both the other two trained it seemed the day they turned 3. except w/the occassional night wet; I know he'll get it--if he would just learn the urge before we would have it made
mom & dad have been to HI, AL, and the Panama Canal--they have been lots and lots of places I will never go--dad had a great job and they had owned a flower shop at one time. So, for now I will be happy with travels in the US. I want to start seeing things in the midwest and the west coast (yellowstone, grand canyon, OR, WA and CA). My parents are travelers although I think they have slowed down quite a bit since dad retired at 55 (now 62) he lives off his "package" and took a big hit last Dec along w/everyone else.
That was always our plan with my IRA's. I knew we could take everyone somewhere exciting for 10 years. So now it will only be for 5.

Glad you had a save trip to get LAcy.
I just caught up on the report. The family went to Hershey Park this past weekend to get the girls ready for the rides at Disney. They kept chickening out on going on some of the rides at Disney because of the big production Disney does before going on a ride. We got all of the girls on Super Dooper Looper and Lightening Racer. Now they will be ready for EE & RnR.
I also made my countdown calendar. It came out so cute.
OFF TOPIC:
So cool that you were at Hershey this weekend as I know that there was a group of DISers there having a meet.

Sorry I was MIA for all the conversations but
ASHTON turned "3" today; big boy on the way--if only we could use the potty on our own--we would really be on our way:rotfl2:
(but, we are down to one diaper, and maybe two pullups a day:thumbsup2--:yay:[/QUOTE]
I couldn't help but smile at you! I'm going to bank on the TN trip, also! If you guys have that much faith and if I keep on keeping on with it, then "HE" just may come through for me! I hope so.
I hope your baby had a wonderful birthday. I remember those "potty training" days. :scared: Not fun! Mitchell was 3 years and 5 months before we finally got it down. And he is so stubborn, it was a very difficult time for all of us, but we finally made it through. I wish you all the luck! :yay:

Hey, Lisa: how have those ghosts been behaving lately? I've been meaning to ask, but I keep forgetting.
And I was going to say, I need an attitude adjustment this morning. Rudeness is one of my biggest pet peeves in the world! I sit an office that has a half door at the end of a really long hallway. I'm not a receptionist and I am not "information", however I get interrupted 500 times a day by people who a) want to borrow change for the vending machine :headache: b) need to borrow a pen, paperclip, piece of paper, etc. :headache: c) need to use the telephone d) need directions.
I help however I can, but what irritates me more than anything is those who turn around and walk off w/out so much as "thank you". So, today that happened, and I sweetly said, "you're welcome!" just like I thought I heard them say it. I'm such a devil. She turned around and then told me thank you, but I hope she remembers that is the least she can do when someone goes out of their way to help her.
Ahhh. I feel better now! :goodvibes Thanks!

I did not get any mickey mail back in May so good for you that you have three to "try"and use; look at this way they sent you mine;)
Ginny: great news on the retirement--it will go by soooo fast
and an Alaskan cruise that is also on our list. I really need to make an official list so we (I) can start the planning. I, too, want to do DL I plan to do that one when we do HI. Plan to fly to CA than to HI; cheaper to fly from LA to CA than to HI than from LA to HI:confused3

Oh I'm definitely gonna give it the ole' college try! Like you said, Ginny, they won't shoot me 'cause then I won't be able to spend my money in Disney. I'd be spending it at the hospital.

I was super lucky with both of my kids. Lacey was potty trained by the time she was 2. Hunter was just a little over 2. But, they went to a daycare that was really good at working with them. They had a little lesson each day about potty training. It made it so much easier for me that the daycare workers actually cared enough to help the parents out. They could have just let them run around in diapers all day which would have been way easier on them than dealing with wet underwear.

Daycare was part of our problem. It's a smaller, home daycare with about twelve kids. I love, love, love our "Aunt Joan", but she did not potty train Mitchell. We had to do that at home and then at daycare he could wet his pants, they'd change him. Didn't matter to them. :sad2: So frustrating! But DH and I did it on our own and it was tough... Glad that's over with!

I talk to John every day at lunch and he always asks about the ghost(s) too. His brother who worked with John to fix some stuff around the office is scared to death that the ghosts are going to do something to me.
No more books have been taken from the shelf. But, like I said before, I don't think it's going to because the fussing attorneys have now settled their dispute.
The ghosts still are playing their little tricks here and there.....doors opening and no bells ringing, doors being locked, my boss's green pens are constantly coming up missing, I still smell cigarette smoke, etc. On the long drive to Lacey's house, John, Mama and I talked about the ghosts. We are convinced that they aren't bad ghosts or they'd have done something to me personally. I figure they're just wanting to play around with our minds.
Do not worry, whatsoever, about venting. I totally understand. I hate rude people and the line of business I am in has a whole heck of a lot of them.
Just imagine how "pleasant", and I use that term loosely, people are when they come in to talk about divorce, or their ex didn't pay his/her child support, or how are we going to split the holidays up, etc. etc. etc.
I once had a guy call ranting and raving about his baby's mama and how if she didn't quit calling him, he was going to just shoot her. I calmly said...."I hope you don't because we don't do criminal defense work." and promptly hung up on him. He called back and apologized.
The other day, I had a guy get a bad attitude with me and I told him, point blank, "I don't know if you have a problem with me or a problem with women in general but you need to know that if you are rude to me again, I will go into my boss's office and tell him so. After that, whenever I see your name come up on caller i.d., I won't answer it. So, you can either adjust your attitude or I'll quit answering your calls." He was always very polite to me from that point on.
I usually do like you did today....I MAKE them say something nice. But, you can only do that for so long before you have to tell them like it is. I am very thankful that my new boss doesn't take crap from anybody. He has a great reputation for what he does and says that if they are rude to him or to me, we don't need them.
Now that's the end of my vent.

I didn't mind that we got off topic at all. And, I've posted my "vent for the day" already. A long time ago, when we had several attorneys in our office (meaning we had several secretaries too), we had a "question of the day" that we all sat around and discussed during our morning break.
I guess all of us need a "vent for the day".:thumbsup2

I know! I am excited to be going back to "the World". I wish we could go to Disney more than once a year. In 2000, we went to Disney World three times. But, all three times, we stayed offsite and they were budget trips.

Thank goodness it was just the opposite for me. I think it helped that the daycare was large and we had known all of the workers since the kids were "bed babies". It's one of our church's missions and is attached to our church itself. They were just as proud of them potty training as we were. As a matter of fact, some of the workers that were there when Lacey was a baby kept Hunter when he was a baby. Then, Lacey babysat some of the workers kids or taught them in children's church.

