Publix or Walmart location

Anybody out there who can help?? Going in a week. Interested in buying some food and a cooler after arriving at the airport. Staying at the Hard Rock. Wher is the closest place to do this? How can I find directions. I am not at all familiar with the area. We will have a rental car and just want to make a stop before we hit the resort!!!

I can't give you the directions to publix but if you post this at the DVC Forum, I've seen directions for both stores posted there.

Hello gottgotowdw- There is a Super Walmart off of Sandlake Road. It's just a few minutes from the entrance to Universal. I only know of the directions from Turkey Lake road, but I think that Universal Blvd. is a quicker way to Sandlake Rd. It's about 3 miles south of the Sandlake Rd. exit at I4. Hope this helps.

Hello gottgotowdw- Never even noticed your locale till you mentioned it. On our next trip in Jan. 03 we want to stay at the Hard Rock, for a little change of scenery. Please post your views of the hotel when you get back. As for the Walmart. When you exit Universal, you pass a couple of blocks until you reach TurkeyLake Rd. Make a left go to SandLake Rd. and make a left go about 3 miles and Walmart is on your right. Just thought I pass along some info. There is a Hess gas station just passed Universal on TurkeyLake Rd. that sells cigarettes for 25.00 per carton. Name brand too. Sure beats Long Island prices.

Acutally there is an easier Wal-Mart to get to...just up Kirkman Road from Universal. If you are coming out of Universal, take a left on Kirkman...take Kirkman north about 2 miles and the Wal-Mart will be on the left (just after the big MetroWest turn intersection). This Wal-Mart if new...just opened a few months ago.

Publix is on Sand Lake Road at Dr Phillips Blvd. It's in a new shopping plaza with lots of restaurants, a Walgreens and a few banks.

Directions: Go south on Turkey Lake Rd. Turm right and Sand Lake Rd and Publix is on your leftabout 1 block away.
