We started our day bright and early! We wanted to get to AK before the park opened as this was the only day we had there. Ally had fallen asleep on the way back from MK the night before and ended up sleeping in her clothes!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/002.jpg

We woke up the girls and had a quick Poptart breakfast!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/004.jpg

Here's the invitation for dinner tonight at O'hana!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Planning/OhanaAllyinvite.jpg

I looked outside our window and you guessed it--RAIN--again! Uggh! So on went our ponchos and we headed to the bus stop. We didn't wait long at all before the AK bus arrived! YAY! Once we arrived at AK it was barely raining so we were able to get a few quick pics.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/010.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/012.jpg

We had alloted a lot of time to get to AK (we weren't sure how long it would take us by bus). It was only around 8:30 so we waited a little while before they let us in the park. I want to say it was about 10 minutes 'til 9:00 when they let us in to see the opening show. It was raining pretty steadily but I was bound and determined to get a few pics of this show!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/015.jpg

It was cute and eveybody was cracking jokes when Minnie went down her list of what you might need in the park today--especially when she got to sunscreen--yeah right! How about ponchos?! Hee hee!! I couldn't believe how many people had umbrellas. I got hit several times by umbrellas and was wondering why they were even allowed in the park--oh well! We didn't get any pics taken in front of the tree of life because the photopass photographers weren't out while it was raining.

When the ropes dropped we headed straight for Africa to get in line for the safari. We walked right up to the front of the line after parking our stroller. Poor Claire was getting so wet! But she didn't seem to mind! The CM directed us to a truck that was already full except for the front seats!! Dh sat directly behind us and took the pics this go around. We were very excited to have such a great view!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/058.jpg

The safari was a lot of fun--very bumpy--but fun!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/054.jpg

After the safari was over we headed back to Camp Minnie Mickey to meet some characters! We didn't have to wait very long at all for any of them! Up first was Donald and Goofy!

Next up was Minnie & Mickey!! Oh the joy and excitement on my girl's faces!!! This was their very first encounter with Minnie & Mickey!! Claire was sooo excited that she started running circles around them!!

By that time Claire and Brent had had enough of the characters. I was disappointed because we still had Chip and Dale left to see--oh well! But we did want to leave plenty of time to get in line for the Lion King show! So we headed towards the theater and got in line. There were only a few families in line ahead of us! We passed the time by talking to the family in front of us--they were from Nashville (only 3 hours from where we live) and had a girl Ally's age! They played together until it was time to go inside. We were very excited to get seats in the 2nd row of the warthog section (front row was reserved)!!

waiting for the show to start

We had all been looking forward to this show! And it was AMAZING--it did not disappoint!! The music, costumes, scenery, etc. I could go on and on!!

this was our warthog section leader--boy did she have a GREAT voice!!

The finale!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/183.jpg

We will definitely be back to see this show!!

As we headed past Camp Minnie Mickey I talked Brent into letting us stop to meet Chip and Dale!! Whoo hoo!! Claire wasn't too interested so Ally got her picture by herself.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/186.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Photopass%20pics/Image0491.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Photopass%20pics/Image0502.jpg

We were getting hungry so we stopped and had lunch at Pizzafari. Brent sat down with Claire while I got the food with Ally. I was very impressed by the CMs here--the lady behind the counter gave Ally a big cupcake and said, "For the princess!!"--Ally was super-excited!! Then she proceeded to come out from behind the counter to help me carry our food to our table! I was very thankful for that! The pizza, salad, and chocolate cake that we enjoyed was very good!! Brent enjoyed a hot Italian sandwich!

After lunch it was still pouring rain but we decided to head over to Dinoland. I wish I could have gotten pics of all the dinosaur stuff (Brent is really into dinosaurs) but it was raining too hard. (next time) Brent asked Ally if she wanted to ride Dinosaur with him and she said she did--so into the line they went! Claire and I headed to the store where the ride lets out. I was really nervous and worried about Ally. I had read about how scary this ride was! And not only that but kids kept coming off of that ride in tears! YIKES!! I noticed the screens in front of me that took the picture on the ride. I started scanning them for Ally & Brent's picture--it finally came up and I snapped a pic!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/194.jpg

Soon after, out came Ally and Brent! They were both smiling (which was a good sign). Ally then proceeded to tell me all about the ride--how she wasn't scared at all, how the ride stopped midway and they just sat there in the dark (oh my!), and how the dinosaur came out to scare them! And she said, "But Mommy, he wasn't real. He was just pretend. He wasn't going to get me." Whew! I was so relieved that she liked the ride!! Brent was a bit bummed that the rain had still not stopped (he wanted to see more of Dinoland) but we made the best of it and decided to go see the Nemo Show!! When we arrived at the theater they were already letting people into the theater and I was afraid we wouldn't get very good seats! But we did!! No one seemed to be filling up the left section near the stage so we headed that way and took our seats!! The girls enjoyed watching the bubbles on either side of the stage--Nemo kept swimming in random bubbles. Claire would spot him, point, and shout "Nemo!" really loud! It was hilarious!! We really enjoyed this show!! It was about 45 minutes long and I couldn't believe it but Claire sat still the entire time!! She LOVED it! We got some great pics of the show! Brent figured out a great setting that didn't require a flash.

We left the theater and it was still POURING rain (I was thinking "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming"--hee hee)! So we decided to leave and head back to our room and get dry before our dinner at O'hana. This is what we found in our room!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/312.jpg

We dried off and relaxed for awhile and then headed to O'hana to check in! The line to check in was quite long but it moved quickly. We had reservations for 5:05 p.m. and they gave us a buzzer. We waited maybe 5 minutes and then were seated. We were given a table by the window and this was our view!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/322.jpg

A few minutes later Leanne (leamom2princesses) and her family walked by and were seated just 2 tables away!! We were able to talk a little while during the coconut races! Leanne was so sweet and her girls were just ADORABLE! I wish we could have spent more time getting to know each other!

Ally at the coconut race

We REALLY enjoyed our dinner at O'hana. We ate some yummy pineapple bread, pork wontons, mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing, honey-coriander chicken wings, shrimp skewers, grilled pork loin, oak grilled tenderloin of turkey, sirloin steak, and stir fried vegetables. The meats were served with a mustard, sweet and sour and peanut sauces. They brought us as much as we wanted! Then for dessert they brought us a special cupcake in honor of our anniversary!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%204/332.jpg

And then for the best part of all--bread pudding served a la mode with bananas foster sauce--YUMMY!! It was so good that we ordered a 2nd one!

Then we headed back to the room to call it a night. We were watching the news and they said that it had rained ELEVEN inches that day!! CRAZY!! We were all a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see much at AK. Oh well--next time!!

Up next: Day 5 at Epcot--breakfast at Akershus!

Great rest of your day! Ugh...that rain!!! The finale pic at the Lion King is so beautiful! Glad Ally liked Dinosaur. My oldest, Michael, rode it for the first time when he was 4 and he did fine as well! Many kids get really frightened though. Neither of my girls have been on it yet, since we didn't go to the AK on our October trip, so I have no clue how they will handle it, but I think they will be fine. Hope so anyway!

Again, with the pictures...your Nemo pics are fabulous. You should post some over on the photography threads - there's a Picture of the Day thread you should post on!

Love 'Ohana! That dessert is one of THE best in all of WDW!!! Love the pic with the surfboard! :thumbsup2

First of all...sorry it rained so much during your trip! You guys totally made the best out of it though! I am so jealous you got to see so many animals out at the safari! I wanted to go first thing in the morning b/c I heard that was the best time to go. I cant wait to post about AK..it is really funny what happens to us! I hate to keep saying it, but our families are so alike! That pic of Ally working hard to do her best at the race and coming in last...the SAME thing happened to Abby and I have the SAME pic to post as well. Too funny:rotfl:Loving your TR!!!

Hi there! Just wanted you to know that I am subscribing and I'm on board. I'm only on page one right now, but I just had to comment on the sleeping pictures of your girls. How precious! Some of the best pictures are when they are sleeping, right?

