Congrats on booking your trip - that is wonderful! I bet the girls are excited to be going again.

I was meaning to ask you; would your girls like a Fairy Godmother (moi :goodvibes) to send them a postcard from Disney World? I could certainly do that for you, if you'd like.

Take care!
Katie

No, we haven't booked the trip yet but we did finalize our dates!! I'm waiting on my parents to let me know if they're wanting to be there the entire week or just part of it. I told my mom I needed to know ASAP!!

I would LOVE it if you could send them a postcard!! That would be awesome! Do you still have my address? :goodvibes

Oops, I do see now that you said decided and not booked. Duh. :upsidedow Chalk that up to another blonde moment! :lmao:

I will do it! I'll send them each one so they each get some mail. Yes, I do still have your address - I'll take it with me and get them each a postcard. I'll try and find an Ariel one for Ms. Ally and a Minnie one for Ms Claire.

Have a great night!!

Don't pass out in shock but I am FINALLY giving you a TR update!! My last update was the end of July--I'm sooo embarassed! I'm sure I've lost a lot of readers due to how busy I've been but if you're still here, post and let me know!! I WILL finish this TR--I'm not one to leave anything unfinished! So here we go!!

First, a recap of Day 6 in Magic Kingdom (Thursday, May 21st):

*breakfast @ Chef Mickey's
*DIS meetup in Toontown w/TwoRoos
*meeting Tinkerbell, Silvermist, & Fawn
*meeting Mickey & Minnie @ The Judge's Tent
*Storytime With Belle

When I left off we were enjoying an afternoon snack in Fantasyland . . .

According to my time stamp, it was around 3:30 in the afternoon. We decided to ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh so we hopped in line. As we were waiting in line Claire was getting quite upset! She spotted Tigger, Piglet, and Pooh across the way at Pooh's Treehouse play area!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/306.jpg

We tried to get her mind off of it by showing her the decor of the ride! We came across Eeyore! (Brent is imitating Eeyore here)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/310.jpg

Ally in front of Eeyore
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/308.jpg

Thankfully we were able to distract Claire and soon we were getting into our honeypots! I decided to leave my camera out and snap some shots of the ride!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/326.jpg

After the ride was over Ally wanted to ride the teacups with her Daddy (if you remember, earlier in the week she rode with me and her friend Lexi). They enjoyed some daddy/daughter time as Claire and I watched on.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/328.jpg

We couldn't believe that the rain was still holding off so I decided to make the most of our dry time taking pictures of Fantasyland!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/340.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/347.jpg

Then Brent and Ally decided that they were going to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! So as we headed that way, I snapped this quick picture! (Brent had to hold Ally up b/c she wasn't tall enough)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/359.jpg

So we headed onward and finally made it over to BTMR! As they got in line the CM handed Ally a lanyard to wear to track the wait time--Ally thought that was pretty cool! (the sign said the wait time was 20 minutes--this was at 5:15 p.m.)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/366.jpg

Claire and I walked up to that great lookout view of the roller coaster and waited and waited. We kept waiting to see Ally & Brent and we finally spotted them!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/373.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/375.jpg

I was quite nervous as to how Ally would like her first real roller coaster but she ended up LOVING it!! Can you tell?!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/376.jpg

Next we headed over to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin!! Claire and I sat in the front and Ally & Brent sat in the back! I had really wanted to get some pics as we were riding! So I was trying to maneuver our carpet up and down and take pics at the same time! Then the funniest thing happened!! As I turned around to take a picture, the camel sprayed us with water! It went all over my back and scared the poo out of me--but I ended up getting this fabulous picture of Ally & Brent and their reactions to the water!! (check out the water on Brent's shirt and on Ally's face)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/394.jpg

By this time we were all laughing soooo hard--it was hysterical!! What fun!! As we got off of the carpets Ally decided she wanted to check out the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. So Brent went with her and I sent the camera with him so he could get some pictures!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/401.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/408.jpg

About that time it started raining again so we put on our ponchos and started looking for a place to eat for dinner. We ended up at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe! We were ordering and I ordered the half rotisserie chicken and Brent was trying to tell me to get the half chicken/bbq rib combo (to use our DDP to the fullest and get the most for our $). But it was too late--oh well!! But the lady behind the counter had heard Brent and ended up giving him 2 chicken/rib meals anyway--so nice!! I couldn't believe all the food that came with our meal!! Their mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent as well as the chicken and ribs! Even Claire liked the ribs!! So by the end of this meal we were stuffed!! We will definitely eat there again!! :thumbsup2

After dinner it was still raining a bit so we walked around a little bit more until the rain stopped. Then we decided to take more pics before we left the park. Here they are:

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/430.jpg

We decided that we wanted to go take a look at the Grand Floridian so we left the park and hopped on the monorail!!

Continued in next post . . .

I was so excited to get to see the Grand Floridian in person!! I've always thought how beautiful it was on all of these travel shows and boy it didn't disappoint!! I was in awe!!!

This little kid's area was sooo precious! I just loved the child-sized couch and chairs!!

We realized that Wishes was about to start so we headed outside to watch the fireworks from the porch!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/455.jpg

After Wishes was over we got back on the monorail and headed back to our room at the Poly. During our short ride to the Poly, Ally ended up falling asleep. Brent ended up having to carry her back to our room!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/466.jpg

And this is what we found on our bed!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/469.jpg

The girls were already asleep so we just put them right in bed!! What a great day we had!!

Up next: Day 7 @ Magic Kingdom--including dinner at Crystal Palace!

Love the update! May 21st was Faith's birthday so it was fun reading what you were doing in Disneyworld while we were celebrating her birthday in Disneyland. I didn't know the camel's on Aladin's carpet sprayed water. :goodvibes You learn something everyday here. We must have gotten lucky the one time we rode it.

Thanks Meghan!! How fun!! Ally loves her AG dolls! She wants Kit for Christmas. There are a ton of the JLY dolls to choose from--was there one she preferred over the others?

There is a JLY doll that has her hair and eye color that she likes. Too bad it doesn't come with curly hair!!!

I love your update. How awesome that you were able to get pics of your DH and Ally on BTMRR! Madison really likes that ride too. She likes that it goes fast but doesn't have any big drops. Can't wait to read more!

Thanks!! I know, I did the same thing reading your TR--comparing what we did each day!! Yes, there are actually 2 camels that spit water. One spits water at the flying carpets and one spits water at those walking by the ride!! It's hilarious to watch when some unknowing person walks by and gets squirted by water!!

Today I took the girls to see the Toy Story 3D double feature! I wasn't sure how Claire would do being at the movies for over 3 hours but I thought it was worth a try! She ended up doing GREAT and sat still the ENTIRE time!! We even sat through the 10 minute intermission and watched the extra fun facts/trivia/deleted scenes. We all just LOVED seeing the movies in 3D! We own both movies but the girls had never seen the first Toy Story movie--it was a hit! Like Jackie said in her TR, I fell in love with the characters all over again!! And I even became quite emotional during the scene in the 2nd movie where Jessie talks about her former owner, Emily (even though I've seen it a thousand times). I was balling my eyes out b/c it made me think of how fast my own girls are growing up! :sad1: Uggh!! I sat there just hugging/loving on both of my girls. I even noticed a bunch of the little details in the movie that I had read about in the book "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World". It's funny b/c I was reading the book aloud to Brent on our 4 hour ride home from Alabama last night--and last night was when I read about Toy Story so it was fresh on my mind!!

