Hi everyone, first of all this site is great, so much info. especially for newbies like myself!! Myself, hubby, 12yr daughter, 11yr son are hoping to book in this July probably around the 5th but I am so confused :confused3

Where should we stay? (none of like walking that much!!)
Will it be mega busy?
How long do we need to stay for to get the most out of our trip?
Should we go half board?

So many things to think about, my husband thinks you just go on disney website and book it - SIMPLE - if only!!

Be great to hear from any of you, thanks for now

I would look into either the Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay or Hotel New York - they're all fairly close while also being reasonably priced (SL is furthest and cheapest but still not too bad to walk). The walk will also take you through the village and past the restaurants and shops so you can call in there to break it up a little if needed.

Will it be busy - not sure on this one. You're getting into the summer season I think so it won't be quiet, but the park is open longer so you can still get plenty done. If it's the actual full summer, then you'll also get the night parade and fireworks which are lovely and well worth seeing.

How long - depends on the attractions you want and what else you want to do. We usually to around the 4 night mark and that's plenty for us. Other people do as many as 10 nights which is right for them. I'd say around the 4 night mark should be enough to see and do almost everything though.

Half board - if you're eating 1 table service every day then it's possibly worth it though it depends how many of you want to eat a la carte compared to buffets or set menus. It's no longer the amazing deal it once was, but it's still worth it if you do set menus and buffets a lot.

If you want sante fe or cheyenne remember there are also shuttles to and from park if you dont want to walk.. which will possibl be quite bust this time of year... but your children are older and you wont have buggies etc, so shouldnt be a problem for you.

Personally I loved starting and finishing the day with a walk along the river to the hotel, its a pretty walk... and doesnt take long even with 2 young children.

Hi Lori

Don't know where your traveling from but easyjet have been coming up with good prices leaving from Edinburgh. Remember to play around with your dates on the disney site sometimes changing your date by a day or two can get you offers.

According to the brochure, high summer season at DLRP this year runs from 4th July right through to 30th August.

So yes, fireworks and evening parade from then on, every day :goodvibes.

I must get a brochure! I thought everything i needed to know would be on their website but it seems not.

Does it say what times the parades /fireworks start and finish?

They wont publish the times until nearer the time - probably about the day before the summer season starts but the fireworks are usually as the park is closing so 10/11pm and Fantillusion about an hour before

hi all, i'd just like to thank you all for your comments, most appreciated, i'm thinking about Hotel New York, flying from Aberdeen. This will be a totally new experience for us so don't know what to expect at all, will it be really really busy July 5th to 10th - does anyone know?? Also what's the weather like at that time of year, I've been to Paris before but it was April and was pouring rain the whole time!! Just need to convince my husband once I've worked out all the prices (he's not too keen on French - no idea why?? - maybe coz he's a fisherman) THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR YOUR INFORMATION - this site is just great I've been on it every night reading all about everyones holidays & dreaming about ours! :cloud9:

We have been at that time of year a couple of times ( First week of Scottish holidays ;)) It is busy but you can still do what you want if you take advantages of the early mornings and the parks are open later in the evening :)

We fly from Aberdeen as well - Do you live far from there?
