I feel really stupid that I should have known......but several of our gifts ended up being tossed in the trash at MCO by the TSA screeners. We didn't know that you could not carry on the snow globes in carryon luggage. I didn't want to place them in checked bags because I didnt want them broken. Since Magical Express only got us to the airport 20 minutes before departure time, we did not have time to go back and check a bag with them in it, so into the trash they went by the screeners!

I'm really disappointed,my son purchased an Alice in Wonderland globe for a friend and i've tried all morning to find one like it on line - and of course - not to be found!

Anything with more than 3 oz of liquid must go in your suitcase and sent through as checked baggage.

Think about having them mailed to your home. We purchased several items - many breakable - from the WDW Christmas store last year and asked the clerk to mail them to our home. It was not very costly and the gifts arrived very quickly and were all in one piece! It is something to consider.

OMG that is horrible. The airlines should have the capacity to send the gifts to you COD. I know there could be an argument that there are too many people to do that for, but come on. I bet those screeners take home a lot of cool gifts.

When i was at WOD last week there was a sign warning people traveling by air that snowglobes would not be allowed on the planes. I don't remember the details but thought it was odd at first. Of course I don't have to fly to WDW so I had no idea there were restrictions like that!

My DH's aunt tried to carry a snowglobe on. TSA at MCO sent her to the Disney Store in the airport and they packed it for her to ship it home.

Just an FYI, the receipts from merchandise stores from WDW state right on them about carrying on:

"As a reminder, the Department of Homeland Security does not allow liquids or gels, including snowglobes through the security screening point or in the cabin of the aircraft."

A liquid is a liquid. If you knew about the 3 oz limitation on liquids, then you knew about the snowglobes.....

Just a note to anybody else who encounters this. Rather that throw away your snow globe, walk it over to the Disney Store in the airport right near security. They can wrap and ship it to your home for pretty reasonable rates just like the stores at the parks and resorts would.
