we'll be staying at the pop century for free dining this september (i can't bring myself to go to our favorites - GF, WL, OKW - now that DS won't be with us :sad1:)...

never having stayed at the pop century, i have a question regarding the internet connection...

is it a high speed connection? - i can't imagine that disney would provide anything but a high speed connection, but you never know....

i'll end up assuming it and then DH will be up a creek so to speak...
(he HAS to be connected for work much of them time we're there)..

so does anyone know for sure?

Yes, all Disney resorts have in-room High-Speed Internet Access. I believe it's $9.95 a day (or a 24 hour period). Certain resorts have WI-FI but Pop Century does not.

Yep we had highspeed there. Cable was in the closet.

Pop is usually my resort of choice and they do have hi-speed. Make sure not to take the cable by accident because you will be charged for it. I can't remember what the charge is but recall it is way higher than a 6ft. Cat5 cable should be.

I also think the cord is kind of short considering when the outlet in the wall is - so you might want to bring your own long one if you have it/can fit it.

Yes I do. I only use the resort as a place to sleep so I don't need all the added amenities of the Mods or Deluxes. I can see the advantage if you spend more time at the resort but I don't so I would rather save the money.

DH will be more affected by it, since he'll have to work in the room a lot...
and my sister will join us for part of it...but she's happy as long as she has a lounge chair and a pool.....doesn't really matter to her what kind of pool, as long as it's wet....so that's fine....

Definitely bring your own LONG cable. I just stayed at All Star Sports and the internet connection was placed behind the night stand. With a very short cable supplied, there was not much room to work and I had to do it from the bed. It was very awkward.
