I bought 3 disney shirts the other day at Hot Topic that were on sale, however I think 2 of them are going back. They are cute, but I’m not sure I like them after bringing them home. One is tink, one is ariel, and one is alice in wonderland (a movie I have never seen). But who knows, I might keep tink and return just ariel. I go to a doctor’s appointment at the end of October and there is a Disney store in that town, so I want to hit them up to see what they have on sale. I hate to pay shipping charges online when I could get it at the store. Also the instant gratification if bringing it home can’t be beat.

Now that ADR’s are done my next step it working out our days in the parks/ out of the parks. I really wish we could afford a rental car, but with us being under 25, they charge a $25 fee per day on top of the rental fee, so that makes it out of reach for us. We are hoping we can rely on our parents, who will be driving down for the wedding, to take us anywhere we may want to go outside the world.

Places we want to visit outside the world:
Give kids the world village (where we will be getting married)
Prime Outlets (I loooooove to shop)
Any other shopping venue
A restaurant after the wedding with our families

Now to go off topic for a moment. Does anyone want a dog?! Ours is out of control lately. She is half jack Russell/cairn terrier. Insane mixed with psycho. She destroys everything, barks at the littlest sounds, doesn’t listen to a word we say, whines and barks at me when I’m on the computer, cannot be trusted out of her cage alone in the house (she’s 2 ½). I am at the end of my rope with her. I know if I brought up getting rid of her my fiancé would flip out. He thinks she is an angel and doesn’t see what I’m talking about. He is also gone 10+ hours a day and doesn’t have to deal with her constantly. My in-laws would say, because they have before, that if I cannot deal with the dog, how will we ever deal with a child. Well a child is different in my book. Obviously. Sorry for the hijack, I needed to vent!

I think this is all I have for now. Thanks for sticking with me through so many broken update promises. :rolleyes1

I did get some inspiration from MRYPPNS PTR about doing plans in publisher so I'm playing around with that right now. I will let you know what i get together! There aren’t many changes to write about (thankfully!). However, we are very excited to have our trip PAID IN FULL!!:banana::banana: And we did not have to put one cent on a credit card. Trust me, that is a feat in itself! I have started making a list of all the things that need done in the next month and a half.

Take dog to the vet for her shots
Call dog boarder
Arrange travel details with future brother in law for airport
Find a hotel for my parents
Decide on a rental car
Get mousekeeping tip envelopes ready
Order/purchase some Disney clothing (I need some sweatshirts and DFi needs some t’s)
Decide between US or MVMCP
Decide on some ADR’s (possible changes????)
Measure our luggage and make sure is it going to work
-this may not matter if we get the set we want at my bridal shower lol
Make a packing list
Talk to doctor about a mask on the plane (I have cystic fibrosis and all this H1N1 is starting to concern
me lol)
Possibly buy a Vera Bradley backpack in Blue Rhapsody for my park bag
FINALLY get park days organized and convince DFi to finally look at my Disney books to see what his
“must do’s” are

This is all I can think of for now, I’m sure I am missing about 100 things lol. I hope to have some better plans soon. My Bridal shower is Nov. 14th and I am super excited. :woohoo: With all the drama with the wedding and everything, I never thought I would make it to the point of actually having a shower! Thanks for keeping up with me, even though I have no pictures, nor am I very good at updating lol. :sad2:

I want to know what your thoughts are on MVMCP.....
We aren't arriving in time to go but I so wish we were.
We've done the P&P party and loved it, done MNSSHP and loved it.
I can't imagine not wanting to do the Christmas party....

I'm still not sold on MVMCP. I think its a lot of money to be spent on things we could see on a normal day in the park. I've heard it descriped just as "stale cookies, luke warm hot cocoa, and a parade thats a little longer". And being from OH, I've seen snow lol, so that doesnt hold much appeal for me to see snow on main st. I think we will pass this time, I still have to confirm with DFi about it, but i believe the only way we will go is if someone buys us tickets thru our Honeymoon registry. I like the appeal of having the rides open at night, but am a little leary about the crowds playing into it. I know there are people who go every year and have seen all the x-mas things, so now they go for short wait times. As you can see, I'm still torn, but leaning towards no this time. Money is tight and I would rather take the $110 and spend it towards souveniers, or tips for our meals.

Now MNSSHP is a different story! I would def. shell out the extra money to see that!

Hi everyone!

As of Friday we are PAID IN FULL ( I said it before but now its official!), and we are at 44 days! So excited, but sooo much to do! :cool1:

We decided to nix MVMCP ( see why in previous response to Wigdoutdismom), and US/IoA. We are going to take that money and put it towards other expenses. It would pay for boarding our dog for a week, or souvenirs, or tips for meals.

DFi is finally looking through my books and picking out things he wants to do. I started to get really stressed earlier in planning this trip after reading everyone else’s TR’s and panicking because I was not planning to do commando style touring, or planning to hit up everything. We will only have 5 days dedicated to the parks, so we are going to make this trip about what we want to do in the moment. I know we will hit up the big attractions at each park, but I going to try not to freak out about timing, and going specifically to this attraction next and doing this precisely at a certain time. I know I am probably going to be flamed for this, but I feel like this fits our personalities and vacation style best. We have quite a bit of park hopping to do with our ADR’s, and I am ok with that. The only thing I am really planning is what park to go to on each day. After that, it’s up to how we are feeling about each attraction. We are hoping for an awesome bounce back deal and hope to have our next trip booked before we head back to OH! Not seeing everything this trip makes me look forward to more trips in the future!

We babysat for my DFi cousins last night. They are little boys, ages 4 and 2. I was nervous because we have never babysat for them before, I have nephews that age and they are terrible (no really, trust me, they are terrors). And I have been working non-stop lately so I was afraid I would be too tired and cranky to make an effort to have a good time. Wow, was I worried for nothing! They were awesome! Seriously the best behaved I have ever seen them be. They just camped out and watched movies all night.

After such a great experience last night, I came home today and ordered Toy story 1 and 2 to take next time. I don’t know if they have ever seen the movies and if I have to watch movies all night, we might as well watch something we all like! :lmao:

Next up: my packing list, and what have I managed to cross off my to do list???

Great update! Glad DFi is getting into the planning! You have to do the parks how you see fit. If you want to be laid back...it's your vacation...your choice!