I too had one before Sandi andI was going to Illinois for a week for a great-aunts birthday. The first time Don and I had been apart. We all know where that lead. Then I had another miscarriage before Sheri and at New Years we had gone to a party and came home really loaded (we were young, remember) and ended up sleeping on the floor. I don't know where the beds were. I always knew when I was pregnant cause I dreamed I killed my dad. Weird I know. But I had it only 4 times in my life. After I had the dream when I was pregant with Sheri I went to the Dr. the next week and sure enough. She was born the 2nd of Sept.
And you all wonder where I get these weird things. Wait till I tell you Porter Waggoner used to change my diapers. :confused3

Smart girl!:thumbsup2 Sometimes my boss can get a real attitude when it comes to taking care of his parents. Not a bad attitude.....a protective attitude. I had to take a firm hand to him sometimes.;)
By the way, remember how I had the Intercot people fussing at me. Well, I posted a note on my trip report over there saying I was sorry if I offended anybody. I have gotten nothing but nice responses back from my readers. As a matter of fact, I've had over 500 hits on the report since I posted my "apology". P.S. I'm sorry for anyone who has ever suffered miscarriage. I couldn't imagine how that must feel. I was so worried with Mitchell that I'd lose the pregnancy because I wanted it so much. Thank goodness that didn't happen! I would have been devastated if it had.

The Intercot boards don't get much action. Sometimes, I won't go over to other forums for days and the same questions are on the first page. And, it's not because others are posting on the thread. It's because no one is posting. It's kinda sad. I think that's why I try to post. I wanna get them out of their slump and see how the real Disworld is.

As much of a joker that I am I don't lie. Why would one lie about that? You can't make this stuff up.:rotfl2: He really did. He lived in West Plains and had a radio show at night. He and my dad were friends and my dad sold RC cola during the day and sang backup with him at gigs. So he babysat us in the day when Mom and Dad were both gone at the same time. I last saw him in 1973. We was at the county fair in West Plains. He gave my dad a big ole hug. Knew him right off. Said he didn't remember me so much:lmao: Guess I changed. When I first started working at a law office (I was just 17), my boss told me "Now honey, when people call here, they aren't going to be happy. You wouldn't be happy either if you had to call an attorney about a divorce or your parent dying. Your job is to try your best to make them happy." I took that to heart and find myself sometimes being a little overly pleasant. It takes a whole lot to tick me off. The way I figure it is this.....I don't let my own husband talk badly to me so I'll be danged if I let some stranger talk badly to me. Once they cop an attitude, I'll put up with it for a little while 'cause I know they are upset but when they get downright ugly, I ain't gonna take it. Oh and if they cuss, that's it.....next thing they'll hear is the phone hangin' up.

Signed autographs for the girls. He was very nice to all of us.
Phoeey! Now we can't do our little sing song: "Liar Liar Pants on Fire!":lmao:
Seriously, that's really cool.
Before Mickey Gilley, Jimmy Swaggert and Jerry Lee Lewis were big time, they would all get together and my daddy would sit around with them and listen to them sing. Who would have ever thunk (yes I meant to spell it that way) that some little bitty town in the backwoods of Louisiana would have produced some superstars.
It is hard and it sure tests your faith. But HE is good and gave me another chance. Sandi never got the chance but HE gave her Alex.
It sure does do some testing. John and I had just started trying to get pregnant when I had my miscarriage. I think it's a real plus that we were "young and semi-naive" (just 21) when the miscarriage occurred. It didn't make it easier to deal with. We just didn't think about the possibility of not being able to get pregnant again.

I know you mean singing artist but this is the closest thing I have. It is by William Hallmark and my old boss that retired gave it to me for Christmas. We had a really big print in our office and I loved it so. He told me to find it and buy it. I got a numbered and signed version. When we moved the green did not go in my new house so I brought it to work. It's the first thing I see everymorning.

Before I start on my next installment, Lacey asked if I had told ya'll about their Mission's website. I don't think I ever have. You really need to check it out. You can click on the Staff and Students link and see my Lacey bug! She's also on the snapshot real on the Video and Photo Gallery.
If you click on Video and Photo Gallery, please watch the second video that says "students perform live with Julian Drive". I gotta warn you, I cry every time I see it. You should see it it person, it's so awesome and moving. These are some of the paintings that the students do (they have several others). The guy that puts the blood on the hands, feet and head has cerebral palsy and a rare blood disorder and was a student of the mission for three years. He is also the founder of the baseball team for the mentally and physically handicapped. Lacey volunteers with the team members.
I have the pictures of her graduation on a c.d. I need to get them posted to Photobucket so I can share them with you.

I got one of the orange juice bars, John got a Mickey head bar and Hunter got the ice cream sandwich. When John started to take out his wallet, the sweet castmember said they were on the house for our anniversary and birthday. Another freebie!
Before I post these next two pictures, let me tell you a little story. Our first trip to Disney was when Lacey was 11. We were in the Magic Kingdom and kept seeing people walking around with the Mickey head ice cream bars. Lacey wanted one really badly so we found the first vendor selling ice cream. It was near the tea cups and our next destination was Mickey's Toontown (Hey that's my name!). We bought all of us some ice cream and moved down the trail a bit towards Toontown before we opened them up.
Lacey had just opened her's and wanted to have her picture taken in front of the Mickey's Towntown sign with her ice cream bar. I told her to stand there and take a bite of the ice cream. She took one bite and the whole thing fell off the stick and onto the hot pavement! Poor baby, she had waited all day for the ice cream and then dropped it all. Of course, we bought her another one but it's been a running joke in the family.
Now that I've given you this little McBride memory, I'll post the next two pictures. We took them to send to Lacey.

For those of you fussing at us right now for being cruel to Lacey, let me just say that Lacey laughed her butt off when she saw the pictures of her daddy acting like his ice cream was falling off the stick.
I laughed MY butt off reading and seeing this! :)
Because we've ridden it many times before, we know where the camera is and we try to act scared for the picture.
K and I tried that but we ended up just looking ridiculous! I should have bought it though.

It was really scary when she went away to missionary college and that was just with her staying in the United States. If she goes out of the country, I'll be a nervous wreck. Jesse met quite a few people when he was in India and became quite good friends with some of them. Not long after Jesse came back to Georgia, one of those friends' dad was killed because he had been associated with a Christian (Jesse and the other people on the mission trip). They, literally, set him on fire and he died. It took a long time for Jesse to get over it.

We usually look pretty ridiculous in the pictures too but as you can tell from some of the others we took (including the ones you just saw), we don't worry too much about looking ridiculous.

Warning, this part has no pictures.
I left off with us skipping out of the park and yes, you'll remember, we were, literally, skipping along. I know we looked like a whole lotta crazy but we didn't care.
We wandered over to the Rainforest Cafe for a little bit to look around. The place was absolutely packed with all of the guests leaving the Animal Kingdom for the day so we didn't stay long. I don't remember buying anything but knowing us, we probably bought some little something.
It was still raining a little but I decided to forego the poncho (I took it off when we went inside the store) so I could be like my two boys......wet. We walked to the CBR bus stop pretty quickly because even though we were wet, we didn't want to be soakingwet. I was happy to see that there weren't too many people in the CBR line which meant we'd get a seat on the bus. Lucky for us, the bus rolled up just about 5 minutes after we got in line. Thank goodness the ride from the Animal Kingdom to the CBR was quick because I was about to freeze to death. The combination of being wet and the air conditioning made me so cold. John and Hunter said I was being over dramatic because it wasn't that bad. If I had of had any sense, I would have sat at the very back of the bus where it's warmer. Live and learn. Live and learn.:sad2:
We got back to the CBR and were glad to see that it had stopped raining. We changed out of our wet clothes and walked down to Old Port Royale to get a little grub. I got the kids' spaghetti and breadsticks. John got some kind of rotissiere meat and veggies. Hunter got pizza....again. Oh, and John walked over to the grab n go and got a carrot cake, a cookie and a cheese and fruit platter. Everything was really good except for one of the cheeses. I don't know what kind it was but it was gross! It had the most foul taste you could ever imagine. I know it was supposed to taste that way but give me Velvetta any day over that nasty mess.:scared:
After eating our meal, we walked around the two stores a bit and then went outside. It was getting a little dark outside (not from rain, from the time it was) and we wanted to look and laze around the resort for a while. The Martinique beach had absolutely no one on it so we plopped down in the beach chairs and Hunter played in the sand. It was still wet but not too bad. I went back to the store and bought Hunter a sandpail and shovel so he could make some sand castles. I can't remember how much the sandpail was but I remember thinking that it was really cheap.
John thinks we are telling a tale that he fell asleep on the beach but he really did. With all the medicine he takes, if he gets still for a while and it's nice and cool out, he can be asleep in 2 seconds flat. Well, maybe more like 2 minutes but you get the idea.
I know we were on the beach for quite a while because the sun had set and we were able to see them light Spaceship Earth for the night. I woke John up. Oh, I'm sorry, John was awake...not. Anyway, I told John that Illuminations would be starting soon and I thought we might walk down to Old Port Royale and watch the fireworks from there. He thought that was a good idea too. We found a table outside Old Port Royale and I was surprised that there weren't more people around. Hum? Anyway, I went inside to get some snacks while we waited.
I came back with some fresh baked cookies, water and a Sprite and we waited for the fireworks to begin. We didn't have to wait long before we heard BOOM! and up went the fireworks. We could even faintly hear the fireworks. Let me correct myself, Hunter and I could faintly hear the fireworks. John couldn't hear them. You know....he's hard of hearing and all. Remember the "what, somebody kicked you in the goov" incident.:rolleyes1 We watched all of the higher fireworks and ate our snacks.
A little while after the fireworks were over, we walked back to our room, hand in hand....cheesy I know but we were....hand in hand, stretched all the way across the walkway. What a wonderful way to end a day at Disney. Now everybody say "AWWWW!"

OFF TOPIC:
So cool that you were at Hershey this weekend as I know that there was a group of DISers there having a meet.
My sister lives 30 minutes from the park, so they have season passes. It takes us about 90 minutes to get there and my parents about 45 minutes. It was nice that we were all able to meet up and go.
How did the other DISers like the park? I find it to be very hilly and it usually takes a couple of days for my calves to stop hurting.

Glad you've gotten all caught up. John was raised as a preacher's kid and hates the thought that people are looking at him. He says as a preacher's kid people are always watching you and waiting for you to screw up somehow. Anyway, he totally looses his inhibitions when he's at Disney. He's usually game for whatever when's at Disney World.

I'd love to leave close enough to a theme park...any theme park. The closest we have are about 4 hours away.
There is a theme park/water park in Hot Springs, Arkansas that is super hilly. I always leave out of the park complaining about all the hills.

I didn't either. They took out so much of the funny things. They even took out the "I gotta pee" out of the title.
I do get a lot of satisfaction out of the fact that I've gotten a lot of positive posts and a whole whole lotta hits on the report since I gave my "apology". As a matter of fact, I just had one poster say she was going to be in the World the same time as us and if she saw us she was going to stop and have her picture taken with us because we were "celebrities".:rotfl2:

I know I've already had my "vent of the day" but I figure since I started this thread, I can vent more than once a day.
You guys all know that I've been planning our August, 2009 trip since August, 2008. In February, I started making plans to have somebody stand in for me while I am gone on vacation. My boss and I have an attorney friend (We've both know her for years. She's my boss' best friend.) who said she had a friend (Mary) who really needed part time/fill in jobs since she had to quit her job at the District Attorney's office when she got sick last year. If Mary couldn't do it, we had a backup plan. We'd get Mandy (who filled in for me last year) to remain on standby just in case we needed her. Both ladies confirmed to our attorney friend that they would do it. I gave them exact dates and all the details of what they would have to do.
Well, today we get a call from our attorney friend who was seeking my boss' advise on a domestic matter. I mentioned how glad I was that Mary was going to stand in for me. Um......there's a problem......I've been meaning to call you for a couple of weeks.....Mary's going to be sitting with a friend who is having a hysterectomy (is that the right spelling?). Okay, I'll make sure Mandy knows. I call up attorney friend's secretary (Mandy's grandmother), and tell her that Mandy needs to plan on filling in. Um......there's a problem.....I've keep thinking I need to call you......Mandy can't fill in for you. Holy *** (Insert that s word I said I used every once in a while.)
Mind you, I have spoken with both attorney and/or attorney secretary no less than a dozen times in the last month. Why the heck didn't either one of them say something during one of those conversations?
Now I'm 13 days from leaving for vacation and I have to find somebody to fill in for me. It has to be somebody that one of us knows. We can't just trust all of our clients' confidential information to just anyone. Hecka decka!
I've got all of my "feelers" out. I am just about to burst with frustration!:scared1::mad::scared:
Okay vent over. But I'm still mad!

They had a great time but like you, think it's hilly. Some of them are still recovering. :)

Hey, just wanted you to know that I popped in on your thread with the pictures from 1973. It's closed for some reason, but I wanted to say those pics are Awesome! What a cool perspective to see then vs. now. I'm sure I have some from the 80's, but they are probably all polaroids and faded beyond recoginition. I'll have to ask my parents.
Do you have any more that you can post? I'm headed over to check out your TR.

