Nancy its a shame your next trip to the parks will be DL. They have quite a few Swan & Dolphin restaurants listed this time and HOB is listed again.

That is why I don't make a lot of fish at home, John doesn't like it so I get it when we eat out.

Someone had posted that link on the DL board, so I knew HoB was there ;) Told Dave about it and we will probably get one for the Oct. trip.

I think the crab legs you buy are already cooked and so I have always just steamed them. I just put something in the pot to keep the legs out of the water, put an inch or so of water in the pot, cover and heat.

I've never gotten sick when I've done them this way. DH doesn't like to work you have to do to enjoy crab legs, so I do this when he's away on business and have to cook for one.

I've firmed up and added on to some reservatoins. September 29 and 30th have been added to the fall trip. DH will come after work on the 30th and he leaves on the 3rd, so I have some solo time there.

Then our first December trip (VWL) is with DSis and DCuz and that's December 10 to 14, but then I decided that if I could extend my part for three more nights, the 14 to the 17th, I would, and so I did. :goodvibes

DS and his family have bought tickets now to join us for NYE. The price of tickets was so high for them, ($400+) each, but they were able to use credit card miles and that made it possible. However, DS/DDiL will be taking a break from WDW trips, and I don't think they will be going to WDW next year if they have to buy airfare. Hopefully, they will be moving to Florida in 2011. So, our NYE trip is from December 28 to January 1. We'll be in a 2 bedroom at BWV.

So....I'm so glad to have these things to look forward to. I hope to make all of these trips, but just having them scheduled helps. If something goes awry healthwise and something has to be cancelled, I still have others to look forward to.

We changed our dates for our trip next January. The trip from Jan 27th - Feb 2nd has been cancelled and rebooked for Feb 14th - Feb 22nd. Still staying at BLT for part of the trip then moving off property in order to attend several of my son's baseball games. His college will be in Florida playing over President's weekend.

We're going to be at the Beach Club Villas from July 2 to 7. We want to go to Vero Beach either before or after, just haven't decided that.

I'm planning a "Gal's Getaway" for some friends and that's going to be September 11 to 15. Tom will come for the next night and then we'll take a 3 night Royal Caribbean Cruise. I had wanted to go on the DVC member cruise, but it would mean missing my first day of school next year, and I just couldn't "do" it. This is a nice substitute, we've done the 3 night RCCL cruise and enjoyed it a lot.

Well, our dates have changed AGAIN!! So grateful that I get to go, so it does not matter when or how...:love:

First change: Spring Break is not happening at WDW after all...DH decided that he enjoyed our Disney Cruise to Neverland this last January that he suggested we change our vacation from WDW to DCL-MEXICAN RIVERA!! We leave on March 27 for a week! :cheer2: I am excited to try a longer cruise this time!!

Second Change: We are bringing the family out here with us during the Summer!! So, everybody will be at GCV August 10-15th. We may also take them down to San Diego for a few days...but we will see...

Other than that, no other changes...

I am waiting for the 7 month point to make reservation for my DFam's trip to the Marathon weekend in January. After that weekend, I intend to spend nearly all of January at WDW on points. I have decided not to teach again next winter. I do not like driving the distance to work in bad weather. DH is OK with this plan. My long stay will begin in December of this year, as we will be at BWV again for NYE beginning December 29th.

This winter, I wasn't working because of an operation on my foot. It was great not to worry about the snow/ice that other drivers were dealing with.

That's probably why! We were at DL the whole day really.. and went to DTD for a bit. La Brea (where we ended up having dinner) charged us TWICE for our meal (glad for mobile banking!), so I was a little bit peeved and cold.. so after we went back to talk to them around 7, we ended up leaving at that point. I go once a month, sometimes more.. I'm sure I'll run into you eventually!!!

Today I was able to wear a soft sided top shoe that fits me nicely. Until today, it was just a bit too tight. They aren't fashionable shoes, but if they are comfortable I'm buying them. They came from my podiatrist.

I do not have a definite date to leave WDW in January. I have the week in WDW December 9 to 16, at VWL. Then we come back on December 28th. I really enjoyed going to WDW for New Years Eve and we will drive down that time from NJ and I'm hoping to stay at least 4 weeks from that date. Dh will go home after the Marathon weekend, to work for a week or two, and then he'll come back for a long weekend, and drive home with me to Ohio.

Our DS/DDiL and family are very close to making a decision to move to Florida, and so much of what we had planned with them is out the window. I THINK the marathon weekend is still on for them, but who knows.

For the week that begins December 28th, we're staying in BWV. The remainder of that stay won't be booked until 7 months out. We bought a HHI resale that had banked points, and I'll be using those points and the '11 HHI points for these stays, because we won't be going to HHI until 2012. Where will you be staying in January?

There are birds...we don't feed them. We want them away. They are annoying and poop all over the pool grotto and the roof. And we have cats.
But they are always in the yard. Very different looking for the ones we are used to.
We've even had roadrunners in the back yard.

yes, I ordered a red Disney suitcase. It was on sale for $49, and I used my Disney Visa and got another 10% off. I couldn't resist it. And I did my taxes the other day, and I'm getting $90 back, so there's the suitcase, with a little left over!

I'm staying at All-Star Movies. I'll be by myself, so I don't need much more than a bed, a bathroom & a TV. I got a 35% off PIN, so I'm paying about $55 a night for the room.

we got a couple sets years ago and they were okay. Then we ordered one about a year ago and it is terrible....very thin sides and it makes the sides pull away when you carry it by the handle.
DH's first set is about done. The wheels keep coming off. But he travels a lot and they get a lot of abuse.

Well plans have changed thanks to DCL. Right now my trip for this year is on hold. Why you might ask? Disney is coming MUCH closer to home in 2012. In roughly 1 year and 8 months I will be sailing out of the port of Galveston on a 6 night cruise thanks to DCL's announcemet today! My dates are 12/15 to 12/21(I think I got that right). There is a small possibility that my dates might be sooner depending on what dates are available. I am just so excited!!!! that Disney is coming closer to home.

Moved to WA after graduating from college.....because of the high house prices way back then!!
DS moved down there after he graduated from college and stayed for 4 years, then moved here to AZ so he could afford a house.

We did a 2 week cruise too......and she snored through that one. So, this coming one almost didn't happen....but being the great friend she is, she had a procedure to stop the snoring. I just hope it worked!!

We don't have our tickets for December yet....and in January, I will have my own car, since I'll be driving down just before New Years eve.

In September, what I have mentioned is only part of the deal. Nancy and I will get there a day earlier and we'll spend one night at BCV with my BFF, who lives in FL. Then Nancy and I meet our friends and we'll stay at AKV. THEN, Tom comes down (one night BWV) and he and I go on a 3 night RCL cruise out of Pt. Canaveral. I really wanted to go on the DVC Members Cruise but that would mean I miss my first day of teaching in the autumn quarter and that would be a no-no. So, I'm ending my summer break with a great trip...lots of people, lots of places!

We have an unplanned trip to DL from Sept 29th to Oct 2nd, staying at the Hilton Anaheim. We are also going to the MHP (providing that I can get tickets tomorrow if the main DL website co-operates with me) on Sept 30th. This is our 2nd trip to DL this year and the 2nd time we are fooling the kids. If they did trust me before, they won't after this trip:rotfl2::rotfl2:. We are going to pull them out of school for 2 days and not going to tell them until we are headed to the airport. This is their first time flying, so it's going to be interesting.

2. WDW in either June, Sept., or Dec. (Chris's Bday, Anniversary, or Christmas respectively) Sept. might be difficult because of school, but I MIGHT be able to go and talk to my professors..

Alaska is great....but Disney doesn't do Glacier Bay and that was a MAJOR highlight for us. Went on HAL for that one. RCCL didn't go there either and it was so disappointing.

I think we are going on the Fantasy in Oct. 2012.

June wasn't too bad at WDW. It was hot and it did rain quite a bit the year we went, 2009.
Sept was hot too.
You can never beat Dec.!!

I agree Missy. The last two tickets I purchased I used my Disney Visa Reward Points these were 10 day, no exp tickets, so I should be ok for the next couple of trips unless, if any of my boys join us then I'll have to get them tickets.

I liked when more was on the menus and it was easy to go to the restaurants you wanted without needing ADRs 180 days out.
But, it won't stop us from going....for either reason.
We never do the dining plan.

That's exactly how I feel! I took my three DGSs out for lunch today and the youngest one, who just turned five in June, said, "Grandma, the next time you go to Disney, will you take me with you?" :goodvibes I took his two older brothers (now 13 and 8) last June. I told him yes, I'll take him if he's out of school and I go back, if his dad will let him go. So I may need to start planning a spring break trip. :cool1:

I, personally, would not do deluxe dining plan. I have met with other DVC DIS people on it....and they thought it was way to much food.
We don't do a dining plan at all. We get the Tables in Wonderland card for the 20% off.
We usually eat breakfast in the room...........maybe one out.
But you know the eating and dining plans that work best for you

Maybe just try the dining plan for just one of the parts of the trip, the first. You can always add it on to the second 48 hours before if it seems to be going well for you.

