Angels: I will pm you with a reminder if you forget to check in. After 48 hours with no response I will request angels for your spots. If you are going on vacation or will be out of town, please check in early. Please do not sign up for more than you can handle. If you need an angel, please ask for one as soon as possible. I will not be asking for angels after July 30. I will swap out between groups as best I can.

THIS SWAP IS OPEN TO ALL SWAPPERS. NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME AS ALWAYS. If you are new to swapping on the DISboards, please limit yourself to 2 groups.

Requirements for Page Groups:
You will make one 12x12 page for each person in your group. (Most are groups of 4) Each page should have:
1. photo spots: 2 4x6 (or 5x7) OR 1 4x6( or 5x7) and 2 smaller spots OR 4 or more small spots, embellished once
2.one element or several small embellishments
3.a space for journaling -- it can be an element,a hidden tag, a photomat that opens…if you make an element for journaling, then you have fulfilled your element requirement. If your journaling spot is hidden, you still need an element or several small embellies
4.blank topper, 2 layers, embellished, whatever size works OR a blank space for a title (no larger than 3 x12??) AND 2 co-ordinating papers 4x12 each

Using patterned papers and other colors
Yes! You can use your patterned paper in this swap. Your pages do not have to be solid cardstock only. I am requesting that you do not use themed papers such as bats, Christmas trees, brothers etc. We have a holiday swap and the weird pages swap on the calendar that will cover those topics. These groups are meant to be theme-less, just about the color. In the end, your pages should represent the color you picked -- no one should have to look at the label to see if your group was blue or green.

You can use black, white, or neutral in your groups. Again, in the end, your pages should represent the color you picked.

Unless otherwise stated in your group, you can use any shade in the color spectrum. If your color is blue, use any shade of blue from midnight blue to baby blue. However, if you selected blue in the pastel group, keep it light. I realize we may have different opinions on whether a color is in the blue family or the green family -- the swapper makes that call.

Packaging Instructions
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS THROUGH CAREFULLY. If you are unable to package and label as follows, I respectfully ask that you do not sign up for this swap. Items that are not packaged and labeled properly are an added burden to the hostess; it really slows down the sorting process and increases the chances of you not getting back the pieces you are entitled to.

Place all 4 pages in one Ziploc bag that is able to close. Label the bag with your DISname, name and group information:

Each page should be signed or labeled on the back as well.

Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)

Mailing: You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after August 7[note this is before the mail by date]. Then, you must mail Priority WITH Delivery Confirmation. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: Standard box – $10.35, Large - $13.95. I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER August 7. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.70, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.70. And I am not responsible to for postal errors.

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.

You do not have to pick a color when you sign up.

Does anyone mind if I extend this swap one more week and have it due on August 21 with the mail date being August 14? I just found out yesterday that I'll be in Chicago the first week of August (gone until the 7th) which is when the current mail date is. I would prefer to not be gone that close to the end of the swap and also when things are being mailed as I don't trust my post office to hold all them and get them to me when I get back.

So, instead of a mail date of August 7 and due date of August 14, I was thinking a mail date of August 14 and a due date of August 21 would work better. Is everyone okay with that? I'll remind everyone late in July to not mail anything the end of July and beginning of August.

You could mail through July 24th I would think if you mail priority since that's over a week to get to me before I leave on the 2nd. And, then mailing could start back up on the 6th since my mail will be restarted on the 8th.

Thanks. I am trying to do some different things. Like the journal area for the orange group is a frame from the Hannah Montana cart.

I got a great deal on dyed skittles from a girl on the cricut board in 20 different colors - perfect for this swap. I hope y'all don't get tired of them.

The first post is my patterned paper page. Lower right hand corner has lines inside card for journaling and the other element is that I've included 3 little tags (in baggie).
The other page is the Black and White page altho I hope it doesnt look too Black and Silver. The jounaling boxes have the pull tabs. I was trying to go for a "present" type feel. Hope they are both acceptable.:)

They also make this cool yarn that is call "elf eyelashes" and they look, well, like eyelashes. These are great to use behind your element and they feather out underneath. They also make great Lion manes. I also use them like ribbon like Rita did with the fun fur.