Thanks guys! Right now, I am at the "my feelings are hurt" stage. I've known these two ladies for years and years. I know I've known the attorney for at least 14 years (we used to be in the same office and were even pregnant at the same time which strengthens the bond) and the secretary has been working for her for 8 years.
I'm just upset that they didn't call me sooner. I could have been looking for somebody else.
I'm still going on vacation regardless. If we have to call a temp service we will but we'll have to make sure it's somebody who has worked in a law office before and knows the importance of keeping their mouth closed outside the office. We have many clients who have come in to talk to us about their rights and their spouses have no clue. So, secrecy is important.

It'll all work out. I know it will. Sometimes my boss will give people credit on their bill if they bring him back some fresh produce or do something on the side for him (like yard work or something). There are some people who struggle to pay their bill and he'll make something up for them to do. I'm going to go through our client list today and see if there is somebody that could possibly fill in for me and get a large credit on their bill.

I know the feelings you are having and can certainly sympathize. No one wants to think of going to the happiest place on earth with work issues on their mind. Since I work in a small office too my bosses wife fills in when one of us is gone. I've done it by myself but I can't do my work for keeping the front desk going. I wish you well.:goodvibes

Thanks for the well wishes, Ginny.
In this office, it's just my boss and I. I am lucky that my boss used to do all of his work himself so I know he can get along without me. The only thing his lazy secretary before me did was go by the post office, answer the phones, occasionally type a letter and do billing. She didn't even do his copying for him. Now that I've come along, I do all the phones, type correspondence and pleadings, do billing, copying, etc. etc. He's become to depend on me a lot. I guess that's my own fault.;)
All the fill in has to do is go by the post office on the way in, answer the phones and maybe copy something for him. They will have it easy. I've just got to find somebody reliable.
Don't worry, once we hit the road for Disney, I won't be thinking about this place at all!

Movin' back on to the trip report and forgetting about my whining for the morning.
I was about to start our Magic Kingdom day when I found these two pictures on photobucket. After seeing them, I remembered that we did ride Goofy's Barnstormer three times, not two. The third time, John and I rode together and Hunter rode by himself.

Because we knew that the Magic Kingdom would be open until 2:00 a.m., we decided that we didn't have to make rope drop on our last Magic Kindgom day. That's funny 'cause we didn't make but one rope drop the entire trip so why should this day be any different. :lmao:
I got up about 9:00 a.m. and started our morning routine....I get up first, Hunter eats his fudge round, I poke and push at John for 30 minutes to wake him up....well, ya'll know the routine by now. Anyway, we are at the Martinique bus stop about 10:00 a.m. and at the Magic Kingdom in no time at all.
I don't have a whole lot of pictures of the first part of our Magic Kingdom day. I remember taking quite a few but I guess their amongst the other lost souls.
We decided to do Tomorrowland first and make our way around the park until we ended up at Adventureland. Again, we cut through the Tomorrowland Noodle Station and were at our first stop, The Laugh Floor. Didn't get chosen this time but it was still good. Next up was Buzz Lightyear. This time Hunter rode by himself and John and I rode together. I beat them both because I knew to aim for the targets the furthest away and you'd get more points.:thumbsup2
Wait a minute....back up.....before hitting Buzz Lightyear, I got Fastpasses for Space Mountain. I was surprised to see that the return time was only two hours away. Not too bad. We can find stuff to do for two hours. Okay, back to Buzz Lightyear. Did I tell ya'll that I beat John and Hunter?:rotfl: Oh yeah, I did, but it doesn't hurt to rub it in a little.:rolleyes1
Since we had time to kill, John and Hunter went on the Astro Orbitor. I hate that thing. You know I don't like heights. Remember the whole Virgin Mega Store incident. While they rode the Astro Orbitor, I bought a bag or chips and people watched. I love people watching. There are just so many different personalities, so many different cultures, so many different styles of dress, etc. etc. There are some really cool people and some really weird people. I know! I know! Who am I to be talking about "weird" people? We've got some weird ways too. But, I'm telling you the truth when I say there are some weird people who visit Disney.:rolleyes1
My boys found me sitting under the Astro Orbitor tower thing, people watching and eating chips and wanted to know if we had anything to drink. I hopped in line and got a couple frozen colas. We got on the conveyor belt thing-a-ma-jig and up we went to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Finally, a picture to post!
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1034-1.jpg
When we got back to the ride exit, we hadn't finished our drinks and asked the attendant if we could stay on for another ride. He said sure so we just stayed where we were. I don't know why we like the Transit Authority because there really isn't anything special about it. :confused3 But, we do and we're really bummed that it'll be closed when we go this year.
By this time we only had about 45 minutes until we could use our Fastpasses so we talked John into going on Stitch's Great Escape with us. I don't remember the wait time but it wasn't too long and that's the real way we were able to make John go in. Believe me, if John had to wait on Stitch, he would have said "no way". We had two ladies sitting behind us that were freaking out. When I say freaking out...I mean...freaking out! It made the ride so much more fun. They were screaming and giggling. They were shouting "Lord Jesus!" I wished so badly that I could have seen their faces. They were absolutely hilarious. All three of us were just cracking up over there antics. When the show was over and the lights came on, John turned around and asked them how they liked it. They were laughing and saying they had never been so scared in their life. We chatted with them all the way out of the show and even into the store. They were a hoot! What I wouldn't have given to have been in the show with them when it was still Alien Encounter.
Since we still had a little time left to kill, we looked around in the store and decided to walk over to the teacups to see if the line was very long. It wasn't and as a matter of fact, we only had to wait one cycle before we were able to get on. I had to give John and Hunter a serious talkin' to before we got on. I don't mind the spinning but I know them and they'd spin it until their arms fell off if I didn't tell them not to. They didn't spin it too fast and we all walked off the ride without being all goofy headed. (Well any more goofy headed than we were when we got on.:rotfl2:)
Our Fastpass return time was now up and we walked back over to Tomorrowland for our travel through space. We got the usual ugly looks from the people standing in the regular line. I can't believe that more people don't know how to use the Fastpass system. Guess they don't Dis. Of course, they put us in the left line again. I really want to ride the righthand track one day. But, I wasn't fussing because we virtually walked right on. I think we waited three cycles before we got on. Hunter got the front rocket with John and I right behind. Loved the ride as always and am sad it'll be closed this trip. Hopefully, the new version will be just as great if not better.
We were getting hungry after all the space travel and decided we'd eat at Pecos Bill's again since we wanted to go to Frontierland and get a Fastpass for Splash Mountain. The walk over was uneventful, thankfully. No scooters, no country bear claws, nothing! Well, I think I did get bumped by a stroller or two but that's the norm in Disney World. We took the route through Fantasyland and since it was super duper busy, we decided to save it for later in the evening.
****INTERRUPTION***** Got to set up a conference call. Be back in a bit.

