So I got my sleep from the last download. :surfweb: Holy Cow - TRs are so not for lazy people. :lmao: Note to self.

So here we are. Last minute trip. Birthday. Scored Standard Studio last minute. Yes! :wizard:

I adore Standard view. Shhhh, you didn't hear that. No one else needs to love the peace, tranquility and low points. popcorn:: No one.

So here we are - Boardwalk, Boardwalk and Boardwalk.

Okay,

Hmmm. Where should I start?

I spent so much time the first day - and after - sitting and roaming on the BW porch. I so love it there. So love it.

It's like it has the feeling like something magical could happen any second. Really.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1316.jpg

I think a lot of people just use it as an exit. When it's really exquisite.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1319.jpg

And what would MY vacation be without rocking chairs? :lmao:

So the BW porch. Memories.

I can't even tell you how many BW Bakery Fruit Plates and Brownies I ate there - simultaneously :lmao: - getting in all my food groups. :goodvibes

So later I went off to walk the big circle.

Yes, I was midway down the second L O N G hallway. :goodvibes

I never understand the issues with that. But I've lived downtown for almost 10 years - so I guess walking is well - nice.

So, I spent the first day doing nothing - lovely nothings. And then I went to Kidani to sneak in.

You know Kidani and the windows I could eat.....

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1609-1.jpg

and the rocking chairs .......

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1363-1.jpg

And of course, most importantly, the bathrooms/washrooms/restrooms :lmao:

And yes I refrained from taking washroom vacation photos at the BW.

Oh... I love it there. I have never stayed at the villa's ONLY in the resort paying CM rates at the time. But I love to stay here, and when I saw the pictures.... OH MAN
when you are inside in the inner courtyard, there are some 2 story looking places with the picket fences.. What are those? Are those some of the villas???? They look so cute, and I want to see what is in them

Bobbi:goodvibes

Well here's the funny! :lmao:

I only took three pictures of my suite. And here's two of them. :rotfl:

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1558.jpg

These I got for my birthday. It was my 42nd birthday and I have never ever received flowers - as in N E V E R. Really. They're beautiful, eh? :lovestruc

So clap for me. No really CLAP for me!!!!! :cheer2::lmao:;)

But I also received this - 2nd important suite photo. :rotfl:

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1563.jpg

Now, I'm not quite sure which one I loved more.

So let's line them up. Gosh, I should do a DVC poll.

Poll: Which one would you like more?

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1559.jpg

You know I choose the rum. You know why. Flowers are beautiful but the rum - well it's a birthday gift that keeps on giving. :rotfl2:

But kind of makes the beautiful Boardwalk look like this -

Oh know eh minniemoms? They look so precious. They are the cottages. They are on the CRO - cash side of the BW resort (not the Villas). I would love to see inside them as well. I should have taken some pictures. Shoot.

So this one night the sky changed really quickly. The "only in Orlando" sky change.

But perfect night to take pictures.

At first it was just a tad overcast -

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1297.jpg

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1462.jpg

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1480.jpg

And then it just kept building and building....

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1494.jpg

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1309.jpg

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1476.jpg

Until finally it became quite ominous - acutally looked like the Yacht Club was on fire -

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1474.jpg

But - here's the beauty afterward -

Lord, let's just say my birthday was a comedy of errors. :lmao:

It was the Saturday. And I'm not a woman with plans - obviously, eh? But I did want to go dancing. And dancing had to fit in between TNT's coverage of the NBA playoffs at ESPN. Nothing was going to stop me from seeing that.

Anyway, dancing never happened. :sad2:

Here's why. Two options. Friday night going into Saturday birthday. Or Saturday night.

Friday night my vacation mate Jean was supposed to land at 9:25 pm. Plenty of time for Atlantic Dance. Plenty. :lmao:

So guess what I spent by early birthday doing. Standing out the front of the BW waiting and waiting.

She arrived at 3:00 am. Yep, three in the morning!!:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

So no dancing.

The next day was beautiful.

Went for a free ride on the MGM - geez whatever it's called Hollywood Studios - boat.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1573.jpg

Had to sit outside and risk a burn. So hot inside. So hot.

So I have no idea where we were going. Forget. Oh Kidani.

Then we come back and I want to show her the Open House at SSR. I've seen the BLT rooms but she hasn't.

And she didn't. :lmao:

Lord, the DD bus from BW. I swear it's cursed. It's like a flippin' milk run. Waited and waited and gave up getting there before seven.

So we did DD for awhile but took another route.

So then I want to see Wishes from the Poly beach.

Here's the Poly earlier in the trip -

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1455.jpg

And we get right on a bus. We're going to make it JUST in time. :cheer2:

Oh no. We have a bus driver with a heart of gold . My luck. :rotfl: He stops and talks to some vacationers strolling the CR walkway. Twice. :rotfl: And then finally picks them up.

And takes them to the TTC. :lmao:

Lord. What a birthday. Get to the fireworks about halfway through.

So I'm like crap - Wishes over so quickly. Darn that nice bus driver.

Oh forgot - earlier in the evening I almost had a birthday meltdown because my camera stopped working at DD and I thought my picture card was gone. On the edge with that.

But there is always Ghiradelli free chocolate for such emotional instability. :rotfl2:

So Wishes is over and I think "I'm just going to rest in a Poly hammock before I make my way back to dancing".

