My favourite attraction in Disneyland Paris is Pirates of the Caribbean and I'm lucky that it hasn't been shut, even for one day, in all 9 of our visits. These days we get advance warning of attractions being shut, but only if you know where to look. I'd probably change holiday dates if POTC was closed during a time I had planned to go! I know it's only one attraction among many but for me it's THE attraction I look forward and ride as much as possible.

So, my question is, have you ever arrived at Disneyland Paris only to find your favourite attraction is closed, and how did you feel?

haha... my son loves peter pan.. so although ride is jerky and in my opinion too dark... i love it... because i have this emotional tie to it... and the pure joy in my sons face.. so its a winner for me... also buzz ride...
for me and my partner we loved the rock and roller coaster in studios.. hehe

I was disappointed casey jr and pays de contes fees were shut. Is there any way of checking they are open in advance. I know they are closed at quieter times but as they were open june 08 i just assumed they would be open....

We almost had this but the closure dates changed a few weeks back!

Originally Space Mountain 2, Alices Labyrinth, Robinson's Treehouse and Flying Carpets were going to be closed

Space Mountain however is now open, not sure we'll ride it though! The other 3 are not really rides we are eager to do anyways

Peter Pan wasn't open last time so looking forward to doing that one this time

On my first trip to DLRP "Small World" was shut and that is my fave attraction in WDW so i was a bit miffed off but hey it wasn't really the end of the world.

last time i was in Disney Paris in 2006 at Whitsun, pirates of the Caribbean was closed for refurbishment . peter pans flight was closed due to a fault. lots of shops on mainstreet usa were boarded up having a coat of paint. At Hollywood studios the back lot tour was closed and areas closed for the building of tower of terror.
all these were a major disapointment and vowed never to go out of season again.
in 2003 we went during summer and everything was open.
needless to say we are going in august 2010 and hopefully everything will be open again!

last year we went to Disney world in September and everything was open there!

In March Phantom Mannor was closed which was a bit annoying but didn't spoil the holiday too much.

The only reason I haven't been in January is because that's generally when pirate: is down for 3-4 weeks. I just wouldn't be able to do DLRP without that ride.

Our first trip in October we went two days without doing it because Kacee had cried the whole way round and that was difficult enough...in the end I just made him go back on and it's his favorate ride now :goodvibes

During our last visit Phantom Manor was closed during the week, and only open at weekends. So I could not wait untill the Saturday to ride it when it was open.

I realy enjoy this ride, and I'll have to go back to DLRP soon to ride it again now it has been fully refurnished.

On our last trip, Big Thunder Mountain was only open on the first day of our trip and we were disapointed but because we knew in advance (but after we booked) we made sure to ride it on that 1st day.

However if BTM or Peter Pan were shut for the whole of the time we were there it would be a massive dissapointment as they are definatly our favourites.

I always check the predicted closures list before booking anything but its not always a guarantee that they wont change dates.

Hi caretaker.thms . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1477038), DIS posting guidelines can be found here (http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm).

I think we have had various attractions down for refurbishment. But it just made us want to go back.

At WDW when we go in the height of summer Space Mountain and TTA are both down :sad2:
