Could you give us a little overview on what to expect? We're thinking of attending but it's a 90 minute drive....do you think it's worth the commute?

I think the "full session" just means that you can't register for that one anymore. I tried to register for the "full" session Saturday at 1pm, but there is no button to click because it's all booked.

Great idea to wear something to identify us as DISers. Any suggestions?

Has anyone ever been to one of these events before? What is it like? Do you think it is going to be a giant "sales" event.

We are confirmed for Sunday at 4pm.

I will wear something that says Dis on it so people can identify me as a DISer.

Unfortunately I am on-call for that weekend, and likely working overnight anyways to do some system upgrades, so I won't be able to make it.

We went last night at 7:00p. :thumbsup2

So glad we did. It was fun. Long, but fun (3 hours total). No pressure whatsoever.

This was really an event to promote BLT.

We were DVC members before at Boardwalk for 6 years and sold a couple of years ago (due to finances and the rumors of BLT).

We bought 200 points at BLT last night. Couldn't resist the incentives. ($18 off) pro-rated dues, all points for 2009 and use year Feb....

Got some binoculars, luggage tags, Mickey ears, and portfolio notepads.

The party was really nice with desserts, drinks, a DJ and Mickey, Minnie, Alladin, Genie, Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother (whom I recognized from WDW).

Good time had by all, even my 9 and 13 year old. :goodvibes

We went at 4 yesterday. It was really fun and no pressure! The give-aways were fun even my DS-2 had a good time with the "wishmeister." We did want to take advantage of the offer but they needed $1,150 down and we just could not do that.

The high point was my DS dancing with Mickey and staring at Cinderella without knowing what to do!

We just got back and we had a good time!! We couldn't get my DD to leave the Kids Club (even for the dance party)

The incentives they were having were good, especially for new members. They were selling primarily BLT but we were able to add on to our existing membership at our home resort.

Disney does know how to put on a party, don't they?

However, most don't know the real reason why DVC put on the show. It was obvious when I realized that this was an "interactive" show. With the remote control that we were all given, you answered questions about yourself. When I saw the first question (Are you male or female?) I immediately knew the purpose of the show was research.

This is not to imply this is a bad thing. Not at all. We all had a great time. The discounts being offered on points add-ons was phenomenal. But all this could have been done without the Q&A.

Disney will have gathered an immense amount of data and will be able to better profile the typical DVC owner (or potential owner) after this event. This will enable DVC to better sell the product and that is in everyone's favor.

Kim was that you we sat behind? If so, sorry Otto was not the best behaved 2 year old, but he did enjoy himself.

It was a fun party. My son got to walk with Mickey from the theatre to the room where the party was held. He is still talking about it. The incentives were very good, but more points just aren't in the cards right now?

That was us!! Don't appologize for Otto, he was too cute and very well behaved for 2 year old!! I couldn't believe he knew all the words to the Mickey Mouse Club Song.

He loves the part where he gets to scream "Donald Duck" at the top of his lungs.

We were at the presentation yesterday at 1. For those of you wondering about the incentives that were offered, here they are. The incentives are all for Bay Lake Tower:

According to the presentation, right now at WDW, people are being offered a $5 per point credit, regardless of how many points you purchase at BLT. Last weekend only, at the presentation:

If you purchased 160 points you received a credit of $2,560
If you purchased 200 points you received a credit of $3,600
If you purchase 270 points you receive a credit of $5,400
If you purchase 320 points you receive a credit of $7,040
If you purchase 500 points you receive a credit of $12,000

They were asking for a $500 deposit to hold a these rates. If you wanted to finance your points rather than pay cash, financing was available for around 10%APR. When we asked why it was so high, the representative said it was because it was financed like a 2nd mortgage.
