We are headed to the MK tomorrow! Ferris has been to Epcot and DHS, so now it is time for the big one!
What would y'all recommend for an almost 6 month old baby?
We plan on Small World and Dumbo, but what else? Thanks for any help!
P.S. Ferris helped type this :)

Gotta do Winnie the Poo, and Peter Pan. Don't forget Aladdin's Carpet Rides either. I know it's like Dumbo, but its fun for kids. Getting his pic with all the different fairies in Pixie Hollow would be something to hang on to as well.

Aw, his first trip to MK! Lucky guy :)
Definitely get a picture of him in front of the castle.
Also, you should pick a spot to take a picture of him each time he goes, to see how he's grown. Like maybe on either the Minnie/Roy bench or the Goofy one?
Of course pretty much all of Fantasyland is a given. He'll probably also like the TTA & Jungle Cruise.
Have a blast! Take lots of pictures. :)

I suggest a family portrait with Mickey Mouse.

Get a big hug from Winnie the Pooh? Would he be OK with big characters like that? Eating at the Crystal Palace is nice.
Another thought is riding the railroad around the MK. We love riding the railroad, and you get such a nice breeze off of it too.
Finally, there are those little splash ground areas to cool off. I remember you saying Ferris liked the one on the cruise ship. There's the splash ground at Donald's boat in Toontown, the little splash area in front of Ariel's Grotto, and the splash area in Pooh's playful spot. Ferris can play Pooh Sticks...

I can't remember which TR...but someone had a great TR and their baby was on the ground on main street and they got behind their child and took a picture of the baby crawling up main street with the castle in the background. It was priceless! So something like that would be really cool...even sitting on the ground and from the back.
Maybe lay out a baby blanket.
Of course...you will need the baby station to give him a significant bath! Or at least some good sanitizer!
As far as rides...I dunno. But lots of characters! Love it!

Let's see now, you haven't done a segment on MK baby changing stations yet, have you? Now's the time....
Have an absolutely wonderful day with Ferris and all the pixie dust but watch out for the hot Florida sun. Just saying. Dad, take lots of pix.

:cool1: I'm so excited for y'all!
If you get there at rope drop--- the Main Street streetcar, Main Street characters like the Fire Chief, Mayor, the Dapper Dans, Main Street Philharmonic (if he can handle loud music)...
Storytime with Belle
Take pictures in front of Bwana Bob's, the less traveled paths, in front of the Barbershop (then edit the photo to say someday).....

Lots of really vibrant colors in Toontown. Pooh would be a great ride for him, and you have to do dumbo! Most important take lots of pics to share with us! ;)
Have fun!!!!

We took our youngest on everything that he could go on when he was 6 months old. We didn't do the Speedway cars but everything else without a height restriction was fair game.
The Baby Care Center near the Crystal Palace is wonderful! Have fun!

I would also add the Carrousel to the list. Pooh and Dumbo are a must. Also, It's a Small World takes on a different light when seeing it through you childs eyes.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww, his first time to MK! :cloud9:
My niece was 8 months old on her 1st trip and she LOVED It's a Small World, seriously, all the colors and things moving, it's sensory overload for a baby! My sister said she laughed through the whole ride. I also think he'd enjoy the train ride around MK and Jungle Cruise.

A don't suggestion
DON"T take Ferris on Snow Whites Scary Adventure, when our DD was three that was the first ride on her first trip to WDW and Oh My was that a mistake, she was traumatized for most of the day. Once she settled down, who came marching down Fantasyland? The 7 Dwarfs, and it scared her again.
DW and I rode the DL Snow White ride a couple years before and it was a nice little ride, with singing and fun, so we didn't think about the WDW version, "scary adventure" didn't enter our minds DUH.
So until Ferris is 20 just say "no" to Snow Whites... :scared1:

I love this idea! Especially since you guys could do it as often as you wanted!
I don't know how much he is actually aware of what's going on around him at this age, but our little ones are/were scared of Pooh(the rain scene) and Snow White. The Jungle Cruise and the railroad are great ideas.

