Heading out next week and thought I'd check to find discounts of the touristy things to do in the area (Fishermans Wharf, Alcatraz, ect).

Any tips would be appreciated as well. This is my first time and DH is playing tour guide (lived there for 5 years many moons ago). We only have 2 full days to play (Saturday&Sunday).

TIA! :wizard:

How about CityPass? It is $59 and you get:

Muni & Cable Car 7-day Passport
California Academy of Sciences
Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise

Aquarium of the Bay
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
Exploratorium
OR
de Young / Legion of Honor

As a touring plan, I'd check out the 49 mile drive. http://www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com/maps/49miledrive.asp

It's a nice way to hit all the major landmarks and areas on a marked path. Bring a labelled map, though, since some of the markers are not so clearly marked. When we take friends around the city, this is the plan we use. (I'm in the Bay Area.)

The Entertainment Book is another good way to get a discount on attractions and dining. If you're going in 2009, you can get this year's book really cheap.

Along the same lines as the City Pass, there is also the Go Card. It is a little more expensive but offers unlimited admission to many attractions for the length of time you purchase the card. A 2 day card is $79.99.

And as stated, the Entertainment Book is a good option as well.

Thank you both for those ideas. I'll check out the website and talk with DH :)