BTW - my husband & I are becoming Alabama fans. My husband loves volleyball, but I love gymnastics and I LOVE watching Alabama compete. The meets against Georgia are always so fun and they seem to have such a good sports program there.

So after we got settled I decided to see if we could get our Garden Grocer things delivered. So I called the front desk and they got me in touch with Bells Services. The front desk lady said, "Have a magical day!" Well Bells Services was not so magical for us! I called, gave the guy our name, and he checked and said he didn't have our things. I thought that was wierd as they were supposed to be delivered between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.! Hmm. . . so I checked my voicemail on my phone and had a message from GG saying they HAD delivered our groceries to Bells Services. Uggh!! So I called them back and the guy was really rude--not magical in the least! He said that he had just checked but he'd check again and call me right back. Well, I waited and waited and hear nothing! By that time we were all starving and wanting to go get something to eat. I didn't know what to do! Finally, there was a knock at the door and it was our stuff!! Thank goodness! Everything was accounted for and put away in our fridge. We headed straight over to Captain Cook's for some lunch!

Great TR so far! Your girls are adorable!!!! I'm so envious you got to stay at the Poly - I would love to someday.

I had the same problem with Bell Services at POR when we went in Sept 08. Our room was not ready when we arrived so we wandered. When our room finally was ready, we checked with Bell Services about our GG order and our bags (since we used ME). They told us that our bags would be in the room by the time we got there, but for our GG order, we had to actually BE in the room. So I should call when we were. Fine, we only had to walk to the room so when we got in and started unpacking our stuff, I called Bell Svcs, the person, while not really rude but not very helpful, put me on hold and disconnected me twice. I was gettting a little anxious plus we were all tired and had to get ready for our first ADR. I finally got hold of someone and within minutes, our order was delivered to our room.

Hi and welcome to my TR!! Glad you're joining in!! Yes, I would agree--some of the best pics ARE when they are sleeping!! Sooo sweet!! Oooh--nice!! Roll tide!! Yes, Bama has an excellent gymnastics team!! I love watching it as well!! :)

Thanks Tammy!! I noticed that pic from the Poly in your TR, too!! And yes, I like to take pics of celings and well--pretty much anything! I was bound and determined that I would not forget one thing from this trip!! I think that's why I ended up with 3,000 pictures!! :lmao:

Kristen!!! It's so good to hear from you! I have been thinking about you and wondering what you've been up to. I know that summer can get quite hectic, though! Ally's hair was quite challenging to take down! They put a TON of bobby pins in her hair, plus all of the spray and glitter!! Would you believe that I'm STILL finding glitter in both girls hair?! Then I had to brush and brush her hair--then shampoo and scrub--and then some MAJOR conditioner! It was CRAZY!! But I would do it again in a heartbeat b/c it held up so well all week. princess:

The 4 of us went last night and finally saw "Up"!! It was such a great movie!! I laughed AND cried! Claire did pretty well--she kept her glasses on longer than I thought she would.

Then this morning I bought us tickets to see Disney On Ice on Friday, Sep. 25th!! I had a special presale code and got 5th row seats for only $12 each!! The show consists of 4 favorite stories: Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell, Lion King, and Cars. Plus there will be a Disney Princess pre-show that's free to ticket holders--meet a princess and a display of gorgeous gowns. I can't wait!! I think I'm going to keep it a surprise!! :cheer2:

Finally! 5 pages later, I'm finally caught up! GREAT updates Becky!

I probably will forget everything I wanted to comment on, but here goes....

I can't believe you turned around and ran right into your friends! I was at WDW for 10 days and didn't even see so much as a fellow DISer! And I was looking believe you me! Such a cool way to enjoy Disney....with friends. :thumbsup2

I am so glad your girls loved IASW! It's a classic!

Your Spectro pics are AMAZING! We sat in the same spot on the other side of the road! LOVE that parade!

Oh....and the picture of Ally on the teacup ride.....so cute! It totally captures her emotion. Those kinds of pictures are the BEST!

Our AK day was the only day it rained on our trip.bet we toughed it out! My boys aren't afraid of Dinosaur either...glad Ally liked it as well!

We saw Nemo for the first time this trip and were very impressed! Your pictures are so good....as you've already heard from everyone else!

Ahh...FOTLK! Our VERY FAVORITE! But we've always had seats up high, so seeing your pics from floor level is way cool! Those costumes are amazing!

Your character meets look awesome! You met a lot of them at Camp Minnie Mickey....the lines were crazy long on our AK day and so we just met Goofy. The picture of Minnie and Mickey bending down to say Hello to Claire is my favorite!

I so wanted to do 'Ohana for dinner, but we opted for the characters at breakfast. I'd love to do the dinner next time...the food sounds FANTASTIC! :thumbsup2

Ok...not sure if there were other things I wanted to say, but I can't remember them now!

Glad you saw UP...we have yet to fit that in our busy schedule!

You will have to tell me how it was...we will probably evacuate to Dallas this time or Atlanta when a hurricane comes our way so I want to plan!! Cant wait for an update...glad you are home:love:

Oh good! I'm glad Abby liked the AG pics! I took pics of everything--I didn't want to forget our trip!! ;) Yes, the food was very good! We really enjoyed our time there!!

I really like Marisol :)

I know!! AG dolls came out when I was a little older. I wanted one so badly but had already been collecting Madame Alexander dolls. Now I just live vicariously through my daughters!!

Loved the update. I cannot wait to take my girls to AG someday. I would like to go next spring, for Emily's birthday (she is my true doll lover!) We have Nikki, two bitty babies and the bitty twins, but the girls were both eyeballing the dolls from the last catalog- I think they might be on Christmas Lists.

Love the AG pics! I have Kirsten, Felicity and an original Girl of Today! My cousins all had dolls too and we would get together and play with them all the time. My Grandfather was a wood worker and he made all of the furniture for us! All he needed was the picture and he could make an almost perfect replica! I still have all of my dolls and furniture and I can't wait to pass them onto Madison. I got my first doll when I was 9 years old, so I want to wait a bit until I let Madison play with them.

Thanks Meghan!! Nice! I always wanted an AG doll growing up but my grandmother bought me the Madame Alexander dolls instead--and you couldn't really play with them. How nice to have a grandfather that could make you doll furniture!! I'm sure you'll cherish those pieces forever!!!

HI Becky,
I love the AG place pics. Looks like you all had fun. I'm sure Ally is thrilled with her new doll. I like the matching outfits on her and her Samantha doll. Did you make them? Also :yay: for Disney in ice tickets. We went to the Disneyland one last year and it was fun. I don't know if the one you are seeing is coming to Knoxville or not yet. It if does then we will go see it for sure. Glad you finally saw Up. We saw like 5 days before you, better late then never right? It was a great movie, we loved it.

Thank you Nichole! I did not make the outfits (wish I could sew)! I bought them on Ebay from the seller je*designs (http://stores.shop.ebay.com/annloren__W0QQ_armrsZ1). If you bid on the auctions you can get the outfits really cheap. I don't think I've paid more than $20 for an outfit!! And they also sell the matching doll outfits! Oh--and always size up--the clothes run small!

Yes, better late than never! We were waiting for a time to go when Brent could go with us! GREAT movie!! It was worth the wait!

What a fun weekend in Dallas! We are big American Girl fans at our house (we have a Boutique and Bistro here in Atlanta, but we haven't been since last summer), and both Chelsea and I just love the new doll, Rebecca. Lunch looks great at the Bistro -- I love how they even have a Bitty menu for Claire's age group! Claire was cracking me up feeding her Bitty Baby. :rotfl:

Thanks Jackie! Yes, Rebecca is just GORGEOUS!! Ally loves her clothes! We would LOVE to visit Atlanta sometime and go to the B&B there!! I grew up and hour Northeast of Atlanta but never really went into the city as a kid. I would love to take the girls!! Yes, it was nice to have a menu with smaller portions! I don't remember them having that at the NYC store. Yes, Claire was LOVING that Bitty Baby!! She'll be getting one for her 2nd birthday in October!!

