The next morning we were back on a plane again, and this time heading for Orlando!!

It was a quick and easy flight, and I must say MCO is one of the most organised and well thought out airports I’ve ever been to!

We checked in to Magical Express, and there was already a bus waiting so we hopped straight on, and it wasn’t long before it headed off.

Well isn’t this a painful but exciting drive!?! It was so exciting, but my goodness it felt like forever!!

We finally arrived at POR and were checked in by Sonia, who was from Australia! We love obscure coincidences! She gave us “We’re Celebrating” buttons, and “Just Married” buttons and wished us all the best.

We had room 8063 which was lovely! It was everything I had hoped for, a king room, on a corner with technically a water/river view (we were facing the water, but couldn’t really see it because of the landscaping between us. Plus we were next to one of the quiet pools.

My parents were two doors down from us, and my aunties were in the same building, but sort of on the opposite side.

We had a 9:30pm ADR at Raglan Road, and were late getting there, and by the time we got there DF had discovered that his DD, step mum and youngest brother had arrived at SSR and were on their way to DTD, so we checked if they could fit them in too, and were told just to come back when the whole party was there and they’d take us in.

Raglan Road is loud! I sort of knew it would be, but wasn’t really expecting it to be this loud! We could barely hear each other. If it had just been my family still this would have been fine, because we’d been with each other non stop for over 24 hours, but because part of DF’s family was joining us, we hadn’t seen them in ages and wanted to catch up. If I’d thought ahead I would have done something about this, but it didn’t matter in the end.

Can’t remember what everyone had for dinner, but for dessert!!

I had the dunbrody’s kiss.
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0039.jpg

DFIL had the bread and butter pudding.
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0042.jpg

DB had the pavlova/meringue thingy. I love pavlova, so I probably should have had this, but what do you expect me to do when there’s something on the menu that reads “Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate”?
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0041.jpg

Can’t remember who had this… Or what it was, but it looks good!!
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0040.jpg

It was already midnight when we finished dinner, and we were hoping to get to AK as close to opening as we could in the morning, so we headed back to our respective rooms to get some needed sleep!

We were in building 80 of the mansions section. I thought it was a great spot, there was a little walking involved, but it's such a beautiful walk that you don't notice it.

We slept in…

Well DF did, I took the time to sort out some of our stuff.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0043.jpg

Not that late, but we didn’t get to AK at opening. We were there early enough that the wait for the Safari was only 15 minutes, so we met up with DF’s youngest brother and headed to it.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0058.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_00622.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0126.jpg

We then walked the long way around the EE and got fast passes, but because it was only a 20 minute wait we rode it too.

By this time I’d sent a msg to my brother and found that they were lined up for the safari and were going to head our way afterwards, and that DF’s dad and step mum were also just arriving at the park, so we told them all we’d wait for them at EE.

Once everyone arrived and all had FP’s for EE, we headed to lunch at Yak and Yeti.

I had the san choy bow, can’t remember what they called it on the menu, something like lettuce cups. They were lovely. Exactly what I felt like eating.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0147.jpg

After lunch we headed into one of the treks, can’t remember which one, the one with tigers, not apes… That one.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_01661.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0162.jpg

Then we split up, DF’s dad and mum wanted to watch the Nemo show, and everyone else wanted to ride EE and Dinosaur, so we did that.

The FP for EE worked a charm, we literally walked straight onto the ride.

I really liked dinosaur, but the majority of the time I actually had no idea what was going on. Too many flashing lights and indistinguishable noises…

After dinosaur we waited to meet up with DF’s dad and step mum.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0187.jpg

We decided to ride Kali River Rapids. DF’s dad decided to sit it out. So we loaded him up with bags and cameras and lined up.

I love rapid rides, and this one was really good, but really short! I know they’re generally short at the best of times, but this one seemed extremely short. Of course that didn’t stop me from getting the worst soaking…

So now we were all wet, and decided it was probably time to head back to the resort, but not before finding a churro! First day in the park equals churro. So we tracked them down, noshed away on them, then headed home.

Where we found this!

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0194.jpg

We got changed then headed back out to Epcot, and met up with DF’s family again. DF wanted to sample some of the beverages available in WS. I think we only got around to America before illuminations started.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0226.jpg

We then made our way back to POR again and watched Bob perform for a little while. He’s so great!

Then we called it a night.

This morning we met back up with my family, including my aunts and decided to go shopping. So we caught a cab to the Orlando Premium Outlets. DF and I bought a new camera, just a point and shoot, but it was water proof to 5m, so we were looking forward to taking it snorkelling.

We spent a good part of the day there, and then headed back to POR as DF’s sister was arriving so we wanted to catch up with her. We stupidly caught the boat to DTD and then caught the bus to SSR... We obviously didn’t realise that it was like a 3 minute boat ride away and instead spent almost an hour on the bus trying to get there...

We finally did though and eventually all headed out to dinner at Fulton’s Crab house.

While we waited for our ADR we had a few drinks at Raglan Road and met up with my sister and her boyfriend who had also just arrived that day. They’d already eaten so once we’d been paged we parted ways.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0005.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0006.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/DSC_0007.jpg

My meal was lovely, but those that had the lobster or crab weren’t that happy with their meals. It sort of tasted like they’d cooked it all earlier in the day, and just gave it a quick reheat in boiling water before serving it...