I wasn't able to get any pictures at the movie theater--it was POURING rain today! (I normally get their pics in front of the movie poster) And it was way too dark in the theater to take a pic with my phone. But I did take some pics before we left the house!!

Ally in her brand new Mickey shirt that we bought at Justice yesterday!! (she took Minnie Mouse with her to the movies)

We cannot WAIT to see Toy Story 3!!

The girls were so cute dressed up for their afternoon at the movies -- love the last picture of Claire with her big smile!

I cried, too, a couple of times -- you are so right about how quickly they grow up -- it seems like just yesterday that Chelsea was Claire's age and insisting on watching Toy Story for the millionth time.

Glad you enjoyed the movies -- we stayed during the intermission as well and got a kick out of all the little things they did to keep us occupied.

Hi Becky! Don't worry...I'm still here! I think we all got a little crazy and busy with all the summer activities. ;)

I love the pic of Brent and Ally on the carpets...great catch to capture that moment! You can tell Ally is having the time of her life! :thumbsup2

It looks like you got a relatively dry day for once. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of it!

The GF is just beautiful! I don't think my boys would appreciate it though. Maybe someday for a girly trip..it that ever happens! :confused3

We've eaten at Cosmic Rays on both of our trips and we are never disappointed. The variety there is fantastic!

I'm not sure we're going to make it to the theater to see the Toy Story double feature, but we are SO excited to see Toy Story 3!! :woohoo:

I'm so glad the girls enjoyed the double feature! When I saw on your facebook that you were taking them to see the movies, I wondered how Claire would do! That's great that she already has such patience and a great attention span!!
I was young when Toy Story came out-- I'll never forget going to see it the day after it came out, on Thanksgiving morning with my cousins!
Fuzzy memories!! DBF and I are so glad they extended the double feature.

Hi! Becky
here's an idea...if they don't come out with any girly TS tees soon. Myabe someone on the creative disboards can disign you one for each of the girls. You just need to do the iron on transfers from there!

I'm so happy Claire sat and enjoyed the entire dbl feature!!! Ashton did well except he kept asking to go to the potty during the second one...maybe we should not have ordered the large drink

I am still here and I enjoyed your update. I am glad that Claire was able to make it through both movies. I had planned to go see it, but my 7 yr. old son decided that he had already seen those movies and didn't want to see them again.:sad2: I tried to tell him that he had never seen them in 3D but he didn't seem to care. We are leaving for WDW in two weeks, so I decided that if he didn't want to see them I should just save my money for the trip. Since they extended the time we may have to rethink.

I LOVE both Toy Story movies, so I was really looking forward to the double feature, but my girls said they wanted to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs instead  Can't wait for TS3 to come out though - that we WON'T miss.

Love the Mickey shirt from Justice - I just saw that there the other day. We were spending birthday gift cards and I was really surprised neither of my girls picked that. I'll probably go back and get it, though (next time I get a 40% off coupon in the mail, that is!)

We were most excited about The Princess and the Frog in the previews even though we have watched the trailer here at home a few times already. ;)

How funny!! We want to see Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, too--but I didn't give the girls a choice when we went yesterday!!

Thank you!! It was actually the first time I shopped in Justice for Ally (I had forgotten that their sizes start at a 6--Ally wears some 6s and 7s now). We were in Birmingham, AL shopping on Monday and I decided to check it out. Glad I did b/c the entire store was 40% off!! I got Ally 2 pairs of jeans, the Mickey shirt, and 2 BAMA shirts!! How do you get coupons in the mail? Is it something you have to sign up for to get on their mailing list? We have a Justice about 10 minutes from our house!

That sounds like fun! I don't think they are playing it in my area, though. Claire did really well to sit through both of them! I don't think Dylan would sit still that long.

I'm jealous of the long sleeves. It is so hot right now in Florida.
I love Ally's mickey shirt. Amy's favorite store is Justice. I might just have to go over there and investigate that Mickey shirt for her.
I'm so sorry I missed the post to vote for Claire. Love the picture and the story is so cute. I think Claire deserves to win she is the cutest princess on there. The prize sure is nice too:thumbsup2

I'll let everyone know when the TR is done. It is going to be a good one. The first night DS(1) was up from 3am-4:30am. Me and DW got up several times. I put him in the car and drove allover Disney Property(mainly World Drive). The castle is very pretty inside and out. We was very fortunate to be able to eat there. I checked with the information desk at the entrance of the MK to see if there was availability and there was at 9pm that night. Someone had cancelled; they said that people booked 180 in advanced and it is rare to have an opening. We was excited to get in and to be able to eat there.

Plus there is a link to a Yahoo group that you can join that will send you reminder e-mails each week with the listings!! http://www.bartlett-sloan.net/tv/agenda.php3?modeagenda=soon

We've had a busy but fun weekend!! My parents were in town visiting during their Fall Break. Friday we went and all ate lunch with Ally at school (took her McD's!!). Then yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch and then to our town's Harvest Festival!! I hope to post pics soon (I took a lot--shocker, huh?!). Then today was church--Brent and I sang a duet tonight--"Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)"! I hope everyone had a nice and restful weekend!!

Hi Becky - I was just doing a little research on what sitcoms have featured Disney (Full House, Roseanne, Family Matters, etc.). We have Full House on DVD but I want to try to get my hands on the others. I can't wait to add the listings from the site you posted to my list.

Also, I RAN (the very next day) to Justice to try to find the shirt you got for Ally - no luck! Our store did not have them and I couldn't find them online either! I'm going to keep trying! Ally looks so cute in it!

And finally, Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) is my all time favorite song. It is so moving and powerful and contains my favorite line from the classic we all know:

How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!!!

Do you have the Chris Tomlin CD with the "extras"? He talks about the original verse that was written (and left off the classic version we all know) that he added back. Aww, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE that song! I get goosebumps just thinking about it! I wish I could have been there to hear you and your hubby sing it!!! :cloud9:

And finally, Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) is my all time favorite song. It is so moving and powerful and contains my favorite line from the classic we all know:

How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!!!

Do you have the Chris Tomlin CD with the "extras"? He talks about the original verse that was written (and left off the classic version we all know) that he added back. Aww, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE that song! I get goosebumps just thinking about it! I wish I could have been there to hear you and your hubby sing it!!! :cloud9:

I'm so sorry that they didn't have that Mickey shirt! I got Ally's in Birmingham and haven't even been to our store here in Memphis. I hope you can find it!

I love the song, too! I love what Chris Tomlin did with that classic hymn! I do not have that Chris Tomlin cd--I'll have to check it out. :goodvibes

Hi Becky! Love the pics from Toy Story day and thanks for the link to the shows. I need to see if we get FLN. We get a bajillion channels but only watch one or two: Disney Channel and Disney XD. :lmao:

Mary and I have started our May PTR's. Can't wait to plan with you again! :woohoo:

Thanks Leanne!! No problem!! What is Disney XD? Oooh--you've started!! Off to check them out!! I will start mine as soon as I wrap up this TR!