Glad you've had a free minute to post. I know how Summers can be really hectic.
Our ghosts are still hangin' around the office. I figure they just like messin' with us. As long as the messin' is nice, I can handle them.
The "mission kids" as everybody calls them, are a fantastic group of kids. Each and every one of them offer something different and are super sweet and generous. Most of the kids had never even met us because we live so far away but when we pulled into the duplex they all live in, they were outside and cheered when they saw us. Sweeties!
I love the John Wayne story. Isn't it funny how one particular thing will stick out and it becomes a family story that's told over and over again.
We were once there during the Flower & Garden Festival and we were just blown away at this one particular flower/garden display. I mean there were flowers and topiaries everywhere. Then this little old lady pulls up on her scooter, looks at the display and yells "Those flowers stink!". It took a lot to keep us from laughing out loud. Now, every time we see a flower display at Disney, we say "those flowers stink".
Oh the TTA. How I miss thee so:love: I love that ride and it was sad this past trip that it wasn't there. Great update:goodvibes
I know! Often times, we stayed on the TTA over and over again just to rest our tired tootsies. Where? Oh Where? will we do that now?

When new people call from the small area I actually live in I always tell them I know who they are so they can choose if they want to come or not. I tell them after working for docs 37 years I can keep my mouth shut.:lmao:
I've found myself in that same situation. Sometimes people don't want anybody they know to know their business. I always tell them on the phone who I am so they won't be shocked when they come in.
I also find that it's kind of hard when you run into a client in town while you are with your family. You can't really ignore them but you also think, "Do I introduce them to my family or not?"

I know. I never say anything and if they say something I will respond. One lady is a secretary at the school and I never said anything but she went and told everyone that I was here so it's cool with her. Most of them admit to coming here cause the feel better. If Don is with me and we see someone he generally walks away so they don't feel he is invading on their privacy. I wish most of them would ignore me but nooooooooooo....... they love to talk.

My dad had taken them and they were on slides. THere weren't too many from MK, since that wasw the only park at the time. We hadalso gone to Cypress Gardens and Bush Gardens on that trip. I remember that the only ride at Bush Gardens at that time was a train ride and you could ride an elephant. I'll have to check with Dad to see if he has anymore.

Please vent. I hate when people wait to talmost the last minute to let you know that they can't do something for you that you have been counting on.

Tell me about it! We've been in the grocery store before and I'll turn around and start walking the other way. John will just look at me and ask "client?"
He knows the drill by now.

Why in the world these two "friends" didn't say something to either me or my boss, I don't know. That's what has upset me the most.

Lacey has a Facebook account. I have a My Space account that I have no idea how to use but Lacey did it for me about a year ago. I'll get her to set me up a Facebook account while she's home. That'll give her something else to do. Like she doesn't have anything to do already.
Last night, she spoke and did a lesson for our Crossroads college class at church. She said it went really well. I wouldn't know because she never lets us see what she does. The only time we have ever seen her perform was at the one thing the mission kids did in our hometown last year. She never lets us hear her sing, watch her dance, listen to her play the guitar, nothing. Says she gets embarassed. Doesn't make sense to me since she plays before thousands and thousands of people at a time but only when her mom and dad aren't in the crowd. She was even on a morning show on Atlanta television and played her guitar and sang. Did I get a copy? No!:confused3

I have an aquaintance in tv production. Get the date she was on and they will make a copy for you. If it was in the past year. You have an amazing daughter and what she has chosen for her life work is totally awesome. I know how proud you are and you should be. The not wanting you to see dates back to a young age when they don't want to "mess up" in front of you and get embarassed. They never out grow it.
Have her set up your FB. Sheri won't let her kids do Myspace but will FB so that is why I did FB. All of my cousins formed a Siegrist cousins account this year. What fun we have had.

It was some time between August last year and now. I'll have to see if I can weazle it out of her somehow.
She never took a dance lesson, music lesson or singing lesson in her entire life. She's self taught.
I guess, one day, I'll get to see her speak, sing, dance or play her guitar. :confused3

All of the men in John's family can play some kind of instrument with the exception of John. But, he's good with his hands and can make any kind of furniture or cabinet that you could ever want. John's sister sings as does John.
My mother can play the piano and so can most of my female first cousins. My sister writes books and can paint like a dream. My niece attends art school in Sarasota and has, at 22, already had some of her pieces commissioned and has traveled to France. Hunter can draw really well too.
Me? I can type really really fast. That's it!:rotfl2:

Hi Liz! Welcome to the trip report! You sound like me....when I start reading (or working on) a report, I find myself checking my emails more often or just minimizing the disboards so I can get back to them when I have a minute at work.
I appreciate your "wicked good story teller" comment. I've never been too shy to tell a story or too shy to talk to strangers. I'll tell anybody who will listen my Disney stories.:rolleyes1 The Disboards are an absolute dream for somebody like me....a talker!:lmao:

Hi I have been luking on this page for a while so I thought I would say hello
I have to tell you the right side of space mountain was the best. For some reason it did not jerk you around as much. Maybe with the renovations things will be better on both sides. I have just asked the cast member if I could go right and they always say sure. Maybe next time when it opens you'll get to ride on the right.
Looking forward to the rest of your TR:wizard:

I don't remember how I found out about aiming for the furthest targets on Buzz but it does seem to work. I think somebody even said the volcano gets lots and lots and lots of points.
The ladies behind us on Stitch were absolutely hilarious. I don't think I even paid attention to Stitch because we were too busy listening to those ladies.
We once rode Star Tours with a church group of preteen girls. They were also screaming and yelling "Jesus save us!". Funny!
Oh I know everything here are work is going to work out. I have no doubt. No matter what, we are leaving after work on the 5th!