After dinner we all separated again and headed back to our resorts. We were running in the princess family 5km in the morning, so we needed to get to sleep.

We had a really early start this morning, as we were going to run the Princess Family 5km. Luckily we were staying at one of the resorts that the busses picked up from, so we just had to get to the lobby.

There was a really great party atmosphere at the starting line. I don’t know who the MC was, but he had music blaring and he was getting everyone dancing and singing. I had our new camera, which I was still getting used to, so I got a lot of blurry photos.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2250009.jpg

We were way up the back, and I didn’t realise that there were signs indicating that you needed to start in a starting area that corresponded to how fast you run... We were amongst the walkers...

That was ok, because mum was a walker, and my brother probably not much faster, followed next by DF, then me and my sister, and my dad is probably the fastest. It was fine, it just meant when we started we had to start slow, and then step around a lot of people.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/5685774502124979826.jpg

I finished in just over 30 minutes. This was a great run! I loved going through Epcot early morning, and thought it was great that there were characters along the track that you could get photos with.

I’m a bit competitive, so there was no way I’d stop for the characters, but it was a nice thought.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P22500131.jpg

After the run we went back to POR and got changed and headed to DTD for lunch. We stopped at EOS and DF got a sandwich and I got some soup.

We were met by DF’s eldest brother, his wife and daughter who had arrived late the night before. They were coming back to our resort for tux fittings. DF’s dad also met us, as he hadn’t seen the other brothers in quite a while (being that he lives in the US, and they live in Australia).

We all jumped back on the boat and headed back to the resort. I think it was this day that I realised I hated the boats... We were all on the boat waiting to go and the skipper just seemed to be wandering around the dock, doing nothing! So frustrating! It was still half an hour until the tux appointment, but it was about then that they called to say that they were at POR...

I told them that my dad and brother were two doors down from us, so they could start with them, and hopefully we wouldn’t be long. I was wrong, half an hour later we still hadn’t reached POFQ...

We got to POFQ and again he stopped the boat, got off and stood around doing nothing. We asked him how long we’d be there for and he told us he was actually waiting for the other boat – which still confuses me, because no one ever swapped boats or anything. So we got off and walked.

Sure enough we beat the boat back to POR...

I feel so bad, but of course I’ve forgotten pretty much everyone’s names that we dealt with...

Anyhoo, the people from Carolyn Allen’s were awesome! They were so good and accommodating and we felt like they’d do anything for us!

Turns out that they are friends with (or related to, didn’t go too deep into it) DF’s eldest brother’s family doctor here in Oz... Small world hey...

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2250017.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2250016.jpg

After tuxes were taken care of, half of us went to MK, the other half went to DTD and I went to the Yacht Club to get my nails done.

I’ve never had a nicer acrylic job done on my nails! They were gorgeous!

I then caught a bus to MK to meet up with DF and whoever he was with. I’d been at WDW far too long, and not yet been to MK. It was weird...

So I turned up to MK and DF and his sister were lined up for Haunted Mansion. I told them I’d meet them when they got off, and had a look around the park.

I must say MK doesn’t have the same feeling at Disneyland. I was expecting it to be exactly the same, just laid out different and bigger, but it didn’t feel the same... It might have been the fact that the buildings were covered with the fake facades, but it didn’t have the “Disney” smell, and didn’t sound like Disney... It also might have been the fact that it was the middle of the afternoon and pretty busy.

I met up with DF and his sister and we rode BTMRR, and I think some other rides, but for the life of me can’t remember which...

We met up with DF’s brother and his family, and his dad coming out of Monsters Inc. And once again headed back to our resorts. We had reservations at Teppan Edo at Epcot, and were meeting with more guests, including DF’s mum and step dad.

My folks met us at POR and we headed to Epcot together. When we arrived we had time to ride Mission Space, DF, my brother and I rode the Orange side and my mum and dad did the green. I loved this ride!! I wanted to ride again and again and again, but it turns out I’m now married to a wuss, so only one ride allowed...

We met up with my sister after this, her boyfriend was sick so he stayed back at their hotel, which was sad because he loves the Japanese culture and would have loved Teppan Edo.

We then got a call from the new guests that had arrived that day. They had decided not to come to dinner because they didn’t want to use a whole day’s park ticket just for dinner. This really annoyed me, I had explained all of that when I asked them if they wanted to come to dinner 6 months prior, they were all for it. So this turned our ADR from three full tables down to 1 full table and 5 at the other table.

Dinner at Teppan Edo was awesome! I wouldn’t have minded trying to get another ADR here. Once again I can’t remember our chef’s name, but we chatted heaps. She knew the members of Operator Please, which are such a great band, and she told me that she was meeting up with them at SXSW.

I accidentally ordered the wrong thing, but it didn’t matter, what I got was great anyway.

After the fireworks finished we caught the friendship boat to the boardwalk with my sister and brother, and DF’s brother and his family, while everyone else went back to their resorts.

We were going to meet up with the guests who didn’t come to dinner.

