I am making ADRs next week and need some advice. It will be me, DH and DD(8). The girls are pretty adventurous in eating, but DH likes steak and french fries:thumbsup2 and would be happy with that at every meal. Doesn't even appreciate steak with fancy trimmings. We have 6 TS to reserve and right now I am thinking:

1900 Park Fare (mainly for DD)
50's prime time
WCC
Maybe an Italian (Tony's, Tutto or MM)
I need to get a couple of steak dinners in here. Advice??

Also, which Italian would you choose!?

Thanks!
Julz

Le Cellier has fantastic steak. My husband about died and went to heaven when he had his steak with cream cheese mashed potatoes (he's a meat and potatoes man too).

My husband really enjoyed the buffet at Chef Mickey's too. Grand Floridian Cafe is another place you might try: Pretty standard fare with steak on the menu. In fact, most of the TS restaurants have steak, but be warned that some of them are prepared in ways that may not be acceptable to picky husbands (i.e. mine would rather not try teriyaki steak at Kona).

We chose some of our ADRs based on a similar preference of pleasing meat and potato eaters...we are tying out both the Yachtsman (2 TS) and the Turf Club (1 TS) (at Saratoga springs). I would guess they are good for the kind of food you are looking for, but not experiential eating for your DD though.

You could check the menus out at All Ears

Good luck and enjoy!

Just be warned that most steak places don't serve fries. Or baked potatoes for that matter. All manner of mashed potatoes and other sides, but few fries.

Steak Places

Le Cellier - EPCOT must do get the cheese soup appetizer
Turf Club at Saratoga Springs Resort NY Sirloin with Blue cheese topping
Tony's Town Square MK (excellent steaks a sleeper)
Narcoosees
Akershus - EPCOT (Venison)

There are more - but with the Deluxe Dining Plan I always get the steaks...

Not everyone seems to agree, but I had a wonderful steak at Coral Reef (every bit as good as LeCellier, IMO). I also much preferred the atmosphere at Coral Reef. Your girls might really like eating with the sharks and sea turtles, we did! Just something to keep in mind in case you can't snag that ever-elusive LeCellier ADR. ;)

Le Cellier is always a must for us. But...........we went to Teppan Edo last year, it is in Japan much like Kobe Steak or Bennihana but the steaks that we had there were absolutely AMAZING! I had the filet, my DH and kids had the stead and shrimp(i think it was sirloin) but they both were fork tender and seasoned perfect. This is the one place besides Le Cellier that my family ALL requested to go back to this year during our trip in August! It is a fun place for the kids and the family and the food is top notch!:thumbsup2

I just found the steak pictures for a steak at Pepper Market and we are going to try and head that way for a lunch during our trip. Yum!

i echo the coral reef suggestion... my brother is a steak/baked potato fan and he really enjoyed it there... also, rose & crown has a good steak (but it's listed as a surf/turf thing... i've heard reports that it can be served sans fish)... raglan road was also good...

re: pepper market at csr... so not worth the trip! we were staying there, so we tried it and it was beyond awful!

I had steak and fries at The Wave and Kona Cafe. I also had a steak with rice (I know, it's weird but you can't eat fries all the time) at Coral Reef. I also had one at Sci-Fi -but I don't recommend it.

The best steak was at The Wave out of those.

Last year my DH ordered steak and fries at every meal, he just asked them to hold the sauce that they normally prepared them in. Most TS places have fries for the kids so they can be sunstituted.

We also loved the steak at Coral Reef, and will be going again. Seems like I had the New York, would have to check the menu. We loved the atmosphere, and had our best server of the week, there.
Not sure if they could sub fries, though. If fries are on the kids menu at any of the restaurants, they may.

Kona also has a good steak.
Planet Hollywood has steak (and it's served with fries).

I have spent many a night searching through the menus as my DD2 is a steak monster. However, I'm scared to share with her off my plate: She will eat the whole thing! That's the only food she eats like that and sometimes I wonder where she puts it.

I talked to DH this weekend about ADR's and he asked if we could do the Japanese Grill like we did on last vacation. Who knew?? Maybe there is more to my steak and potato guy.

Thanks EVERYONE for your suggestions!!

Has anyone eaten the steak as a CS at Peppermarket?
Thoughts?

yes, and we were extremely under-impressed... the steak was not all that good despite the good reviews it usually gets here on the disboards... i'd not order it again!
