Friar Tuck seems to get everywhere Lols - on the last day my three were having a picture taken with Robin Hood (a first for us) and he muscles in on the end, bless him!
I've been transferring video from my camcorder to the hard drive of the computer, have done 2003 and edited that, burned it to a DVD, now working on 2006 - it was fun watching stuff I'd forgotten about although it's made me 'homesick' Lols

We felt we were being stalked by Friar Tuck on one trip as he was everywhere we went
mommy2ash
08-26-2009, 04:47 PM
he seriously made our meal though. there were a group of very enthusiastic adults next to us who spent ages with the characters and then when they came to our table they would drag them back for more. ash was in hysterics crying for goofy but they kept stealing him. so friar tuck spent nearly our whole meal with us. he kept coming back over and playing with ash and he even went and got her a yoghurt drink.

My summer holidays finish next week and I am due back in work on Thursday.:sad2: I have been popping in to do the odd hour here and there to get things ready for the start of term, but officially the school office is closed until Thursday. I was a bit miffed then to find the Head had been telling parents I would be in this week and they should ring me up with queries. :headache:
Firstly it kind of defeats the object of me catching up, if parents knows we are in the office and secondly it puts me under pressure to definitely go in, instead of 'as and when' it fits in with my holiday schedule.

I had this problem, I ended up doing a few times and still got the error page so couldn't print it. I rang them and they said they had several applications from me! I think when you fill it in online they get a copy of it and then you just need to print and sign it to post in with your proof of shares.
They told me over the phone they would just accept the online app they had received (didn't have to sign anything!) and all I had to do was scan my proof of shares and email it to them - so easy, can't remember now if I then phoned to check they'd got the proof ok or if they emailed me back, but it all worked out ok.
So I'd give them a ring - they do speak english, although the first person I spoke to went to get someone else - think it was my brummie accent:rotfl:

Just spent ages typing a reply and it's gone!! ARghh
Sonya - glad you got sorted - puts people off when it's not even easy!!!
Hildasmuriel - is it done yet then? :rotfl2:
Had a nightmare today, long story but DD2 ended up in A&E with a huge bump on her head. She cracked her head on the road. She was in her pushchair (strapped in) on the path by the road where I'd parked. I went to grab my bag out of the car and next thing she is screaming in the road with her against the road and the pushchair almost on top of her. When I lifted them up she'd really cracked her head  I took her into the nearest place (where I'd be going) and a first aider got an ice pack and advised us to go to A&E. Traffic was horrific and I was stuck for ages. Was eventually seen in A&E - not great with two hungry kids! They said if it weren't for the ice pack her head would have split from the bump - it was like an egg! So now she has a v grazed face and huge bump - she seems OK in herself - I just feel so guilty and sick. She was definately on the path - I can only think she's leaned right over and the pushchair has toppled off the kerb. They've told me to rouse her a couple of times tonight to make sure she's OK. :scared1: Not great when we are due to travel on Sun - hoping she'll be OK by then if not sporting a huge bruise and graze!
Honestly, my luck really does have to change soon. I've had such a hard time recently with the girls and things going wrong in general :sad2::sad1:

Had a lovely day here today, we went to Old Trafford for a couple of hours, followed by a trip to PCWorld where we purchased some scrapbook software and a portable hard drive for DD2 - then it was on to B&Q to get the barcodes for wallpaper and paint to give to the firm responsible for repairing the kitchen. What's the betting they will decide to start on Thursday when I go back to work when they've had the past 4 weeks to do something!!

ash absolutely adores it. she doesnt want to leave when i come and collect her and doesnt even say goodbye in the mornings :rotfl: she is only ever around adults so this is great for her. although her teacher did call me aside to say ash is very stubborn and doesnt like to be told what to do. i was on my way out the door so i didnt have time to ask her what had happened but ash was very upset on the way home. she started crying and said the teacher was screaming at her. this i highly doubt as ash is a big softie. with me i could scream my head off but if another adult says boo to her she gets really upset lol. but she was fine the next day again and couldnt wait to get it. i guess they all have their days lol

Ha! Ha! That sounds familiar! I have had a similar conversation, Isabelle can be quite determined too, and quite often she needs to be "persuaded" to do what you want! I think it's quite normal. :thumbsup2
Once they establish a better relationship I'm sure she'll be fine. They will need to learn what "works" with Ash, how best to enagage with her. I'm sure they see it all the time!
Isabelle's teacher said that it's something they are going to work on, but that they don't expect them to be perfect or for their behaviour to change overnight - they are only 2 after all! Very reassuring to hear! :goodvibes

awww she sounds just like ash. she will be fine. honestly i have been worried about this all summer long. especially the toilet arangement ash they have a normal sized toilet with a plastic step. i didnt think ash would be able to use it but she told me that she did and she said dont worry mammy there is a step in the toilet :lmao: if only she said that to me months ago. anyways it turned out i worried for nothing. isabelle will love it to. there are only a couple of kids left who are finding it hard in ashleighs class but they will get there too

Need yr advice guys. Just been talking to my Mum and she says she thinks I should email DLRP about the service we received in the DLH at the start of our stay i.e. no cot in the room (we arrived at 7.20 pm and DD2 was already beside herself with tiredness), and waiting an hour for our luggage despite me ringing to chase it up (I need sheets and stuff for cot!)....
What would you do? Would you bother? I do think they should be pulled up about this kind of thing esp as it supposedly their 'best' hotel in the resort.
PS - Maybe I should also mention the dead plants around the corridors that were left for days on end? :rotfl2: And the fact that you now get a poured 'cup' of coffee/tea at breakfast as opposed to a 'cafetiere' left on your table like last year :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Patsy i complained about the service there, and if what happened to you happened to me i would complain again. I waited over 4 hours for them to bring my luggage to the room i was not impressed, found the CM's rude and completley uniformed which lead to me arguing with the Disney express guy on the return leg home.
Its a shame that standards seem to be slipping esp in the DLH, these little things have made me think twice about booking there again.