Ok so I think I have a few things to share finally! First of all, we got Mickey Mail on saturday! It was our luggage tags from ME! I was so excited and surprised! I didnt think they would come for a few weeks! Then today, MORE MICKEY MAIL! Our custom maps came! I really like these! I'm going to put them in my passporter to keep handy in the parks! Oh and I finally have some pictures! The first is my carry-on and park bag. I am going with a plain back pack because I was thinking that if i got tired of carrying the park bag then DFi could. He would not carry it if it was the Vera in Blue rhapsody that I wanted! :lmao: He is arguing with me about carrying his carry on in the parks. I have no idea why but this caused a mini fight for us tonite. I have no idea why he became so heated about the park bag! Oh well, at least he is finally getting interested in some part of the trip! :rotfl:

This is us digging in the hall closet looking for the bags!
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00284.jpg
(excuse how scary i look, he surprised me!)

Ok so here is a rough (very rough) idea of our days so far.

Tues. Dec 1st: Arrive at Port Columbus Int'l Airport approx 930am
Airtran Flight 7 departs Columbus, OH at 1129am, arriving in Orlando at 139pm. Board ME to ASMo!
Check in, settle in for a few, then head to Beaches and Cream for dinner. (We have a Yak and Yeti ADR that i would be willing to give away)
Walk over to the Boardwalk, or head to DTD. Not sure yet.

Wed Dec 2nd: Wake up at 8am, shower, style hair, apply makeup, have my parents pick us up. Arrive at GKTW no later then 1030am for our 11am WEDDING!!!!! Get hitched (hehe), then take a bazillion pics, have a late lunch with the whole family, then head back to disney. We will probably nap. Or find something else to occupy our time. We are newlyweds afterall...:rolleyes1 (i know i know, TMI!! HAHA). Depending on what time it is, head to MK. Take in a few rides, shops, then head over to the Contemporary for our 720 Cali Grill ADR. I want to see wishes from here!

Thursday Dec 3rd: Magic Kingdom has AM EMH. We will head over for Rope drop (im so clueless, is there rope drop on EMH mornings?), spend the morning/afternoon here. I know my parents will be coming to DTD this day, and we will go with them. I also think they will be heading to the outlet mall i want to hit up, so this day is still up in the air i suppose. I swear, the way things look we will never get to a park!! :lmao: We have a dinner ADR at Boma. My mom has been hinting at MVMCP tickets for us. We put them on our honeymoon registry. I'm still on the fence about the party, but if we get free tickets, we are totally going.

Friday Dec 4th: AK rope drop, spending as much time as we can here. I'm really looking fwd to AK. It wasnt even built yet when I was at disney the last time! Lunch at Flame tree BBQ. Back to the resort to rest up. Dinner ADR at Teppen Edo, Evening EMH at Epcot, Illuminations at 930pm.

Saturday Dec 5th: DHS EMH, rope drop. Spending the day here. I believe this is the only scheduled day here so far. Also did not visit this park on previous trip. ToT here I come! Back to the resort to relax, find somewhere for lunch (have not heard good things about CS in this park, we may boat to BW or BC, no idea yet), Dinner ADR at Raglan Road in DTD. Then, we shop till we drop.

Sunday Dec 6th: MK rope drop. Doing whatever we want today! I would really like to hit up Tom Sawyer island to look for paintbrushes! This could end up being a resort hop day as well, i know i really want to see the gingerbread house at GF, and I would love to see the trees at WL. We have a dinner ADR at Le Cellier. DHS has EMH tonite, but our ADR is at 8pm so I doubt we will make them.

Monday Dec 7th: Last full day :sad1: AK has EMH so we will probably head over to check out anything else we didnt get to do. Epcot will also be a good posibility. We do not have an ADR for today since we used 2TS credits at CG. Most likely we will have CS. I think MK may have evening EMH tonite as well but i didnt write them down? If they do, I know we willl head over for those. I would like to catch Spectro if it is going on. And of course wishes in front of the castle woldnt hurt!

Tues Dec 8th: Departure day. Leave ASMo around 930 for 12 flight back to OH. Boo. :sad1:

I have a feeling every evening we can spare will be spent in DTD. Well at least thats where I will be spending it! :rotfl2:

My parents actually decided to fly down now. They are on our flight. :cheer2:
Im so glad. Now its going to be me, DFi, BIL, and my mom and dad flying down on Dec 1st. DFi's parents are still driving and I was informed by my mother (not even HIS mother!!) that my DFi's aunt is now coming. Nice that the bride is informed huh! Oh well, at least I like his aunt! I believe some of his family from the Tampa area may be coming up as well. I have met them once, and couldnt pick them out of a crowd if you asked me to. Oh well, I just shook my head and smiled when she told me.

My bridal shower is in about 2 weeks! Sooooo excited! I was able to find a dress today at Kohls for $17! The necklace i bought to go with it was more expensive! Here it is!
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00287.jpg

It goes perfectly with a pair of shoes I already have.

As far as my to do list goes:
-I talked to the doctor and I do not have to wear a mask on the plane. he said they are only good for about 30 mins anyways (moisture from breathing makes the pores in the mask bigger defeating the purpose after awhile) so yay!
-I am calling the vet tomorrow to get the dog in for shots
-calling the boarder tomorrow for the dog (wooohooo its my favorite call!)
-plan to start the packing list tomorrow
-talking to the BIL about travel arrangements to the airport now that my mom and dad are flying with us
-the airtran luggage measurements were raised so our checked bag will def. work for us (another yay!)

A question: Are the Disney gift cards widely accecpted in WDW? My parents were concerned that a gift card might not be wise in case we wanted to use it for meal tips, or any specialty store at DTD perhaps. Just curious if anyone could answer this. Like I have said many times, I am NOOOOO Disney expert (yet :thumbsup2).

Today I also went to Hobby Lobby. Wow. I wish I were crafty. I was hoping ot make a planning journal to put on the cake table at the shower so everyone could see it. Well lets just say that I am not craft, I do not have at least $100 ( i swear thats how much it would cost me!), and I got super overwhelmed at all the choices! I really wish I already had some of the scrapping stuff, but i would be starting from scratch and didnt want to drop that kind of cash. And i would probably never use it again! :lmao:

Next: I swear, I'm going to check things off my to-do list!