Oooohhh Becky, see! They started their May Pre Trip Reports! Your turn :rotfl:

Can't wait to see what you are planning! Always look forward to your good ideas :lovestruc

I know!! I MUST finish up this TR before I start another PTR!! :goodvibes

I wanted to add something.. I love that song Legacy on your blog spot! It's so good!

Thank you!! I love it, too and it's my prayer that I can be that legacy for my girls.

Hi Becky!

Just checking in!!!

Becky,

Great pictures, looks like you all had an awesome time. Seeing the Grand Floridian in person was on my to do list, but didn't get a chance to see it yet. It is so surreal looking at the MK pictures because we was in the exact same spots at times less than two weeks ago. I sat in front of the exact same railing that your DH and DD was sitting on. Thanks for sharing, it definately brought back good memories.:goodvibes

Honestly, I don't know how I got on their list. I do know they always ask the birthday of the girl you are shopping for (we always get a 40% off card good for the whole month of their birthdays), but I really don't know how they know where to send it. I've given my phone number, they must look it up by that. I'm sure you could go on their website and sign up as well.

Don't you just love fall!

How cool is it that you guys get to sing together. My hubby is a great singer, and he plays guitar in the praise band at our church, but I cannot hold a tune in a bucket!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! Again, it has been CRAZY around here! We've been so busy and in my "free" time I've been working on this HUGE bow order. A children's clothing vendor ordered a bunch of bows and clippies to match their outfits--they have a big show this weekend here in Memphis. I'm happy to say that I finished the order very late last night (or should I say early this morning). Sooo glad to have that behind me! So I'm taking it easy today!!

I wanted to update you with the pictures I had been promising--what we've been up to the past week and a half! So here we go!!

I'll start with Saturday a week and a half ago. My parents were in town visiting and we all decided to take a trip to the pumpkin patch/farm! We had a kot of fun--rode on a hayride to a pumpkin patch, chose pumpkins, etc. Here is the link to the pics: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38523&id=1035906284&l=6f401d3dc0.

That same day we went to the Harvest Festival in our small town. All of the businesses in our downtown had games, activities, food, drinks for everyone at no cost! Kind of like a "thank you" for supporting their businesses. Here are pics from that: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38530&id=1035906284&l=819a678f61

Then last Tuesday (10/20) Brent, me, and some friends from church headed to Jackson, TN for a scholarship banquet at my alma mater--Union University. Each year they have this huge banquet with a very nice sit-down dinner and the bring in a very well known speaker. This year it was Condoleezza Rice!! My dad teaches at Union and every year he buys a table and we get to join my parents and invite a couple to come with us. It was a lot of fun and we NEVER get a babysitter for the girls--so we were excited about the night out! The dinner was very good but Condoleezza was even better!! She was one of the best speakers they've had in IMO. She took time to speak directly to the students and their dreams/education--which impressed me. After she was done speaking we were invited by my parents to go to a meet and greet/photo op with Condoleezza!! On our way up to the 3rd floor, the elevator STOPPED! We were stuck along with 14 other people! I was freaking out! I was hot and getting very claustrophobic!! They tried to call people to get us out and finally we ended up calling 911. The fire department came and rescued us after about 15 minutes of being stuck in this elevator! So we headed up the stairs to meet Condoleezza. (I was still shaking and I was flushed--uggh!) So we met her--she was very gracious--and had our picture taken with her. I will share it when we receive it. We weren't allowed to use our own cameras. Anywho, here are the pics from that night: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38534&id=1035906284&l=2df587f7a4

The next day (10/21) was Ally's 1st Kindergarten field trip to the Memphis Zoo!! It was a lot of fun! Here are the pics: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38535&id=1035906284&l=d66f0ce229

Then this past weekend we went to visit my parents in Jackson. Me, my mom, and Ally drove to Franklin, TN (near Nashville) to attend an American Girl Fashion Show! We had gone last year and had the best time!! Ally was a Guest Model and got to walk the runway--sooo cute!! Check out my many pics of this event: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38573&id=1035906284&l=f9d3f3619b

Then today I snapped this quick pic of Ally before school. This week is Red Ribbon Week (Say No to Drugs) and today was wear your favorite hat day. AND the Kindergarten letter of the week is C. This is what Ally chose to wear! The pic quality is not the best as it was taken on my phone!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Planning/Allycutehat.jpg

Tomorrow I go up to Ally's class to help the kids carve their pumpkins. Each child brought in a pumpkin for pumpkin math--weighing the pumpkin, measuring the pumpkin, etc. And then on Friday me and the other room mom are helping with their Fall Snack/"party". Busy week but sooo much fun!

Hi Becky! Glad to see you back. Looks like you've had a lot of excitement. It's red ribbon week for us also. Today was Crazy Hair Day for us.

FLN stands for Fine Living Network. The premise of the show was that they give three families $1600 to use towards a Disney Vacation. It was interesting to see what each family did with their $. One family did All Star Music, basic passes and dining plan, one family did Pop, park hopper and waterpark and more passes, the other did shorter stay at AKL with wine and dine package. It was interesting for sure. :thumbsup2 I DVR'ed (like how I made that a verb??) it so we can watch it again when nothing is on.

Have fun with the pumpkins and the party!

Oh cute!! We used to do crazy hair day when I taught K!! It was always a hoot to see what the kids looked like! That sounds like a really neat show! I have got to talk to Brent about expanding our channels! We don't even have DVR yet--crazy, I know! We've just been watching things online when we miss them. I Know it's so sad, isn't it? They used to be such a cute sweet family. I feel bad for the kids. Especially the older girls and Joel; he is such a daddy's boy and now he hardly gets to see him. I knew something was up with Kate from the beginning. Did you see the Utah episode when she was so sick, she couldn't help John get the kids ready for ski school and then she could go to the spa?:sad2:
Two weeks the flamingo gardens/butterfly world episode was right by my where I live. I thought it was funny that out of all places they decide to come here.

Anyway, I loved all the pictures. The girls are just so cute.:cutie: I don't blame Ally for being scared of the foot sticking out of the trunk, I saw it the other day and I was scared. We had spirit week too at the kids' school.