We had a few drinks and grabbed some ice cream, and caught up with what everyone had been doing over the past few weeks, as they’d all being road tripping over the US.

We’d been up since 4am, and it was now after midnight so we caught a cab back to POR and called it a night.

Sunday morning I met up with my mum and sister to go to SSR to get manicures and pedicures. The ladies here were lovely. Once again, no idea of names... :rolleyes1

I shouted my mum and sister as a gift. Mine and mum’s toenails are still in the same condition today as what they were when we left the resort. They did such a great job!

DF had stayed in at the resort all morning and was starting to get a little bored. So I then left mum and my sister at DTD and headed back to meet him. His best man had only arrived late the previous night, and hadn’t been present for the tux fitting, so he also came to our room to try his tux on. There were a few changes needed so I called Carolyn Allen’s and they were able to organise all the changes. (They were so great!)

Don, DF’s best man and his girlfriend then headed into a park and we met back up with my family for a trip to Walmart. My sister’s boyfriend was finally feeling better, so he was able to join us as well.

We spent most of the afternoon at Walmart, you need to understand that there’s nothing like Walmart in Australia. We also wanted to pick up some nibblies and drinks, and a friend from home had requested a box of Red Velvet cake mix.

I think we spent a good couple of hundred dollars here, and thinking about it now, I can’t think of anything we came home with...

We headed back to POR to get changed for our hens night/stag night. The girls were meeting at DF’s dads room (they had a two bedroom suite at SSR) and the boys were meeting at Epcot for drinking around the world. :drinking1

I got a text from one of my bridesmaids who was on her way to our room and asked me to wait for her, as she had no idea how to get anywhere. So I sat and waited. Everyone headed off to where they were starting the night, and I still waited. Half an hour later I got a call on the room phone from the front desk, it was Jess my BM “I’m at the lobby, they won’t give me your room number, can you come get me? I told her that was fine, and also let her know my room number.

I just picked up my room key and ran over to the lobby... No one was there... I looked through the whole lobby, I looked through the River Roost lounge, I looked around all the smoking areas, I looked through boatwrites, I even looked in the arcade... No one... :confused3

I hadn’t taken my phone so I ran back to the hotel room and tried to call her. No answer, so I sent her a txt asking where she’d gone. So again, what else could I do? I sat and waited...

Another half an hour passed and she still hadn’t turned up, so I sent a msg to my mum letting her know that I was still waiting for Jess. Then I got a call from another bridesmaid who was staying a few doors down from us asking how to get to SSR, turns out she was calling from her room, so I told her just to come down to mine and we’d go together.

Eventually Jess turned up!! :yay: Apparently she’d caught a taxi from her hotel to Port Orleans, and of course turned up at POFQ. You’d think the taxi driver would have asked her which one...

Then she’d gone inside and asked for my room number, they had of course told her that they couldn’t give it to her, but put her through to my room – not telling her then that she was at the wrong resort.

Half an hour later when I still hadn’t come to get her, she’d asked if they could call me again, this time knowing my room number she just asked to be put through to it, it was only then that someone clicked and asked her if she knew she was in the wrong resort...

She was then told how to walk from POFQ to POR, which she did, in high heels and a little dress.

So now she was standing in my hotel room, with sore feet, explaining that she’d left both her phone and her ID at her resort... :rotfl:

We had a laugh at the comedy of errors she’d been through, and headed over to her resort.

Finally we were back on the boat to SSR. I received a phone call from mum letting me know that there were a lot of hungry ladies in the room wanting a good meal... So we managed to get the whole party in to the Turf club for dinner.

The CM’s here were amazing! When they found out that it was a hen’s night they brought out helium balloons for each table and brought me a congrats card signed by Mickey, Minnie and all the CM’s.

It was so lovely, and made my mum cry! (I know there's a photo of it somewhere, I'll post it as soon as I find it...

After dinner, and a fair few drinks (I had been on antibiotics for a week, combating a sore throat, so I didn’t need many drinks at all... :faint:) the oldies headed back to their resorts, and the youngens headed to DTD.

WE caught the ferry over, and it’s my opinion that we made the ferry captain’s night. At one part of the journey I distinctly remember us all chanting his name. His name was Jeff... :dance3:

We danced around the Harley Davidson store for a while, and hogged the hogs.

I don’t think the Raglan Road people were very happy with us, we wanted to dance to the band, but when we asked about moving some of the tables (the place was pretty empty except for us) they told us it wasn’t a dance club... Stupid Irish... :guilty:

I decided to head home to bed when my dad and brother were going - a bit after 12pm. I wanted an early night as I could feel myself getting a little fluey, or something. However as being the case I was busting for the bathroom while waiting for the bus. So I made a run for it into Planet Hollywood, and sure enough I could see the bus when I came back out.

I then hoofed it back to the bus stop hoping that maybe it would hang around just long enough, but when I got there my dad was standing outside of the bus with the driver having a chat. The bus driver congratulated me, and we all got on, but before we took off the bus driver stood up, and gave a little speech, giving me marital advice in front of everyone. It was pretty funny.

Finally got home and updated on facebook what we’d been up to, watched a few cartoons in bed and turned off the light around 2am. I know, not really the early night I had been planning, but it was nice to relax after the full on night.

Around 4am I was woken by some scuffling and talking outside the door. I recognised DF’s voice immediately and realised he must have been saying goodnight to a few of the revellers, however from the tone of the voice I could tell he wasn’t ready for bed, and sounded like they were planning something. :headache:

Sure enough the door opens and I see 5 shadows sneak in, followed shortly by a red light then a camera flash. There were a few of these as I could see three people moving around the bed. I have no idea how they thought I’d sleep through this, but I played a long, until I could feel everyone sitting on the bed, when I spoke up and said “So... what are you up to??” :lmao:

They then all jumped on top of me and grabbed a few more photos before turning the lights on. I think they were very disappointed that I’d woken up and spoiled their fun.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/2444466643522051502.jpg

Obviously the bars had all closed and there was nowhere else to buy booze, so they’d come back to get into DF’s Caronas. We sat around chatting for a little bit, and I caught up with what everyone had done since I’d left.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/2444466643522051504.jpg

Then they moved the party to the pool. I’m not sure which pool they went to, but I’m assuming it was Ol’ Man Island, as I couldn’t hear them, and I would have shooed them away if they’d tried to party so close to all those rooms.

I fell back asleep, but was woken once again to them returning, this time after going for an early morning swim. Only DF and his BM had gone in fully clothed, the others had been smart enough to get changed for a swim. So it was about now that DF lost all phone contact with the outside world, as his phone had gone swimming with him, as well as his wallet, his money, his annual pass etc.

Stoopid stoopid men!

I sent everyone home after that. It was too late/early in the morning for these shenanigans...

I left DF fast asleep this morning. I was going with my mum, dad and brother to go see the WP and Francks and drop off stuff for the wedding.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2270024.jpg

So we caught a bus to MK and then the monorail from there. Monorails are awesome for getting around! Sort of made me wish we were staying at a monorail resort. It was so quick.

We headed over to Francks and found that it was all locked up :sad2: but that didn’t stop me pressing my face up against the glass. I called Jessie, Michelle’s assistant and told her that we had the wedding stuff, and asked her what we should do with it. I knew that the planners worked at Celebration, and not at Francks, but I suppose I thought there’d still be someone there...

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/5685774502124979903.jpg

She told me to bring it back with me to the rehearsal, and Michelle would grab it from me then.

So we spent some time wandering around the WP. It’s beautiful! Exactly what I’d hoped for, and mum was in love.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2270052.jpg

We then headed back to the GF and dropped off the stuff with the bell hops so we didn’t have to carry it around all day.

We jumped back on a monorail and headed to Epcot to meet my sister and her BF.

We met up with them near the gates and I insisted on some photopass photos with Spaceship Earth.

Then we came across Stitch, and no lines! So we hogged him for a little while too...

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2270061.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/2011%20Holiday/P2270063.jpg

We headed for lunch at Liberty Inn, mainly because dad has celiacs, and I knew that they catered to that there, also because I’d had one of the bbq pulled pork sandwiches there the other day and they were nummies! :lovestruc

I’d been trying to send texts to DF all day, letting him know what we were doing and what the plan was for that afternoon, but hadn’t heard anything back from him. I then got a phone call from some random number, which happened to be him, explaining that his phone had stopped working. Turns out it’s not water proof... :headache:

So I agreed to come back to the resort and meet him there, and we could go to the rehearsal from there.

On the way out of Epcot I got another text from Jess my BM saying that she was in Epcot too, and wanting to know how to get to the GF from epcot I knew it was easy, but after the previous night :rolleyes1 I told her I’d meet up with her in Epcot, and we’d go back to my resort and go as a group.

So we did that.

I know other people have pics of the rehearsal, but I don’t seem to... Any hoo, this is when I met Michelle, and she’s so lovely! We also met Rev. Jack, who is also so lovely!

I’m so glad we had both of them to help us through the wedding day. They ran through everything at the rehearsal, and made it all sound so simple. Which of course it was, but we didn’t know that until then...

I then led everyone on a bit of a wild goose chase trying to find the Whitehall Room and Sago Cay Point :lmao:. We eventually found the WHR, but couldn’t go in because they were setting it up for some function. We also walked through SCP several times, but for some reason I thought it would be on... You know... A point... :confused3 However if you haven’t been there, it’s just sort of to the side of the pathway...

We then headed back to the lobby and waited for taxis to come take us back to the resort. While there we all fell in love with Richard. He’s so cute! Mum even followed him around for a while trying to take sneaky photos of him.

We were going to have a relaxed “Rehearsal Dinner” at the River Roost lounge. It ended up being very relaxed, with half of us inside, and the other half outside...

We got one of each of the appetizers and just noshed the rest of the day away.

Once again I called it an early night – big day tomorrow don’t you know!?!

DF was spending the night in his mum and step dad’s room, who had just moved into POR, just a couple of doors down, and my mum was going to spend the night with me. Between my dad and my brother’s snoring she hadn’t been getting very good night’s sleep, and she was determined to have one the night before the wedding.

Before she got there, I spent a good half an hour soaking in the bath tub. Very relaxing... :cloud9:

Other then DFs phone telling us it was going flat, and none of the buttons working so the only way we could turn it off was by taking the battery out. We did have a very restful night.

Next up - WEDDING DAY!! :bride:

I've been trying to dig up my most recent BEO, but I've filed it somewhere really safe!

It was a silk bouquet made up of ivory peonies, pink rose buds and green lily grasses. It was also on the BM size, not the bride size and it was plenty big enough - for a savings of around $200 you'd be mad to get the bride size!

I've decided to enter my photos in the Aussie Mag Bride To Be's Bride of the Year comp. I'd be happy enough just to have my pics in the magazine, but if we win Bride of the Year we get a free holiday to Vanuatu! :lovestruc

So I need to enter 5 pics. 1 must be a head shot of the bride, 1 must be a full length pic of the bride and 1 must be a pic of the bride and groom, the other 2 are my own choice.

So here's where I'm stuck, I love all of Misty's photos, so choosing just 5 is pretty hard!

So I'm going to post my short list of pics and find out what everyone suggests! :thumbsup2

Throughout the wedding day the big photos belong to Misty, the smaller ones were taken by family/friends etc.

I woke up bright and early today – who doesn’t? Hair and makeup was arriving at 8am, and so were the bridesmaids. So I got showered and did all necessary morning things.

It was raining... Of course  I wasn’t too concerned, but it would have been nice for the day to have started bright and sunny.

Mum got up too, but only so she could go back to her room for a little more sleep.

It wasn’t long and the BM’s started arriving one by one, followed by the girls from Beaute Speciale. Like I said before, I can’t remember many names from this trip. I know the girl who did my hair and makeup was Elaine, but I can’t remember the other two girls, but they were so much fun.

I was starting to worry a little about the rain, it seemed to be coming down really heavy outside. However someone came in then and told us that the POR people must have been cleaning the roofs because they were up on them with pressure cleaners, and that’s where all the water was coming from!

Crisis averted! :lmao:

While getting ready my flowers were delivered! They were beautiful. :lovestruc Not exactly what I wanted, but that didn’t stop me from loving them. Basically all that I would have changed is I would have had the pink roses as tiny little rose buds, and I wanted the green lily grasses looped over the bouquet, not going around it. As I said though, it was still beautiful, and I love it!

Misty and Nelio then took off to get the boy’s photos and we headed back to our room to gather our stuff to get the party started. :dance3:

We tightened my dress, did some makeup touch ups and gathered our belongings. We had quite a large bag, but stupidly STUPIDLY!!! Forgot to get the video camera... This would be my only regret from the wedding day. I still can’t believe we forgot it. :sad2:

Anyhoo, moving on. We then walked to the front of the resort, getting many congratulations along the way, and I felt quite special walking through the lobby to my limo.

Here’s a picture of the boy’s trip, I’ve already posted one of ours.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/IMG_0650.jpg

On the way to the GF we noticed a little napkin poking out of one of the glasses, and on closer inspection found that DF had written me a note on it!

My mum still has it for some reason, but as soon as I get it back I’ll post a pic of it. It was so cute, so we pocketed it, and giggled about how stupid he is.

Once we arrived at the GF we waited in the limo for Misty to finish up with the boys.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/P1010403.jpg

All the while laughing at nothing in particular. At one point Richard asked a man that was using his laptop on one of the benches out front to move, and Jess my BM decided it was because he didn’t allow anything related to technology around the GF... You know, because of his get up and all that. However it was simply because he was sitting right where I’d be getting out of the limo, and no one wants wedding photos with some random with a laptop in them.

It was then time to get our photos in the GF, so we headed in – with Richard’s help of course!

Once I was hidden away in the bride’s vestibule we got some more staged photos while everyone took their places and everything was put in order;

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/90233.jpg

And some unstaged photos;

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/90216.jpg

Here’s a pic of our memorial table set up in the ceremony. It’s a pic of my Grandmother who passed away in September, and DF’s Grandmother who passed away in May the year before. I’m so glad I did this.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91023.jpg

Then it was time to get started!!

We only had 3 songs for the ceremony, the 1st one being Canon in D, but it was a 6 minute version, so it was pretty much used by everyone walking down the aisle.

First my brother and sister’s BF walked mum down the aisle

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91052.jpg

Then it was Rev. Jack followed by the boys;

Then the music changed; and my dad and I stepped up to the closed WP doors. My heart was beating pretty fast, but I’m glad to say that I wasn’t nervous.

I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with Rainbow Connection, as sung by Kermit the Frog, however the first 20 seconds of it is just a lone banjo strumming out the tune. So I turned to Michelle and said “Don’t open the doors until the singing starts.”

She smiled and said, “whatever you say!” Then I said to my dad “Let’s take this nice and slow and milk the attention.”

