Hi Everyone,

After reading Dave's blog on being a Voluntoruist for GKTW I was wondering if anyone going to Dis a Palooza would want to do a meet and voluteer for a half day or so at GKTW. I think it would be another great way to give back and see what we have all togther raised so much money for!! We will need to wait and see what the crew has planned for us and then go from there but is anyone else intrested?!?

We (DGf Susan and I) were planning to do something like this. I'll be surprised if we don't get a group... :thumbsup2

That's a great idea. I had been thinking of trying to get a group together for the marathon weekend in January, but I didn't think of DIS-a-palooza. Probably because I just haven't thought much about DIS-a-palooza yet since nothing official has been announced.

DIS-A-Palooza is an event the podcast crew and Dreams Unlimited are putting on. It was to initially coincided with MouseFest, but since MouseFest is not happening this year...it became DIS-A-Palooza!

Lorie - I missed your post too. But I also only confirmed with my employer this week that I was able to get the time off to be a part of DAP. Do YOU want to organize it then? :flower3:

Ha - would have no idea where to begin. Picking the date will be the first task. I'm sure the perfect day will be obvious when we have dates for other events.

No problem - I think everyone's mind was on cruise at the time. I'm a good indian but lousy chief. I think volunteering at GKTW during the holidays is an excellent way to remember how we are truly blessed.

That would be great Dave. We are still waiting for the DIS A PALOOZA announcement to come up with an actual date and time but any info or heads up you can do would be great.

I am officially IN! Pending details.

I think I am going to have 2 podcast meets this weekend...hopefully...so I have no idea how to do the timing...I think our Saturday is going to be pretty full? :confused3

Are you guys planning on staying into the week? Where we could do this on Monday? or even Tuesday?

I can actually go to GKTW at any time, because I am a former wish family...so don't plan around me...because I have been there several times...but I would love to help with this.

My weekend is full also with plans from two forums - maybe more. I was planning on leaving on Monday but if you twist my arm real hard, I could change to leaving on Tuesday.

How does Mon AM sound to people.. then those of us who want to take PM flights can. Can someone shead some light on how volunteering works.. how many hours should we put aside?

PS.. I do not care who organizes this I just wanted to get the idea out there

Monday is good for me but Dave posted on the main DAP thread that he was going to check into Sat as our GKTW day. I can do alot of shifting to do Sat. but Monday would be easier.

OK, I'm lost. I looked around on the main unplugged board and couldn't find a thread other than the DATW and John's sticky. Is it someplace else?

duh. :headache: What I read was "Dave posted on the main DAP thread" - what I thought I read was "Dave posted a DAP thread" so I was looking for a DAP thread started by Dave. Maybe that second cup of coffee wouldn't have been such a bad idea after all :surfweb:

Oh, and either date could work for me. Off to start a "when are coming/leaving" thread....