Emma - I have to agree to some extent. I honestly did not go looking for 'issues' but did seem to notice them- I didn't notice any last time at all. I mean you don't expect to see dead plants (and I mean like completely drooping over their pots!) for days on end - maybe I should have reported it - I saw it on two different levels by the lifts. Not good!
The hotel was busy but not peak busy so there wasn't an excuse and the lack of cot and luggage meant one tired and screaming baby. It also meant us being much later into the park than we'd hoped (Mum stayed behind to keep an eye on DD2 asleep, while the rest of us went into the park)....

Evening Diane - :scared1: about your kitchen
Ive just been reminded that I did 3 not 2. I did the Runaway mine train (similar to BTM but milder) which is the one I forgot. Also Rattlesnake and Vampire. I wasnt too sure if I wanted to do vampire or not but after queuing for 45mins decided Id be brave enough to do it and actually found it better than Rattlesnake.
I also loved the logflume - I did that twice
However Im still not as brave as you Diane as Ive still not done an upside down one

I think unless they are told about these things then how can they improve there service.
I didn't want to complain but those things that happened to me really upset me, I was so terrified i wasnt going to get my luggage back etc. I was grateful they sent DD a present to say sorry about the balloon mixup.

I am very impressed with you Small World, well done!
As for my kitchen, this has been going on since our return from DLP (we had a leak whilst we were away, lovely to come back to all the damage!) - course I've been off for 6 weeks and when do they decide to start the work? Yes as soon as I go back!
Anyhow, ceiling now taken out, electric has been sorted thanks to my cousin who is an absolute star! Hopefully on Monday the plaster board will be up, it will be plastered and then they have the decorator booked in from Wednesday - then my cousin will come and fit the new spotlights, all I have to do after that is get the flooring sorted, the insurance won't cover it as it's carpet and they say it's enough just to send someone to clean it. The carpet has been down for over 15 years and it needs replacing so I've told them not to bother!

Slightly worried now, do the characters at DLRP not talk??? :confused3 Or is it that they don't speak English? Or is it just the ones in costumes with heads IYKWIM?!!
As for Santa Claus :santa: as far as I know he speaks every language, he is a very well travelled fellow you know! Or at least, the one in "Miracle on 34th Street" was. He even knew sign language. :lmao: Would also love a trip to Harrods Grotto, I bet it's fab!! We usually take DD to the one at our local church Christmas Fayre, really cheap, no queues, and they have a real sleigh that you get to sit on! I was scarred for life by a visit to Santa as a child, he said that I could have a Barbie doll, but when I unwrapped it, it was a cheap doll, not a Barbie, I was so upset, I cried all the way home and then cut all the doll's hair off! :rotfl2:

Jackie - really hope all is well with your town and the flood was averted!?
I've been sorting out the girls' clothes all day today. Have filled 2 charity bags and have a few designer bits to sell! Need some advice really - was thinking of selling the Thumper baby sleepsuit I bought last year from DLRP for DD2 for Christmas Eve (the girls alway have new jammies for Christmas Eve). It's basically a red velvety/velour sleepsuit with Thumper embroidered on the front with a Santa hat on - it's sooo cute. I had to get a 2 years one for her as she's a big girl and the French sizing is sooo small. Any ideas on what I could ask for it price wise - I can't recall what it cost but I know it was expensive! Anyone know how much those kind of things cost in DLRP?
So, I've packed up their t-shirts/cropped trousers/summer stuff and then DH tells me it's going to be hot next week - I hope he's joking :scared1::rotfl2:
Buttercup - how are you now?

They struggled with the heat and getting up early. There was so much we missed and didn't do because i just couldn't get them motivated. I am sure if they had their way they would have sat round the pool everyday and not done any of the parks.
The day i went to MK on my own was fab, i went on BTM, Splash Mountain, Buzz lightyear, IASW, Haunted Mansion and POTC. Got my photo taken with Goofy and Donald and walked around taking in all the atmosphere. I actually really enjoyed walking round on my own.

Aww bless you Poppie :) I can appreciate how you feel looking back. I've just been reading your PTR and it seemed like you had a lot of plans! I have to say I'd love to do WDW one day - not until my girls are a good deal older though, but the planning scares me to death as there seems so much to take in/do!!
Mum to Belle - have you made any t-shirts or anything then? Read somewhere about your carpet??? :rolleyes1 I didn't get any made - good old Asda came in a treat for stuff for the girls :)

Evening all, taken myself up to bed with the laptop as everyone else has gone to bed as well and nothing on TV that interests me! DD2 is out babysitting, no idea until what time though.

We had a great time thanks but an exhausting one - doing London, Chessington and the historic ships in Portsmouth in 3 days was a lot but we had such good fun with a lot of laughing and giggling. DD loved it and it was great meeting up with Rob as well.

The girls don't want to go back :scared1: but i definately am even if i have to go on my own.
Maybe you'll get an invite from Emma to Kyla's wedding!!!!!! :rotfl:

Nope, I'm just THAT bad at ironing that I dropped it on the carpet - now I just try and buy clothes that don't need to be ironed!! :lmao:
I'm hoping to do a pillow case for DD (sounds simple enough right?!!) and maybe a Tshirt for me. I'd really LOVE to do one of the autograph books - they're amazing!:lovestruc No idea when I'd find the time though and it would probably look rubbish! Have bought a bunch of Disney Tshirts in the Next sale though, Pluto, Minnie, Mrs Potts & Tinkerbell PJs from Tesco!
