I got an email reminder for the June 10th Vacation As You Wish Webcast today. However it just says 8:00 EST. Is it an 8 AM webcast, or is it 8 PM?

Same e-mail says "Remember to keep an eye on your mailbox for your Vacation As You Wish Party in a Box package. It's full of goodies and information you'll need at the Live Webcast." Wonder what that's all about :scratchin:

And yeah, the times were June 10 8pm, June 11 7pm, and June 13 at 10am and 1pm (all Eastern).

We've been considering a DVC purchase for the past year now. I'm excited about the webcast and I too am wondering what's in the box.

Just got the materials for the webcast. Some pretty decent swag. A DVC mouse ears hat, standard BLT brochure, tablet with pad of paper, a pen, and a couple inserts (one with space to write down webcast incentives for specific number of points purchased), some Mickey confetti, and a small DVC mousepad. Very curious about the incentives paper, since I've heard that the current incentives are going away the 15th. Perhaps this is how they'll introduce the new ones? DS has already been running around in the ears.

OK, so, if my Party in a Box doesn't arrive today, I'm not going to have it in time for the webcast (cuz I can't go home before the webcast Wednesday).

Will I be in trouble if I don't have it during the webcast, or will any old notepad do? :cutie:

Current incentives are here:

At the 160-point and 200-point levels, it's $2/point better than the incentive with a referral.

At 270 points, it's $4 cheaper, at 320 it's $5 cheaper, and at 500 it's $7 cheaper per point

I'm pretty sure you CAN buy at AKV and other resorts. They said at the beginning that they were using BLT as an example to keep it simple.

The webcast was geared toward BLT and while they didn't say these were only for BLT, that is the impression that I got.

But, you only qualify for the incentives if you were registered for the webcast. I would call your guide in the AM for sure.

We're members too; wondering too about different Use Year :confused3

Unless my math is incorrect, for an add-on you'd need to purchase 200 or more points to gain any additional savings over pre-webcast incentive {but we don't know for certain that these webcast incentives even apply to add ons; it may be that current members will need a new contract issued to take advantage }

Non-webcast Add-on Incentive is $16 off per pt on 125+ pts so $96

( be assured if we add on at BLT it will not be for 200 pts :scared1:)

These incentives are much better than those at the DVC show we attended in Anaheim a few months ago (-$5/point @ 160, -$7/point @ 200 and 250, -$9/point at 320, etc.), but that was before the current round of incentives that is expiring June 15. Who knows how low it'll go by the time they reach Boston! :lmao:

It was fun to watch the Webcast! :)

I called and asked this question. The answer is no. The only incentive is the discount on points. I actually put my deposit on Thursday for 270 points at BLT. The discount works out to better than what I can get with a referral if I did not take the 1 week cruise, but when I look at the price for the cruise, on the low end it would still cost me an extra $1000 if I took the discount AND paid for the cruise myself, so I am sticking with my cruise. ANd that is based on me going on December 4 which is their lowest season. If I went on November 21 then the savings are over $3,000. But I prefer December 4 because with hopefully fewer people on the ship it will be easier to do the thigns we want!

How many points did you buy?

If you bought 160 points or 200 points, then you got a better deal:

160-point Level: $16/point discount = $2,650 off purchase price

200-point Level: $18/point discount = $3,600 off purchase price

If you bought 270 points or more, the webcast deal is better:

270-point Level: $20/point discount = $5,400 off purchase price

320-point Level: $21/point discount = $6,720 off purchase price

500-point Level: $23/point discount = $11,500 off purchase price

And if you bought between 200 and 270 points, I have no idea! :rotfl:

But the incentives from the event in Anaheim didn't just include dollars off, they also had other incentives like annual passes, RCI trips, ABD trips, so if you add up everything you received it added up to more than just the dollars off.

Arggggh! I'm not even officially a member yet, and I already have addonitis. We were originally going to buy 250 points at BLT for $24,000, however after the webcast I'm now thinking of uping the amount to 270 points. Under the new incentive, the 250 points will cost me $23,500. 270 points would cost me $24,840. So for $1,340 I can get an extra 20 points. That's only $67 per point for those 20 points.

Did you get down to Chicago last weekend to see the models at DtD?

After DW and I talked about DVC, she sounded not interested so I didn't push it. I ended up not pushing her on the issue and just tried to gather more information here on the boards.
During the web cast, I was laid back and just let DVC do the talking. At one point in the show, it was like a light bulb went on for DW. As they talked more, she became the one pursuing it more. She had a bunch of questions for our guide after the show.

