Haven't heard that for 2009...they did do that in 2008.Where did you hear this?

They did it last year along with a room discount, but didn't announce it until September.
They have not announced any dates beyond 10/3 at this point, though.

She read about it from a poster on TGM.
I googled it and it's posted on other boards too...only has "they heard".
How frustrating!

No one mentions where they "heard" it from?

We have the Disney Visa as well. We got an email from Chase about 2 weeks before free dining opened to the public, offering free dining to Visa holders immediately, but for the same period as the public offer (8/16 through 10/3). It could be that Chase is offering free dining through December for card holders first, before releasing the offer to the public. But I have not received an email about it.
It wouldn't surprise me if they did this, as it appears the free dining offer isn't packing the hotels like it has in years past. First of all, I have no trouble finding availability in any hotel I look at even when looking for early October arrivals (still just barely within the free dining window). Also, they've postponed the booking deadline by about a month for the current offer.

Last September Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for select dates in October, November and December, for stays most nights 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22, 12/14-12/20/08, to be exact. These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. About two weeks after that Disney Visa sent out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in October, November and December. Those pin codes were not part of the regular Fall Dining promotion and there was no general public fd code offered for any of those dates.
Disney Destinations has started sending out some free dining pin code emails for this year, but again, those are name-specific and for specific dates, not for the entire months of October through December. Disney Visa may also put out a code like last year, for certain dates, but nothing has been announced so far.

I sure do hope they follow the same pattern this year. We will go in December if we can get free dining, and I would love it if they would release the Visa offer in two weeks (I was not one of the lucky ones to get a pin). Also, the dates for this year's pin covered more dates than the pin and visa deal did last year. I hope this year's Visa offer is the same as the pin (if there is a Visa offer). I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and my Visa ready!

Dh got one of these pins Tuesday. Free dining, 4 nights/5 days for four people at a value resort for $523 off the regular price, dates through 12/17 with the exception of Thanksgiving week (not available between 11/24 and 11/29).
We won't be taking advantage of this offer because we were there in April and until dh agrees to either drive very casually and make it a three day trip each way instead of two days or fly, we won't be going back at all. My nerves were shot the last time. So, no more trips in 2009 and probably not 2010 either. Oh, and we have to wait for the dog to die, we can't leave her alone for that long again.
If only pins were transferable, my sister is so longing to go.

I know there is general discussion on TGM about the pin that was just released for Oct-Dec free dining, and there is talk about the possibility of Visa free dining, but I don't think anyone is posting about Visa already releasing this offer.
(I am not trying to give away TGM info, just clarifying that I think there has been a misunderstanding about what was being discussed on various boards.)

Don't worry about it. You aren't giving out any classified info, that's all common knowlege here on the DIS.
I just logged on my account for our Disney Visa. The current free dining offer is 5 nights/6 days package for $58 per person, per day at a select value resort or 5 nights/6 days package for $108 per person, per day at a select deluxe villa resort (4 person occupancy) for dates 08/16/09 thru 10-03-09. Book thru 06/21/09. The site will give the code for the discount.
The front page of the website has this announcement: This website will be unavailable Sunday, June 21 at midnight until around 10:30 AM ET. If you plan to make a credit card payment on Sunday, June 21, we encourage you to schedule it prior to that date.
I may be just hoping, but if you have to book this offer by 06/21/09 and the website will become unavailable on the night of 06/21/09---MAYBE, just maybe they might be getting ready for another offer soon??????
We can only hope.........:wizard:

Hi everyone,
I first thought it was a Disney Visa Offer but after reading this thread I looked back at my email. The free dining is until 12/17 with some black out dates and indeed it is a PIN offer.
Hope this helps clear up the confusion.

I just (today) signed up for a Disney Visa. Anyone know how long before you get into the "mix" to start receiving discounts? (I already was approved online....)
Is the offer typically JUST for free dining or any 40% off type deals? (Just figuring at places like Poly - 40% off is way better than free dining!))

I've been a Disney Visa Card holder for at least 5 years and I only get emails from them about half the time when there is a code or discount and that's always after I've already heard it here on the Dis first.
And as for typical, there aren't any typical offers from Disney Visa, other than for the last 4 years you have been able to book the Fall Free Dining offer three days before the general public offer that is usually announced in April. I have never received a 40% offer from Chase Disney Visa. The offer last fall for select free dining dates was the first time they ever offered a free dining code outside of the typical Fall Free Dining dates.

I got the Free Dining PIN :) And its for when we are planning on going. :worship: Saved my parents over 700 more than the 40 percent PIN we booked with, and I was able to add a day and still save over 250. I do have a Disney Visa, but it was a PIN through my email account. There are dates from October through December with the pin

My husband got a pin a few months ago for free dining through December but we didn't book....since we already booked for the free dining in October. Still....if we got another Pin I might move our trip to December since we've not been at that time in many years.

My DH & I both received emails last week with a pin code for free dining for Oct-Nov-Dec, but it came from Disney Destinations, not Disney Visa.

I am not a Disney Visa holder, but did receive the free dining pin code as well. It is good through December - now to figure out if there is ANY WAY to afford another WDW trip this year :(

ARGH! How frustrating for those of us still waiting for a pin! :worship:
So if Disney is offering free dining during the time we are planning to be there, should I expect that making reservations is going to be an utter nightmare!!??

Not the OP, but I also received this e-mail/PIN -- received on June 15th from Disney Destinations; HTH! :goodvibes

If they open it up to the general public... probably. If it stays just for the ones with a PIN code- not so much. I am only making one more TS than I would have if I didnt have the PIN as I am going one more day than originally planned

There wasn't last year, and I seriously doubt there will be a general code for any of those email pin code dates this year either. Maybe a Disney Visa offer like last year though.

The pin codes that are being sent out are for select dates in October, November and December, not the entire timeframe of October through December.