We woke up super-early this morning because we had 8:00 a.m. reservations for breakfast at Akershus in Norway.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Planning/AkershusAllyinvite.jpg

So we got dressed and walked the short walk from the Poly to the TTC. We got to the monorail at 7:15 and asked the CM when he thought the monorail might be there. He said, "Anytime now." He was an older man and was friendly but quite strange. And he wouldn't quit talking! I was antsy to get to Epcot in plenty of time for our ressie. Finally, for what seemed like forever--the CM said ok--they're still running their safety checks so it should be only 8 more minutes! Well the time was ticking and he could tell that I was getting irritated so he called someone and set up another monorail train to come get us. So we waited some more. That one never showed up and he told us they had changed their minds! Ugggh!! It was now 7:45 and no monorail was in sight!! He kept saying, "8 more minutes" and I was really getting peeved! Finally at 8:00 a.m. the monorail shows up!! Well, we were definitely late for our ressie and me being the Type A person that I am--I HATE being late to anything! So I was completely stressed out at this point!

So we finally got to Epcot and we ran to the front gate to check-in. I noticed that this was the only park that actually had a list of those with breakfast ressies that were allowed to enter early. At MK they had just taken our word. Once they checked our bags and tickets we RAN to Norway! But along the way I quickly took some pics as I wasn't sure how long we'd be rain-free. I wanted to get pics while I had the chance. Here are pics while entering the park:

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/006.jpg

I was so disappointed that I didn't get Cinderella and Prince Charming with the red carpet--uggh!! Just too rushed!!

I had read here on the DIS that Belle would be the one greeting us at Akershus so I dressed the girls accordingly!

We made it!! FINALLY!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/024.jpg

I checked us in at 8:20 a.m. and the girl said that it wasn't an issue that we were late. She gave us a beeper and we waited.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/026.jpg

We only waited about 5 minutes and then our beeper went off!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/027.jpg

Into the restaurant we went! On the wall we saw this:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/028.jpg

As we briefly waited to meet Belle, we saw this:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/029.jpg

We decided to just get Ally's pic with her because Claire didn't seem interested. This Belle was wonderful!! She spent a lot of time with Ally!

And the one that came with the meal:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Photopass%20pics/Image0511.jpg

We were then seated in the room on the far right of the restaurant. It was maybe half full where we were sitting. Our waitress, Camilla, introduced herself and got our drink orders. She quickly brought our drinks and family-style food (Fresh Fruit, Bacon, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Potato Casserole, Biscuits, and Cinnamon Rolls). Brent went ahead and got all of us some food from the buffet. (I didn't want to miss any of the princesses)

First of all... that would be stressful to be waiting on the monorail. At the Contemporary they said the monorail runs an hour before the park opens, so then what are you supposed to do for a before the park opens ADR?

Secondly what a beautiful picture with Belle... that is so sweet.

That is the prettiest Aurora I think I have ever seen... so great!

At least the rain was not falling as you ran through EPCOT! That was a nice surprise!

We were very pleased with our food, the service, and the princesses!! We'd definitely eat here again!! :thumbsup2 After our meal I took the girls to the bathroom to change out of their princess dresses and into their clothes. Oh my word!! The bathroom at Akershus is TEENY TINY!! It was so small that I had to change Claire first, go give her to Brent, and then go back in and change Ally. After Ally was dressed I took her back out to Brent so I could use the restroom--so 3 trips in and out!! After I was done, I metup with Brent and the girls outside.

It was soooo very stressful, Laura!! I know, I know!! We were going by what they had told us at the Poly. The one at the Poly started running at 7:00 a.m. the day we went to the MK. Apparantly this one didn't start running until 7:30 but that obviously wasn't the case on this day! Thank you! This Belle was just fabulous! And yes, Aurora was GORGEOUS! Ok!! So we left the front of the park and made our way to the ride that was on the top of our list (along the way I took more pics) . . .
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/091.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/092.jpg

Soarin'!!! I could not WAIT to ride this ride!! We parked the stroller (Claire had fallen asleep) and headed into the building and went down the escalator. The line was about a 40 minute wait so Brent got in line with Ally and I grabbed babyswap passes for me and Ally. Since Claire was asleep in my arms I found a bench off to the side near the FP lines. I sat down and let her sleep while I waited and caught up on Facebook via my phone! (Yes, I am a Facebook junkie!!) And about 40 minutes later out came Brent and Ally. Claire was still asleep so I handed her over to Brent--and of course, she woke up!! But she seemed fine so Ally and I headed back on Soarin'. We walked all the way down to where they were filling the lanes and didn't have to wait long at all. Soon we were on the ride! I was really paranoid about our Crocs falling off of our feet so we took them off and shoved them in the pocket below us. The ride was AMAZING!! And Ally thought she was so cool telling me what was going to happen next--it was soooo cute! The ride was over, we got our Crocs back on, and headed to meet back up with Brent and Claire. We all decided to head over to The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/094.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/095.jpg

We walked right onto the ride and into our clams. We took some pics but they didn't turn out too well. Claire was loving this ride as she had fallen in love with Nemo the day before at the show in AK! After we got off of the ride we went straight to Turtle Talk With Crush. The next show was in about 30 minutes so we hung out in the room and watched the stingrays.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/124.jpg

And then soon after that we entered Turtle Talk With Crush. I had heard such great things about this so I was very excited!! Ally sat down in the front with the rest of the kids. Brent, Claire, and I sat on the 2nd row of benches. This is the best pic I could get!

The show began and Crush was soooo entertaining!! About halfway through the show he chose a boy to ask him a question. The boy asked him how old he was. He said, "150 years old, Dude!" And then he called on Ally!! I was sooo excited!! Ally sat there for a minute (I think she was nervous). Finally she asked, "How old are you?" Uh oh! I wasn't close enough to coach her with another question. But Crush was hilarious! He said, "Still 150, Dude!" Everyone laughed and thankfully Ally didn't seem to mind. Whew! After the show she couldn't quit talking about how Crush had talked to HER!! It really made an impression!! Then we went over to the shark and let Ally get her pic taken!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/130.jpg

After we left Nemo we went to the front of the park and rode Spaceship Earth. Claire rode with me and Ally rode with Brent. We all really enjoyed the ride--especially where they take your pic and put you in your own customized world!! When we walked off of the ride we saw this (Claire was too little for them to get her pic):
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/141.jpg

We were getting kind of hungry so we headed to Fountain View Ice Cream for a snack. I would say it was about 1:30 or 2:00 by this time and guess what?! It started raining!!! So we finished up our ice cream and got our ponchos on. Our plan was to head to the WS and visit all of the countries. We stopped by one of the gift shops right before you get to the countries to buy Ally a passport! It was so cute!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/277.jpg

See how it looks like a real passport?! Well, you take it to each country and they stamp it and write something in their language. Then later you can add stickers with pictures of each of the countries. Sooo fun!! I kept it in my purse between stops so it wouldn't get soaking wet. Our first stop was Mexico!! I had never been inside before so we headed in! Ally got her passport stamped and signed and then we saw this! The Mariachi Cobre were performing!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/143.jpg

After listening to them play, we headed to the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros! None of us had ridden this boat ride before. It was fun and a great thing to do since it was raining. However, the ride stopped a few times due to technical difficulties. But we slowly made our way to the end of the ride. We hung out a little more and took some more pics and then headed outside.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/144.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/146.jpg

We got to the front doors and I could not believe how hard it was raining!! It was POURING--you could barely see, it was coming down so hard. So we decided to wait for a bit before we headed out. After awhile it lightened up some--but not much. We were sick of waiting so we decided to make a run for it! We raced out to our stroller to get Claire under the stroller cover and out of the rain. Then we made our way to Norway. It had already rained sooo much that the water was up to my ankles!! I felt sooo disgusting! Ugggh! The water was just not draining very well in the WS. It was quite scary because not only was it raining but it was thundering and lightening! I HATE STORMS!!! We ran straight for the Maelstrom ride and got on immediately. Again, we had never ridden this ride before. It was actually a lot of fun!! The boat went fast and looked like it was going to tip out of the building. But then it turned and raced down a hill and we all got wet!! Claire even liked it!! After the ride we made our way into the gift shops. We put on some hats and got our pic taken with this troll!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/150.jpg

And Ally got her passport stamped and signed!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/151.jpg

Up Next: China! Ally's heart is set on meeting Mulan (the only princess she hasn't met). Will she get to meet her? Or will the rain put a damper on things?

