Hi, I am planning my son's 2nd birthday party, which we are hoping to do in a Sesame Street theme. Last year I created invites on walmart.com's photo site and then just printed them there-it was so easy and they were really cute. I would love to do this again, but I can't find any with the Sesame Street characters on them, and I have looked all over.
I have seen so many cute designs on here, I was hoping someone might be willing to take a stab at creating one on here. I would be SOOOOO grateful. If anyone is up for it, please let me know and I will get you all the info you need. Thanks!

I will work on one and post it by tomorrow (or later this evening if I have time). I made sesame street autograph pages so I have a bunch of clip art saved. Is there something specific you are wanting...characters, wording, size? I have an idea for something...what is his name?

Oh my gosh, that would be so great! His name is Cooper, and his favorites are Elmo and Cookie Monster, but I'd be thrilled with whatever! I'd love to be able to print it at a regular photo lab, and use the leftover envelopes from last year's invites and Christmas cards, so like a 4x8? I'm not too picky, just a kind of "help us celebrate Cooper's 2nd birthday" type invite. And actually, I have no idea how to take something you create and print it somewhere, so any help on that would be great.
Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this will help me!!!

4x8 isn't a normal picture size for developing. Typical sizes are 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10. I made these 5x7 which is a nice invitation size. If you like one of these...I can change it to 4x6 if needed, keep it 5x7 or if you want to print at home I can make it 8.5x5.5 so that you can get two invitations on one piece of cardstock. Wal-Mart has 8.75x5.75 white envelopes that are perfect for the 8.5x5.5 size if you decide to print at home.
If you like one of them...send me a pm with the information that you want on the invitation (and email address if you need me to set it up in word) so that I can make the changes and send back to you. If you want different colors, borders, wording...let me know.

I couldn't resist making this one...it is not a normal size and you will probably need to print at home or a copy shop if you make it. If you like it...I can set it up in a word document for you:

Here is a cute "Cookie Monster" favor. All you need to do is to copy into a word document...I can set it up if you need me to...just send me your email. Then cut out and fold along the three lines. Wrap around small individual size cookie bags and staple the top and bag of cookie together. This will make a little tent and will be able to stand up on a table.
You could also send this along with the invitation as a fun surprise and to gear up the excitement about your party.

I have been on vacation all week and I guess I needed a little computer design time. Here is an "Elmo Sucker Cover". Again, copy into a word document (or I can set it up for you and email), print, trim out image, punch a hole, then bend on the three lines, slip the stem of the sucker through the hole, wrap around the sucker and use double sided tape to secure.
Also, I have some really cute pictures for decorating with elmo in mind. I have them in a word document so I would have to email them to you if you want them. If you are going to have other children there and need games...go to www.birthdaypartyideas.com It is the BEST website for getting ideas for children's parties. It is a lot like this website where mom's post what they did for their children's parties. You can get ideas for games, decorations, favors, invitations, etc.

Here is a cute favor for the adults at your party. Or you could make the cookies and send them along with the recipe and invitation...
This recipe was found in the Sesame Street Library Volume 1, Featuring the letters A and B and the number 1 and is really Cookie Monster's recipe. They do not use a blender so that younger children can make the recipe with an adult. I use to make it when I was a little girl and loved cutting strips to make my own letters.

Here is Cookie Monster's Chocolate Chip Recipe that was in a children's video:

Dolly, I just have a second (have to get kids to bed after a very long day out), but I can not believe what you have created!!! All of the invites look so amazing, and the favors are super cute as well-I may have to do all 3! If I have to narrow down, I think I like the 1st and 2nd invitations the best. Is it possible to do a thin red border around the edge of the first one? Because then it would definitely be my favorite. I really love them all. If it's okay, can I take a day or two to figure out what I need them to say? I'm still making sure on a time, etc. Also, I'm thinking maybe I can just do them in a size that's easy to find envelopes in the stationary aisle, and then I'll print them at home. Do you think that will work?
Again, thank you so much! I went from having nothing last night to having several awesome invite choices (I love how you used the theme song by the way, and I love, love, love the "brought to you by..."!) and great favor ideas ready to go. I told my DH, and he couldn't believe someone would take the time to do this for a stranger! You're awesome!

I would suggest printing at home if you have a decent printer and make them 8.5 x 5.5 inches (half of a regular sheet of paper) so that you can get two on one page and it is a nice size for an invitation. Then you can go to Wal-Mart and buy 8.75x5.75 envelopes that fit that size.
I would be happy to put a red border around the first invite...very easy to do. Take a couple of days and send me a pm with the specifics of what you want and I will make the changes and send back to you. If you send me your email, I can get them all set up in a word document ready for you to print.
Glad that you liked them!

I thought I would show you what the first invite looks like with a red border and a small white border beyond that because a lot of printers will not print all the way to the edge. Also, it is set up to 8.5x5.5 inches, which is a great invitation size and one that you can get envelopes for.