You can find for anywhere between $2-$5 at JoAnn's, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. But it is the exact same thing you can find at the Dollar Stores or Big Lots. I have tonnes of it. {;) and it doesn't weigh much. :lmao:}

I just came back from A.C. Moore, where they had "Fancy Fur" on sale for 10 for 10 dollars (or 1 for 1$ if you're me and don't need that much...), but not the "Fun" fur. But I found a fancy fur that matches the AK pages I wanted to do, so I'm happy. :)

If you mail tomorrow by priority it should get here by Wednesday (Thursday at the latest). My mail will be stopped starting Saturday. If you aren't mailing priority, I wouldn't mail it until the 6th.

Your son does Districts? That's great! Has he gotten in before, or is this his first year trying out, or what?

My DBF used to do it in high school, and he made it to All-State once, and said it's a lot of fun!

Yes, DS has gone to Districts the past 2 years. Last year he made it to State in 2 different performance pieces (a duet and an ensemble). The ensemble piece he was in got straight superiors at State and they could have gone to Nationals, but they didn't go.

DH often plays soundtracks in his car and loves Rent. DS got tired of it and decided he couldnt stand it. He has a friend who is in a youth production and DS wanted to go (this was yesterday), only because of his friend. He decided to watch the dvd. He comes out of his room yelling "I Love Rent" why didnt you tell me! HELLO? Maybe its an age thing?

What are Districts? I know your ds did really good last year, why didnt they go? Is he a senior this year? Is the going to study theater?
When we went on NCL we were able to talk to the Second City guys and they were so good with DS, gave him some advice and were very encouraging but then also told him about all of the other careers with a theater major and not to limit himself.

Probably a good idea on mailing.

Districts is a judged competition that narrows down the performers who will compete at state. Our district is the entire panhandle, I think. Each school can send a certain number of performers and each performer can compete in 2 categories. They also have entries for the technical side of things too. Those that get a certain mark at Districts go onto State. The ensemble group decided not to go to Nationals because there wasn't going to be much offered there that wasn't offered at State and it's hard to get 23 kids out to Nebraska.

DS will be a junior this year and he's really looking forward to State this time around. He can go to state even if he doesn't perform because he'll be able to do Junior auditions for scholarships. He wants to study theatre, but he's realistic enough to know that he probably won't end up on stage for a career. He wants to do set design and architecture so that he has a back-up plan.

I purposely don't look at my groups to figure out what I get so I'll be surprised when the box comes, but I love everything that's been posted so far!

OT - Rent is one of my all time faves! It came out when I was in college and I saw it multiple times and wore the CD out. To this day, I can probably sing you the entire thing. When my friend and I saw the movie in the theater(not as big of a fan of that), we sang the lines they left out to each other! Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were/are in Boston right about now reprising their roles and I was so bummed that the timing didn't work out to see them!

After going through all my papers I changed a few colors in my groups 15, 16, 17. New colors are
15. blue, green, brown
16. green, turquoise, yellow
17. orange, blue, yellow

I've never been to either of those! I've seen the Aquarium since we always shop at Broadway at the Beach, but I've never been inside. We basically just shop, stitch, eat, talk, stitch, eat, and hang out since we don't see each other but once a year (there's usually about 50 of us). My Mom goes with me too. She learned how to cross stitch because I asked her to go with me to this get-together the first time (12 years ago) because it was a group I met on the internet and DH didn't like me going by myself.

It would be great to meet you NemoMom!!!!! I went to a scrapbook store last October, but had to be quick since I was with a group of gals who don't scrap! I forget what road it was on, but it was inbetween Old Kings Highway and the airport and ran parallel to the airport. It hadn't been in that location long. It was small, but the gal was very friendly and I did find some stuff to buy!

I've sorted these as far as I can and will just pop in the others when they arrive! I've never hostessed a page swap before and had to rethink my whole sorting technique since once I took them out of the bag I wouldn't know what group they went to. Luckily I only did 2 groups when I realized that! :scared1: But, I made a quick adjustment and all is well. There are some really awesome pages in this swap. Everyone here is so talented. I sure wish I was getting every page!
