We used two sets of vouchers today to buy tickets. One set from Delta and one from American. With American, they only charged the base fare, not any taxes, etc. They said they don't charge that when using vouchers. At Delta, they charged the full fare, saying they still had to charge all the fees. I didn't complain since the tickets are more or less free. Just wondered why one charged the fees/taxes and other didn't. In the past AA has had the same policy of not charging taxes/fees. Thanks.

On my SW Rapid Reward vouchers it does state that we will have to pay the 9-11 Security fee when we get to the airport (just a few dollars) and on the vouchers we used last June, obviously, we didn't have any fees to pay. Could the fee they're charging be the airport's 9-11 security fee?

The 9-11 fee is part of it. So are all the other taxes/fees. The ticket cost was the base rate of $210 plus the $58 or so extra per ticket as quoted as if I were paying with a credit card. These fees are higher because there is a connection and I believe they charge per airport we fly out of.

I have a question on when you are able to request the voucher..
Is it available just when you find lower priced tickets for your specific flights; Or can you request vouchers if there are lower priced tickets available for the days or your flights?
