...... i'm left wondering, what's next? I am chomping at the bit to add-on but DH isn't quite ready to pull the trigger yet. We're going to meet with our guide when we're there at the end of the month. Hopefully the next incentives for AKV are just as good or better that what's currently expiring. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I too am curious about what the new incentive will be. I am in the processing of adding on 100 pts at BLT and haven't signed the papers yet. Waiting to see if something better comes along.

Rumor has it the incentives for BLT will be decreasing because it's selling so well. I'd sign zee papers if I were you. :rotfl:

A person on the Disney Magic reported on another DVC Website today that this morning they were offered several new incentives, including the following:
BLT: deduct from base price of $112---
100 points = $16 off per point
125 points = $ 18 off
200 or more = $20 off

But you can probably only get that discount if you buy in while actually on the cruise. And not all of us want to buy into BLT ... what about AKV?
Inquiring minds want to know! :confused3

I read somewhere today (can't remember if it was on this board or somewhere else) that they were told that AKV was going to be discounted at $19.00 per point. Not sure of the point level. If I can find it, I will let you know.
Good luck!

Here's a snippet from the other board's thread:
ssr or akl
100 points = $21 off per point ($112 starting)
125 points = $23 off per point
200 or more = $25 off per point
There is no way to know if these incentives are/were only offered on the cruise, but they MAY turn out to be the new incentives for everyone starting tomorrow.

This would be fantastic! Much better than the $16 discount per point that expired today. :yay:

I'm going to call my guide later to see if we can set something up to meet with her when we're there next week. I'll ask her what the new incentives are for AKV and then report back.

Here's what I just learned from my guide. To do a 100pt add-on at AKV the discount is now $19 per point off $112, so $93 per point. A little better than the $16 discount that expired yesterday.
I didn't ask what the discount would be for less or more than 100 pts though.

It is $13 off per point for a 50 pt. add-on, so $99 per point and no closing costs. I JUST got off the phone.

I haven't sent my BLT papers back in yet and am hoping someone will post within the next couple of days that it has the same new incentive as AKV, but I'm not holding my breath.

Right - I have sent my contracts back, but have yet to send any money!;)
I have bought 110 points at AKV and 55 points at BLT - are the new incentives better for me and should I ring up and find out?? (I don't much like talking to my guide - so only want to do it if its worth my while!!):lmao:

Thanks! Do you know about maintenance fees? Last week I was told for a December UY, we would get '08 points. I'm wondering if we would have to pay fees from '08 or '09?

We have a Dec. use year, and I was told we will get '08 points that will need to be banked by 7/31/09. Dues for those pts. will be pro-rated from the day you buy through the end of the '09 CALENDAR year - it doesn't have anything to do with use year. So we will pay 6 months and change in dues on the '08 points.

Thanks! Plus the full dues for the '09 points, but for only 50pts, that won't be too bad. I just got my DH's blessing to buy :cool1: We're actually leaving to go on Sunday, maybe we'll buy while we are there :goodvibes

Many thanks!! We just (verbally) added on points last week but haven't sent back the paperwork yet. Since we only got the $10/off for 50 pts AKV, I left a message with my guide requesting the $13/pt discount. I hope they will give this to us without any problems??:confused3

That does not sound correct and you may want to reclarify with your guide. :confused3 Usually, points are on the calendar year so dues on '08 points would have only been payable in 2008 and at this point would be "free". It should be the '09 points that will have the pro rated dues from the time you purchase.
As you mentioned UY doesn't come into play with AKV anymore. It can come into play is on a resort that is not open yet (BLT and GCV). Then dues start either with the opening of the resort or the start of your UY - whichever is later.

You may want to call your guide as it sounds like the AKV incentives are better, or wait to hear for sure about BLT. IF AKV is better, but BLT is worse, it may end up being a wash as I would think you would have to either go with the old incentives or the new. If I hear about BLT, I will let you know.

The guy I talked to today isn't my regular guide. My guide is on vacation, this dude was filling in. He sounded kind of new, so it is entirely possible that he was confused. My guide comes back tomorrow, so I will call him and clarify. Thanks!! :goodvibes

Here is what another board is posting and I think this looks most likely. I have a call in to my guide to see if this is correct. We are also waiting on signing a contract at AKV - this would be great for us.
Base price of $112.00:
BLT - 50 - 99 - $5.00 off
BLT - 100 + - $11.00 off
AKV/SSR - 50 - 99 - $13.00 off
AKV/SSR - 100 - 124 - $19.00 off
AKV/SSR - 125 + - $21.00 off

Your welcome and Good Luck jackskellingtonsgirl!
Here are the new price incentives that I received from my guide:
BLT
50 points $5 off $107/pt
100 points $11 off $101/pt
125 points $13 off $99/pt
AKV/SSR
50 points $13 off $99/pt
100 points $19 off $93/pt
125 points $21 off $91/pt
And here's the one that surprised me....
GCV
50 points $16 off for $96/pt
100 points $22 off for $90/pt
125 points $24 off for $88/pt!
BLT incentives decreased - all others increased, especially GCV!

I called Quality Control (Quality Assurance, whatever) today and this is EXACTLY how they explained it. The '08 points are "free" and the '09 dues are pro-rated to the '09 calendar year. I will owe pro-rated dues from June 16 through Dec. 31, 2009. She also said the guy I spoke to isn't new.:rotfl2: So either he was confused or he just misspoke.
