Here's a question for all you Disney geniuses ...

In the Country Bear Jamboree, Big Al sings "Blood on the Saddle" followed by a chuckle from Henry ... and usually followed by a laugh from the audience.

Is this an inside joke or something, cause I never got it.:confused::confused:

First of all, the lyrics are sad to say the least ...

There was blood on the saddle, blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground

The cowboy lay in it, all covered with gore
He'll never ride tall in the saddle no more

Oh pity the cowboy, all bloody and dead
A bronco fell on him and mashed in his head

Why does Henry chuckle at this and why do people laugh? Am I missing something? Can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks!

not sure. I dont remember hearing that, but didn't listen too hard. I think we are too busy looking around and such.

BUT I LOVE the part on the swing:

Sun Bonnets sing:

Everytime I meet a guy who gets me shook,
All I ever get from him's a dirty look.
It's the same way, everywhere I've found.
All the guys that turn me on, turn me down.

I cried so hard laughing!! good memories :goodvibes

But here is a site I found, hope it helps.

If I remember correctly it's because he is interrupting Henry and still singing the same song he was the last time. If that makes any sense.
If I am wrong, please correct me.

I have that on a recording of Disney music. Unfortunately I don't know if it's an inside joke. It is kinda of funny but I don't why the other bear laughs. I know that some of the old cowboy songs are similiar in subject matter.

I just recently purchased an dvd detailing how certain rides at Disneyland came about. "Blood on the saddle" was first presented by an imagineer named Al who worked on the attraction and He looked very much like "Big Al" the bear.:thumbsup2
