I just made a reservation with Discount Mobility (now called Florida Van Rentals) for a HC accessible minivan. They now have a new policy for pickup and drop off. Instead of going back to their office to fill out the paper work, you now pick up the van at the Hyatt Regency valet parking. You have to pay the parking fee, but even with the fee, they are cheaper than other rental companies.

We rented with Discount Mobility last year and had to go back to their office. Overall, it wasn't too bad. We did drop off the van at the Hyatt. That turned out to be very convenient because we stayed there the last night of our trip.

I think this new policy is going to be much better. I'll report back after our trip.

Here's an update on my experience with Discount Mobility\Florida Van Rentals

-The van was not waiting for us at the Hyatt valet, but the valet did call them right away and they delivered the van within about 10 minutes. This was a little disappointing, but they explained that they needed to wash and fill up the van. I've had similar delays at other car rental agencies before. So not a huge issue. The good news is that we didn't have to take the employee back to the rental lot.

- The drop off was extremely easy. We just returned it back to the Hyatt valet. The trickiest part was driving to the Hyatt valet. The signs at the airport do not give you much notice. You have to be very vigilant.

- I really like this new process. The best part about it is dealing with luggage. When picking up the van, we got a porter to help us take our bags from the baggage area all the way down to the Hyatt valet. When dropping off the van, the Hyatt valet took our bags all the way to the airline check in counter.

- The van was good. It was a manual rear entry van, which is great for vacations because the automatic ramps can be tempermental and we don't have to worry about finding a spot wide enough for the ramp. The downside is you have to put the luggage behind the wheelchair. So it is a little of a pain to load and unload with luggage. Also, it did rattle quite a bit.

- Overall, I would recommend Discount Mobility\Florida Van Rentals. Their rates were the lowest I found, too.:thumbsup2
