My mom had a breast biopsy done yesterday and will have the results late this afternoon or evening. She went in for her yearly Mammogram which detected calcium deposits. She agreed to the biopsy, so now we wait...
I firmly believe in the power of prayer, so if you can spare a moment I'd be very grateful.

First, thanks so much for your prayers. It's so wonderful that you all are willing to take time out to pray for someone you don't even know.
Sadly, my mom's biopsy showed cancer--we just found out yesterday. Some good news, it's in the very early stage and a small area, so she'll have that spot removed and probably follow up with radiation. My mom is 65 and has been on Premerin for the past 20 years, following a hysterectomy. I can't help but wonder if the hormones somehow contributed to where we are now.
We are hopeful that every thing will be okay in the days to come. What really stinks is that we have a family trip planned for the end of September. My mom is still hoping to make the trip, but we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks again everyone.

I am sorry the results were not more favorable, but also glad to read it is in the early stages.

I will continue the prayers, and the trip in September would might be a WONDERFUL idea, a great rest, and a magical time with family. And if it can't be then, maybe sometime thereafter.

Hugs and prayers.

I'm sorry to hear of your mom's diagnosis but glad to hear it is early stage. My grandmother had breast cancer and underwent a lumpectomy. She took radiation treatments and aside from the time it took it didn't interfere with anything. I'll bet she makes that trip and you have a great time.

Thankfully, it sounds like your mom's mammogram helped catch this one early on. Best wishes to her on her treatment..

Don't forget, you will need to be faithful with your own checkups since some strains of breast cancer can run in families. I am not an expert, but I have heard of this many times. Take care..

Great news on early stages......hopefully they will treat it aggressively and she will do well. Hugs to you, stay strong for your Mom.

Sorry to hear that it was cancer, but glad to hear it's early stage. I guess your plans will be up in the air for the next while.
