Marriott Grande Vista or Horizons info

Interested in renting at either Marriott Grande Vista or Horizons Nov. 22 - 30, 2002. Either a 1 or 2 bdrm. We are Marriott Rewards members but the best that I found on the Marriott site was $174 p/n for a 1 bdrm. Found a 2bdrm on Expedia for $179 p/n. Also took at look at the tug2.org site, there were some listings for our time frame but still not sure how these transactions work. Any ideas on where to look for a better rate or should I just book through Expedia? Anyone purchased rentals through the tug2.org site and had a negative experience?

I've rented from this guy (Glenn) before. I'd bet he could get you into either resort for less than $850 for 7 nights, including tax. He can probably upgrade you to Cypress Harbour for $50 more

My advice is to search the internet for various timeshare rental classifieds to find an owner who wants to rent out their week. Contact them even if they list a weekly price of $700 or whatever, because they may be willing to go down. I got the Marriott Grande Vista, 1 bedroom, for $390/week doing this.