What are the girls for halloween? Is claire Snow white by any chance?:rolleyes1

On Thursday I went up to Ally's school to help the kids carve their pumpkins. There were about 7 parents that came to help so I helped Ally and 2 of her friends. It was a lot of fun--the kids drew the faces on the pumpkins and we carved them. I think they turned out pretty cute! Then on Friday they had their Fall Treat (in place of a party--only the room moms could come--but it was pretty much a party). We made spider cookies using sugar cookies, icing, pretzel sticks, and M&Ms. Then we played Pass the Pumpkin, made your classic ghosts over Tootsie Roll Pops, and then I taught the class the poem (with hand motions) Five Little Pumpkins. At the end of the "party" we passed out treat bags. It went really well and the kids really seemed to enjoy themselves. Here is a link to pics from those 2 activities: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=39000&id=1035906284&l=a993503ebc

Here is a long awaited trip update!! This is our last full day at WDW and we spent it in the Magic Kingdom!! (Friday, May 22nd)

We woke up bright and early, got dressed, and ate a quick Pop Tart breakfast. Our goal was to catch the Opening Show at MK. We had not been able to see it yet--Monday was our 8 a.m. BBB appt. and Thursday was our Chef Mickey's breakfast. So today was the day!! So we jumped on the monorail and made it to the Magic Kingdom with plenty of time to get a good spot for the show!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/013.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/021.jpg

We enjoyed the show VERY much!! It is definitely a MUST see show at least once per visit! It was so magical and is such a great way to start the day! I even got a little teary-eyed as I watched!!

Then we headed into the park and made our way to get in line to meet Daisy. (The day before a CM told us the exact time and location of where to meet her) There was one other family ahead of us with the same idea. But evidently the CM who came out to work this meet-and-greet was a bit confused. He told us that Chip and Dale is who we'd see, not Daisy. So I turned to Brent to ask him what we should do--I was a bit irritated at this point. And just then Daisy walked around the corner and came over to our line!! Thank goodness the CM didn't know what he was talking about!! And as soon as we knew it we were meeting Daisy!! Ally went first!! BIG hugs for Daisy!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/028.jpg

And then it was Claire's turn!! She LOVED Daisy!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Photopass%20pics/Image0935.jpg

So then we said "Bye" to Daisy and headed straight to Fantasyland! Our 2 goals were to meet Ariel (hence the Ariel dresses) and to meet Alice.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/035.jpg

I stopped to take a quick pic of the castle because it wasn't raining just yet!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/036.jpg

And as we rounded the corner of the castle over by Belle's Storytime we ran into the Wicked Stepmother, Drizella, and Anastasia!!! The line wasn't too terribly long so we got in line!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/037.jpg

As we were waiting Brent kept getting phone calls from work--apparantly there was something super important they needed to talk to him about (keep in mind this was the ONLY time our entire trip that Brent was on the phone with work). So he walked across the way and stood under the awning at Cosmic Rays (as it was beginning to sprinkle just a bit). Then it is our turn to meet the Wicked Stepmother & Stepsisters and boy were they a hoot!! Ally went up to them first and they were asking her all sorts of questions--who she was there with--Ally told them and they looked over at Claire and me and asked me, "Where is your better half?" I pointed over to Brent and explained that he was on the phone with work. They all started hooping and hollering at him and yelling, "You're an uninvolved Father!!" Brent was dying from embarassment at this point--I felt kind of bad for him--but it was quite funny!! :rotfl2: Finally they moved on as they spotted the Ariel clippie in Ally's hair--they made a BIG fuss about it!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/042.jpg

Anastasia said, "Oh look!! It's a ribbon mermaid!! Where is one that looks like me?!" Ally was just giggling at this--it was sooo funny!! They carried on some more and then we got a picture!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/043.jpg

Claire was a little unsure about meeting them after all of the noise they had made but Anastasia got down on her level to speak to her. It was really sweet!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/046.jpg

We said our goodbyes and joined back up with Brent--thankfully he was able to laugh at the whole situation! :goodvibes

I took a quick picture of Ally . . .
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/047.jpg

. . . but I knew we had better head over to see if it they were letting people enter Ariel's Grotto. I had read on the DIS that they were known for opening it up 15 minutes earlier than the time posted! And low and behold--it was open so we got in line. The wait time said 10 minutes. Ally was sooo excited to meet Ariel because Ariel is her FAVORITE princess!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/050.jpg

This ended up being one of the best character interactions!! Ariel was sooo funny and spent so much time with each of the girls! Ally went in first and sat down next to Ariel. Ariel started chatting with Ally and she signed her autograph book. Then the CM that was working in the Grotto started blowing these bubbles towards Ariel. And Ariel would get mesmerized by them, try to catch them--she made a game of it and we were all rolling!! It was hilarious!!

Then Claire didn't want to leave Ariel!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/082.jpg

But we got out of there without too much of a meltdown! A CM told us that Alice was out by the teacups so we quickly got in line! We got talking to the CM with Alice and found out that he was from Cordova, TN--another suburb of Memphis that's maybe 10 minutes from where we live!! He was very nice and chatted with us while we waited. We didn't wait too long before it was our turn!! Ally made her way up to Alice and Alice complimented her on her Ariel clippie. Ally proceeded to tell her that she also had an Alice clippie--Alice made a big deal about this!! It was too cute!! Alice was sooo sweet!

As we were walking around Fantasyland I just had to take a picture of the stroller parking!! I wanted to be able to show my parents what it was like when we got home!! CRAZY!!! :)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/135.jpg

We looked around in some shops . . .
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/139.jpg

. . . and checked out the Cinderella Fountain!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/143.jpg

. . . and then headed to Pinocchio Village Haus for lunch!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/148.jpg

We really enjoyed the food here. Brent and I both had pizzas, a salad, and dessert. Ally had peanut butter and jelly.

By the time we had finished lunch the rain had started!! Uggh! So we put on our ponchos and started walking towards Adventureland. We were on the hunt for Wendy & Peter Pan! We didn't see them out anywhere and the rain was getting pretty heavy at this point. So we headed down to The Jungle Cruise but the ride was shut down due to the weather. It was raining so hard that we decided to hang out down there by the Jungle Cruise. Then Claire had a HUGE blowout so I took her to an empty corner and changed her diaper. Brent had struck up a conversation with some of the Jungle Cruise CMs. By the time I got back over to Brent, he was holding 5 Fastpasses--good for ANY Magic Kingdom attraction!! Whoo hoo!! That brightened up our day a bit!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/323.jpg

The girls were getting pretty restless so we decided to leave and head up to some of the shops to give them something to look at. As we were leaving we saw one of the Jungle Cruise CMs that talked to us for a long time way back on Monday night while we were waiting for Spectromagic to start. She waved and said "hi" as she called both girls by name! That really impressed me--it had been 4 days since she'd seen us! Ally thought that was really cool!! We walked through the pouring rain to that shop right beside The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. I noticed an index card behind the counter with the times of different character meet-and-greets. So I asked the CM working behind the counter when and where we might see Wendy & Peter Pan. She told us (weather permitting) where we might be able to meet them. But then the wind started howling, it started lightening, and the weather got really bad. We decided we were going to hang out in this shop for awhile until it was safe to leave. And if you know me you know that I am TERRIFIED of storms!! Uggh! But I had to act like it was no big deal so the girls wouldn't be alarmed. Thankfully the lightening and strong winds eventually subsided and we were able to leave the store. We walked back towards the Pirates of the Caribbean and we ran into Captain Hook and Mr. Smee!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/163.jpg

Then we decided to ride Pirates of the Caribbean! Here are my pirates waiting in line!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/166.jpg

But again, we didn't have to wait too long before we were on the ride!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/192.jpg

By the time we got off of the ride we relaized that it was almost time to go meet Wendy and Peter Pan. No one was at the spot where they were to be so we staked out our spot--first in line to meet Peter & Wendy!! But the time came for them to be there and no one came! At that point I was so sick of the rain and so frustrated. I felt like we were getting jipped due to all of this rain! I was NOT happy. So in the meantime Brent decided to take a bathroom break and I told him I would just stay there and wait on him. As Brent returned right behind him he was followed by Wendy & Peter!! YAY!! Ally was so happy!! And it just made my day!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/198.jpg

Then we walked around a little more and decided we better head towards Crystal Palace for our dinner reservation at 6:30 p.m. On our way there we saw part of this parade!!