I know! I had a really hard time finding anything to wear. It seems all the dresses these days look like fancy potato sacks! no shape whatsoever! I had to hit up the juniors section for this one. Thankfully it goes with shoes i already have, that was my goal!

And yes, we will be in AK on friday! I am def. going to make DFi wear his honeymoon mouse ears, whether he likes it or not! I'm hoping they will get us a little extra pixie dust....:thumbsup2

Your gift card will be fine - it should be accepted everywhere that can accept credit cards or room keys.

Also, if you get rid of your Yak & Yeti dinner the first night, you have a free TS credit... I was going to say breakfast the last day, but I think you're leaving too early in the morning.

You got engaged your sophomore year of college? I may be sending my boyfriend a link to this thread........ :rolleyes1

I'm joining it on the fun! How exciting, you're getting married and honeymooning in Disney. I've never seen GKTW but I have donated scrapbook pages, supplies, books and handmade autograph books through a yahoo Disney swap group I belong to. My daughter Michelle has a friend who went there when she was in grade school.

My oldest went to Disney in June for his best friends wedding. It was very small but nice and they had a great time. Our gift for the couple was part of their dinner at Cali Grill.

How old are you? I'm thinking you're about by son's age.

I hope you get those tickets. I don't know if I would pay to go either but I wouldn't turn down free tickets either.

Just a mini-report for you all!

-Took the dog for her shots today, so she is allllll ready for the boarder!
-Called the boarder and got a price quote ($13/day not too shabby), and just called to book her for Nov. 30-Dec 8th.
-Tonight we are going to go look for a larger memory card for my camera and possibly a spare battery
-contacted a seamstress to fix my wedding dress (I decided to break the zipper while trying it on a few weeks ago) so she is going to fix it!

Exciting huh? Well, not really, but I promise next week I'm starting on my packing list! :)Have a Happy Halloween and a great weekend!

Me too! I finally started a wal-mart list, that way we can pick stuff up over the month insted of getting it all at once.

Now I'm thinking about doing a garden Grocer order. Or just packing stuff in the suitcase, then using the extra space from our food to bring home souvineers. Thoughts?

I agree with the MVMCP comments, thats how Ive been thinking all along. I might talk to my mom and make sure if she wants to get us a gift, we would prefer something else.

Im going to talk to DFi tonite about GG, I know I would like some breakfast items since i dont want to spend my CS credits on breakfast everyday. Since we will have a fridge in the room, maybe some drinks too!

Yes, I have been pouring on the hand sani lately! My poor hands are so dry but its worth it not to be sick! (knock wood) I'm VERY lucky to be healthy (havent been in the hospital since '03) so I'm hoping my streak holds (at least until we get back! :lmao:)

Woohoo! I have lots of pictures for this update. Being partially unemployed frees up lots of picture taking time! :lmao:

First, here is what I got crossed off my to-do list"
-dog is all taken care of however, our return flight is now getting in crazy late, and has a layover in ATL when it was suppossed to be non-stop, so I believe I will have to add an extra night to the boarder. Ugh more money!
-headed to Walmart and purchased 90% of our travel needs
-DFi's parents have been informed about a special circumstance pertaining to the wedding (I cant go further with this, but lets just say i was very concerned this would be a deal breaker and they would not come to the wedding anymore. All is well though, and I had nothing to worry about afterall :goodvibes)
-I ordered pictures from shutterfly.com (love it!) for my bridal shower
-ordered a homemade candy tray for the shower, pick up date is Nov. 13th (friday the 13th :scared1:)
-purchased black strapless bra for the wedding

Here is a photo of my "Disney Bin" this is where anything for the trip is going for now. it looks kind of empty, but to me, it looks great!
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00301.jpg

Here is the long awaited picture of my wedding dress! The dress is on the left, and the shirt that i plan to wear to our Cali Grill ADR on our wedding night is on the right. The dress is strapless and above the knee, it poofs out slightly and is super fun. The little "dots" you see are large sequins and "dangle". very fun!

Coach shoes, I purchased them at TJ MAXX

Here are the shoes for my Bridal shower (ignore the poor quality!!)

and the back of the alice shirt..
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00303.jpg

I'm pretty sure I will take all 3, but not sure if the weather will allow me to wear them. I purchased tide packets (99 cents at walmart) for laundry, and will be taking a few downy sheets i have here at home. I want to pack very little so we will have room for purchases to bring home. We still plan to only check one large suitcase, but if we have to I can ask to borrow a suitcase from my grandparents probably.

Here are things I still need to do:
-DFi needs a shirt and tie for the wedding. No suit, I just want him to be comfortable and casual.
-my hair gets trimmed the morning of my shower (its been since march that Ive had my hair cut! :eek:Been trying to grow out an awful haircut that i got last october!), and I am going to take my birdcage veil to see if my hair stylist can give me some style tips since i will be doing my own hair/makeup for the wedding
-I am still on the hunt for some shirts and outfits to take. I really wish i knew what the weather would be like! Im planning on t's, long sleeve shirts, and a softshell spyder jacket with thin gloves for the mornings/evenings. In the "disney bin" I also have my ear muff 180's just in case.
-pick up a couple good books for the airport/plane. We have a 4 hour layover in ATL now that I am furious about. we paid for a non-stop and thats what we wanted! But there is nothing we can do, so we will have to deal with it. Im just nervous because we are new flyers, so I am afarid of being lost in the HUGE ATL airport.
-still figure out airport arrangements. We will probably have to drive ourselves now since we will not get back into columbus until 1030pm on dec 8th, and we live 2 hours from the airport. We cant expect family to come get us that late. so figure in more money to park the car.

That's all I have for now. Hopefully the rest of my list gets done in the next week or so :)

ATL is big, but it's all linear, and they have a shuttle to take you from terminal to terminal. I suggest though, as soon as you get off the plane, check the departures board to make sure your gate didn't change - they like to do that a lot.

http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00302.jpg
and the back of the alice shirt..
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00303.jpg

OMG, I love the shirts you got from Hot Topic! And I love your dress. You must be getting so excited because it's getting close.