Good morning all!
I'm going to try to get an installment up some time before Noon. You know I have to work on updates while at work 'cause I can never get anything done once I get home. Shouldn't it be the opposite? Oh well, that's the way it is.
We've started getting all the stuff ready for tomorrow's garage sale. We have a whole lotta junk but it's pretty much worthless junk. I want it all to sell so everything is being priced very low! I mean like so far I have had just one thing that I put $5.00 on and that was a huge Home Interior picture. The other stuff has had 10 cents, 25 cents, etc. slapped on it. Plus, here in Louisiana, I've found that people will not pay a "reasonable" price on stuff at a garage sale. They just won't. They virtually want it for free. I've even had people ask if I'd take 10 cents instead of 20 cents. :confused3 I always tell them "no" because I have it priced too cheap already. I'd rather donate it to Goodwill than haggle with people.
And, last night, Lacey told me that Jesse is coming to our house for a week starting sometime Saturday. I knew he was coming. I just didn't know when.
Believe me when I tell you my house is a total and complete disaster area. I have so much junk scattered around while getting ready for the garage sale.
A 2 liter Coke got dropped on the kitchen floor night before last and we wiped it up but apparently not good enough because now my floor has got sticky spots on it. And you know how when you walk in with dirt on the bottom of your shoes (no matter how little dirt it is), it sticks to those sticky places and makes dark spots on your floor. I said I'd clean it up really good after we finished walking back and forth setting up the garage sale stuff.
On top of that, John has been building a full set of kitchen cabinets and yesterday started the process of planing down some boards and sanding everything. That means sawdust gets tracked into the utility room even though he blows himself off with an airhose.
I also have suitcases strown all over my bedroom. When we got ready to go to Lacey's this past weekend, I took every piece of luggage out of the attic and threw them in our room so I wouldn't have to take them back out when we started getting ready to go to Florida. I know that we won't be using all those suitcases but I never know what ones I am going to use so I take them all out.
Poor Jesse is going to come to our house and think we are a bunch of hillbillies who never clean our house.
I think the first thing I'll do when I get off today, is at least mop the floors and straighten up as much as I can. At least that way, I can blame the other mess on the garage sale.
Okay, I'm shutting up now. I'll work on an trip report installment until the boss comes in. He likes to come in late on Fridays usually around 10:00 a.m. I always tell him why doesn't he stay home on the Fridays when he doesn't have appointments because we close at Noon anyway. Men!:sad2: Worse....men who are lawyers!:scared:

I hate it when my house is a mess. As a matter of fact, I am going straight home to clean when I get off work. I told Sheri the other night not to walk on my hardwood floors with her socks on or they would be dirty. She laughed but it was true. Have a great weekend and a good garage sale so Lacey can have spending money. I can't believe your time is coming so fast. I'll check facebook right now.

Sounds like you've got a busy weekend ahead of you! I love having yard sales, unfortunately I don't have enough to put out right now. DH is a pack rat and I am not, so anything that I want to get rid of, he wants to keep! Oh well!
I hope you have fun. I'm sure Jesse won't notice at all that your house is not "spotless". Most men don't. My neighbor will come over and I'll say "nevermind the mess" and he'll say, "I haven't noticed!". And he wasn't just being nice. He didn't even notice!
Well, have a good day and I'll be on the lookout for the udpate. Send us a PM with your FB link.

Where will you be staying when you go to Disney?
This is our 4th trip as a family. The very first time we stayed at Fort Wilderness. We went with my DMIL and DFIL so we stayed in there camper that time. Since then we have been going on our own, just me and my two boys (DH34 and DS9) :lmao: we have always stayed at POP. Just love it there. We have always requested the same room and have either gotten that room or the room right next door. :thumbsup2
In fact, last year we had the same mousekeeper that we had the year before. And she even remembered us! :thumbsup2 The year before my DS9 (7 years old then) would always color a picture and leave the tip on it. Well he didn't intend for her to take the tip, not the picture! So he would be a little upset every night when we would come back to the hotel and his picture was gone. :lmao:
Anyway, when we seen her last year she asked us if we were there the year before because she was certain that she was our mousekeeper. She said she recognized our son. And get this - she still had his pictures on her fridge!!! :thumbsup2 She is a lovely elderly lady who was originally from Mexico. She was great! She even knocked on our door to see when we were checking out because she had a couple days off and wanted to make some washcloth pals for our DS. We assured here we would be there when she returned. She left something for him everyday. And on my graduation day (We went to Disney for my M.S. graduation last year- instead of marching) she left me a Minnie Mouse head with beads and everything. :lovestruc
Maybe some day we'll grow up and move to a moderate or deluxe resort but for now, POP is our home because they just feel like family. :lovestruc

Since your staying at CBR - If your interested - when we went to Disney in '07 we went to CBR for my DS to do a pirate cruise. Well once he was done we buried something there. If your interested in finding it I can tell you where we buried it. :)
Some friends of ours were supposed to be staying there a month or two after our trip, so we buried something there for them to find, but they ended up changing resort  and stayed at Sarasota Springs. So as far as we know it's still there. :rotfl:

Back to the trip report......we walked over to Frontierland via Fantasyland because we were hungry and wanted to eat at Pecos Bill's. Before we stopped for lunch though, my mission was to get Fastpasses for Splash Mountain. I ducked over to the wooden walkway while John and Hunter waited for me outside of the shootin' gallery.
Just as I get the last Fastpass out of the machine, John calls me on my cell and asks where I am. I told him that I had just gotten the last Fastpass and asked him why? He said Hunter had gotten chosen to participate in the Woody's Roundup street show thing (I think that's what it is called.) and was riding a stick horse around in the crowds. Of course, I had the camera. I wanted to get some pictures and knew that I had to hotfoot it over there if I wanted to get them. But, first things first, I had to put away our park tickets and Fastpasses. Don't want to lose those!
I turn around to see massive crowds. Crap! There's probably no way to bust my way through and get to John and Hunter in time to see Hunter in the show. I wiggled my way through and back on to the wooden walkway and my phone rang. "Don't get in any hurry, they are finishing up." Shoot! I wanted to see. I spot John and he waves to me. I got there just as the show ended and Hunter was being given a hug by.....oh my gosh.....the horse.....what's his name.......I can't remember. Another picture taking opportunity missed. Phooey!
Hunter came out and asked if I saw him and I told him I didn't but his Dad did and told me all about it. Then, he proclaimed that he was about to pass out from hunger and we just had to go eat now. You know we never feed him, right.
We get in line at Pecos Bill's and it's not too terribly long but it wasn't short either. We did the usual routine....John and Hunter told me what they wanted...they went and found a table....John stayed at the table and Hunter came back to stay with me until he could show me the way back to the table. It's a pretty good system of "table holding". If I am remembering correctly....
****INTERRUPTION! Bullseye! That's the horse's name.
.....we all ordered burgers and Sprites. I don't know if I told you in the first Magic Kingdom day post but we love the fixin's bar at Pecos Bill's. The sauteed mushrooms and onions are so good. What I usually do is take our food to the table and then take the tray back to the fixin's bar with me. I line the tray with napkins and then put all of the fixin's on the tray. That way, we aren't going back and forth with all of our food. I can just take the tray back and we all add the stuff to our burgers. The mushrooms, sauteed onions and condiments go in the little cup things that they have near the mustard, mayo and ketchup.
I'm going to tell you what John does with all the leftover fixin's. It's really nasty but he likes it. Would he do this at home? Absolutely not! But, he does it every time he's at Disney. It's gross so be warned.
He saves a few fries and then dumps all of the leftover fixin's (tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce, etc.) into the fry tray. He mixes it all up and then drops on the mayo and mustard and mixes it all up again. It's totally disgusting to us but he says that it's about like eating a tossed salad. Hum? I don't think so!:sad2:
We took our time eating because we had almost three hours before we could use our Splash Mountain Fastpasses. After we had all eaten and John finished his whatever you want to call it, we walked over to Adventureland and took a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean and looked around in the store afterwards. Every year, we buy my mother some kind of small blown glass figure and the cart outside of Pirates of the Caribbean has really pretty ones. I found a cute little hummingbird and it wasn't too pricey either. The guy wrapped it really well for me and sent it to package pickup.
Because the parade would be starting soon, we figured we better get on the Splash Mountain/Big Thunder Mountain side of Frontierland before we got stuck on the Pecos Bill's side. We walked over to Big Thunder Mountain and it had a wait of 40 minutes. Oh well, we couldn't get another Fastpass for a while so we hopped in line. We really didn't wait an entire 40 minutes. I think it was more like 39! :rotfl: Seriously, we really did time it and it was 39.
We finally get to the part where you get on. Hunter wanted to ride by himself in a car while John and I rode together. Finally....pictures to post.