Seriously I am so disappointed that we didn’t film this as it was so well choreographed that it could have been a movie! If I do say so myself anyway!! :rotfl:

Kermit started signing and the doors slowly parted

Seriously, I cannot believe how many people needed tissues during our wedding! Once I got back Misty’s photos, almost all of the pics from the ceremony have someone wiping their eyes. Some of them probably are literally just scratching their eyes or whatever, but I’m choosing to believe that everything was so beautiful that you couldn’t help but wipe a tear from your eye!! Lol

Everything was going smoothly, until it came time for DF to say his vows. Rev. Jack told him what to say, but DF didn’t say anything, he just kept giving me this funny look. It took me a while to work out what was wrong.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91217.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91239.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91306.jpg

I won’t post all the pics of DF dissolving, just a couple. I’m sure he wouldn’t be too impressed to have these sorts of pics all over the net! It was so adorable though! I just wanted to say his vows for him so he didn’t have to worry about it (I said his speech at the engagement party for this reason).

In the end he managed to get it all out, and Rev. Jack kept pointing out how much he loved DF’s show of emotion, and how it showed true love.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91178.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91376.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91163.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91330.jpg

Then it was my turn, I was never sure how I’d go with the vows. I’ve always been good with public speaking, but ever since getting engaged, watching anyone else say their vows always made me a little teary. It didn’t happen though, I’m guessing my experience with public speaking just kicked in, and all went well.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91362.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91325.jpg

It was a beautiful ceremony and I’m so happy we went with Rev. Jack. He did such a great job making us feel comfortable, and helping us along the way. Everything went so smoothly (despite DF’s hiccup) and I feel we owe it all to him.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91395.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91401.jpg

I chose a song called Lost in the Moment by Daniel Lee Kendall for the recessional. I doubt that anyone here has heard it before, as he’s just a musician from the Central Coast of NSW in Oz, but if you ever get the chance to, have a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpFeEjC4syg whenever I play the song and someone is around to hear they always comment on how much they like the song, and I point out that we used it in the wedding. The response is always the same... “Oh yeah! You did too!” lol

Sorry for the overload in photos, but I love them all so much, it’s just so hard to choose!

Little did I know that our guests were actually getting ferried over to the Whitehall room while this was going on. I figured they’d just walk across, but no, the limo took them all over, 8 at a time....

Our guests got to enjoy the Pre-Reception while we got some amazing photos.

We made our way over to the Whitehall room, and were given a tour of our reception room, it all looked so good. I’m really happy with how the colours and everything worked together. Especially considering I hadn’t seen the room before, and only had small fabric samples to work off.

Hahaha I LOVE the picture of your "DJ". That will be our DJ as well so it's good to get a good look at him beforehand :rotfl:

Your wedding was beautiful. I love the color bows you used on the chairs for the reception. And your centerpieces!

Yeah, I've never been a huge fan of wedding DJ's because I find they tend to play music I don't like :rotfl: This one was pretty good - maybe a little quiet though...

Congratulations on your wedding. That is by far, one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. Seeing your husband crying in those photos nearly maybe cry, you can really feel the emotions through the photos. You both looked beautiful. Congrats again :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes I think so too, but I'm a little biased. Misty and Nelio did such an amazing job. I'm thrilled with pretty much every photo I have!

You were a beautiful bride, I love your dress, absolutely gorgeous and it suited you so well. I love the photos at Port Orleans (I think?) where you are twirling round in your dress, it looks like every little girls dream - twirling round in a beautiful princess dress.

I can't wait to see some more photos, and I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and read your whole PR now too.

We got a small sample plate of pre-reception food,

But the photos of the variety of food everyone else had looks so good! I can’t believe they got honeycomb and we didn’t! :scared1:

First up we did speeches. Another reason I’m disappointed we didn’t have a videographer. The speeches were so good! We did get copies of everything that everyone said, but of course it’s not the same as having it recorded.

DH and his best man actually told the same story about the day they met. It was great to hear two different perspectives.

Then our meals came out. Another element of our wedding that I was 100% satisfied with!

We had prosciutto wrapped lobster tail with vanilla bean-turnip puree for our starter. (So good!)

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96326.jpg

Followed by raspberry champagne sorbet with macerated fruit (also excellent)

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96330.jpg

And for our main meal we had French cut chicken breast with jumbo shrimp and scallops in a pinot-grigio sauce, sided with duchess potatoes, baby carrots, asparagus and fresh seasonal vegetables. (Also amazing! I don’t usually like scallops, but these were just too good to pass up!)

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/2444466643522051536.jpg

We headed back inside as it started to get dark and did our first dance.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96670.jpg

Followed by some general dancing and having fun.

We then did the bouquet toss.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96530.jpg

We had sort of planned this earlier, the plan was that one of my BMs would play interference for my sister, so she could catch the bouquet. So that’s what we did... :lmao:

Ok, I'm going to ask a favour - I've entered a contest with the resort we stayed at for our honeymoon - basically you upload photos that you took of the resort and the one that's most popular wins 4 nights free accom. :rolleyes1

Naturally, I'd love to go back, but understandably, funds don't quite stretch that far :rotfl:

All you have to do to help is click this link and then like my individual photos, not the album. Excellence Riviera Cancun (http://www.excellence-resorts.com/stayconnected/members/rebeccamaher/media/albums/1615/)

We then posed some fake bouquet toss pics. I took some pics at another friends wedding (of the BM that was playing interference) “catching” the bouquet, and it worked, she’s now engaged  so we got Misty to help us out and create some more!

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96634.jpg

We then did the garter toss.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96592.jpg

Man this was funny. We didn’t have many single blokes as it was (6 in total) and none of them are really in a rush to get married. 2 of them are under 18, 3 of them are in long term relationships but do anything to get out of “That discussion” and the last one is in a newly formed relationship, so catching the garter could have been a little awkward.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96595.jpg

So anyway DH flings the garter towards this little group and you could see the collective thought process as they each took one giant step back... and watched the garter flutter to the ground. :lmao:

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96604.jpg

Then there was this confused moment as everyone stared at it... Not really sure what to do... Then DH’s brother leapt to the rescue and pulled it over my sister’s boyfriend’s head. Making him the “official” catcher of the garter.

We had a bit more of a dance, and then Misty (or was it Michelle..?) Told me it was time to start heading to the dessert party!

There were two other Aussie girls who were planning their weddings at the same time I was planning ours, one of them ended up doing a quick wedding in Oz and then sort of a vowel renewal on DCL, the other one unfortunately ended her engagement, so it was really hard to find someone going through exactly what I was to bounce ideas off, so if you need anything please remember I'm always willing to lend an ear. It does look like more Aussie girls are looking at Disney weddings now though, which is great because they are the most amazing way to do it!

I'm going to try and give myself a deadline of the 1 year ann. to get at least the wedding day all posted! Then I'll regroup and decide whether I'm going to try and remember what else we did on our holiday, or just post some fave pics...

Now some time around here, one of the waiters asked Chris if he wanted to cut the cake. He said yes, but there was obviously some kind of communication mix up because the next thing I know I look over and some random person is taking my cake apart!! :scared1:

The benefit of having awesome bridesmaids is all I had to do it point out this problem to one of them, and she went all Bridezilla for me, so I didn’t have to worry about it. :bride: She’s so great, she had the cake reassembled in no time (she did have to stick her finger into the back of it to get the top layer back on, but that’s ok). Her wedding is actually coming up next month, so I’m hoping I can be as good to her as she was to me!

After the cake Misty said we still had them for half an hour, so wanted to know if I wanted any more shots. I thought about it for a little while, then grabbed DH and we headed back to the main area of the GF for a few more shots.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/93288.jpg

We then met up with our guests in the lobby and decided to head back to our resort, DH’s sister was leaving first thing in the morning, so we kidnapped her and brought her back to our resort as well.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/95526.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/95535.jpg

Somehow though, I lost DH somewhere along the way, and entered the POR lobby with just 2 of my bridesmaids, and they decided it would be funny to call attention to the fact that there was a lone bride walking through the lobby, without a husband by yelling things like “Give it up for the newlyweds!!”

We stopped at the pool bar for a drink on the way to the rooms, thinking that DH and everyone else would catch us up there, and my bridesmaid continued the joke by telling the barman I didn’t actually just get married, I just get around in a wedding dress every now and then… :rotfl:

After sitting at the bar long enough for it to close, and no one meeting us there, we continued back to our room. My parents, brother, and sister’s boyfriend had beat us there, and were waiting for us, but when we pointed out that we were the only ones there my sister and her boyfriend headed back to their hotel.

My remaining BM helped me out of my wedding dress, and I got changed into something more comfortable. I sent a few txt messages out to find out where DH had gotten to between the taxi and the lobby, but no one got back to me straight away, so I headed back towards the lobby with my BM.

We stumbled on DH, my other BM and her boyfriend at a table with some strangers. Smoking cigars… I hate smokers, but I turned a blind eye to DH having a cigar or two for our wedding, because it’s something he’s talked about doing since we were engaged.

I took a seat and the BM that had stuck with me was tired, so she headed back to her resort. Then another friend who was staying at a different hotel altogether turned up – she must have gone home to get changed first – and also took a seat. We sat chatting and laughing about the day with our new friends.

DH working away isn't that big of a deal, it really is setting us up for life, so it's worth a few sacrifices.

I have to start planning some sort of holiday, I'm really over this whole "nothing coming up" nonsense! DH mentioned the possibility of doing a top end road trip style holiday with a few mates. I'd be ok with that so long as I get a campervan with an ensuite

Today we were meeting everyone for breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. We caught a cab to the Contemporary as we were running a bit late. When we got there though, half of our group were already eating at the Contemporary Café, and tried waving me over. That annoyed me so much, because we’d booked in to Chef Mickey’s for something like 25-30 people, so it had taken a lot of effort to get that booking, and before booking I had sent around an email to everyone including the menus and pricing of everywhere we were going to eat, and asked them to let us know if they wanted to join us, and what was there excuse when I said we’re booked in at Chef Mickey’s?? “It’s too expensive, let’s eat here instead.” It was really infuriating. I put my foot down though and said that I was eating at Chef Mickey’s. I think about 12 people joined me.

I’ve never been to a character meal before, as I’m a bit scared of Characters, but I really enjoyed this. I even got up and took some photos with the characters.

How frustrating!!! If I'd gone to so much effort to get that booking I'd be annoyed as well!