Lovely night. Lovely hammock. How I love napping in a hammock. Lovely breeze. Lovely hour or so. Perfect.

Bad choice!!:lmao:

I somehow decide to take the monorail instead of the boat. And guess what happens?

We get trapped on the monorail. It doesn't move for a long, long time. I'd say between 30 minutes and an hour.

And this is what Jean decides to do. Happy Birthday to me!

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1524.jpg

I was fine. It really stopped at the perfect spot. In between the GF and the MK. Glorious views. Relaxing. Although I do look like I've had too much rum here. :dance3:

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1525.jpg

It's my birthday after all!:lovestruc

So we finally are freed. And there are twenty or so of us too late for the MK buses. So we amuse ourselves as we know best. Taking pictures of each other.

And this one I thought would be a nice pic of the two of us - but oh no. She's thinking where the heck is our bus?

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1538.jpg

So finally they bus pools us all. Two buses I think. Gotta love Disney. They really take care of us.

First stop - SSR! SSR! :scared1::laughing: Long bus ride home. But relieved to be moving again. I think she's saying, "It's your birthday. It's near one. And you're so screwed". Just kidding.;)

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee41/lisaviolet/101_1541.jpg

And we get to the BW somewhere around two I think. Still dancing time :dance3:- but not.

Funny birthday.

But who can complain? I'm at WDW!!!!:cool1:

The next day I made the best choice. Didn't schedule a flight until 7:30 pm. I've done that a couple of times now. Stored our luggage and had a beautiful day.

Had lunch at Kidani's bar. Went to DD and then simply hung out on the Boardwalk. Lovely.

BW Inn garden suites. They only have one king bed and one sofa bed, they are more of a Honeymoon suite or couples getaway, beautiful though.

The only disadvantage to them is they are so far away from the concierge lounge which is in the main building on the 4th floor.

Also not a great area when it rains, you get wet trying to get back into the main building.

I LOVE your pictures... They are beautiful.... I love staying at the BW
I own at SSR and I have only stayed at SSR once but I have stayed at BW and Beach and Yacht Club and I love the Epcot resorts..... When we went to buy, they didn't have have BW or Beach for sale, and didn't know about resale things so we just bought at SSR. Which has been great, we have used them at DL...
But know we own at Grand Villas so I can't wait.. Maybe I will have to sell the SSR someday and buy more at GV....

Wow, I would think they are so peaceful.

Yes they are very peaceful and quiet. We just did not have good weather, it stormed alot and we got soaked every time we went to the main building, there is no cover to get under. It was really a hassle to get to the lounge.

But they are beautiful, I would just suggest booking one when the weather is nicer.

I sold one of my SSR contracts to get BWV and lost points to break even money wise. I love having BWV. But it's funny - I've only used the booking window once in four years. :lmao: Too ridiculous. i definetely agree.....i remember ions ago, walking along the BW, immersed in that "feeling" it gives, incredibly envious of those lucky people looking down at us from their balconies.

Gorgeous photos - I LOVE the Boardwalk! We stayed in the Garden/Cottage Suites for our wedding. I don't have many pics loaded, but here are a few since some posters were asking about them...

The lower level (don't mind the mess). You can see part of the front door in the left of the pic. The stairs and TV are just out of shot on the right. The little alcove in the background has a half-bath and counter with fridge underneath.
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a181/princessbride6205/SuiteDS.jpg

The stairs (complete with handsome DH!):
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a181/princessbride6205/ajosh.jpg

Can't find any upstairs pics, but it has a king bed, armoire, bathroom with large stall-style shower and separate jacuzzi tub.

I can personally attest to trekking thru the rain to the concierge lounge, wearing a wedding veil to boot:

Loved your post. Just loved it.:lovestruc It took me right back when I did the same thing. Just stared at the BWV suites and said, "Congratulations everyone. Good for you." And thought one day! One day!

I was determined to wait to pay in full. And a lot of people say they wish they had joined sooner. Not me. That ten years of dreaming - it was a special time too. I look back on sitting on the BW porch, staring at the VWL, hanging out at OKW and dreaming as beautiful memories as well.

So many thank you's for not only the magnificent photos of my beloved Boardwalk but for invoking all those special memories for so many of us here. I also just did one of those spontaneous trips and did just about nothing....it was fabulous. Thanks for sharing....

So sweet. Thank you.

I know. There is nothing like doing nothing at WDW.

Great pics....thanks so much for sharing!

You're welcome. Thanks for viewing.

The stairs (complete with handsome DH!):

Can't find any upstairs pics, but it has a king bed, armoire, bathroom with large stall-style shower and separate jacuzzi tub.

I can personally attest to trekking thru the rain to the concierge lounge, wearing a wedding veil to boot:

To the OP - hope this was okay to post in your thread. :goodvibes

Okay? :lmao:;)

princessbride - of course it's okay.

I was thrilled to see the pictures. Just thrilled. Thank you so much for that. I would love to see a full picture of your dress. Lovely.

It looks like you're a celebrity with a security posse in the umbrella photo. Wait! Are you a celebrity? :lmao::rotfl:;)

Just like I imagined. Looks very peaceful.

Thanks again,

Lisa