I tried to find the hidden Tinkerbell on the pathway exit but there were lots of people behind me and I couldn't stop. Don't those people know that I've gotta look for hidden characters? Apparently not!
By this time, it was getting pretty hot outside and, since we didn't have any dessert at Pecos Bill's we decided we needed some ice cream. I'm allergic to milk so I don't eat too much "real" ice cream. I get headaches and nosebleeds if I eat too many milk products. I usually get the frozen juice bars which I love anyway. This time around, I got a strawberry juice bar, John got an ice cream sandwich and Hunter got one too. Here's another "Ahhh, I dropped my ice cream" picture. It's not as good as John's was but nevertheless, we took it.

And then just one of Hunter chillin'

I looked over at the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad wait time and was glad that we had gotten in line when we did.

Remember I told you that Hunter wasn't a fan of Splash Mountain and we let him skip it on our first Magic Kingdom day? Well, it was now time to use our Fastpasses and he was really trying to talk his way out of riding it. But, he had promised that he would and John and I were making him stick to his promise. During this conversation, Hunter finally told us why he was scared of Splash Mountain. The first year he was tall enough to ride it, he sat with his daddy. Hunter now reveals that his daddy didn't hold him tight enough and he thought he was going to fall out of the log on the way down. Why didn't the boy tell us that before now? We have always made him ride Splash Mountain even though he didn't want to. I know. I know. Bad parents but I figured he'd like it once we got on and we only made him ride it once every trip.
So this time, I told Hunter he'd sit with me and I swore I'd keep my arm tight around him throughout the entire ride. I also made sure to point out all of the details along the ride....like the possums hanging from the tree, the turtles lying on their backs, etc. He liked the ride better but hated the last drop. He says he's going to ride again this year and that he'll probably like it. We'll see.
Oh and when did you start getting soaked on Splash Mountain? We used to get a little splash here and there and this time we got wet ! I know it was August and it was hot and all but I wasn't expecting to get really wet. Of course, after we got off the ride, we had to look around in the store a little while. Hunter declared that the ride made him thirsty so we got a Sprite from the store. All that air hitting his open mouth as he screamed probably dried his mouth out. That was mean wasn't it. Sorry!:flower3:
We made a pit stop in the bathrooms before we went to pick up our hitchhiker at the Haunted Mansion.
*****I'll stop here because I need to start working on the stuff on my desk. It's already 10:20 a.m. and all I've done is check my emails and answer the phones. :rolleyes1

:rotfl:
Liz
Oh my word! We'd love to find your buried treasure! P.M. me the information so we can look for it. Wouldn't this be a fun thing to start! It'd be like a "pay it forward" treasure hunt.

I am usually a pretty good housekeeper. My mama has an saying that there's "dirt" and then there's "dirty dirt". "Dirt" is the kind that's just been there a little while and you haven't had the time to clean up yet. "Dirty dirt" is the kind that's been there forever because you're too lazy to get off your butt and clean. Right now, the house falls in the "dirt" category.
I have the garage sale stuff priced sooooo low that even if we sold it all, we won't be making a whole bunch of money but that's okay.
I have people come over and say "your house is so clean". I'm thinking "what the heck does your house look like 'cause this ain't clean!" Jesse has lived with four other guys, in a two bedroom duplex, for three years now so I'm sure it won't look bad to him. It just does to me.
We live in a log home and for some reason, it seems to collect dust really badly. I think if I can get my floors clean and the house dusted, I'll feel better.

:lovestruc

Awww! How nice that the housekeeper remembered ya'll and she still had the picture. Isn't Disney magical?!?!

I'm trying to think of a really good thread title and the right way to do this. I'm thinking about going over to one of the old fridge swap thread and see exactly how they did that since the "pay it forward treasure" would work similarly. I also don't want anybody to get offended that we're digging around the Disney resort grounds.

You can tell my mind is moving a mile a minute today because I keep forgetting to tell ya'll things.
Hunter is such a funny guy. Last night, we had all of the garage sale stuff scattered all over the house, in the back of the truck and on the carport. Of course, there's a bunch of his old clothes, some of his old toys, a few of his plastic swords,VHS movies, etc.
Hunter stood in the middle of the carport and asked "What are you doing? Selling away my entire childhood?"
Poor baby! He has so much stuff still in his room, you can't walk but we're selling away his "entire childhood".:rotfl:

I cheated yesterday. A drug rep brought in cookies from a local bake shop. Chocolate chip and no bakes. I had one of each. I really don't think anyone is going to help me on my weight loss journey. I really don't help myself either. :rotfl:
I did get a new dishwasher last night. Remember mine broke last Thursday night. I have had to do dishes by hand since. I don't like it. Sheri says something smart to me like " Gee Mom, there are only the two of you," Let her wash a dish by hand and see how she feels. They are delivering it next Wednesday.

When my children were in their 20's I had a sale and sold this old ceramic ashtray on a stand (we don't smoke) that they used to run there hot wheels on when they were small and a picture of some flowers they bought for me years ago at wal mart. Comment: " you've sold our inheritance". I laughed so hard. I can't believe of all the stuff I sold those two items meant the most to them. Kids! Go figure.