I adore your tops! Where did you get them made?? x

Yeah, that's what Robert keeps telling me and I know it will be worth it but I don't want him to go LOL.
Yes, even some small holiday would be nice, just something to plan. Agree with you about needing the ensuite though.

Some people are just so inconsiderate, you go to all the work of sending out all this info, people say they will go and then change their minds last minute UGH.
On a side not, I have that plate above...unfortunately mine doesn't have cupcakes on it though :(

I know! Right!?!?

I actually made our tops myself, they're just plain singlets with iron on transfers. The design I used should be in this PJ somewhere.

Exactly!! I included menus and pricing and everything when I asked if anyone wanted to join us, they should have said no then, not told me to book them in and then change their minds!! :headache:

The cupcakes were nummies! However I really only ate the icing and nibbled on the cake :rolleyes1

DFTW – Amazing! I don’t think I once had an issue with someone getting back to me, or a hiccup with anything like that. They made the whole process so straight forward and easy.

Planner – Michelle Wenzler-Dorr and assistant Jessie – Also amazing! Everything went so smoothly from start to finish. Michelle always got back to me in a timely manner and went through the whole day, and helped me work out the order in which everything would run. There was a slight “language” barrier – yes we both speak English, but you’d be surprised to find out how many things don’t translate from Aussie English to US English! I only really dealt with Jessie on the wedding day, but she was always floating around somewhere in the back ground, ready to step in if need be.

Coordinator – Joe De Matei – Really helpful. There wasn’t really much he was able to do, but he let me make 1st contact by email, which is something they never really do. Then he was able to chase up a whole heap of prices for me before we went ahead with anything. He also responded to emails really quickly.

Misty Miotto – The day would have been nowhere near as good without her! Misty was just this amazing person who really took control of everything. She didn’t take nonsense from anyone and wasn’t afraid to tell someone if they were interfering with the photography process. I would even go as far to say that I would look into the possibility of flying her to Australia if we ever need more photos like these. I don’t think there is one of her photos that I don’t like. Would have paid double to have her!

Beaute Speciale – So good at what they do! We had three girls come to our room to get us all done – I know Elaine did my hair and makeup for both days, but unfortunately I’ve forgotten the other girls names, but they were all so much fun and recreated exactly what I asked for. I requested Ana and didn’t get her, but these girls surpassed my expectations!

DPS – Pretty good, and I’d pay to do it again, but not as great as I was hoping. I had Mike do my photos for the Bridal Portrait. He got some amazing photos, and definitely knows how to take a gorgeous photo, but he was really lacking in the posing department. How I was standing and smiling didn’t really feel natural at all, and I think you can see that in the pictures. Not only that, but the day before the bridal portrait DPS called to say that they had to bring the photos forward by an hour – which meant 4am instead of 5am...! In other words up for hair and makeup at 3:00am (That’s in the morning in case you didn’t realise!) I wasn’t happy with this, and DH even encouraged me to cancel, but I really wanted the photos, so I made the changes with Beaute Speciale and we went ahead with it. DPS did offer me a discount for reprints, but I ordered the DVD, so reprints aren’t really anything I need. I haven’t actually ordered my album yet either… Really should do that…

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/PH221780311-0029.jpg

Rev. Jack Day – So perfect for us! He was so sweet and lovely and really made the ceremony! Even during DH’s “Hiccup” he was able to carry on quite professionally and lighten the mood, which also helped get DH back on track.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/91362.jpg

Disney Floral – They were able to produce some amazing quality silk flowers. The bouquet isn’t actually what I asked for, but it was still beautiful, so I was happy with it. They also didn’t get my ribbon and something blue (which went in the bouquet) until just before I walked down the aisle, but it took them no time to get them added in. There was a bit of confusion during the planning stage, mainly due to flowers having different names here, compared to over there, but we managed.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/92159.jpg

Port Orleans Riverside – Perfect location. We got some stunning photos here, and could have gotten a whole of a lot more, there were endless photo opportunities. The resort is so romantic in itself, and I could have spent a lot more time just around there.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/94308.jpg

Whitehall Room – This room was perfect for the amount of guests we had (40) any more and I think it would have felt a bit crowded. I loved that the patio was included, and the monorail passed right over head. We didn’t cover the birds up, but if I was to ask anyone about them now they’d have no idea what I was talking about.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96024.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/92864.jpg

Ipod connection – Was a little on the quiet side, but it worked really well for what we wanted. It didn’t get many people up and dancing, but neither have any of the DJs at any weddings I’ve been to recently.

Sago Cay Pointe – Was a perfect way to top off the evening.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/BecBennett/Wedding/96691.jpg

All in all, the only thing I would have done differently is probably hire a videographer, but I’d do everything else the same, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Worth every cent!

Yeah it was worth it, but by breakfast I felt like absolute sh*t, and had to spend the day in bed recovering :sad2: Once in a lifetime oppurtunity though, so I'm glad we did it.

I can't belive its a year since your wedding!

You're telling me!?! :lmao: Yeah I can't believe it. The worst part is not having anything to look forward too, but we are actually considering doing a sneaky trip over in May :yay:

It's all about getting back to Disney :rotfl:
