I will be flying out of Melbourne on Sunday 9/1 after our 3 day cruise. Any suggestions on how long it takes to get to airport?? Or any shuttles that run between there and the port?? I hate to pay for a rental car to just sit in the terminal lot.
thanks

I went to the ports website and I found directions from Melbourne to the port. I don't think it's that far away, but I can't tell you how long it will take you though.
Port Canaveral is even closer to Melbourne International Airport. From the airport, follow signs to eastbound U.S. 192, cross the Indian River on the causeway, and turn north on SR A1A. Drive along the coast until you reach Port Canaveral. You also could take U.S. 192 westbound to Interstate 95 and drive north to the Beeline Expressway's (S.R. 528) east exit.

I think it used to take me 25 minutes from the airport area up US1 to Cocoa. But that was 12 years since I worked that gig so the memory may be wrong.

Thank you! In the past we have always used MCO. I just got an excelent deal on Delta, Cleveland to Melbourne ($130 total per person with all fees) and could not pass it up. I am hooked on Disney cruises and when I see a deal, it just gives me a reason to book a cruise.
as a note, I booked this air special last October when airlines were looking for passengers.

WOW:earseek: ! That's a great deal for airline tickets and it doesn't look like it's that far away from port! Have fun on your cruise!

I rode from Melbourne to the Port one time last year. With all the traffic and traffic lights it took almost an hour. (I think like 50 min)

I live in Melbourne and it is 30 minutes max airport to port. Quickest route is 192 west to I95 north to 528 east. Just reverse this for port to airport. Airport is about 1 block north of 192.
Besides the closeness of the airport to the port, it is a great little airport to get in and out of if you can get the flights like you did. Only served by a few airlines with about a dozen total flights per day, so it is never crowded and really quite nice

I posted a similar question last year and was told that US 1 was the quickest way to go. I cannot remember how long it took us, 45 min or more?
We rented a car from Avis at the Raddison Hotel, I couldnt find a shuttle from the port to the airport and the rental car was cheaper than a taxi.