Everyone pretty much said all the rides I would have chosen so I will just say-
Have a great time! Seeing the look on Ferrris' face will be a moment you and Corey won't ever forget. Just make sure Corey takes a ton of pictures!
We will all be waiting to hear how your day went. :)

I second this. We started taking a picture of our oldest with the bust of Andy Griffin (at DHS) when he was ten months old and he is now eight with a younger brother. It is neat to see how he has changed and eventually he might be holding me up near Andy. :)

When my daughter was 19 months, she LOVED Small World. I think that will be Ferris' favorite. So many colors and lots of movement, it's like a giant baby mobile! Don't forget to take a ton of pictures. Have fun!

Everyone has had great suggestions for rides.
I will add my voice to those who say to pick a picture spot and photograph Ferris each year in the same spot. It will be great fun to look back through the years to see how he's changed.
Enjoy!!!!!

We did not take DD until she was 3, but we also had my 4 month old niece with us. She went on everything we did and was very happy about it all. Too young to be scared by anything yet.
Please share a picture or two with us. What fun you will have! if it were me, I'd be crying...such a sentimental Mommy.

When DD was that age, she looooved fireworks -- still does (probably because she never had a chance to get scared of them). Or your baby might just sleep through them -- amazing how they can do that.
Have a great trip!

Hey Julie - We had trips to WDW with both girls when they were that age and lord only knows they've both been in Disneyland every month since they were born.
This wasn't mentioned at all, but he's a good age for Pirates. We took Zoe on it out here at DL until she was about 18 months old. Then, she developed the fear of the skeletons and we couldn't go on it again until recently. (That means, do it while you can....)
I agree with the train and Jungle Cruise, but don't forget the Tiki Room (didn't see that one mentioned, but if you are worried about the storm part, walk out with everyone else that leaves....)
No one mentioned the Country Bear Jamboree and the Riverboat. Those are great choices, too.
Have fun. Those years were great memories for us with our girls.

Ditto to the starting a pic spot. We used the Buzz Lightyear ship at DHS for years, but couldn't find it last trip. The chair in Minnies house is a good spot, or something kinda big that will be cool to look at after years of photos in the same location.
Also, play areas are great. If he is crawling around he will explore. Want some quiet time while there the movie theater in the back of the exhibition hall is great.

A picture in the same place to compare over the years is definintely a good idea! We started one on accident when we went on our first trip with the older two in 2005 - we ate at Chef Mickey's, and we've been hitting it every trip since. My littlest was not quite five months old when we went last Sept., so we'll really have something to compare him with!
My little guy also liked Winnie the Pooh and IASW. I think he was actually happy just sitting in the stroller and watching as we wandered. I kinda wish for those days now that he's mobile...no where near as happy sitting in the stroller, and he can get up the stairs faster and quieter than anyone I've ever seen!
Have a WONDERFUL time!

Definately the pic spot thing. We used to do it at the indy car but they removed the car so we have to start over.
Our son loved Poohs playful spot, mickeys play area and the boat with water jets, also the play area by splash mountain. was alot of fun for him. He did all the rides at 6 months including pirates, he was too small to realize what was going on. Now at 3 that is another story. Enjoy his reactions to everyone. Definately do the first haircut thing if he has enough hair it is way cool!!

Great idea for the photo spot!
Ours is in Crystal Palace- there is a Tigger topiary in the lobby area.
We have taken photos of our boys there since 1996. Now they are 22 & 19 and we just took another photo in January!
I like the idea of Minnie's chair though- that would be cool. :thumbsup2
I second the votes for the Country Bears (sit in the back row so you can hold him up a little against the back wall), Small World, Dumbo, Liberty Belle Riverboat and the Railroad.
He may enjoy the street performers too!

If you are looking for a photo spot for when you are in Epcot I would suggest the troll in Norway. We took a picture of DS on his first trip at 2 1/2 years old, and take a picture each time we go back. I love to see how much they have changed from trip to trip.

I second this idea (or twelfth, or how ever many people agreed)! I was going to post the same suggestion. I have seen other people on these boards do this and it is so cute to see their children in the same spot at 5, 10, 15... If the stork ever hurries up and drops off a baby for us than I hope we can do the same with our kid. Have a wonderful time, Ferris is such a lucky kid that this is just the first of many many days at the magic kindgom
