I have 12 sit down reservations while staying for 9 nights. I realize I will be paying oop for some meals. Do I use my table service credits till they run out, or can I pick and choose which ones I pay oop? Do I just tell the server I'm not on the dining plan if I pick which meals I want to pay for?? Also, any suggestions on what to pay oop ~ I'm thinking def. the breakfasts.
These are my reservations in order that we are going to them:
Boma Dinner
Ohana dinner
Tusker House Breakfast
Kona Café dinner
Yak and Yeti dinner
Teppan Edo dinner
1900 Park Fare dinner
Le Cellier dinner
Crystal Palace dinner
Cinderella’s Castle breakfast
Chef Mickey’s dinner
Biergarten lunch

You can pick the ones you pay for with credits - which means if you wish you can pay OOP for the least expensive ones.
Make sure you tell the server you will be paying cash.

We have done this several times. I just always make sure the server knows up front that we are cash customers. I have a Kona Cafe addiction (actually a Tonga Toast addiction) that needs to be fed each time I visit. We use cash for this meal since it tends to be much less expensive than our other TS meals and seems a waste of a good TS credit.
You should go to allears.com and look at the menus and prices of the restaurants that you have picked and see what you think will be best use of your TS credits. It would be easy for me to say one way or the other, but what I might order could be VERY different from what you might order (and the prices could be just as different.)

I think you actually need 13 credits for those meals, cause CRT is a 2 credit meal. And, I understand that if you are going to pay OOP that you should do so for this one, as it would be cheaper to pay for this than for 2 other TS meals.
So, if you pay for that OOP, you would have 11 meal credits left. After that I would probably pay for the other Breakfast and the lunch.

Thanks, that confirmed what I was thinking. I was unsure of whether to pay cash for the CRT breakfast with it being 2 credits.

I would also price out how much you are going to be paying oop, it might be worth it to upgrade to deluxe.
I would also plan the OOP for the end of the trip, just in case you wind up canceling some places. It would suck to pay OOP then have left over credits.

Don't forget the Castle breakfast counts as 2 TS instead of 1. I would definitly pay for both breakfasts oop. Not sure about the 3rd one since I haven't eaten at some of these.

I'd pay cash. The price for CRT is $34.99 plus tax and tip thats bascially figures to $17.50 per credit. You'd get better value of the credits at another restaurant. I would also pay OOP for Tusker House and Biergarten. Its about $21 for adults and $12 for kids. You figure any other TS will be more than this.

I would probably just use your credits till you run out. Anything can happen really - you miss a time, they mess up a reservation, you start feeling "not so hot" - maybe you (or other party members) just aren't hungry when it comes time for one - you never know. You'd hate for any table meals to go unused...