Hey my son is turning 3 and were having a sesame street themed party for him as well. We currently live in germany, because my husband is in the army. We dont have much selection over here at all for birthday party supplies. I love the invitation with all the characters on it and the red border. I was wondering if you could do that one for me also, except change the name to Mason and its his 3rd birthday. If you could do that and send it to my email, I would greatly appreciate it alot. My email is ashleylove16 at hotmail.com. Sorry they wouldnt let me do my email on here. Thanks alot again if you could send that.

Glad to help...I'm an army brat and grew up in Germany. :goodvibes
They all have characters and a red border around them. I'm assuming it is the last one with the characters around the edges of the invitation circling the wording. (if this isn't the right one...tell me which post number and if there are two in the post put first or last) What date, time and address do you want? And is there different wording you would like where the "mini water park" line is? Also, do you want a RSVP?
If you need any of the favors...let me know.

Oh thats cool, what part of Germany were you in? Were in Mannheim.Yes that is the one I liked. I actually love the mini water park part. We were going to do somethin like that out back, some little pools and slip and slides. So thats a cute idea! The party date is Saturday, August 22nd. I guess just put 4:00 pm on there, we dont really have a set time frame for when its over. Oh and just change it to the Jarvis's backyard. I do want an rsvp. You could just do rsvp Ashley, and our number is 062172490186. I really liked the cookie monster recipe favour, the sugar cookie one, i thought thoughs were cute. I was also wondering, i saw on your shared link that you have candy bar wrappers. I was wondering if you could make one with Sesame street characters on it and say Mason's 3rd birthday on it and the party date. If you can do that, if not thats no a problem, I just thought those were cute too. Heres my email address again, ashleylove16 at hotmal.com. Thanks again so much for doing this, I really appreciate it! This helps out so much! If there is anything else you need just let me know, thanks again! :goodvibes

I have blank ones in my 4shared file in the link in my signature. Then look in the "blank invitation" file. These are super easy to add a textbox to if you have MS Word to add your party information. Here is a link that teaches how:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2286193
Or you can do what others do when they buy invitations. First print the blank invitation. Then set up a word document to the size of the inviation. For example if the invitation is 5.5 x 8.5 (half of a regular sheet of paper...I think that is the size that I made these), then set up a document in MS Word (or whatever program you use to type letters) with 5.5x8.5 as the size and margins that are all .5 inches. Then type the party information and run a trial print on a plain sheet of paper, put it over the invitation that you printed, and hold it up to the light to see how it matches up. If it is perfect, go ahead and print on the invitations. If it doesn't line up...change your margins to better fit the invite.
If you have MS Word...it is so much easier to insert the blank invitation, then put a textbox over it so that you can see how everything will line up.
If you try all of that and don't have any luck, send me a pm and I will be happy to help. Or if you like an invitation on this thread that isn't in my 4shared file, let me know and I can help you with it. The favors are also in my 4shared file.

I wasn't sure if there was one that you liked so I added Abby to the most popular one. You can find it in my 4shared file in the link in my signature then look in the "blank invitation" file and it is called "sesame street gang" (abby is in the middle on the left).
Just in case you really want an Abby party...I have an Abby birthday t-shirt design in the "t-shirt" file. I made an invitation to match the t-shirt design and put it in with the other "blank invitations" in my 4shared file. I also made a matching candy bar wrapper and it is in the "candy wrapper" file. If you want me to make the t-shirt design with her age on it...I can do that as well. Just let me know.
Hope you can use one of the designs.

I'm not certain what you mean by everything and I don't know what sizes you want. When you go to my 4shared file, click on the thumbnail image and you will get a new popup. When you see the second image look for a button that says "download" and click on the "download" button to save it to your pictures as a jpeg.
Then open up a word document and click on "insert" at the top of word and in the drop down menu, click on "picture" and "from file". Then find the image you want to insert into word and click once on the image and "insert".
If you need to resize the image...you can go to the top of word and click on "format" and "picture" in the drop down menu. Then click on the "Size" tab to change it to the size you want. Or you can point, hold down and click on the corners of the image and drag the size in or out to make is smaller or bigger.

My apologies for the rushed posting. Thank you for the clarification. I the invites downloaded but how do I input my information into it. Also, where did you find the Sesame Street pictures..they are super cool. I've searched google and bing and have only been able to find a few good ones.
Again, thank you. I am planning my 1 year olds birthday party with a Sesame Street theme. Money a bit tight so I am trying to do a few things "homemade". Do you have any ideas on table decorations besides balloons? That's all I could think of.

I do most everything "homemade" not necessarily because money is tight as I think everything is better homemade than the typical store bought items. I love it when things are personalized with a child's name. So it is great that you are going to make things for your party!!!
Here are instructions for how to insert a textbox over an image in MS Word:
• First copy and paste the image you want to add a name, word or words to into MS Word.
• Next make sure that your cursor is below the image that you want to insert a text box over by hitting return twice.
• Then look for the tab at the top of word that says "insert", click on it and scroll down and click on "text box".
• Next, a big box will show up on the screen that says text box...ignore this box but look for your mouse that will show up as an +. Move the +/mouse to where you want your text box to go then left click and drag the mouse to make the size box you want for the area you want the wording to go.
• Then go back up to the top of word and click on "format" and click on "text box" in the drop down menu.
• Look for the tab that says "colors and lines". In the fill section make sure the color box says "no color". In the line section make sure the color says "no line". Then the background will show through behind whatever text you type in the box and there won't be a line around the text box.
• Now you can type whatever you want inside the box by clicking inside the box and choosing font and size.
• If the box isn't the right size you can drag the corners and sides to make it the right size.
I used google to find all of my images...try different search wording and make sure that you are on the "images" tab.
If you need help with something specific send me a pm. I didn't start this thread so I don't always remember to check it.

