We are considering traveling to WDW by air versus driving, but I sure would like a really cheap fare for my family of 5 (2 adults,3 kids- 4,8,10 year olds). We actually live in Chattanooga, but know that flights out of Atlanta are almost always cheaper. Any thoughts for good sources for cheap rental cars also ?
Thanks
Can't wait until October 19th !!!!!!!

Airtran had prices around 168 or so per person from Atlanta. Delta was 187 or so.

If you're willing to go to Birmingham (which we do and we live near Atlanta--it's worth the 2 hr drive sometimes) it looks like Southwest has a $100 roundtrip fare.

Last year we flew to Orlando and this year we drove. Really, we didn't mind the drive even with 3 and 6yo ds's. I felt it saved us money and we didn't have to worry about airport security measures and leaving home 2 hours early for that. We live in Atlanta and last year we got a $39 flight each way. I haven't seen Orlando that low this year. One the way down we stayed in southern GA and we drove straight through on the way back. We didn't have the expense of a rental car either.

I also live in Chattanooga. For the past 2 yrs, I have been able to book a flight from Nashville to Orlando on Southwest for our September trip for less than $100 per person (including all taxes/fees). Southwest usually announces the sale just after July 4th. The airport in Nashville is smaller and less crowded than Atlanta, which is an added bonus to us. Since all the other airlines have been struggling so mightily after 9/11, I don't know if they will have the same sale this year or not.
We are expecting our second child in Sept, so no trip for us this fall anyway. Good luck.