Ugh, that situation with the monorail and the early ADR is exactly why I love driving myself. If I am late well it is my own fault!

Great photopass pictures!

I think that Epcot has the worst drainage out of all the parks. Every time we have been there while it has rained the have been puddles ankle deep all over the place. It is Florida, you think they would have designed it better. :confused3

Awe. Isn't that Belle so pretty??!!!

We got stuck in Epcot as it rained really hard too.

We were in.....I guess we were in the Norway pavilion. Or is it Germany?. Oh well. We were stuck.

It got boring pretty quickly. A photopass photographer was so bored he took a pic of me "in action". Then asked me if I had a card lol

We waiting a while. Then got sick of it and ran.

Yep, I'm 26 and bought a passport. WEll I was technically 24 when I bought it. And getting a few signatures every trip.

Wow! When you update, you update! How frustrating about the monorail -- I am such a Type A, I would have been a complete wreck. I can't stand being late for something!

How cool that Ally was able to meet Ariel! I bet that made her day! Claire was cracking me up with her expressions -- she and Snow White are adorable together.

I am so happy you were able to enjoy a rain-free morning, but what a bummer that the skies opened up again! You really did have the worst luck with weather :(.

Great updates as always, Becky! That monorail situation would have had me in a fit too! :headache: But glad you made it ok! We really enjoyed the Princess breakfast in Norway too - when we went in 2007! I love Claire's kiss prints! Too cute! That's great that you met Cinderella there as well - she is not one of the "usuals" from what I understand.

You got some great photopass shots before it rained. :thumbsup2

I am loving your report! You are all so cute. I was nearly in tears reading about Akershus. We are taking our daughter in January and it's my #1 priority. Did you have to book 90 days out or did you still get to do it at 180? I'm really worried about not getting our ADRs this trip.

The Ally and Crush story is precious! I love it!

Can't wait to hear if you met Mulan. She is my DD's favorite princess.

Great updates, Becky! I love the Princesses at Askersus (spelling? ;)) A few years ago, my sister, cousin and I had a girl's meal there, and I think I want to do that again this trip. We're going to be a bit older than last time :) (27, 18 and almost 10) but heck, who doesn't love a princess?!

This is why I love reading TRs...I never knew about the passports at Epcot! I will for sure have to add that to our plans this trip. I think my goddaughter would like that and it could be something we would do together.

Great updates as usual! :thumbsup2

I love all the great photos you got at Akershus. Your review is timely as I just discovered Akershus does breakfast last night! I'm already trying to plan our dining for December. It looks like a great place to try breakfast. The picture of Ally with Belle is adorable.:cutie: When we did Akershus there was no photopass photog. That's great that you got a photopass picture as well. :thumbsup2

Claires faces with the princesses are so precious. You got so many great photos. We've never taken the girls pictures individually with characters because I get worried they'll run off. We'll have to do that next time for something different. Great update!

Oh my word!! The bathroom at Akershus is TEENY TINY!! It was so small that I had to change Claire first, go give her to Brent, and then go back in and change Ally. After Ally was dressed I took her back out to Brent so I could use the restroom--so 3 trips in and out!! After I was done, I metup with Brent and the girls outside.

yes I remember that too...next time just head out to one of the bathrooms back in FW....the outside near Soarin/Seas w/ Nemo is plenty big!

I know what it is like to tour Epcot in horrid rain....the trip my DH & I took w/ kids prior to kids was terrible rain each day like yours...but we didn't have any little kids to cart around, so we dealt w/ it.

Yeah--I had about HAD it with the monorail that day! Sooo frustrating! It was the only issue we had with transportation all week. Yes, Ally was sooo happy to meet Ariel!! It DID make her day!! And Claire just LOVED Snow White! Yes, I loved having no rain that morning--it was sooo nice!

Great updates as always, Becky! That monorail situation would have had me in a fit too! :headache: But glad you made it ok! Thanks Sara!! Yes, I was surprised to see Cinderella there as well. I had also read that it was unusual to see her there--that's why we booked breakfast at CRT, too!! Can't get enough of Cinderella, though!! :lovestruc Yes, I was very thankful to get the PP pics since we had gotten any family pics at AK the day before! I tell you the best thing I bought for our trip was the $25 stroller cover!! It kept the stroller and Claire fairly dry!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Soleil! Aww!! I'm glad you liked the Akershus update!! You will LOVE it there! We were able to book this 90 days out without a problem (well, my travel agent booked it). The only 2 we were able to book 180 days out was CRT and Chef Mickey's. I wouldn't think it would be an issue especially in January!

Thanks! Akershus is a GREAT place for breakfast!! My travel agent suggested it b/c she said that the food at lunch and dinner is a little strange/different. Yes, there is now a photo package that you get when you eat there!! AND you can add the pics to your PP cd!! Yes, I was afraid the characters would run off, too. So I was just sure to tell them when they got to our table that I wanted pics with each girl. They had no problem with that! I even was sure to get several shots with each to be sure I got a good one. I would just tell them, "Ok, a few more" or "ok, let's get one more." It worked great!! :goodvibes

Great update Becky :goodvibes. Sorry about the monorail issues. I would have been peeved too. Guess it's a type A thing, we get aggravated easier. I love you PSB pics and :yay: for having Ariel in her ballgown. She has never been there on any of our trips, neither is Cinderella usually. Your girls look adorable in their matching Belle/ Minnie outfits. I agree with Ally also your waitress is as pretty as the princesses. Glad Ally got chosen to talk to Crush. Your photopass pics are great too.

Thanks Nichole!! Yes, Ally was going on and on about how Ariel was in her ballgown and if she went back and forth from her fins to her feet. She really overthinks things!!

The crash is horrible. But I'm keeping mum about it. Not telling my family.

We are on our way to the CR. Don't want to alarm them. Though we as we have seen how some bus drivers handle the bus, we were surprised it didn't happen before.

Will I get the pleasure to see another adorable update before tomorow night?

I'm leaving home at 3am on sunday.

Thanks Leanne!! We haven't nailed down a date yet--I actually told Brent this weekend that we needed to do it ASAP so I can start planning again!! We might just be there the same time as you. Ally's last day of school is May 21st (unless they have to make up any days due to weather). I'm pretty sure we'll be staying at the Poly again--if not the Poly, the Grand Floridian. We left Norway and headed to China. The rain was still coming down HARD! Ally's heart was set on meeting Mulan as she was the only princess Ally had not met yet. I knew she was usually out walking around but with the rain I wasn't sure if she would make an appearance. So we headed into the China Pavilion and had Ally's passport signed and stamped. We looked around the shops and I stopped to ask a CM what time Mulan might be out. She said that she should be coming out again at 4:00 p.m. and she pointed to these red doors across the shop. She said she would be making her way to the temple. Well it was only a little after 3:00-uggh! So we looked around for awhile longer and decided to go ahead and check out the temple. We walked in the temple around 3:37 p.m. and guess who we saw! It was Mulan!! But she was about to head out of the doors for a break! Oh no! I was afraid she wouldn't stop to see Ally--but she DID!!! She was soooo sweet!! She took some time talking to Ally and signing her autograph book.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/153.jpg

And then we got a picture!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/156.jpg

As soon as she said goodbye, she walked out of the doors that you see behind Ally in the picture! Ally was beyond THRILLED to have met Mulan!! :cloud9: And I was thankful that she didn't brush Ally off--now THAT'S some Disney magic!! We continued into the temple and I got some pics of the inside.

After we saw everything we decided to head back outside. Well, it was still pouring! So we took a seat on the benches outside and ended up striking up a conversation with a family from New York City. I was too afraid to get out my nice camera to get pics of this rain but Lessa (Lifelong Dreamer) said I could borrow some from her TR (she was there the same day as us). Take a look at this rain!

