Introducing myself

Hi everyone! I thought I would take a minute to tell you a little about myself after being "introduced" on last week's podcast! My name is Leah Zanolla and I live in west central Illinois. I am married to David and we have two adorable little boys- Jacob is 3 and Jonah is 1.

After both going to WDW several times as kids, David and I thought it would be the perfect honeymoon- thus beginning our shared love of the World. We have been there together several times in the years since and enjoy ourselves more every time. We are really having fun passing on this love to our kids- Jacob tells everyone he meets about his trips to Disney and how everyone should stay at the "Pop Century Resort Hotel."

I visit all the boards, but I feel like the DIS Unplugged board is my "home." It's like a big family and it's great to be a part of it. I've been on the boards for years(one half of DavidandLeahZ), but have not been a frequent poster. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone more as I get more involved and I’m sure you'll be hearing more from me!

We live in Carthage- right where Illinois, Iowa and Missouri meet. Decatur is a couple hours away, but I've been there before- I had a friend go to college there. I'm not on facebook yet, but will be in a few days. I just use my husband's account right now, but he's tired of me hijacking it, so he's making me get my own!

I have a brief Illinois connection. I was telling David that I worked in Chicago (@Northwestern) for a year between undergrad and grad school. The highlight of that year was getting a part-time job as an usher at Wrigley Field - such a great place.

So I just have one question for you, what did David do that caused you to push him out of the plane?

Oh gosh - put me on the spot! I think Calico Cat is still there - I don't do the shops on Seminary very often - sometimes at Christmastime when I'm having trouble finding something (usually for my mother) I'll try them. They do have a store called Toys and Teachers (or something like that) my son goes to all the time (he's studying to be an Elementary Teacher)

For the last several years (15 or more) my husband's uncle has owned the bowling alley/restaurant at Biggsville - Country Fun. They sold it within the last year. We didn't get over there often, but always enjoyed it when we did.

Robert Morris still has an office here- our babysitter works there. The campus has been bought by a local company and is being remodeled for several different purposes. We have been in Galesburg a lot lately- our son just got tubes in his ears and we had to go to a doctor there.

Since I was going to be so close to Galesburg, I was thinking of checking out Seminary Street - Haven't been there in quite a while. Someone from Illinois! We live in the central part of the state just south of Champaign in a tiny, tiny town. We should have an Illinois meet sometime. The only one I have ever seen on the boards was for people in the Chicagoland area. We are about 3 hours south of Chicago. I know where Carthage is though because my best friend and her husband grew up there and we have visited with them several times. Unfortunately, she passed away abaout 10 years ago (very young).