I have the sesame street blank invitations in my 4shared file in the link in my signature. You can save the one you like as a jpeg then insert it into a word document. It is super easy! Open up a word document...change the margins and set the orientation to landscape. If you want two on the page and you want them both to measure half a page...set your margins to "0". You will get a popup that says "...outside printable area..." click "ignore" as there is enough white space around the invitation that you like that it should print just fine. You can find white envelopes at walmart that will fit 8.5 x 5.5 invitations.
Then go to the top of word and click on "insert" and in the drop down menu click on "picture" and "from file". Then find the invitation, and either double click on it or click once and "insert".
Then you can insert a textbox over the invitation and add your party details. If you don't know how to do this...I have instructions for inserting a textbox on page 2 of this sesame street thread, or
check out the "How to personalize DISigns using MS Word" thread as it has lots of great instructions:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2286193
HOW TO PERSONALIZE THE SUCKER WRAPPER:
For the sucker wrapper...same thing. I have a blank sucker wrapper in my 4shared file. Look in the "candy wrapper" file and the "sucker wrapper" subfile.
Once you find it, save the sucker wrapper as a jpeg to your pictures.
Next, open up a word document and set the margins all to .3 inches and set the orientation to landscape. Then insert the sucker wrapper into the word document. Insert one wrapper and make sure the size is 6.22 x 2.59. You can check it by going to the top of word and click on "format" and in the drop down menu click on "picture" and then click on the "size" tab. If it isn't already the correct size...change the height to 6.22 and click the tab button on your keyboard and it will automatically correct the width. Then click "okay".
Next, you will need to rotate the image to add your wording. Click once on the image to open it up and then look for the icon that has a purple and white triangle. If you wave your mouse over it...it will say "rotate left 90" click the rotate icon twice to rotate the sucker wrapper.
Now copy the image and paste it two more times as you can print 4 to a page. Then insert a textbox over the first sucker wrapper and add your wording. You can copy the textbox and click paste. It will probably paste the textbox over your original textbox so you will need to click and drag it over the next wrapper.
I prefer to teach others how to personalize blank designs rather than personalizing them myself as I travel a lot and I'm not always able to personalize designs for others. If you have problems let me know.

I made two toppers for you and put them in my 4shared file. Look in the "parties" file and then the "cupcake topper" subfile. The entire image is 3.5 inches but the circle is 3 inches. Hope one of them will work. I left room for you to add wording like "thanks" or XYZ's birthday, etc.

I saw your beautiful birthday invitations... I was wondering if you would still be willing to create one for me. I am having a birthday party for my son and it is a Cookie Monster theme. I love the Sesame Street theme, but I think I would like to narrow it down to Cookie alone or Cookie with Elmo. I am thinking of something along the lines of
H is for Harry
and Harry turning 3
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. I am so impressed with your work!!
Thanks,
Brette

I started my own little business making party printables for others so I'm not on the Boards as much to moniter all of the threads. I sent you both pm's. If anyone else comes across this thread send me a pm so that I can let you know how I can help with your parties.

Hi Dolly I am trying to come up with an Elmo/Sesame Street invitation for my daughter's 2nd Birthday and I came across your posts on my search. I was wondering if you could do any of these with a girly touch? I would love to be able to just print at home on normal paper. Would you be able to help me out at all? It would be wonderful!!
Thank You for any Help!

I started my own party printables company so I'm not designing party printables on the Boards, but you can use any of my blank DISigns in my 4shared file.

I love your designs and was wondering if you could personalized 4x6 invites, favor tags and wter bottle designs for my son's first birthday party. Thanks so much for your assistance. I tried to download it myself but could not do it. How can I download it for modification?

The images are in my 4shared file in the link in my signature. You should be able to click on the image and it will open up the invite in a new window. Then if you scroll down you can click on the "download now" button to save it to your computer as a jpeg with your other pictures.
Here is a thread that teaches you how to insert a picture into word and personalize it:

I started my own company making party printables for others so I haven't had time to do a lot on the Boards. If you have any other questions send me a pm.

Hi Dolly!! My name is Jen and I am having a heck of a time finding a sesame street invite for my going to be 2 year old son Logans birthday. I stumbled upon this thread and fell in love with the invite you made on the first page with all of the characters and the red boarder. I was wondering if you would be to put one together for me? I would really appreciate it. I am the furthest thing from crafty but want the best for my little man!!! I look forward to hearing from you:)