I like Movies, but I was traveling solo. The room is kind of small. And there is almost no room in the bathroom. I would have had a hard time getting dressed in there if I was with someone else & wanted privacy. You can close a curtain to make it a little more private, but that's not the same as being able to close a door. No fridge in my room either. But I wouldn't be surprised if they bring them in--they are probably sick of people bringing their own or using fridge swaps. I was in Mighty Ducks building, which is toward the back, but I was about 5 minutes away from the lobby & the bus stop. The busses ran pretty frequently, but all the All Stars share busses to the parks, except for MK. Movies is the last stop, so I ended up standing a few times. My major complaint about Movies (and I think this is true for all the All Stars) is the bus lines are out in the sun. I really wish they could put up some kind of protection. But I mostly like staying there, because I really love the theming.

Well, it was a long anticipated trip, but sadly over too soon. It was our first visit to POR and we stayed in one of the new refurbished rooms in Alligator Bayou. It was very nice and it convinced DH that any further trips we make, we will stay at POR again.

I also had the pleasure of meeting up with Nancy. Unfortunately, we didn't get to visit too long as DD was getting tired but it was so nice to finally meet in person. She is such a sweet lady.

Just booked reservations for BLT arriving November 4th, 2012 and checking out on November 9th, 2012.

I'm looking forward to this trip, it's a girl's trip with my sister and her two daughters. I really enjoy traveling to WDW with her since she's just as much as a Disney nut as I am. My DH and DSs just don't get excited visiting WDW like my sister and her family.

That would be great being at WDW together, maybe we can meet up again like last time we were at WDW together.

Doing much better, my neck and shoulder is still a little sore especially when I over use it but it's healing that what matters. I started back to work beginning of December two days a week. After the new year I'll go back three days a week which is what I usually work. I'm looking forward to the new year, hoping to get healthy and stay healthy. Thanks for asking.

This will be my second stay at BLT, first was with my DH, loved being in walking distance to the MK and being able to see the fireworks from the top of the building. This trip will be with my sister and her girls, I'm sure we will have a great time being at BLT.

Great, as time gets closer we will find a time and place to meet. My sister will be planning this trip. I booked our lodging and she's planning everything else. Just made ressies for HHI again this summer. Everyone loved it there, and it is beautiful. But let's face it, it's no WDW! :goodvibes I realized that I have some left over points, tho...so I'm thinking of taking DS15 with me for a quick weekend trip.

Thank you. I was determined to leave Ohio for much of the winter. That's how this was arranged. I'm hoping that I have a teaching position (I teach p/t at University of Cincinnati) for the spring quarter. It's going to be a very expensive winter break if I can't come back to a job!

Hi, I'm new to the thread. I searched for pin trading and you all popped up and stood out. if i had gotten into the spirit of pin trading last month then i would have traded pins with you all!

I recently came back from disneyland literally on the 1st of this year. The pin collection that they have for my character (stitch) is very small. I did however find one pin that a cast member told me about that they don't sell in the park.

If anyone wants to still trade I have 10 pins i want to trade for stitch pins. I only collect stitch pins :stitch2: because it is a character dear to my heart.

I will be going around September 23rd for two weeks. I plan to meet my brother and his family there when his grandchildren have their fall break. So, I will know the dates for sure in about 6-7 weeks. We hope to stay at BLT for a week and then they go home. I plan to switch over to the Boardwalk or Beach Club for the second week, so I have easy access to the Food & Wine Festival.

Finished making my reservations today. I will be at BLT from September 21st - 29nd in a studio and BWV September 29th to October 6th in a one-bedroom (no studios available)

My brother and his family (11 of them) will also be at BLT, so we will have a great time. Then, I plan to spend time at the F&WF.

Just wanted to share that I've booked DD's senior picture to be done on Oct. 5 at POFQ, by Disney Fine Art Photograph. She's so excited about it. I am too. She loves Disney World, and a big plus is that it doesn't cost any more or less to have it done by them at Disney World than it would to have it done here at home! She has a red dress picked out already with yellow shoes and a red bow (Minnie Mouse-esque), but I imagine the outfit will probably change a couple of times. ;)
