DH and I are taking 28 month old twins for their 1st trip to Disney in October. DH and I have been on the DP before, but this is the first time with kids.

I'm wondering if we should schedule our TS for b-fast, lunch or dinner? Also, I'm half toying with the idea of upgrading to Deluxe so we can do more than 1 TS per day and actually get 3 meals a day for the kids.

What did others with kids under 3 do?

Thanks!!

Schedule a lot of buffets and/or all you can eat family style, fixed menu meals. The under 3's eat all they want for free at these types of restaurants. At a la carte restaurants, you can share with them - but anything you order specifically for them you will have to pay for. Because you have twins it's going to be harder to cover both of them by sharing your food.

When our kids were young we did more breakfasts & early lunches, they did not eat good dinners. CP lunch is very good & a great break from the park mid day. Cape May breakfast was also a winner. But then my kids also really like Chefs de France.

I'm planning a lot of breakfasts, 1 lunch & 2 dinners. I am taking a 1 year old & 3 year old. I'm doing a lot of character buffets so the little guy can eat what he wants. I think my kids will do better fresh in the morning (before park opening) than dinners.

We usually do breakfast and dinners with my girls.
If you decide to upgrade to deluxe, you will get appetizer which your twins can help you eat.
Whispering Canyon has the all you care to eat skillet that hte kids can eat, Ohana is served family style (which is great with twins since they bring the food to you). The Princess breakfast at Norweign is also family stlye (but has a cold buffet). At CRT for breakfast they will bring the kids their own kids meal even though you didn't pay for them.

We usually try for more breakfast & lunches. We find that our kids are up & we can plan to be in the parks for lunch. A couple times we missed our dinner reservation since the kids were so wiped out that we wanted them to sleep a little extra for nap time. We also try eating "odd" times--11:00 lunch, 3:30 lunch, 4:30 dinners--this way the restuarants are not so crazy & it is relaxing for everyone.

I also liked later breakfasts, later lunches or early dinners. It was nice to get out of the hot sun.

'Ohana bfast has been a fav with us.

I hear the dinner is good too...but the 2 year olds will LOVE b'fast with the parade, etc.

Does anyone else have an opinion? Which meal is the easiest for a sit-down for small kids? Thanks!!

We sit as a family for dinner every night at home and away. We prefer early dinners at WDW because thats when our kids sit the best and it also helps us if the restaurant is running behind. Often during Free Dining the restaurants are packed all day and lunch reservations run into dinner seatings. Our kids still get to eat before 7pm preventing the tired hungry meltdown.

Our kids also like the family style meals. The food is brought out hot and fresh almost as soon as you sit down. They also like Askerhaus quite alot. Last year at Askerhaus they brought my then 13 month old her own meal at no charge - We were on the dining plan. The waitress said DD was entitled to a meal because it is billed as an AYCTE option.

We bring breakfast food as well as pre sliced apples in baggies and other nutritious kid friendly snacks with us from home. We do this for all vacations not just Disney. At home or away our kids eat more often than three times a day.

I feel that an early dinner is best. Usually after an afternoon break if you are planning to do that. We usually eat a CS lunch before heading back to the room for a break.