Thanks! I found all the shirts on the sale rack so I think they were around $38 for all 3! We are soooo excited! I keep thinking about how much I still have to do, but we are so ready for this! I love my dress too, it is actually a prom dress. I have the big white wedding dress, but its not me, or my style and I have no clue why i bought it. :confused3 So if you know anyone who needs a wedding dress, I can hook them up! :lmao:

ATL is big, but it's all linear, and they have a shuttle to take you from terminal to terminal. I suggest though, as soon as you get off the plane, check the departures board to make sure your gate didn't change - they like to do that a lot.

Thanks for the tip! I'm really frustrated because I was really liking the idea of non-stop. But oh well, at least we have a long enough layover that we wont feel rushed and like we will miss our next flight.

Another mini update! I know you all love them so....:rotfl2:

-FINALLY got airport transportation figured out! My parents will be driving all 5 of us to the airport. My DFi and I will be picked up on Dec.8th by his parents (he asked, I refused to ask them to pick us up so late, but if they are willing, im allll for it!:thumbsup2) BIL will be picked up by his aunt and uncle on Dec. 4th, and my parents will drive themselves home. I will be giving them some money towards parking their truck at the airport, unless my sister can come get the truck and park it at her apt. complex. we'll see what her work schedule is.

-You know how i mentioned that DFi's aunt is coming and no one felt the need to tell me? Well they didnt tell us because it was suppossed to be a surprise! :scared1: So of course DFi says something to his dad and he gets a little angry that we know. AND DFi's cousins from GA will be coming. So thats an extra 7 people coming that we would have had no idea about, and not been able to inform GKTW about. So I'm glad we know. I can at least make arrangements now with GKTW. I can't believe they were just going to show up! Kinda makes me a little annoyed, but it was all done with good intentions so that makes it better. I'm just glad everyone who wanted to come, is able. I guess :lmao:

-We dont have to add an extra night for our dog at the boarder! BIL is going to pick her up, take her to our apt. and stay with her until we get home from the airport on Dec. 8th. Yay for an awesome BIL! :goodvibes

-Here is a photo of my lime green mickey head I will be sporting at WDW!

So I'm just here to vent about work today.

I have 3 P/T jobs currently. One I hate, but since i work with my mom, we generally have no problems and work out our schedules really well together. So this job is not causing any problems :thumbsup2

Second, I am a sub at a dental office as a Dental Hygienist (my career field), the office i work in is awful. I chose this office as my "dream job" because I have been a patient there my whole life, knew the staff, and it is a very high-tech and up to date office, which can be hard to find around here. But let me tell you, the staff are awful after you are on "the other side". The dentists wife runs and practice, and she is well, lets just say a few crayons shy of a full box. She is certifible. She has a voice like a 4 year old and it cuts through me everytime she talks to me. Here is an example of not only her craziness, but her awful personality. She is not a good person.

-she brings me into her office one day and talks to me about being hired at the hotel (my 3rd job). She isnt happy that I have found another job, but I tell her that since they dont offer benefits that I really need, then the hotel will have to work because that could eventually turn into full time with a benefits package. So I'm keeping it. She then proceeds to ask what im being paid, crunches the numbers and tells me i could make more in 2 weeks of working at the Dentist then I could working full time at the hotel. Ok, I get that, but still I NEED INSURANCE! So then she goes on and on about how sorry she feels for me and she knows my family has always had to struggle to make it and I have never had anything handed to me and how hard of a workers I am. (at this point I am in tears. yes what she is saying is true, but it takes some nerve to put it out there like that). She says how they are giving me the op to work for them because I have always been a patient and how poor I must be because I am a recent grad and cant find any full time work and on and on and on. So then I lose it, completely break down. And in the process fall right into her plan of making me feel awful about "turning my back" on dental hygiene. Ugh. :sad1:

So this office is not where I want to be. Frankly I would like to tell them to shove it when they call me. But I need the money, and they know that, so there is nothing I can do at this point. They are playing me like a fiddle. They are also under paying me by about $5 an hour. double ugh!:sad2:

Now on to job #3. The hotel. I clean rooms, or I clean the hotel itself. I only trained to be houseman (clean the hotel) if the scheduled houseman did not show up i could fill in. Now all of a sudden, I'm being scheduled as houseman! It wouldnt be so bad if the shift (7am-1pm) was shorter, or not so early. Because well, some days, I am done with my work before 10am. So then I have to stand around looking kinda busy for 4 more hours. Frustrating to say the least. THEN I am having issues with the days i am a room attendent. We each get a clipboard with assigned rooms. I am pretty fast (i can do a room in under 40 mins, typically), so when I am done if they wont send me home then I go around and help out the other girls as much as I can. i have even been known to take rooms from them to help out, generally I just help them in whatever rooms they are working on. BUT do you think that I ever get any help in return. NOPE. Sure it has been offered (maybe twice), but never followed up on. I even had one woman follow me to my last room to help me, but the guests werent out yet. So 10 mins later I go back, I can start cleaning, and hmmmm she is noooowhere to be found to help. And she only had to do 2 rooms that day. I did 5 full rooms and 2 stayovers (guests still in rooms). Frustrating to say the least. Our manager has no business managing, she can't make our room assignments even (since when is 6 and 3 the same number?!) and she has no idea what is going on most of the time. Trust me, If i were manager (dont we all have this fantasy! :lmao:) I would make assignments equal, and when one person was done, i would keep track of who they were helping and make it more even.

Sorry, I had to vent. I had such a frustrating day yesterday at the hotel I wanted to scream. And now the dentist office is yanking me around this week, so thank goodnesss our Disneymoon is 3 weeks away and my bridal shower is saturday! :worship:

forgive me, i'm jumping in here late.
i completely understand with all the wedding stuff... we were in the same boat of whatever we choose someone will be unhappy. so eventually we decided to make ourselves happy and got married on the beach. we just told our parents afterwards. so good for you!

Me too! I finally started a wal-mart list, that way we can pick stuff up over the month insted of getting it all at once.

Now I'm thinking about doing a garden Grocer order. Or just packing stuff in the suitcase, then using the extra space from our food to bring home souvineers. Thoughts?

we did a combination of both- we used garden grocer for things that would get broken in travel or were very bulky or heavy (sodas, water, chips) and brought everything else in our suitcase (100 cal packs, coffee, nuts, etc)

you and dfi may be able to get your clothes in one suitcase, but i'm not sure if you can get everything. what are you using for carryons? you each get an allotment of one carryon and one personal item. i always take a backpack or tote as my personal item- much more room then a purse. i also packed one of those reusable totes into my suitcase- i needed some additional room for the return home and it was perfect. saved me from wearing jackets on the wayto the airport at 90degrees. plus a bit of room was left for the goodies i bought. i also saw tons of people carrying the shopping bags you get at the parks. so i'm not sure how "by the book" the airport actually is.

Welcome!! Ugh I'm really excited, but wanting it to be over at the same time (doesnt that sound horrible!)

I am taking a rolling carry-on that i know i can fit quite a bit in. change of clothes, meds, and a few more things. I'm not sure of DFi plans. He saw a backpack he likes, but it doesnt appear to be that big, so that may change. The more I think about it the more I think we may need to check another bag. I really do not want to, BUT I want to make sure we have enough room to being home things and truthfully, buying and checking a 2nd bag would be cheaper then paying the overweight bag fees! I believe we will just be packing food. DFi wasnt so hip on the garder grocer order for this trip. We are really trying to be budget minded since my work hours have been cut drastically from the dental office, which was my big money maker. So budget alllll the way this time! I think I may take my black pack pack (pictured in previous post) as my personal item. I can get at least another change of clothes in there, and i might even stick meds/liquids in there. We'll see. :)

Hi everyone. Let me first say....

:cheer2:3 weeks!!!!:cheer2:

Ok now that I have that out of my system, I can continue! hehe!

Today I broke down and bought a new suitcase to take. I decided after inspecting the one we have that it would just not be big enough. Yes, we could make it work, but I would be very limited on the amount of items we could bring back, even if we do laundry while we are there. So to make it less stressful I just decided to check 2 bags. Here is my new suitcase. I found it at TJ maxx for $70. It is pink and one of the ones that is hard all around. I hope it makes it thru the airport ok!
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00309-1.jpg

I plan to have DFi pack in our original suitcase, and I will pack in the pink one. That way we can both have enough room to bring what we want. I plan to (hopefully!) leave both about half empty to have room to bring things home.

As my mom and dad are flying now I am having a tough time getting my mom to understand why she can only pack certain things, and her suitcase has to weigh under 50lbs.:sad2: She doesnt get what I say when I mention my carry on, or a checked bag. It is very frustrating! I get it because she hasnt flown since 1996, so there are lots of changes, but i can only explain it so many times! I think I am just going to have her come down to our apartment so I can show her all of our luggage so she can get an idea of what size a carry on can be and what to do with liquids and such. I havent flown since 1996 either, but at least I can get on the net and figure out these things!

I have to work tomorrow and thrusday half days at the dental office. I am really dreading it. There was some drama lately with an empolyee who was fired (it was my cousin, she was completely screwed over by the office. they fired her while she is still under a medical leave by the doctor, completely wrong and probably illegal.) and I hope that I am not brought into it. I am totally on my cousins side, but the office doesnt need to know it. I plan to keep my head down and if I am questioned, play dumb!:lmao: I only agreed to work these 2 days because disney is coming up and this is probably the only opportunity I will get to work before we leave. Disney may be the only thing that keeps me going...

Woohoo for my bridal shower being on saturday! :woohoo: I am super excited for it! I really just want to see everyone who comes (i think i have posted about this before lol). I talked to my hairdresser and she said it was def. ok to bring my birdcage veil for us to play around with when I get my hair cut. She actually gets married Nov. 21st and she wanted a BC veil so she is really excited about it, making me super excited too! Friday starts things off with me working 7-1 (grr i hate that job!) then running home, changing, then heading to Sams club with my sister who is coming up from Columbus, OH for the weekend. We are doing the shopping for the shower since my mother will be nannying (like the new word there haha!) and won't be able to come with us (she isnt 100% yet). We have to pick up the cake, and pick up a candy tray I ordered as well. I have a feeling its going to be a really busy, but a really good day as well. I love hanging out with my sister, and I really hope my mom decides to join us.

Enough off topic ramblings for me tonight! Have a great Veterans day everyone! :goodvibes

Thank you! My DFi and I rode the same bus in elementary school, but never really "met" eachother until we had class together. We will be together 6 years this Feb!

Thanks for the weather tip, that is the one thing that has been bugging me! I just need to know what to pack haha! But coming from OH where the weather has been pretty up and down, I think i have a general idea, I just dont want to get there and be totally unprepared and have to shell out money for the right clothes!

I know! We are so excited to be able to go back to GKTW, and what better excuse then a wedding! I'm still not sure where the actual ceremony will happen, there have been so many changes since 1996 that I cannot even begin to try to figure it out from memory! I know there is a chapel, and correct me if I am wrong, but there is a fountain in front? I think that would be nice, or maybe in front of the new playground, tooooo many choices! I am going to wait until we get there and walk around with DFi and see what jumps out at us!

What you can't "see" is what you FEEL when you are there. You are surrounded by these huge villa's that look like castles...and the big playground is in the middle...It is the most magical place on earth. Tops the MK. Tops the MK on the Hub during Wishes. It is my favorite man-made place on earth.

Finally, my Brial Shower Update!

It was an awesome day. DFi and I woke up and got breakfast at McDonalds. We planned on going somewhere else, but I knew we would never get ourselves out of bed on time to eat and make it to my hair appt, so Micky D's it was. It was really good, sometimes I forget how much i love their rubbery pancakes! :lmao: We headed my hair appt which was desperately needed since I had not had a haircut since march. We played with my veil and she gave me some really good tips. I am still debating on getting my hair done the morning of the wedding, because I was not blessed with the gene that allows me to style my hair. I'm a pigtail/pony tail gal! After the hair appt we rushed back home because I only had about 20 mins to get dressed and do my makeup before I had to head to the shower to help out. Here is me helping:
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00316.jpg
I look like I'm being super helpful right?! Haha there actually wasnt much for me to do once I got there. DFi dropped me off and stayed for a bit before making himself some lunch and heading out.
Here are some pictures of the shower before guests arrived.

I have no idea why he thought this would be a good angle. I look like king kong! :rotfl2:

It was also a really good turn out. We had about 40 people there, which was much more then expected. There would have been more but our hometown highschool had a tournament football game at 1pm so that took away about 5 people, and also the Ohio State game was home in Columbus so my aunt and cousin had tickets and went to that (i would have chosen the game too!) But all in all we had a really good time. People were very generous with their gifts. Here is a pic of most of my gifts after we brough them home. There are a few things missing.

this is the tank top my sister made for the honeymoon! How adorable!
http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00367.jpg
Here I am with my mom and sisters! Our first picture together in a very long time. :)

After I opened all the gifts i called DFi to come and help with clean up and loading the cars. His grandmother took this opportunity to corner both of us seperately and state that she was very upset that we were not having the wedding here and they could not come. His grandpa is very sick and would not be able to travel even if they could come. This is not the first time they have guilted us over it, and I am sure it will not be the last, after all, we still have over a week before we leave!:rotfl: She also then took issue with the fact that I am not wearing a white wedding dress. I have a white wedding dress, but it is not my style and I dont want to wear it. So thats exactly what I told her. I said "I have a white dress, but Im not wearing it. I dont like it, its my day and I am wearing what I want to wear." Then I turned on my heel and walked away. I am very tired of everyone questioning our every decision about the wedding down to what I am wearing. I'm ready for the whole thing to be over.

THEN my MIL decided to take it upon herself to promise the grandmother (which is her mother, see the similarities!) that I would wearing my wedding dress to the reception. Well I believe that is my decision, and I hadnt really given a whole lot of thought to it. But now I guess I am wearing my dress, because i was put on the spot and sputtered that of course I would be wearing it, just to make her happy. I'm glad this happened after the shower because it would have put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I went home and prompty told DFi that I didnt appreciate the grilling and thats when he told me she did it to him too. I have one thing to say about it. GET OVER IT! Ugh! isnt this what pictures are for, so everyone who isnt there can see!

But I did have a lot of fun and got some wonderful gifts. I wasnt expecting the generosity as we are not having the wedding here. BUT we got all the gifts, plus (forgive how tacky I am about to be) $675 in cash and $180 on our disney honeymoon registry. I know its tactless to post that, but I feel confident that no one is going to tell my mother lol. This takes a huge weight off my shoulders because before the shower we literally had no money to take for spending at disney. My work situation has taken an interesting turn and I am not getting many hours, plus DFi has some things to figure out with his job situation, so we are living very much pay check to pay check right now. This puts us very very close to my secret goal of $1000 in spending money to take to disney that I set for us back when we booked the trip. I believe we will meet that goal if we both put just a little more money with it and I cannot be happier!

I finally started my packing lists the other night. DFi was playing video games in the living room so i camped out in the bedroom watching Dancing with the stars and started my lists. I have 3: packing, carry-on packing, and things to do before we leave. I even started filling my suitcase with t-shirts and things that I know I will not need before we leave. We only have a few more things to buy: ponchos, shaving cream, razors, and sunscreen (which I am going to have to order online I think). We have to notify our upstairs neighbors that we are leaving (there have been break ins in the area and we want to be extra cautious), along with giving our friend who is a police office a key so he can check up on the place.

We have a few other things to do, but I am actually feeling really good about or lists. DFi did look at me like I was crazy for starting this early, but I have a feeling that I will have to pack for him to avoid the last minute rush to get him packed and ready to go :headache:

Up next: how much is checked off the list, and will we ever get it all done?

Wow, I just finished reading through your pre-trip report and I am weeping...

First of all, congrats!!

It is my son's blog that maroo posted the link to in the post above. There are lots of other pictures on the blog too. I am sure lots has changed since you were there on your wish trip.

How wonderful that you are getting married at GKTW. It holds such a special place in my heart too, and what better place to say your vows. :lovestruc I would have never thought of a wedding there, but that is just so very perfect!! We are planning a visit back the same week that you are there.

I can't wait to see wedding pictures!

I read your blog awhile ago, and cried my way through it. You are a very stong person and I admire you and your families strength. Like I said, I am an extremely healthy person with CF, and I thank God everyday. I know it could have very easily gone the other way and I could be on a transplant list right now.
Thank you for sharing your pictures. I had a very hard time finding any. The GKTW site doesnt have many. I never thought of doing the wedding there, but my mom insisted we try. So we did and they have been super. We cannot wait! I hope you enjoy your visit, and if you see a wedding going on, feel free to crash it! :thumbsup2

So wait, are you wearing the dress you want, or the wedding one? It's your wedding, you can do whatever YOU want to do.

Is it possible to take some photos in the white wedding dress at some point (doesn't even have to be at the real wedding) to appease GMIL? You don't have to if you don't want to (I don't know if I would), but you don't seem as vengeful as me. :rotfl:

I'm wearing the black and white dress I posted awhile ago, and i refuse to take pics in the white one just to please her lol. I thought about it, but nope, not gonna. Sorry you are stressing about all the comments about what you wear to the wedding / reception. It is your day and you need to wear what makes you most comfortable. You are going to have a wonderful time! I can't believe how close your wedding is. Yeah!

I am really looking forward to your return TR! Its going to be a great read.

Her making the comments really confirms my decision to have the wedding away from home. Can you imagine dealing with her the day of!?!?!

It's funny you mention my TR, my DFi just asked me what I was going to do with myself after our trip and didnt have any reason to be on the Dis "for 6 hours a day". I prompty replied "I have to write my TR!". Then he returns with "well what about when that is done". Me: "well then we will be planning our next trip so really I wont have anything to worry about!" He didnt say anything after this comment! :lmao:

I plan to ignore them forever. However, I have a feeling that once we get home, my DFi will have to hear allllll about the things they say to me!:lmao:

Yeah for packing time! As for in laws- I believe it's important to stand your ground from the beginning. If you think it's bad now just wait until you throw kids in the loop. It's hard for some to give up control when they are used to having it. And our generation is different from grandmas. It's perfectly fine and perfectly normal to wear something other than white.

Oh yes, I am learning to stand my ground, I just wish I would have started earlier. I dread (well from this view) kids, ours will be the only grandchild for my in-laws (for health reasons we can only have one child, and BIL is gay so we are almost 100% that he will not have children, could happen i guess?!) so im sure they will be super involved. again, not a bad thing, but I dont know if i can handle MIL all up in my business all the time haha.

I love my black and white dress. It is fun and has personality as opposed to a plain ivory dress that everyone wears.

:banana:11 days!!

I believe tomorrow I can check us in online and I think I will as I need to request a fridge for medical reasons, so hopefully checking in early gives me a good chance of getting one (hows that logic haha!)

As I have been packing things the last few days I realized that I was lacking nice clothes. I work all summer at an ice cream stand and really didnt buy anything because i knew it would be ruined. So i pretty much have t-shirts from either high school or ones our class made in dental hygiene school. Not the greatest wardrobe. So i went to Macys on tuesday and bought 2 tommy hilfiger shirts for $16, then bought a shirt at kohls for $6 that I can wear to dinner.

Crisis averted. Nope. I then was looking at my suitcase, and all the summer clothes I had packed away, and realized that I don't have one pair of shorts to take. I havent purchased a pair of jean shorts in years, I typically wear the "sweat pant" style shorts in the summer, and really dont have any in neutral colors. So today my mission was to find shorts. Well I scoured our whole mall (not much of a challenge) and only found shorts at ONE store. PacSun. I was able to find 2 paris of jean shorts, 1 pair of khaki shorts, and 2 shirts (not sure that i am taking the shirts). All of this for only $18!! The shorts were $2.50 a pair, and the shirts were $5. :yay: That's my kind of shopping!

I also ordered an 8gig memory card for the camera, DFi decided not to take his laptop so i went with a bigger card. I told DF he will have to tone it down with pics since we wont have anywhere to dump them during the trip! He said he thinks he can.:confused3

I had to order sunscreen off the internet too. Our walmart has sunscreen, but I really like the Bullfrog brand, and I am super sensitive to the sun, so i want to stick to what I know works. Had to buy a 2 pack for $20 but thats ok, I can always use it next summer. I bought a book to read on the plane as well. I have really gotten into the "cadogen house vampire novels" by Chole Neill. I really really really never read these kind of books, but with my intense love of "twilight" and "True Blood" (along with charlene harris's books) I guess i have found a new genre. I laugh and tell people I had to find something to read because it feels like I have already read the entire library in my town! :rotfl2:

My packing seems pretty much done, for now, even though I know at the last minute I will be freaking out double checking everything. I did have to explain to DF today that he needed to take anything he needed right away in his carry on because we wouldnt have our luggage right away. He didnt get why, and I explained that ME would take it and it would be a little bit of a wait before we got it. He still seems confused lol.:lmao:

That's all for now! Hopefully this weekend will bring lots of good things: A win for the Buckeyes! (GOOO BUCKS!), a win for my high school football team in the regional finals (GO BULLDOGS!), a day at work tomorrow that I dont want to scratch my eyes out ( I am really tempted to be a terrible worker and call off, man I hate the houseman job at the hotel!), a great semi-relaxing weekend before the holidays kick off and our trip scrambling begins! Have a great weekend everyone! :goodvibes

And Kohls - well say no more.....all of the clothes I am pictured in in my TR are from last years summer markdowns. Seriously, I got most of the shorts I'm wearing for like $3.50. Hah! :rotfl:

I love to shop! Kohls is hit or miss for me, sometimes i feel the juniors dept is too young for me, and the misses dept is too old. Yet, sometimes I find some great deals! Thats where I got my beloved Keurig  The Buckeyes won, however I believe the Bulldogs lost their game tonite, but it was aganist a very good team, a team who decided to drop down a division just so they could go to state (IMO, cheaters)

http://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00496.jpghttp://i956.photobucket.com/albums/ae50/disneymoon09/DSC00497.jpg

I went from not having very many things to take, to possibly having too many! I'm going to have to edit my choices and only take what I really like. I would still like to do laundry while we are there. The weather has been in the high 70's lately, so hopefully it stays that way! I would really like to swim, but most of all, I dont want to roast, or freeze!

My DFi asked me the other night if we had any ADR's for our last night, and I reminded him that we didnt because we used 2TS for Cali Grill. Well he all of a sudden decided that he wanted to eat TS on our last night. :headache: I informed him that I had woken up at 545 am at exactly 90 days out (which was my birthday haha) to make our ADR's and he had very little chance of getting something only 2 weeks out. Well I said I would try but didn't make any promises.

Before work I scoured the online ADR system looking for something, anything for dinner. No dice. So i went and tried Sanna first. I really wanted an ADR here to begin with, but never made one at 90 days out because DFi never expressed interest. So I had tried several times and never could get one to work with our other ADR's or park days. Finally, I checked for lunch, with little hope. And ta-da! 1:40pm on Dec 7th! WOOHOO!!! So I double checked with DFi that lunch would be ok, I double checked out park schedule, and this works out perfectly! SOOO EXCITED! I reallly wanted this ADR and after hearing great things from other TR's, I am so glad we got it!

I went back to the mall with my mom and dad saturday night, they needed to do some trip shopping, and I just wanted to tag along. As previously posted, my mom found some great deals at Macys, and my Dad found some shoes for the wedding. We also went back to PacSun after my mom heard about the great deals I got. She purchased me another shirt, and my DFi some shorts for the trip. I purchased my DFi 2 shirts, a T, and new polo. All 4 purchases came in under $15! I made sure I told everyone about their deals, personally I have not bought something that was not on sale in years! I love a good bargin!

I cannot believe how close we are to leaving! I feel like we have so much to do! I really need to get some OTC meds to take (advil, and such), and finish getting everything else ready. I have to work 7-11am the day before we leave, I was really hoping to have it off to get the dog to the boarder and last minute errands done, but oh well. I also purchased a travel cooler for my meds, I have one med that needs to be refridgerated and I didnt think any ice pack would last as long as we will need it to. I like it though because I can back all my meds in one place and make it easier on myself when I go thru security.

I checked us in online! I also requested a refridgerator and will show them my note from the doctor and hopefully that will be all they need to waive the fee. I might give the hotel a call to let them know before I get there.

Thanks to everyone for following along so far! Up next, will I ever get everything done??

So I've been thinking.....

Dangerous Territory!

But I have been thinking about MVMCP. Yes, I am aware I have been very adament aganist it. Yes, I told my mother NOT to purchase us tickets. Yes, I am crazy. BUT, I am once again, thinking about it. I really don't want to leave feeling like we missed out. Although, I realize you cannot do everything in one trip, and this would give us a wonderful excuse to return at christmas time again. :rolleyes1

So here's what I am thinking. We will be shopping in DTD all morning/afternoon with my parents (no word on what his parents will be doing), and I feel as though we will no be able to get into a park until friday. This irritates me. It turns our 7.5 day trip into a 5.5 day trip. Thats not a lot of time to get the parks done in. So I am thinking that if we are really feeling like heading out, we will purchase tickets to the party the day of. I am assuming this is ok to do lol. We would attend the Dec 3rd party. I am positive we will not attend the party. But I am at least leaving the option on the table.

Here is my official determination. I really need to stop reading trip reports. :lmao: All this talk of how fun the party is and how non-existant the wait times are is clouding my better judgement. So heres hoping that on our MK days we get to see everything we wanted, ride what we wanted, and have a grand time, because if not, I am really going to kick myself for not going to the party!:headache:

:banana:By the way, this time next week, we will be in WDW!!!

I went to the Christmas party last year and it is true - the lines for rides are non-existent. Thats because everyone is watching the parade, fireworks, or attending the Christmas shows. I don't think you'll be disappointed and if this adds more park time, I saw "go for it"!

It is possible for the party to sell out, so you may want to purcase them the day before and pick them up at will call.

Yay, only one week!!!!!

And - will your park tickets cover the extra day? In the end, it's up to you, but when I went, I really liked it!

The non-existant ride lines are really what is swaying my decision. We'll see I guess! I still think it is a lot of money, but if it is what everyone says, probably worth it.

We have 6 day park hoppers now, and I think we may upgrade them to 7 or 8 day tickets when we get there. if thats possible lol

This is just a thought and a tip...

If you decide you want to do it...you can purchase the tickets the day of...but you can also purchase them "in advance" and I believe you can do that just the day before...so if you know you are going, you can get a discount. :woohoo:

I agree...I would go with more park time.

I am not sure if you get worn out as you tour the parks? Will you need rest breaks more than most travelers? Will you have to take breaks for any treatment junk? If so, I would definitely recommend the party to increase your park time. :goodvibes

Plus the fireworks are amazing. :cloud9: I love Wishes and can't wait to see Holiday Wishes.

Well if I remember correctly Dec 3rd was date you could not get a discount on an advance purchase. That must be a busy night for them or something?? We could always rearrange things and go a different night if we had too.

Nope, I really dont take breaks all that much. Besides the "lets find a bench and sit for a mintue" kind of break. No treatment breaks either!:goodvibes I only do my treatments in the morning and before bed. BUT I have an inhaler and a portable device (that weighs like 2 oz lol) that I can take to the parks if I start to feel like I might need it. Thank goodness I am so healthy or I can see how much of a chore traveling would be!

Sooo excited to see Wishes! We will be watching Wishes on Dec 2nd (our wedding night) from Cali Grill!

I was mistaken! Dec 3rd IS eligible for the prepurchase discount on MVMCP. So that perhaps will weigh in on my decision.

Oh and I should state that I have not discussed this at all with my DFi. This is my brain child for now lol. He will look at me like I am insane (can you blame him?!?!) when I tell him I am rethinking the party. Oh well, like I said, we'll have to wait and see how we feel when we get there! Also, we have a 540 ADR at BOMA that evening. I'm not sure how I feel about missing some of the party for dinner. SHould I try to change it and make it earlier, or keep it since the party doesnt officially start until 7?? But I do want to get my tickets money worth, so I'm going to check the ADR system online adn see what I come up with!

If I were going to be there during the party I would go.
We have been to the P&P party, and loved it.
We have been to the Halloween party and loved it.
We are missing the Christmas party by 1 day.
You need to go to that party!

I know we would love it if we went. I might bring up the subject to DFi today and see how he feels about it. I know he wasnt so hip on the idea orignially which was why it was axed, but, perhaps if he sees that we might not get much done the first couple days he will realize it will be fun to go. Such a bummer to miss it by ONE day! :sad2: that would frustrate me too!

2 days! Well, since I am almost ready for bed, I'm calling it 1 day!:thumbsup2

We had thanksgiving all weekend, one thursday, friday and saturday. And DFi cousin had his GF from Texas up here so we met her and went out with them last night too. we had a blast, and she is the sweetest girl! I hope they get married, I would love to have another girl to talk to!

Today we had to pick up some more trip items. Am I the only one is feels like all I do is buy things for the trip??!! Between travel items and toliltries, to clothes and essential items, I am almost broke! I just want it to be here so I dont have to hit up the travel section of wal-mart again! :lmao:

I made DFi pack tonight. We both will be busy tomorrow so I didnt want to be stressed out trying to pack the night before we leave. I have to work 7-11am tomorrow (i hate that job!), but hopefully since its only 4 hours and my last day for a week, it shouldnt be too bad. I am up for a promotion at the hotel, I applied for a supervisor position which would mean more hours, and not actually having to clean much. I really want that position.

We are 95% packed and ready to go! :woohoo: Only a few things have to wait until the last minute, but other then that, the car gets packed tomorrow night with our checked bags! Does anyone know if we check in online with Airtran if we can pay for our checked bags then, or do we have to pay at the airport? Being new to air travel, we arent quite sure. I am pretty sure my mom, dad and brother in law are checking in at the airport, so maybe we should just check in with everyone else since we wont have a way to print our boarding passes from our apartment.

I showed a picture of my dress to my in-laws and a couple of Df'is aunts at thanksgiving. Ended up getting my feelings hurt. I got a "interesting" from my FIL, and one aunt laughed at the fact that I am wearing flip flops. I was also laughed at and called "not traditional". I wasnt surprised I suppose, but come on, they could have been a little nicer. This further cements the feelings that i had to just elope and not tell anyone until we got back. Ugh! And about the flip flops, they are the $1 flip flops from old navy. they are nicely made Coach sandals and I bought in August and have had to look at and not wear all this time! :rotfl2:

Thats all for now, I'll probably be back tomorrow to tell everyone goodbye! :dance3:

If I don't get on here again before you leave - have a magical, magical trip!!!!!!! Take lots of photos, so we can feel like we're there with you!

Have a great trip, enjoy yourself to the fullest, and remember - this is YOUR wedding and honeymoon. There should only be two people who have to be happy - you and your soon to be husband! (:woohoo:) Make sure you're having a good time, and don't giving a flying tink if anyone else isn't. :tinker:
