Oh, glad it's not just me that left this to the last minute.......

We had 3 to renew and simply could not afford to get them all in one go, so it's been one at a time, with a bit of drama over the delivery guy not being able to find our post box :confused3 and having to phone to arrange another delivery.

Because it was a 'second attempt' they insisted that I must sign, not my dh (even though they normally just put them through the post box) so.......as I could not get the day off work, they agreed to deliver to my office and ended up letting the girl that sits at the front desk sign for it?????

Anyway, I've got them all now - panic over - just over 2 weeks to go!!!!!!:cool1:

My DH lost his while we were moving last year. He got his new one and had to take it to work one day(2 weeks before our hol). To cut a long story short he lost it on the hard shoulder of the motorway helping my dad and never realised till he got home!! Went back to the same spot on the motorway, and there it was!!! How lucky were we!!!!:thumbsup2

He was helping my dad who had broke down. It was just lying there on the hard shoulder! Forgot to say he had it in his shirt pocket with his wallet!
I could have killed him!

Passports are a nightmare i got mine about 1 month before we were meant to leave for Orlando in 2005 so you can guess that added stress!

Glad yours have arrived :)

you can fast track your application in a few days but you have to pay a premium for it. I think normally it can take about 3 weeks, especially in busy times.

Have look at the identity and passport service website - hopefully this should help (i've not got a big enough post count to post a link, sorry)

If you do the check and send service at a Post Office, that normally speeds things up. I just got my sons first passport, and it only took 2 weeks for it to come through.

Wow, we're going for the first time as well arriving the same day, July 11 at NB. My kids and mother-in-law don't know yet that we're staying in Paris. We're flying back from Greece and switching planes in Paris for a New York connection back home(so they think). I'm going to surprise the whole family when we arrive at CDG by letting them know that we're extending the family holiday at Disneyland. They're going to be stunned! Can't wait to see the look on everyone's face. Hope your trip is magical.

Mine only took 8 working days through the Post Office Check and send. I was really surprised I thought it would be nearer 3 weeks. I must have been v. lucky but I definitely recommend the Post Office service.

I can't do it until Monday as I need someone to witness my photos (I can't believe how having two kids has aged me so much in ten years - they won't recognise me from my original photo!!:scared1::lmao:) - If I get it sent by middle of next week, I will still have 4 and half weeks, so fingers crossed I'll be ok!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