Remember how I said before how it was up to my ankles?
http://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll421/polnickyhunt/Disney%20May%202009/May%2020th%20-%20Epcot/D5214.jpg

http://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll421/polnickyhunt/Disney%20May%202009/May%2020th%20-%20Epcot/D5210.jpg

We decided to move on to Germany and then to Italy (sorry no pics due to the rain). Ally of course had her passport stamped and signed! Then we headed to the USA Pavilion. Thankfully by then it was only drizzling!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/169.jpg

Claire was asleep in her stroller but I REALLY wanted to see the Voices of Liberty perform. So Brent offered to stay with her outside while I took Ally inside (They have turnstiles you have to go through to enter so we would have to take Claire out of the stroller to enter--I didn't want to wake her up). The Voices of Liberty were already singing as we entered--they were singing "Rockytop"--uggh! Of all the songs, we walked in on that one! You see, we are HUGE Alabama fans but we live in Tennessee. We have to endure that song ALL the time during AL/TN games and it tends to be very annoying. My dad is a big TN fan and sings it to my girls just to rile me up! However, I must admit that this version was beautiful! The Voices of Liberty are AMAZING! They sing accapella in EIGHT part harmony! It reminds me of the madrigal choir I was in during high school but sooo much better! I had left the camera with Brent outside so I didn't get any pics. However, Lessa is letting me borrow some (thanks again!!!). We must have missed each other by an hour or so. So this was the same group of singers that we saw!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvjYfrOhmVU

As we were inside, Brent took these pics of our stroller cover! Best $25 I spent for our trip!! You can see the bandanas from my PTR on our stoller. These worked great for spotting our stroller in the crowd! We ended up having to throw them away after the trip b/c they were sooo mildewed from all of the rain!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/170.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/171.jpg

Once Ally and I got her passport taken care of, we headed over to Japan.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/180.jpg

We went inside the stores and looked around for a bit. Then we were off to Morocco! The rain was coming down pretty good again and we were having the hardest time finding the Kidcot stop. We thought we had found it but as we entered the room it ended up being the meet and greet for Jasmine and Aladdin! What luck! Claire was still sleeping so Brent took her elsewhere as Ally and I stood in line. We were maybe the third in line! Aladdin and Jasmine arrived very soon after with a CM holding HUGE umbrella over their heads. They were glad to be in a dry room!! Soon it was Ally's turn!!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/216.jpg

We stopped at the Boulangerie Patisserie and had some chocolate eclairs for a snack!! YUM!! Sooo good! As we headed out we saw Belle, the Beast, and Aurora inside one of the shops with beautiful stained glass windows. Brent didn't want to stop so I was bummed about that. So we moved on to the United Kingdom.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/220.jpg

We went into one of the shops and Ally saw some Alice in Wonderland dresses that she LOVED! They were sooo cute!! We noticed by the Kidcot stop there was a line forming. I asked a lady who was standing in line with her daughter who they were waiting on--she said Alice! So we jumped in line behind them! We had not run into Alice yet!! The lady explained how they had been in the shop earlier that day looking for Alice and they had told her to come back around 6:15ish for the last time to meet Alice. The girl was even wearing an Alice dress from the shop! She couldn't WAIT to meet her!! Well, in walked a CM and behind him came--well let's just say it was NOT Alice!! The CM said they must have given her some wrong info. The little girl was in tears and the mom quickly left with her, obviously very upset!

We hung around anyways! Next up. . . who was it that we got to meet?

Becky another wonderful update....

man that was some horrible rain! YUCK! nothing compared to what we had, it may have poured but not all day. You and your family are troopers to endure all that and still have :) on...good for you!

How lucky to still catch all those great characters inside and I bet the lines were down due to the rain. The twins met Jasmine and Aladdin plus the Genie back during our 05 trip, but Mae has yet to meet them, she was hoping to meet Jasmine especially during our last Epcot day...

that is too bad about the Alice story and the little girl...:sad1: my guess is you either met Mary Poppins or WTP and friends.

The BEAST is awesome, we had fun meeting him on our trip...well you have to leave some hugs for the next trip right! ;)

and I too love the Voices of Liberty, so glad you got to hear them perform! What a treat.

looking forward to the next update popcorn::

Let me guess who you met, was it the Pooh characters or Mary Poppins? that stinks about Alice. Kaylee has that Alice dress and she wears it all the time. Great update and pics as always. We were ankle deep in water most of the trip, wasn't it awful? You saw lots of characters this day :goodvibes. I think GF would be a good choice for your next trip. Did you see those cabana's you can rent by the pool? I would love to do that. GF is not my top choice for theme but Kaylee is dying to stay there. We eat there almost every trip and she loves the lobby. I guess any little princess would love to stay there. You know I'm laughing about your TN comments :lmao: everyone in this town bleeds orange. It's kind of crazy. We are not really college football fans though.

Great wet update!! I love the pic of you and Claire (that smile)! I'm soooo glad Ally was able to meet all the princesses. Can't wait to hear who was in the place of Alice.

I want to say (but do not hold me to it--they put out the offer of 4/3-7days in the end of Nov beg Dec--we had planned to the first week of Jan, than the third week--as Gwendolyn was accepted into the college program--but when she found she could not go due to Health Ins reasons--the special came out and we planned for May).

So who came in behind that CM?! Well, it was Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore!! I knew that we'd be seeing them Friday night at Crystal Palace. But I also knew that there wouldn't be a PP photographer at the dinner (they should really do that, you know?!). So we decided to wait and meet them! Again, it was a short wait! Then we left the WS and headed back to Test Track. Brent and Ally got in line to ride while Claire and I hung out inside. We watched as people came off of the ride and found their ride picture. I went ahead and got our PP card ready (they can put the TT pic on your PP if you ask them). When Brent and Ally got off of the ride (which they both LOVED, BTW) they couldn't find their picture. So we headed to the picture desk and they were able to find it and put it on our PP card.

Then we walked over to Mission Space. Brent wanted sooo badly to ride this ride. He's always had a thing for space and his dream as a kid was to go to Space Camp. He never got the chance--so this was right up his alley! He did the orange--the more intense ride.

This duck came right up to Ally as we were waiting. He would have sat in her lap if she had let him! Sooo cute!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/272.jpg

Brent finally came out of the ride (it seemed like he had been gone forever!!) and it started raining again. We were exhausted so we decided to call it a night and head back to our room. We were greeted by this!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%205/275.jpg

We were able to catch the very end of American Idol!! I can't believe that Kris won! Brent and I both thought that Adam was WAY more talented--oh well! Then Brent took Ally down to the end of our hallway to watch Wishes from the big window. I stayed in the room with Claire and watched the new show "Glee"! Let me tell you--I'll be tuning into every episode this fall! I LOVED this show! It's about this teacher growing a mediocre show choir into a phenomenal show choir (by recruiting the cheerleaders, football team, etc.)! Brent and I both were in show choir in high school--it brought back memories! Check out this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-eD-AQjByQ

And this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Akr9fRajrKM

Anywho, Brent didn't miss much of the show as they were back in the room at about 15 minutes later! The girls fell asleep after "Glee" was over and we headed to bed as well!

Next up: breakfast @ Chef Mickey's and 2nd day in Magic Kingdom! Pixie Hollow--which fairies will we meet?

J-

Thanks Julie!! Check out the 2nd update!! Yes, we were very pleased with how many characters we got to see! And the shorter lines certainly were a benefit of the rain! Yes, we're definitely meeting the Beast on the next trip!

Yep, the Pooh characters!! Check out the update!! Yes, the ankle deep water really grossed me out! Uggh! Thank goodness for my Crocs! I did not see the cabanas--will have to check that out! If we don't stay there, we'll definitely be eating there! We want to do the 1900 Park Fare for sure!! Yes--TN fans can be a litle crazy! They play "Rocktop" nonstop during the games whether their winning OR losing! :confused3

Thanks! Check out the update to see who she met! I thought the offer had come out sometime around then. My memory isn't as good as it was before I had kids!! :lmao: KWIM?!

I got them at Target!! ;) I know! Ally's hair stayed that way ALL week! It was great--especially with all of the rain! Yes, Voices of Liberty are a MUST see!! :thumbsup2

Hey there!

I am lurking a figured I would post!

I have the following questions. I apologize if they were asked before.

#1- All that rain and your hair was so straight. Did you straighten it or are you one of the lucky people who doesn't have to?

#2- Love the pink purse. What's the name of that Vera? Did you think it was big enough?

#3- I have what will be a 22 month old and we just decided to upgrade to Poly, how did you know what building you wanted to be in? How did you request it?

#4- Did you guys use the pool? What tips do you have for little ones your daughters age?

Thanks!!!

Yes, thank you, thank you!! Did you have a video camera or did you take the video on a regular camera? Soooo glad we got to see Mulan, too!! Ally would have been sooo disappointed and this was our only day at Epcot. We MUST have just missed each other! That stinks! It would have be fun to meet up!

Nope no video camera, just shot it on the point and shoot. Pretty decent quality, I was pleased!

Love that picture of you and Eeyore.

Hi and :welcome: Annie!! I'm glad you're coming out of lurkdom and joining in!! No problem! I'd be happy to answer your questions!
1) I do straighten my hair with a flat iron every morning. But my hair is just wavy--not naturally curly like Ally's. Plus I kept it in a ponytail most of the time and tried my hardest to keep it under the hood of my poncho so it wouldn't get wet! ;)

2)Thank you!! The name of it is Cupcake Pink! The hipster was the perfect size for what I needed! I highly recommend it! I also love that it kept me hands-free! The only problem I had was that it faded quite a bit. Not sure if it was due to the sun or just all of the rain we had--or it could just be that pattern.

3) I knew which building I wanted to be in from reading the DIS--especially this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2140273 and http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/. TONS of great Poly info!! I told my travel agent and she requested it for me. I'm sure you could just contact them or whoever you booked through!

4) Unfortunately we did not get to use the pool due to all of the rain! It was just too cold and wet! Tips on young ones--pack plenty of snacks, go with the flow--there were many times Brent had to take Claire somewhere else while I stood in line with Ally, take a stroller they can nap in, and schedule down time if needed.

Nope no video camera, just shot it on the point and shoot. Pretty decent quality, I was pleased!

Love that picture of you and Eeyore.

school groups like field trip type -- I have a girlfriend in Tampa that is from New Orleans and once when her son was in middle school (that was his first trip to WDW) he went to WDW & one other park for a field trip end of May:confused3

also Memorial Day; that is the week most schools let out of school across the south (I know I have always planned a trip at that time of the year; we always leave the day Dayne gets out of school) and people are trying to beat the heat and the summer time crowds (that what we were hoping for) and :rotfl:the rain

the crowds start really heavy the week after through out the summer; but lines were usually anywhere from 75-120 min. We did a parent swap on Dinosaur and it took Danny & I 30 min.:confused3

Oh my gravy, that rain was intense, wasn't it? I don't know about you, but whenever I am there and it rains, I am always surprised by how fast and furious it comes down - it's either clear or a torential downpour, there doesn't seem to be much in between!

I am loving reading your trip report. We were there MAy 15-22 and endured the monsoons as well. It is so funny to hear what you were doing during each of the rain days and comparing them to where we were that day. We were at DHS during the 11 inch rain day which I have to say was a pretty good park to be at. At least most everything is inside. Just running from attraction to attraction was the worst.

I love the outfits you dress your girls in each day! Where did you get the AK and EPCOT outfits? They are adorable! Can't wait to read up on the rest of your trip.

You're SO right about Adam, he totally got robbed, not to take anything away from Kris I liked him, but he was not near the talent that Adam was. Oh well we know from the past you don't have to win to be the most sucessful.

And I loved Glee, I wasn't even in show chorus just Jr High Glee club.

Another wonderful update, Becky! Those girls just are DARLING in those outfits - I am SO looking forward to when I can dress up some baby girls and boys! :lovestruc

Oh my gravy, that rain was intense, wasn't it? I don't know about you, but whenever I am there and it rains, I am always surprised by how fast and furious it comes down - it's either clear or a torential downpour, there doesn't seem to be much in between!

I love EPCOT; I would have to say after AK it's my favorite place. I could spend hours wandering around the World Showcase. I'm glad you got to have an eclair - we make it a special point to go to that shop each trip and get something sugary and delicious - yum! :yay:

Thanks Katie!! Yes, the rain was VERY intense!! I LOVE Epcot as well--it's my 2nd favorite after MK! And the WS is my favorite part about it!! Sooo fun!! BTW--did you get the bows? Just wanted to be sure! :cutie:

Awesome update despite the rain:goodvibes It was coming down SO HARD! We saw Jasmine and Alladin too, but the line was extremely long!! Bummer---they looked so nice. Also, loved the outfits (of course) SO impressed that you kept them looking so great in the rain! :worship: Can't wait to read more!

Hi Katie!! How's the beach?! Glad you're able to check-in! Thank you!! I got the outfits at a great price but it wasn't worth all the drama that ensued! Check out my PTR for that story!!

Just got all caught up on your soggy day, Becky! That rain is crazy! I can imagine your feet must have been freezing. Great pictures of Mulan, Jasmine, Aladdin, and the WTP gang! I love it when you get good photopass people who aren't afraid to just snap away some candid shots! Those are usually some of the best!!

Voices of Liberty are fabulous, aren't they? Their harmonies are glorious and I agree about that soprano - gorgeous and effortless!

Cute towel animal! You guys had great mousekeepers!! :goodvibes

Sara

Yes, Sara--that rain was INSANE!! And it was a very cold, wet rain! Not only were my feet cold but my ENTIRE body was freezing!! Wish I had brought a sweatshirt! Yes, he was the best PP person we had all week!! Yes, Voices of Liberty was incredible! A must-do for every trip IMO! Our mousekeeper was GREAT! We had different towel creations every night! We tipped her really well for all the magical moments she created for my girls!

Hi and welcome to my TR!! So you can totally relate, huh?! Sorry you had to endure the rain! Thank you!! A friend of mine made all of the outfits except the AK ones. The AK outfits were from Baby GAP from last year.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation with us. I am really enjoying your trip report and can't wait for the next installment! We have never tried Norway for breakfast before and I think we will have to give it a try.

Hi and welcome!! Glad you're joining in!! You MUST try Norway for breakfast!! it is WONDERFUL!!

Great update! I may have missed someone else asking this, but do you know how long you guys took to do the WS at Epcot? I'm trying to get a plan together and was wondering how much time to allow. And seeing how much Ally loved doing the Passport is making me think I need to get Griffin one too. It looks like a good way to get them involved in the different countries...

Thanks!! Hmmm. . . let's see--I'll check my time stamps on my pics but I'm not sure how accurate it will be for you since we had soooo much rain. Ok--my first pic from Mexico says 2:21 p.m. and my last photo in Canada says 6:34 p.m. So it took us a little over 4 hours do get all the way around the WS. Hope this helps! The passport was sooo much fun for Ally! She wanted to maked the mask, too but couldn't due to the rain.

Hi! Your trip report is so fun and entertaining! :thumbsup2 My husband and I were at Disney the week before you and it was so hot and sunny! Funny how weather works huh? We never got to ride Soarin! I have been twice in the past 2 years and no luck. I also thought it was cool that you and your husband sing at church, I am in the choir at church and I have my first solo coming up soon and I am soooooooooo nervous.:scared: Can't wait for more! BTW, Your family is adorable!

Hi and welcome!! Man how I wished I went a week sooner but you just never know, right?! Girl--you HAVE to ride Soarin' when you go again. It is sooo worth it!! Get FPs if you need to!! Oh wow! Your first solo!! What will you be singing? I've been singing solos since I was little but I STILL get nervous! It keeps you humble!! BTW--you are such a beautiful couple!! Gorgeous siggy pic! And I love your Princess and the Frog pic! My girls can't WAIT until December when it comes out!!

Hi Becky
Can't remember if I've posted on your TR before, I read WAY too many !
I just have to comment on your non Disney comments in that last post.

Now thanks to those borrowed pictures I'm going to go find Leesa's TR and start reading it too
Lynn

Hi!! Thanks for joining in!! Yes, Kris was good but Adam was OUTSTANDING!! And your exactly right. Most of the runners up have been sooo much more successful than the winners! LOVE Glee!! And you MUST check out Lessa's TR!! It is a land AND sea report!! I can't wait until she gets to the cruise part of her trip! You don't see many cruise TRs on here!!

Hey!
I just found your TR yesterday, and now I'm all caught up. We were there the same week as you, and I think we followed almost the same schedule! We were at MGM the same day, and at MK the next day, and as you were talking about waiting and waiting for the rain to let up under the castle, I think we were doing the same thing by the restrooms by Peter Pan. We also ate lunch at Columbia Harbor House that day! The next day we went back to MK when you were at AK, but we were at Epcot the same day as you and had to wade through World Showcase in ankle deep water, too! Unfortunately, we WEREN'T wearing crocs - all of us had on tennies and socks that day. OMG by the time we got to Mousegears to get out of the rain, we literally had to take off our shoes, dump them out, and wring out our socks! We had dinner ADRs at Garden Grill, so we stayed, but my feet NEVER dried out. Needless to say, we left after dinner. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip, I wonder if the remaining days will line up with ours?

Today was a VERY early morning for us! We had breakfast ressies at Chef Mickey's for 7:45 a.m.!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Planning/CMAllyinvite.jpg

We got up and got dressed and were on the monorail to the Contemporary just before 7:30. Just to show you how quickly we made it from the Poly to the Contemporary, this pic was taken at 7:32 . . .
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/004.jpg

. . .and this one at 7:36!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/005.jpg

As we were stepping off of the monorail I heard someone calling my name. It was Julie (TwoRoos) and her family! They were staying at the Contemporary and were headed to MK (as we would be later). She quickly told us that she had been looking for us downstairs at CM and was so excited to have run into us! We quickly made plans to meetup at MK. I told her that I would call her when we were headed that way!

We headed over to CM, parked our stroller, and headed in to check-in.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/006.jpg

They gave us a buzzer and had us sit down in the waiting area beside the CM picture line.

Brent & Claire waiting

Ally waiting
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/015.jpg

The girls played with some of the other kids that were there waiting. And a little before 8:00 we had our picture made and were seated. (We did not end up buying the pic--it was NOT good--I was disappointed as I had wanted to purchase this pic.)

the view from our table
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/025.jpg

Our waiter came and got our drink orders and we went ahead and got some food from the massive buffet!

Mickey waffles
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/030.jpg

The food was very good--there was sooo much to choose from! Soon they started playing music, the characters came out, and everyone started twirling their napkins in the air! How fun!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/038.jpg

Ally got a kick out of this! And we saw Donald passing our table dancing! Then our waiter brought us a cupcake in honor of our anniversary!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/041.jpg

Ally & Brent
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/044.jpg

Finally the characters started greeting everyone! First up was Goofy!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/047.jpg

For some reason Goofy's head just doesn't look right in these pics!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/051.jpg

The characters seemed somewhat rushed but I was sure to tell them when they got to our table what pics I was wanting. A pic with Ally, a pic with Claire, and a pic with all of us. Some I was able to get and some I was not.

Donald was next!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/057.jpg

He was really sweet with Ally but ran off before I got a pic with Claire.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/060.jpg

Thankfully Mickey made up for it! (see Claire clapping--she ADORES Mickey)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/062.jpg

Ally had not seen Mickey come up to our table. She was turned around looking over her chair to see who might be coming next. Mickey snuck up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/064.jpg

She was sooo surprised! I was so happy that I was able to get her reaction on camera! It was priceless! I had tears in my eyes at this point!

A pic with all of us
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/065.jpg

And then came Pluto!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/073.jpg

And finally came Minnie!!! (she spent a lot of time with us as well)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/085.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/087.jpg

Another one of my favorite pics from this trip! It's my Profile pic on Facebook!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/092.jpg

Ally was showing Minnie her Minnie Mouse Jibbitz on her Crocs! (Check out Claire's arm reaching for Minnie)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/093.jpg

So all in all it was a good breakfast. Minnie and Mickey seemed to be the most attentive but the others not so much.

By this time it was about 9:10 and we decided to check out the stores at the Contemporary.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/095.jpg

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/097.jpg

We didn't stay too long before we headed back up to the monorail. Julie called and we planned on meeting up in Toontown to meet the fairies. And off to MK we went!

Up Next: How long did we wait to see the fairies? Which fairies will we meet?

In terms of our days--this day I'm writing on now was spent in MK and so was Friday. Saturday we were at HS for SWW and then flew out later that day. Glad you're joining in!!

Thank you Nichole! That is just sooo disappointing about Tusker House! My SIL and her family are eating there Sunday morning--it's the only character meal they're doing on their trip this next week. I'm praying they aren't disappointed! They are paying OOP as they aren't on the DDP (tried to talk them into it and so did Brent). It's such a shame!

I hope your SIL and her family are not disappointed in Tusker House. At least the food is really good there. But I guess most character breakfasts are. Tusker House is a bad choice for character interaction. I knew before we went from reading other TR, so it wasn't a huge surprise. I agree SIL should have done the DDP, it's so convenient also it is the one thing Tommy loves in Disney ;).

I have been away for a while and I just finished catching up on your report. I love the girl's Minnie dresses, so cute. I am glad that you liked Akershus, we also did. Akershus was one of my favorite parts of the trip and we didn't even get to see the "best" princesses. I am definitely going back again. I have a 13 yr. old daughter and a almost 7 yr. old son, so I am really the one who likes it the most.;)

It sounds like you all had a great Epcot day even with the horrible rains. That was a lot of water!

We have never been to Chef Mickey's. It looks like so much fun. I love the "surprise" picture. Good job catching it.

I hope they're not disappointed either. They've never done a character meal before so thankfully they won't have anything to compare it to! They are staying at my MIL's time share resort (off Disney property) so I think they're trying to save $ by eating there. We LOVED the DDP and will always get it--sooo worth the $!

Chef Mickey's is so fun, isn't it! We went there for breakfast a few years ago, and dinner this spring. I think I liked the dinner even better. Our picture wasn't any good either - what is it with those photographers? I read on someone's TR recently that the Chef Mickey photographer flat out refused to take an additional photo with their camera as well - geesh! I have to say - I am ADORING your daughters' custom disney outfits! I wonder if my girls are getting too old for that at 5 and 8? I'd love to dress them up themed to whatever park or restaurant we're going to that day - I don't know why I never thought of it!

gotta love that monorail :thumbsup2

sorry you were half and half on CM...that seems to be the case sometimes here on the boards...good and bad and then ok.

But I'm glad you got at least most of your pic's! and the one of Ally's smile seeing Mickey is just too cute! How fun, that will be a great story to share as she get's older!

looking forward to your day at MK, hope you meet the fairies

and I thought of you yesterday when I was at Great America, it rained lightly but for about 2 hours all the rides were shut down...and kept thinking man if we were at Disney even if it were cats and odgs at least we could do something....

Becky, I read through your PTR because I wanted to find out more about your customs, but when I was reading I noticed you said you write a blog and have it turned into a photobook - what site do you use for this? Is it the blog site that does it, or a photo site? You are the second person I've heard of having a blog turned into a book, and I am totally intrigued by this idea. I'd love to try it. Did the book end up being really really long? Or did you sort of pic and choose which entries to put in? Sorry this is a bit off topic!

Yes, I do write a blog--I'll PM you the link! I have not gotten my blog turned into a book yet but there is a link on my blog to that site. My good friend used this site to turn her blog into a book--she gave it as gifts at Christmas. She ended up doing it for the year. Her book was really thick! She even printed the everyone's comments of each post--it was AWESOME!!

I have some exciting news!! (Those of you who are my Facebook friends have already heard) We bought a new vehicle today!! We had a 2004 Honda CRV that we traded in.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Honda%20Odyssey/025.jpg

Brent was wanting to get another CRV but I was wanting an Odyssey (never thought I'd want a van but I sooo wanted more room)! He was pretty adamant that we would be getting another CRV. We ended up getting . . .

. . . the Odyssey in Dark Cherry Pearl!! Apparantly I'm pretty persuasive!! :lmao:

Ok--so we left the Contemporary after a wonderful breakfast at CM and took the monorail to MK! We arrived at MK around 9:40 a.m., had our bags checked, and made our way to the PP photographer standing out front. Here are the pics that were taken:

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/100.jpg

Our goal for today was to meet the fairies in Toontown! So we headed in that direction as soon as we entered the park. But quickly stopped to take this adorable pic (Ally loves to pose--can you tell?!)
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/108.jpg

We made it to Toontown at exactly 10:00 a.m.!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/110.jpg

Brent was pushing the stroller and I was taking as many pics as I could along the way b/c it wasn't raining yet! I wasn't sure what I was going to be able to get later in the day. Anywho, I was walking sooo fast and with a purpose to get in that fairy line!! I thought I heard someone calling my name so I finally looked around and there was Julie (TwoRoos) and her family! Apparantly she had been calling my name several times but I hadn't heard her since I was in a fairy zone!! :lmao: She had the same goal to see the fairies so we quickly parked our strollers and got into the fairy line--wait time 70 minutes! Ugggh!

Julie and me in line

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/127.jpg

Alll in all we ended up waiting about 55 minutes to see the fairies (the longest thing we stood in line for on our trip except the night we stood in the rain for Fantasmic!) But it was well worth the wait! We were greeted by Silvermist (Ally was sooo excited b/c Silvermist is her next favorite fairy after Tinkerbell).

I'm so dreading that wait, but meeting Tinkerbell is all that Lily can talk about so I guess we'll do it.

Love your girls' outfits, of course. Was Ally's hair stiff from BBB? That's my only concern about doing BBB - Lily has a lot of hair, and I just don't know how I feel about trying to get all that product out of it.

sad goodbyes
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/185.jpg

We told the girls that we'd be seeing each other again. Julie is originally from Memphis and her parents still live here. So we promised the girls we would get together when they came down for a visit. They were NOT happy with us! It was so sweet how connected Ally & Macy had become--and so quickly! They were instant friends!

I tried to cheer Ally up by suggesting we go to the Judge's Tent to meet Mickey & Minnie. (I realize that we had just met them at breakfast but I wanted the PP pics) So we quickly walked through Mickey's house and took some pics in his garden. (Brent decided he would walk around with Claire)

And into the tent we went!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/192.jpg

The line was wrapped all the way around the inside of the building and ended right at the door. I was worried that the wait was going to be crazy so I decided to ask the CM how long the wait was. She said it would only be 30 minutes so we decided to stay. I could not believe how fast that lined moved!! I was shocked and impressed! We didn't stand still for long and finally it was our turn! We only ended up waiting 25 minutes.

big hugs for Mickey!!

We had such a great time hanging out with Minnie and Mickey. Right before we left Mickey told Ally, "I love you" while making the motions with his hands. It was adorable and Ally was thrilled! We met back up with Brent and Claire and decided to take a ride around the park on the train.

We really enjoyed the ride around the park. It was neat getting to see everything from a different perspective. Plus it was very relaxing! Once we made the loop around the park, we were back at Toontown. We got off of the train and walked the back way towards the Tomorrowland Speedway. Claire and I found a spot in the shade next to the track while Ally & Brent got in line. We watched and watched as cars rode by. I was ready and waiting with my camera! Ally & Brent came by so quickly that I was only able to get this shot:

We decided that we had better see Storytime With Belle before it started raining again. The next show was at 2:30 p.m. so we went ahead and grabbed front row seats around 2:10 p.m. I gave the girls some Goldfish for a snack and to pass the time.

Ally was really excited about this show

Soon after 2:30 the show began and out came Belle!!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/254.jpg

This Belle was a great storyteller and really drew everyone into what was going on! My girls were on the edge of their seats!! Then they started choosing children from the audience to become part of the story. I was really hoping that Ally would be chosen--this kind of stuff is right up her alley! But unfortunately she was not chosen. The kids that were chosen were adorable and did a great job!

Claire sat very still throughout the entire show
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/266.jpg

Then Belle started talking about The Beast as her helpers searched out someone to play this role.

This Daddy was chosen!! He got really into his part! It was great!
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/ladybugmom_/Disney%20Vacation%202009%20Day%206/273.jpg

So once the Beast turned back into a prince, everyone took their bows and the show was over. I am sooo glad that we got to see this show! It was so much fun! It's definitely something we'll do again!

I took a quick pic of Ally looking at the castle

And then we walked around Cinderella's Rose Garden. It was beautiful!

We decided to stop again and get some PP pics since the weather was cooperating. These ended up being some of my favs of our trip!!

We decided it was time for a snack! I had my very first frozen banana which was INCREDIBLE!!! Brent had a frozen lemonade and Ally had a Mickey ice cream sandwich.

Up Next: Will Ally ride her very 1st roller coaster? Will the rain hold off? How/where will we end our day?

I'm so dreading that wait, but meeting Tinkerbell is all that Lily can talk about so I guess we'll do it.

Love your girls' outfits, of course. Was Ally's hair stiff from BBB? That's my only concern about doing BBB - Lily has a lot of hair, and I just don't know how I feel about trying to get all that product out of it.

Well thankfully the wait is soooo worth it!! I promise!! Thank you Shannon! Yes, Ally's hair was very stiff from the BBB but I'm glad it was b/c it lasted all week! Ally has a lot of hair, too and it wasn't horrible getting out the product.

What a fun time; while waiting...that was so lucky!
Great pictures...Dayne (DS17) sitting here on the side of me and asked what is the matter w/Tink's hair--Silvermist is much prettier!
anyhow, great shots I love how Ally is sooooo photogenic and Claire is getting good, too.

Yes, we had a wonderful time hanging out with Julie and her family! It was great to meet yet another DISer!! Our Silvermist WAS beautiful and so was Fawn! Brent kept commenting on how beautiful Fawn was. Thank you--yes, Claire is getting much more photogenic (thankfully). Wait until you see my pics from CP!!

Don't you love how Mickey and Minnie are now together. Makes for a great photo op! We had great interaction there too. It looks like Mickey has Tink in his hand in the one picture. Very cool!

Crazy wait on the fairies. We'd love to do the fairy meet in WDW but may have to wait until the lines calm down a little.

Love your new van. Great color choice.:thumbsup2 I'm a mini-van mom too and love it! We've had several times when all seats were filled to capacity with other children either on play dates or carpools. I love being able to push a button and have the doors slide easily open and shut. It's great for dropping the kids off at school in the morning. You'll love your new van! Great choice.

Oh I loved your update!

How cute is Ally in her diva sunglasses?! She is just the cutest!

And I teared up a little myself at seeing how sad the 2 girls were to part ways - that was so sweet that they wanted to spend more time together!

Another wonderful update, Becky! I am so excited you all got to meet the fairies!!! The pictures with Tink are just too cute! So are the pictures with Mickey and Minnie! How wonderful that the girls got along so well, but how sad they are when you had to split up! I am so glad the rain held off for you, and you were able to enjoy the Magic Kingdom for awhile! :thumbsup2

Did it used to be just Mickey? I did love that they were together!! It certainly makes the wait worth it!! Yeah--the fairy wait IS crazy! But I do think it's worth it! I've heard if you get there right when the rope drops to Toontown then the wait is not as long. Thank you! I'm sooo happy with the van! It will be great when I have to drop Ally off at school. She figured out how to work the doors before I did!! sooo funny!

Thanks you Katie! Hee hee!! She loves her Sharpay sunglasses (as she calls them). Yes, I didn't quite expect that reaction from the girls. It was very sweet!!