Great update Becky!

That must have been a hoot with the StepFamily and the "uninvolved father" comment. Cause it is so obviously not the case - LOL!

Brent should challenge them to a WDW cake bake-off next time you are in the Parks!:rotfl:

I seriously can't believe that the rain keeps making an appearance every day on your trip. I too would have been a little frustrated by it all but thank goodness the character visits with Peter Pan and Wendy went off as planned.

We didn't have to wait too terribly long before they called our name to be seated. We entered the Crystal Palace and is was just GORGEOUS!! And we had the best table--it had the best view of the castle!!

Once we were seated we ordered our drinks and our waitress told us that we had time to get our food before the characters started coming around. This was one of the bests buffets we ate at all week! There was so much to choose from and the food was soooo good!

The characters were great, too!! The first one to come to our table was Piglet!

Then Tigger was trying to make his way over to our table but this little boy was running behind him trying to tackle him to the ground!! It was really quite crazy--the boy was relentless and his parents were nowhere to be found! Finally a flustered Tigger had to grab a CM and tell them to get the boy OFF of him!! The CM took care of it and found the boy's parents. And Tigger was finally able to greet my girls.

At this point we decided to let the girls choose their favorite ride to ride one last time. Ally chose Peter Pan's Flight so we made our way back to Fantasyland. The line was really long so we decided to use 3 of the Fastpasses that we were given earlier that day. As we rode I just soaked it all in one last time. Then we headed across the way to Claire's favorite ride--It's A Small World. It was a walk-on so we got a boat immediately. Again, I just tried to soak it all in--at this point I had no idea when we'd be returning to Disney World. I was hooked but I wasn't sure how Brent felt. Claire was so very happy everytime we got on this ride--I just loved to see the joy on her face. So as we rode I became very emotional. I had tears just streaming down my face as we rode this ride one last time. I tried to turn my head so I wouldn't upset the girls. They didn't notice but Brent did. He put his arm on mine as if to say, "It's ok. I understand." I was a mess and I hated knowing that it was our last night at Disney World. Uggh! But I was going to make the best of our last night there!! That was for sure!

We still had a little while before Wishes so we decided to do the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. I was a little apprehensive about this show at first--I was afraid it would be really corny. I am so glad that we tried it!! The show was so much fun and had us laughing the entire time!! My favorite part was how they chose people out of the audience to stick the camera on and make them part of the show--genius!! One little girl that they chose crawled under her seat to hide--it was so funny!! We will definitely do that show again!!

As we exited the show we decided to go ahead and choose a location to watch Wishes. We chose the walkway that goes from Tomorrowland to the street in front of the castle--right where Tinkerbell would fly over our heads!!

Waiting for Wishes!

As Wishes ended we slowly made our way out of the park. I took these pics along the way (things were slow going at this point).

Main Street (see all of those people)!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/393.jpg

Ally was starting to fall asleep so we tried to keep her awake as long as possible (there is nowhere for her to lay down in a Sit-N-Stand stroller and she is soooo heavy to carry). We made it out of the entrance and decided to try and take the boat back to the Poly since we hadn't had a chance to do that all week. Well, it seemed like we were standing in line forever and it just wasn't moving. The monorail line seemed pretty long but it was moving. So we decided to get out of line and get in the line for the monorail. This line actually ended up going pretty fast but as we waited Ally fell asleep. Brent picked her up and carried her onto the monorail as I pushed Claire in the stroller. It was a very quick ride back to the Poly and we were back in our rooms before we knew it! This is what was waiting for us!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%207/401.jpg

The girls were asleep so we just stuck them in bed. Brent and I started getting everything packed up to go home the next afternoon. Then we hopped in bed so we could get up early and spend as much time in the park as possible before it was time to catch the ME back to the airport.

So which park did we spend half the day in? And what did we do? Stay tuned for the last day!!

Aww Becky, I have had moments like that at WDW, too, where I tear up and can't control my emotions. It's a Mommy thing for sure!!:goodvibes Such wonderful family time is spent there, so much planning, so many memories and happy moments where Mommy and Daddy don't have to work, pay bills, clean the house, they just get to play with their babies....does it get any better than that?:cloud9: So sad this is your last night.....

Hi Becky! Wow! You have been busy posting a lot of updates, and they all were wonderful. I am impressed with how much you got done at the MK, even with all of the rain.

I have to say that I totally understand your emtions on IASW. I was tearing up while reading about it, since I remember how much Dylan loved that ride too. The look of wonder on their faces is priceless.

You got some great pictures at CP too. I can't believe the Tigger story! Where were the parents??? What a view you had out that window of the castle. :cloud9:

Your Halloween pictures were too cute. I love the pic of you and Ally in her classroom. I just posted some pictures of Dylan in his costume on my TR. It's so cool that your church does the Trunk & Treat thing. My parent's church does that too and it is such a good alternative for some people. Ok, sorry for the long post...you just gave me a lot to comment on!

For those of you who didn't see the news on FB---We booked our May trip today!!! :cool1::dance3::cool1: We're staying at the Polynesian again and will be there May 22-29th!!! Whoo hoo!! My parents and brother will be joining us this time!! My parents haven't been since '83 and my brother (27) has NEVER been!!! Our ADR date is Nov. 23rd!! This is what we have down for meals so far:

1) Akershus breakfast in Norway
2) Le Cellier dinner
3) Crystal Palace dinner
4) 1900 Park Fare dinner
5) O'hana dinner

Those are the definites!! So help me choose 2 more!! We're considering the Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose, 1900 Park Fare breakfast (Alice, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, etc.), Boma, Whispering Canyon, etc. Any other ideas/suggestions?! We're going to do AK 1 day, HS 1 day, Epcot 2 days, and MK 2.5 days.

I was a little disappointed when my TA said that the Flower & Garden Festival will be ending on May 16th--so we will miss that. However SWW will start on May 21st so we'll get to see that again.

This is what I'm looking at in terms of park days (not totally certain about ADR days):

Saturday, May 22: no park--Downtown Disney, relax, watch Wishes from Poly beach
Sunday, May 23: Hollywood Studios (Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose ???)
Monday, May 24: Magic Kingdom (BBB appt. for Ally/1900 Park Fare dinner)
Tuesday, May 25: Animal Kingdom (O'hana dinner)
Wednesday, May 26: Epcot (Akershus breakfast)
Thursday, May 27: Magic Kingdom (Crystal Palace dinner)
Friday, May 28: Epcot (Le Cellier dinner)
Saturday, May 29: Magic Kingdom (1900 Park Fare breakfast ???)