While they were talking, I brought up the chart of DVC pricing through the years (thanks to someone here on the boards).

Afterwards, we took the dog for a walk and I mentioned that people have been begging for a monorail DVC resort for years and that's why it's been the fastest selling DVC property ever.

Barring any change of plans, we're talking about coming down on Sunday to see the models.

In the mean time, I'll be giving her plenty of massages and giving her space to think. :cool1:
No pressure or she'll definitely change her mind.

Does anyone know if you can get this pricing if you just bought? I just bought on Saturday and this pricing was never mentioned (of course) I would have waited 4 extra days, seeing as how I bought VGC and cant use it yet.

We enjoyed the webcast and DW is now seriously leaning my way (towards purchasing). We even got to talk to the same rep we talked with 3 years ago. Spent about 15 minutes talking with Ron.

:thumbsup2 Another incentive is you may be able to use points for your next trip instead of paying at AKL. That's what we did in 2005.

Either Disney is really hurting for money or BLT isn't selling like we are lead to believe. They have discounted it more than any other property, they are still selling February UY's, and they are pushing it and not AKV. Something doesn't seem right.

Have fun on your tour and good luck. :goodvibes

You probably already got the best deal you could have gotten (at least so far)... the webcast incentives were only for Bay Lake Tower.

Thought I saw on another thread that someone's guide said BLT is gonna be sold out in a month or two :confused3

Maybe BLT is selling better than expectations, maybe not. But can someone please explain to me why if it's selling so good the price keeps dropping ?

"We're making such a killing and selling so many points at $106 that we're going to start selling at $96........er $91........."

Agree with Bill, something doesn't quite pass the smell test here.

Just talked to my guide, I can get in on this deal if I attend the webcast, but that is only because my contract hasn't closed yet.

When we attended our local presentation at Strong Museum they offered discounts AND free trips. From scrolling through the thread I see the discounts and points to use in 09 but no free trip?? My webinar is Saturday was there no mention of a free trip? I already told our guide that no one ever called us from our local presentation to sign up then, so I am hoping she will work it in if it is not included in the webinar. Thoughts?

There were no free trips offered during the webcast.

For me, the larger discount on points of the webcast was more valuable than the smaller discount + trips offered at the Anaheim presentation, but that's cuz the only trips they were offering in our point-range were 3-night stays at Disneyland and in San Diego and San Francisco, where we've been a lot.

I'm curious to know what kind of trips they've been offering during the DVC presentations in other cities...

Hi I saw someones note on this last page that the webcast for for BLT only. Since we dont get to see it until Sunday did anyone see anything special for Grand California? We are holding our contract until the 16th hoping that we can maybe save a few more dollars before we send in.

Thank you!

Did they make it clear it was only for BLT? I heard them say they were using BLT as an example for simplicity sake. My impression was the discount might be for all resorts available. That being said I would think they would have problems selling SSR at that price when you can buy it so cheap resale.

How can we get a new Guide? We attended the webcast and called the number after the show with a question. They said they would have our Guide call us back but he never did.

Someone posted on one of these many threads about the webcast that their guide explicitly told them after the webcast that the discounts offered were only for BLT. As we've seen in the past, guides do get misinformed, so I don't really know for sure. I'll try to fish out the quote if I can find it again, but there are like 10 of these threads now about the webcast. :headache: Has anyone else heard this confirmed one way or the other?

Hi HelloConnie, You may want to call again and say you have not heard from your guide and are anxious to BUY?? I had called my Guide about a month ago to BUY BLT and did not get called back.:confused3 So I gave another try this morning and SHE ANSWERED the phone!! Within 10 minutes I had purchased my 175 BLT contract!!:dance3: Good Luck!! Joan

I think they purposely obfuscated on the webcast as to what properties were available. Before they started explaining how DVD works, they did mention that it applies to other properties, but they would use BLT as an example. It seemed to me like they were pushing BLT, but others were definitely available if you ask.

Current incentives are here:

At the 160-point and 200-point levels, it's $2/point better than the incentive with a referral.

At 270 points, it's $4 cheaper, at 320 it's $5 cheaper, and at 500 it's $7 cheaper per point

Is this for a particular resort?

Yes - sorry - I was only comparing to the current BLT incentives cuz that's the only one I'm interested in. :cutie:

I bought at VGC last weekend. I called my guide and he said that he could honor this pricing for me since my contract had not closed, but that I have to attend the web cast. I would infer from that that the webcast pricing is good for VGC as well.

I got an invite to a vacation as you go presentation during our upcoming stay. It is not a webcast though. Says it includes a tour of BLT rooms. Sounds like fun!
