We're leaving next weekend for our trip and are planning on spending an evening at Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk. I can't seem to find a menu anywhere... Someone told us there's no real bar food there, only popcorn. Seriously? A piano bar without deep-fried anything? Is this true? This is madness!
We'd also like to see Yehaa Bob Jackson one night--where in Port Orleans does he perform? Is there a cover? Is food and drink available there too?

Yeppers- it's true! There's a $10 cover to get in and you had better be there by 8:30 - 9:00 if you want to be able to get a seat. No food other than the stale popcorn is available to the patrons.
I have to clue about the second part of your question regarding Bob- Sorry!

I suspect you will be spending more than one night at Jellyrolls. It is addicting.

Bob performs at Riverside's River Roost bar, and there is no cover charge. For his schedule, check his web site here: http://yehaabob.com/default.asp
Well worth the time spent! We love Bob! :goodvibes

The River Roost is just off the lobby at POR. Yehaa Bob is alot of fun.
AllEars shows an appetizer menu but it is from 2005. We did not eat when we went to see him, so I can't tell what they serve.

Jellyrolls has never had food, except popcorn, which is popped fresh every night. There are many restaurants on and around the Boardwalk where you can eat before you go, though...

Bob performs in River Roost bar/lounge. No cover charge.
It's to your right as you enter the lobby from the parking lot.
There are some couches & chairs, some tables & chairs, and of course the bar for seating.
Yes, you can get food - I'm certain about "bar food" such as buffalo chicken nuggets, nachos, and chips. I'm not entirely certain, but I think that a few other things are available.
Boatwrights is right next door & there is usually seating available... but warning, the food ain't that great in this southern lady's opinion.
The food court is very near by. You could also send one person over there for burgers or such & bring it back to River Roost.
Three great bartenders work there :)

I am thinking that going to Jellyrolls might be a fun thing to do our first night in Disney (we don't have park passes our first day). I heard it's a great time, would you all suggest it? We are going to Raglan Road for dinner, but I figure we can take the bus from Downtown Disney after dinner to the Boardwalk and go for drinks and music. What do you all think?

Definitely!! I go every trip, usually more than once, and have always had a great time. I also go solo and have never felt uncomfortable.
Depending on the night of the week, I'd get there by 9ish if you want a table.

Anyone have the drink menu for Jellyrolls?
And, if we get there around 9:30, is there standing room available? We might just stop by for a few drinks.
Bob Jackson performs at the RiverRoost Lounge at POR ... as you enter the lobby from the parking lot, it is to your LEFT.
He usually performs Wed-Sun nights beginning at 8:00 (if my memory serves me correctly). Very minimal appetizers available in the lounge; however, you can bring food in with you from the food court which is nearby. Full drink menu and servers available.
If you enjoy his performance (and who doesn't?), don't forget to tip! You just place your tip on the right side of the piano. Usually once one person does this, then others do it as well.
We try to catch his show every year ... it is fun for both the youngest visitors (children are definitely welcome) all the way to the old folks. He gets EVERYONE involved in the show, so drink up and don't be shy about joining in! It is an evening you will not soon forget and definitely fits well with the Disney theme and vacations!

You'll probably be able to get a table too, just probably not a front row one.
I don't know the drink menu but it's a fully stocked bar with just
about everything (except Mikes Lemonade, they have Smirnoff Ice)
and they have a big red cup special everyday! (anything like Hurricanes, etc)
It's a fun and addicting place!
and I'll be there sooooooon! :cool1:

Jellyrolls is great. Bob is cool too, but really caters to the kids at the bar as much as the parents. (Yes -- kids all over the place.) But it would be a blast if you were drunk enough to let loose and be silly while singing Disney songs and stuff. Go for it. And go for a nice stroll on the sidewalk at POR while you are there.

GreenMonster12: You might also consider late reservation at Ragland Road because they have fantastic entertainment!!

Slip in and see Bob for a bit; then you can take the water taxi to downtown disney to go to Raglan Road.
I will be there in a few months; my fav server is John at the River Roost.

If you don't have kids you might enjoy Elliot Dyson at POFQ, a lot more adult.

Jellyrolls is the best! We're DVC members at the Boardwalk and always go to JR. Don't let the cover charge deter you. We NEVER pay a cover at anywhere we go except Jellyrolls. Its well worth it. You will have a GREAT time!!