Any suggestions about days for the meals? Not sure I'm set on this yet--but pretty sure on park days.

Yeay for the Polynesian again!!! Instead of Boma, have you thought about doing Tusker House or Yak and Yeti at the Animal Kingdom? Also, instead of doing the Fantasmic dinner package, I think it would be fun to do Prime Time or Sci-Fi at DHS. Just a thought or two.

I wanted to ask you about the Snow White ride. Was it as scary as all the books say it is? That is another one we did not try in fear that it was. Your pics look pretty, though, so fill me in

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still talking to my mom about the last 2 choices. Decisions, decisions!!

Yay Becky!! So happy that you guys are going back!! Can't wait till you start your PTR :goodvibes

As far as your updates go, LOVE your MK day so far!! So great that all of the characters you set out to see were there! We had to skip Ariel's grotto last time, so I know it will be one of our first stops in January! Looks great.

I wanted to ask you about the Snow White ride. Was it as scary as all the books say it is? That is another one we did not try in fear that it was. Your pics look pretty, though, so fill me in

I can also relate about crying when it is coming to an end. It is SUCH an emotional time...especially with your kids! I will miss your TR so much, but WOOHOO cant wait for your PTR! Hurry and start it ;)

Thanks Katie! The Snow White ride was not scary at all to my girls (even Claire wasn't scared). But I know all children are different. My girls are afraid of things like spiders, bugs, etc. not villians in movies. So we stear clear of the bug show in AK!! :) I bet you could find a video of the ride on YouTube and prepare your kiddos if you think that would help. We did that with the Dinosaur ride at AK for Ally and she rode it with no problem!! :thumbsup2

We woke up again bright and early at 6:30 a.m. It was our last day at WDW! :sad1: Our plan was to head to Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekend!! There were EMH that morning so the park was opening at 8:00 which worked great for us since we'd have to leave to catch ME back to the airport (we had a 4:50 p.m. direct flight back to Memphis). Brent was excited about SWW--he is a HUGE Star Wars buff (it was the first movie he saw in the theater) and after doing girly princess stuff all week, this was going to be a treat for him!!

So we ate a quick Pop Tart breakfast, made sure everything was packed and ready to go, and we said goodbye to our room at the Poly. We headed over to check in our luggage so they would keep it for us while we went to HS. Then we hopped on a bus to HS. We got there a little after the park opened! Brent was so excited!!

We walked around the left side of the park to Star Tours!

Ally & Brent rode Star Tours one last time and then we looked around at Tatooine Traders. Here's Ally Fett!!

heading in to see the show
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%208/017.jpg

I was really excited about this show because I used to watch The Muppet Show all the time when I was little. Unfortunately I was not impressed. The preshow was WAY too long--it seemed to last forever! And it was NOT funny. Then during the actual show Brent and I kept looking at each other like, "Really?"--this isn't funny. (sorry to those who love it but it wasn't our cup of tea) This was the only show I had been disappointed with on our trip. There was one good thing about seeing the show--we missed the incredible downpour that happened during the show. And stoller parking for this show is covered so our stroller didn't get wet! By the time we exited the rain had stopped! Thank goodness!!

We decided to walk around and check out all of the extra Star War things that they had setup. We came across this adorable photo-op! It looks like you are an actual toy in it's package!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%208/018.jpg

Then we came across this Stormtrooper display and Photopass Photographer. Unfortunately when I got home the Photopass site didn't have any Star Wars Weekends add-ons for the pics.

After we saw these characters we headed to The Writer's Shop for a snack. Ally and I had chocolate chip cookies and Brent had a frozen coffee drink. I bought 2 sounvenirs here--a huge Cinderella mug that says "Once A Princess, Always A Princess" and a set of magnet clips of Mickey's parts (his head, glove, shoe, and body). I will post pics later in my wrap-up. Then we headed to Hollywood Boulevard to check out the shops there before the Star Wars Parade started. While we were shopping a CM asked Ally if she wanted to send a Magical Message to her favorite Disney character!! Ally chose Ariel of course!! This is what it looked like!

We hopped back on the bus and headed back to the Poly to grab a bite to eat before we had to catch the ME. We ate at Captain Cooks for lunch one last time. As we were eating I was trying to find a family to give our 2 leftover MK Fastpasses to (we had only gotten to use 3 the night before in MK). I wanted to spread some Disney Magic before we left. I found a family of 4--a mom and a dad with 2 younger kids (like our family). I went up to them, gave them the FPs, and explained to them what they were. I was so glad I had chosen this family--they had just arrived at the Poly and it made their day!! I also know how helpful FPs can be with younger children.

Then we made a bathroom stop and headed to get our luggage and catch the ME back to the airport. :sad1: It was a quiet trip back--no one was excited about leaving the happiest place on earth. We got to the airport, checked in, and grabbed some Starbucks. We waited at our gate for awhile and then it was time to board the plane back to Memphis. We made in back, grabbed our luggage, and headed home. This is what we saw before we even left the airport (the time stamp on my camera says it was 6:31 p.m.)!

I don't know how we missed each other those last couple of days - your last night at Mk we were on the bridge to Tomorrowland and Tink flew over us also. Then we were at DHS on the 23rd and left right as the parade was wrapping up. Great minds think alike I suppose. Can't wait to read your wrap up! :goodvibes

Laura!! Good to see you back on the DIS!! I've missed you!! I hadn't really thought of O'hana for breakfast. The girls aren't really into Lilo & Stitch like they are Alice and Mary Poppins. But I know that Mickey is there, too and the girls LOVE him--definitely something to consider.

Wow Becky! Great updates and fabulous pictures! Shawn and Michael would love to attend SWW one time - especially after seeing your pictures! What great ones of the parade! That's great that Ally got to be in the HSM show - how fun for her! Those end of the day pics are hilarious! It's like they knew the trip was over and they just let the sleep overcome them!

Patiently waiting for your wrap-up!

Hi Becky!!

I'm sorry I've been so bad at commenting lately. Sam is in Mexico this week so I'm solo parenting. I have been reading, I promise! I know my boys would love SWW. It looks sooooo cool. Morgan has a Star Wars themed room and I've been looking at getting him the figures for Christmas (they're expensive though...)

Your girls are just precious! I just love dressing Lily and I know I'd love it even more if I could do matching for TWO girls!!

No worries Shannon! I can relate to the solo parenting thing--Brent travels a lot internationally. He's about to leave for a 12 day trip to Indonesia and India. Thankfully my mom is coming to visit for a few days.

Becky...

the last day at DHS looks :thumbsup2 that must be the key for SWW to go in May, cause our experience in June of 08, it was so hot and crowded we didn't see much...:sad2: love all the great pictures from the parade and the action figure toy box was very cool!

you guys really did have a marvoulous first trip to WDW :cool1: and I'm happy to hear the May trip is still on and how fun that your parents and brother are coming too! I bet the girls can't wait!

Your ADR day is coming quick and it's also Mae's b-day :goodvibes

I love all your pic's so far...but have a couple recomendations...

1) can you consider a mini date night for you and DH...that would be sweet to have dinner at Kona one night just the two of you :lovestruc

2) since it's your brother first trip to Disney why not pick some special place w/ him in mind? what food does he like..ethnic, american...:confused3 maybe another fun place in Epcot's world showcase or even Tony's in MK would be fun...

I would do a little research about the fantasmic dinner package before booking it...maybe on another thread. I know you get the prefered seating section but you don't have a reserved row or seat it's still first come first serve even there and if it rains out I do not think there is a rain check...but w/ that said I think F! is a great show...I hope you guys can see it!

Looking forward to your final thoughts of this trip and the new PTR :thumbsup2

Good Morning Becky!

I have so much to comment on...I'm sure I'm going to forget something. Such GREAT updates!! :thumbsup2

Here goes.....

LOVE the throwback pictures! You were so cute! The one with the Mickey Bars is my favorite!

I can't get your FB photos to show, but I'll keep working on that. I want to see the girls' costumes!

The opening show at MK.....what can I say? **sigh** LOVE IT! I'm glad you were able to see it the rain held off for you.

I would love to meet the evil step-family! They sound like a hoot! Good for Brent for being a good sport. :rotfl:

That Ariel was absolutely beautiful! The pics are amazing! I love the expressions on Ally's face as she interacts..so cool!

Yay! You found Peter and Wendy. We've never met them. Good idea to show up and wait....great thinking! :thumbsup2

I've heard great things about the food at CP...we'll have to try it next trip. I'm just concerned my boys have really outgrown Pooh. Your pictures are fabulous as usual! My favorites are the one with Ally kissing Pooh on the nose and Claire with dessert face! PRICELESS! :goodvibes

I can totally feel your emotion as you ride IASW. It made me tear up just reading it. That feeling of..."I can't believe it's over"....can be so overwhelming. Brent's such a great guy for "getting it"!

Beautiful castle pics of Wishes! :cloud9:

That pic of Ally sleeping all curled up on the Poly bed ....so cute!! I love those moments!

My boys would LOVE Star Wars Weekend! So glad Brent got some "man" activities to enjoy! The parade looks cool!

I can't believe your report is almost over! I've so enjoyed it and getting to know you and your gorgeous family. Can't wait to start reading the PTR!!! :yay:

The Star Wars parade looks cool, even though (and please don't flame me) I have never seen any Star Wars movie.

It was cool!! Girl--I wouldn't flame you!! :goodvibes

Becky...

the last day at DHS looks :thumbsup2 that must be the key for SWW to go in May, cause our experience in June of 08, it was so hot and crowded we didn't see much...:sad2: love all the great pictures from the parade and the action figure toy box was very cool!

you guys really did have a marvoulous first trip to WDW :cool1: and I'm happy to hear the May trip is still on and how fun that your parents and brother are coming too!

Plus the sleepy pictures are so adorable :cloud9:

J~

Julie--thank you so much for the recommendations!! I will definitely consider them. That's why I just love people giving their input--it makes me think about alternatives that would have never crossed my mind before!! And yay for Mae's birthday!!

Hi Becky,
The last day looks like a blast! Starwars weekend looks really cool. I can't believe I decided against it.:headache: Truth be told I don't know any starwars characters.:rolleyes1
I'm so sad your TR is almost over. The last day is always so sad. On our last night we were waiting at the DHS boat to go back to the hotel, and there were these 2 kids next to us all excited and saying "Yay, 6 more days at disney." And my girls were just standing there looking sad that it was over. My eyes got all watery.
Anyway looks like you some tired princesses in the back of your car.:lovestruc
Congrats on booking your trip.
For the dining part to tell you the truth, you really don't need the fantasmic package just get there an hour and a half early and you'll get great seats. I would use the HS credit at either play n' dine or Sci fi. Also instead of eating at 1900 twice, how about Chef Mickey's or Ohana?
I'm going to be at Disney on your ADR day.
Have a good day.:flower3:

Wow, you sure did those last few updates quickly! I'm guessing you are excited to start your 2010 ptr??!! Congrats on booking your trip - that is so awesome! And really cool that family is going along with you. We love having my parents along on our WDW trips. In fact, our trip this May was the first time we'd gone with just our little foursome. As fun as it was, we definitely missed my parents and brothers (okay, not my brothers so much;)) and are looking forward to taking them along on our trip next fall.

Yes, SWW was REALLY cool!! The girls even liked it even though it wasn't princesses!! With the Fantasmic package do you still have to get there that early? We ate at Play N' Dine last time and it wasn't one of our favorites. I'll have to read about Sci Fi. Decisions, decisions. . . We ate at Chef Mickey's last time, too--Brent didn't want to do it again this trip. You're the second person that's suggested the O'hana breakfast--I need to look into that!! :goodvibes I'll be thinking of you on our ADR day!!

With the fantasmic dinner package you still have to arrive about 45 minutes early. Just bring glow sticks and get popcorn or something and the girls should be fine. O'hana is great! Breakfast and dinner both are amazing. Plus it will only be a few feet from you.
I'll be thinking of you too from Epcot and DHS and I'll be sending you some pixie dust.

Hey Becky!!

I just read some of the threads before this one. We had booked a Fantasmic Package at Brown Derby. I heard the food was great here. However, when it came down to it, they make you eat SO early (4:30 I think). We were just not that hungry and were still touring, so we canceled it. We had no trouble seeing from our seats that night during Fantasmic (but keep in mind we were there at a VERY slow time). We basically walked right in about 5 minutes before the show and were about half way up.

If I was going during a really busy time, I would have been more serious about getting the dinner package.

Also, I had asked Angela about Ohana Breakfast. I like the fact that they bring all the food to your table (like the dinner) and it is a small restaurant, so character interaction would be easy. We decided on LTT instead when they came out w/characters for the month of January 2010. BUT Ohana was close second for me.

One last thing (and the reason I came to write on your report--hah!) Have you ever been to Dollywood? Do you think my kids would like it? We are considering a trip with the family next Christmas time. My husband vacationed in Gatlinburg (spell?) lots when he was younger...so they want to go show the kids! The website looks neat. Thanks girl!!

Hi Katie!! I was just about to PM you--I've missed seeing you around here the past few days--and on FB, too!! :goodvibes Thanks for the input!! I'll have to ask Angela more about the specifics of the Fantasmic package. She is the one who recommended it to me. I think now we're leaning more towards the O'hana breakfast--everyone who has commented says how great it is!!

YES!! I've been to Dollywood!!! We took Ally at Christmas in 2006 and we LOVED it!! I think your entire family would love it!! Here is the link to my pics from that trip (majority being from Dollywood--and excuse my horrible haircut--uggh!!): http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Gatlinburg%20Dec%2006/. They had an entire kiddie ride sections that was neat along with all sorts of special Christmas things--Santa, a talking tree that knows the kids names (very interactive), a show (Babes in Toyland), and a Christmas light parade!! We would love to go back and take the girls again!! I've been to Gatlinburg many times and it is soooo pretty that time of year!! :lovestruc They also have some great Tanger Outlets. And you HAVE to eat at the Apple Barn--it is sooooo good!!! Let me know if you have anymore questions!!

How sweet of you to notice that I have been MIA!! Well, I taught my first class last week (FRESHMAN English---LAST hour of the day---yikes!!). I wanted to make a great first impression....so I have been a little busy :) I got evaluated on Friday, went to the local high school football game, went to a professional writers conference and to see Christmas Carol (wasn't it SOOOO good! Chris and I are going to see it again for a date:lovestruc) AND LSU (boo!) and Saints played so...busy busy!

Thank you SO much for the pictures! First of all, I think your hair looked great! Don't know what you were talking about :rotfl:

Second---Ally was just the CUTEST little girl!! It is so sweet to see how much she has grown into such a big girl now!

Dollywood looks awesome. I do not think the drive would be bad for us (10 hours Mapquest says). We would probably stay in Birmingham overnight on our way b/c we love it there!! It looks like a sweet country version of WDW!

Chris has lots of good memories of vacations there, so it would be great to show the kids. Where did you guys stay and do you reccomend it? I am so appreciative of all the info!!

How funny that Katie just asked you about that! I have to go look at your pics now! We are very excited. Probably going to DW the day after T-giving (since it's closed T-giving day) and doing Dixie Stampede on the Saturday after. We don't have a lot of time there (arriving Wednesday mid-day), leaving Sunday morning, but would love any advice you might have! :goodvibes

Glad you liked the pics!! It made me all teary-eyed looking at those pics again! Ally is Claire's age in those pics (2)!! Yes, Dollywood is awesome!! I'd love to go back again for Christmas. LOVE Birmingham! We go there all the time when we visit Brent's parents--they live in a SMALL town and there's NOTHING to do there!! Yes, Dollywood is a much countrier version of WDW!! :rotfl: We stayed at a place where Brent's parent's own a timeshare--it was very nice!! The food is YUMMY and the show is a lot of fun!! We got there before the show and got to see the horses in their stables. Oh--and you do know that there are no utensils, right?! :thumbsup2 I might hide some plastic ones in your purse!! You MUST eat at the Apple Barn, too!! It is sooo yummy!! I feel very unprepared considering how long I take to plan out trips to Disney!! What about the lights in Gatlinburg? I heard the displays were really nice - do you walk through them, or do you just drive down in Gatlinburg and look at it all from your car? Were alot of rides open at Dollywood that time of year? I see from your pics that the kiddie section was open, but what about some of the bigger things? We will be there with 6 kids ages 5 through 14. Where is the Apple Barn? Thanks for any info!

Oh you will have such a great time!! Either way--you can get out and walk that main street in Gatlinburg or you can dirve-thru (depending on if you want to see the shops, etc.). I honestly can't remember about the rides since we pretty much stuck with the kiddie section. I don't see why they wouldn't be up and running--except for the log ride I'm sure. Apple Barn is actually in Sevierville near the outlets. It is right off of the main road--here is their website: http://www.applebarncidermill.com/.

Hi Alison!! I haven't been on in several days either. Brent is out of the country for business so I haven't been online much. Yes, the SWW parade was quite long but pretty entertaining!! It didn't seem too overly crowded to me but we left at lunchtime. It was also EMH in the morning so the park opened an hour early which was nice.

Time for my trip recap!! I'm going to start with the positives (+) and negatives (-) of our trip--starting out generally and then specifically from day to day.

- RAIN!!! Everyday ALL day! Uggh!
+ receiving towel animals/creations everyday
+ staying at the Polynesian :cloud9:
+ it was a magical trip that started our love and addiction to all things Disney :lovestruc

Day 1
+ Tokelau building--great location and great view!!
- Bells Services--had the hardest time finding our Garden Grocer order and getting it to us in a timely manner
+ DIS meetup @ the Poly beach with Sarah (mom2mek), Nichole (kaysmommie), & Michelle (mkluvsmickey)

Day 2 (HS)
+ spending time with good friends from our church
- the HSM show being rained out
+ being the Family of the Show for the Playhouse Disney show
- standing in line for over an hour and having Fantasmic being cancelled at the last minute

Day 3 (MK)
+ entering MK early and getting pics in an empty park in front of the castle
+ Ally's BBB experience--so magical and the hairdo lasted ALL week!!
+ CRT
+ "losing" my camera bag while at CRT
+ Spectromagic & Wishes

Day 4 (AK)
- 11 inches of rain and hardly being able to do much at AK
+ Lion King & Nemo shows
+ O'hana dinner (my favorite meal)
+ meeting Leanne (leamom2princesses)
- not being able to swim in the Poly pool due to the rain

Day 5 (Epcot)
- late monorail making us late to breakfast at Akershus
+ breakfast at Akershus--princesses were phenomenal!!
+ Ally getting chosen to ask Crush a question in Turtle Time With Crush
+ Epcot passport for Ally (she loved getting it stamped in each country)
- no Kidcot mask--too rainy to be able to make one
+ Voices of Liberty (amazing)
- No Illuminations due to all of the rain

Day 6 (MK)
+ meeting Julie (TwoRoos) and family
+ fairy meet and greet
+ Storytime With Belle
+ watching Wishes from the Grand Floridian

Day 7 (MK)
+ getting to see the Opening Show for the first time
+ meeting Ariel at her Grotto
+ receiving 5 MK Fastpasses
+ Crystal Palace dinner
- last night blues

Day 8 (HS--SWW)
+ SWW (Brent loved this)
- The Muppet Show (disappointing)
+ Ally being chosen to dance in the HSM show
+ Ally sending a Magical Message to Ariel
- going home

Coming up--our favorites, things we'll do again, and our "To Do" list for next time!!!

Its so funny, my hubby Scott never shops at home, but on our WDW trips he always comes home with more souvenirs than I did:confused3

Cute pics of Allys first tooth (or lack thereof, I guess) I miss my oldest's toothless grin of last summer. Now she has braces - which are cute too in their own way. Still waiting for Lucy to lose a tooth. Both my kids were late teethers as babies, and they're still late!

Have you started the ptr for May yet?

Great recap Becky! I am already so excited for each of our May 2010 trips!!

My daughter lost the same tooth Ally did last year when she was 5. Then she lost the one beside it about 2 weeks later.

She is now 6 1/2 and her 2 front teeth are starting to jiggle a lot lately! I keep telling her she is bound to be singing "All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth"!

I just love her little baby teeth and I am so sad to see them go! It's crazy, I know, but I think it is a strong slap in the face that your child is growing up when those pearly little white teeth start popping out.:sad1:

So have you started a PTR yet??? I haven't done a TR at all my past couple of trips, but I think I just might do one this trip. It is going to be our longest trip yet - 11 days at WDW!!!

Your ADR window must be opening soon, right?? You will LOVE the new online system. We got everything we wanted and it was so quick and easy! And no long distance bills to pay!;)

BTW: how does Ally like the Minnie Mouse playset she came home with I was thinking of ordering one for each of the 3.5 yr old girls on my Christmas list...but, since I am ordering it off the disneyshopping.com site I can't really see what they look like...is it something a 3.5 yo can play with?!?
