Angels: I will pm you with a reminder if you forget to check in. After 48 hours with no response I will request angels for your spots. If you are going on vacation or will be out of town, please check in early. Please do not sign up for more than you can handle. If you need an angel, please ask for one as soon as possible. I will not be asking for angels after July 30. I will swap out between groups as best I can.

THIS SWAP IS OPEN TO ALL SWAPPERS. NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME AS ALWAYS. If you are new to swapping on the DISboards, please limit yourself to 2 groups.

Requirements for Element Groups:
1 photomat for a 4x6 photo, 2 layers, smallest layer 4 ¼ x 6 ¼, embellished 2 ways
AND
1 box total of 3 layers, minimum writing space 3x3 (other sizes are okay), embellished 2 ways
AND
1 element from the list below

Elements:
1 paper piecing (not a single layer diecut)
2 tags (or 1 large tag—greater than 2x3), 2 layers, something in the hole and embellished 2 ways
1 file folder (2 if mini) - -embellished 2 ways
2 slide mounts -- embellished 2 ways
1 topper 2x8, 2 layers, embellished 2 ways
1 border 2x12(approximate size -- make it to fit a 12x12 page), 2 layers, embellished 2 ways
Altered CD
3 altered paper clips
1 shaker box or matchbook (with paper inside)
1 library pocket and tag. Tag must be 2 layers with something in the hole, pocket must be embellished
1 license plate
3 shapes(squares, circles, stars, flowers etc) 2 layers, embellished 2 ways, minimum 1 ½ inches
1 photomat (or frame) and 1 small tag
1 photomat (or frame) and 2 shapes
1 photomat ( or frame)and 1 box


Embellishing: adding an extra layer beyond the requirements, specialty paper: flocked, bling/metallic, glittered, foiled, embossed etc., metal embellishments, adding ink, paper tearing, dry or heat embossing, using stamps, flock, adding flowers or skittles, ribbon or fibers, matted flat stickers or dimensional stickers….PLEASE NOTE, this is not an all inclusive list. I am sure there are other ways of embellishing. If you have an idea, I’d love to hear it. If anything is not clear, please let me know so I can clear it up. The only thing specifically excluded is handwriting.

Using patterned papers and other colors
Yes! You can use your patterned paper in this swap. Your pieces or pages do not have to be solid cardstock only. I am requesting that you do not use themed papers such as bats, Christmas trees, brothers etc. We have a holiday swap and the weird pages swap on the calendar that will cover those topics. These groups are meant to be theme-less, just about the color. In the end, your pieces should represent the color you picked -- no one should have to look at the label to see if your group was blue or green.

You can use black, white, or a neutral color in your groups. Again, in the end, your pieces should represent the color you picked.

Unless otherwise stated in your group, you can use any shade in the color spectrum. If your color is blue, use any shade of blue from midnight blue to baby blue. However, if you selected blue in the pastel group, keep it light. I realize we may have different opinions on whether a color is in the blue family or the green family -- the swapper makes that call.

Packaging Instructions
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS THROUGH CAREFULLY. If you are unable to package and label as follows, I respectfully ask that you do not sign up for this swap. Items that are not packaged and labeled properly are an added burden to the hostess; it really slows down the sorting process and increases the chances of you not getting back the pieces you are entitled to.

Place each set of items in a Ziploc bag that is able to close. Label the bag with your DISname, name and group info:

Place the 4 individual bags inside a gallon size or larger bag. NO SMALLER. Although your items may fit in a quart size bag, the pieces you get back may not fit in a small bag. Label the outer bag also. The little paper slips that some of you use are fine. I appreciate your attention to the details here.

Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)

Mailing: You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after August 7[note this is before the mail by date]. Then, you must mail Priority WITH Delivery Confirmation. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: Standard box – $10.35, Large - $13.95. I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER August 7. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.70, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.70. And I am not responsible to for postal errors.

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.

No piercing, just dots with the brown marker. She had a little help from mom, but she pretty much adhered everything.

LOL, that's a little "steering" in the right direction from Momma. You should see how she dresses! I just noticed that the colors are way off from the scanner...The eyelet is a pink flower, and the card stock that looks pink is actually a cream color. It does go well together.

I had a question - the flowery shape on the library pocket - is that a punch? And is it just patterned paper? Or is that a premade flower that looks like that?

No, it's from the patterned paper, "we" cut the flower from the paper.

Here is my metallic group.
The copper paper took the embossing so nicely. There are brads and photo turns on all the elements. The vellum on the journal box is removable so you can put it over lined paper or into your printer. The black textured paper and vellum is inked with Brilliance Crimson Copper. You can't see it in the photo, but it looks pretty cool in person. It didn't show up on the copper paper, so I didn't do anything else with it.

Sorry about your headaches, Ann...I'm a headache sufferer from waaaaaaaaay back...Have you been taking allergy/sinus meds? Sometimes the OTC stuff works great. (I use Target's brand of Claritin and it works great). Hope you feel better! :hug:

Does anyone mind if I extend this swap one more week and have it due on August 21 with the mail date being August 14? I just found out yesterday that I'll be in Chicago the first week of August (gone until the 7th) which is when the current mail date is. I would prefer to not be gone that close to the end of the swap and also when things are being mailed as I don't trust my post office to hold all them and get them to me when I get back.

So, instead of a mail date of August 7 and due date of August 14, I was thinking a mail date of August 14 and a due date of August 21 would work better. Is everyone okay with that? I'll remind everyone late in July to not mail anything the end of July and beginning of August.

I have added an additional check-in date since I extended the swap. I moved the last call for Angels to this new date, July 30. If you need an angel, you must ask by July 30.

Rita, it's up to you on whether you want to mail on the 20th or hold on until the 30th to see if anyone needs an angel. If you do wait until the 30th, then you'll need to wait until the 6th to mail so that we don't have to worry about my post office holding it while I'm out of town. Thank you!

I can take H and P2- I will be using Poppy by SEI as my patterned paper but not the flowery pieces the stripes and other patterns.

As I was looking through my stash to see what I had the paper to take I realized how much I don't tend to get orange- I had 4 pieces of orange patterned paper and about 15 sheet of orange cardstock in various shades most of which came from packs that included the orange- what is funny is I really like the patterned papers but I just don't tend to gravitate toward orange for anything.

:headache: I think I said it wrong! I meant we haven't really hit 85 this year. Today we got close with 83 but the next 9 days show us not getting out of the 70s.

And I live in Michigan, but not the UP - I am in the SW corner, only 1 1/2 hours from Chicago. It's just been cool -- and while it's lovely for running errands I need a little more heat to hit the beach.

Hope to have my AK done over the weekend...but DH wants to get away and do something fun...but they all will be mailed out by August 10th.. :) Gotta get them out of my house before my kids go to school so I can get my own scrapping done since I'm home 1/2 day by myself with my youngest babysitting kid being in kindergarten...