Okay, Lisa, I'm caught up. I was 16 pages behind! Geez!
We've been back since Monday, but I had some other things I had to get caught up on too (I know, there's life outside the Dis? What a concept). And I had to make the Coaches' Gifts on Photoshop. All 6 of them.
My poor kids have been neglected this morning.
Have you found a definite replacement yet?
And WHAT did Ginny get for her birthday? Did I completely miss that somewhere. It was the day before and then....nothing. Someone fill me in.
Okay, I gotta go exercise and run to the bank. I'm hoping to get an update on my report sometime today, but who knows. We've got the All Star team party tonight and then apparently we're going camping for the weekend with friends. I haven't camped since before my kids were born. Thankfully the campground is about 1/2 a mile from my house. ;)

How cool for Hunter! :cool1:
I turn around to see massive crowds. Crap! There's probably no way to bust my way through and get to John and Hunter in time to see Hunter in the show. I wiggled my way through and back on to the wooden walkway and my phone rang. "Don't get in any hurry, they are finishing up." Shoot! I wanted to see. I spot John and he waves to me. I got there just as the show ended and Hunter was being given a hug by.....oh my gosh.....the horse.....what's his name.......I can't remember. Another picture taking opportunity missed. Phooey!
Aww, I'm sorry you weren't able to get there in time
.....we all ordered burgers and Sprites.
Hey, we did that too! Pecos Bill's is nummy!
Sorry, John, but

Since I am the official Fastpass getter I guess I am subject to missing those "spur of the moment" moments.
Used to at Pecos Bill's they had drink lids over on the napkin and utensil cabinet. Back then, I put the condiments on the lids and carried them on the tray. When they started putting the lids on the drinks before they gave them to you, I had to start using the napking lining.
Yucky smucky! John's "salad" looks soooo horrible. I don't know how that man's stomach can handle it. Blech!
I have a feeling that Hunter is going to be trying to act "tough" for his sister's sake this year. Hopefully, that'll carry over to Splash Moutain this trip. Last year was the first time we got soaked on Splash Mountain. It caught us by surprise.

That's alright. I think sometimes we all get to talking about other things and then forget to read the real trip report. We've all gotten to be friends here on the trip report threads and we sometimes get off track. I love it though 'cause we all seem to think alike.
We have to eat at Pecos Bill's at least once on every trip. The food there seems to be better than the other counter service. And, like I said, we love the fixin's bar.
I'm surprised that the picture of Hunter on Big Thunder Mountain even came out. I was holding the camera over my head and snapped it right as we were going down a hill.
Getting wet on a ride hasn't stopped us yet. With the exception of this past trip, I've always ridden Kali River Rapids and you know how wet you get on that!

I'm about to sign off for the evening. We worked all afternoon to get the garage sale stuff priced and set up. My niece came over mid-getting ready and asked if she could put all her stuff in the garage sale. Of course, I didn't say no. I just told her she had to price her stuff with her initials on it and she had to find a table since I didn't have another one. Oh, and she had to come and help Lacey work the garage sale.
I guess I'm a bad person because I complained about her wanting to put her stuff in. I didn't complain to her, just to John and my Mama. I stopped doing multiple family garage sales years ago because I hate keeping up with who's stuff just sold and at the end dividing up the money. It's just a pain in the buttocks!
While we were pricing stuff, Jesse called. Lacey came back and said she had a surprise. Jesse was about 4 hours from our house! What? He wasn't supposed to be here until tomorrow afternoon. Had I swept the floors yet? Had I dusted yet? Did I have food to fix for dinner? Heck no to all three. So, I sent Lacey into the house to clean her bathroom, sweep the floors and find the local pizza shop coupons I got a few days ago.
Wait, I forgot something. We didn't have but about half the stuff priced and out when a truck pulled up with customers. What the? The sale doesn't start until tomorrow. I hate it when people do that. :headache: We live on a private drive with only us and my Mama sharing the road. When the first customers left, she pulled her Jeep up the hill and blocked the driveway.
Then some of our friends from church called and they wanted to come see Lacey. We pulled the Jeep out of the way so they could come over. They ended up buying $30.00 worth of stuff. And, they threw in an extra $20.00 because they love Lacey. While they were here and the Jeep was moved, another car came. Ugh! Can't these people read the newspaper ad? :teacher: The sale starts tomorrow! I guess I can't complain too much though since we have already sold $70.00 and the sale hasn't even officially started.
Anyway, now that ya'll are all updated, I'm off to bed since I have to get early in the morning. The sale starts tomorrow:laughing: at 7:00 a.m. The Jeep will be blocking the driveway until 7:00 because I'm not going outside until then.

I am soooo behind. I am just starting page 65. i'll try to catch up in the next day or two...but no one post till then. LOL :rotfl2:
Ginny I may have missed it, but what did you end up doing for your birthday?
I have it all posted on my TR page 13 I think (with pictures) but last Thurs. evening Don told me I was not working on Friday and neither was he and we were going to breakfast on Friday morning. We started to turn in our local place and he says he is in the mood for blackberry pancakes so that means across town to Cracker Barrel. The lady seats us and Don says can we sit in back and Ms Grumpy says yes and carts us to the back room. Don steps around the corner and says "come here" and there sat my brother, sis in law, friend Cindy and her son Matt and Mike, Andrew and Austin. They had balloons and the whole works. I opened all my presents and then I get the one from Don and it is a trip for 4 (me, Don, Sheri and Mike) to Vegas leaving at 1:25 that afternoon. Sheri had to work that morning and could not do breakfast so she could get back in time to leave. OMG we had so much fun. They had booked this back in March. Those sweethearts. We came back on Sunday afternoon. I have had a week of birthdays cause tonite we went to the Springfield Cardinal game. I had bought a suite for 18 people at my Relay for Life auction and I surprised everyone with food, sodas and beer. There ended up being 15 of us there tonite. The game went to 12 innings and the Cards lost 12-10:sad2: But we had such fun. If you get a chance check out the pictures. Thanks for asking.

Thankfully the campground is about 1/2 a mile from my house. ;)
I have now read your whole TR. What a fun time you are going to have. Look at post 1153 on Lisa's TR and I told about my surprise in case you didn't have a chance to see my TR. Thanks for asking Heather.

I made Lacey come in and clean up the house while I was still sorting through the garage sale stuff. She did a pretty good job but not as good as if we had more time to clean.
I wanna come to your house and join in your party!

Hey everybody! Garage sale is over with and Lacey pocketed $263.70. My niece made $17.50 (she had her stuff priced waaay too high but wouldn't listen to us when we told her). Hunter made $11.00. We took all of the leftover stuff to Goodwill. Well, no we didn't, I packed up all of Hunter's clothes and am giving them to my two nephews.
I am pretty pleased with the sale. Especially when you factor in the fact that everything was priced super duper cheap. Almost everything we had was $1.00 and under. I had very few things that were over that.
Now everybody has spending money for Disney! That was our main goal. And it's a bonus that my attic and closets are now cleaned out.
I'm sitting in our bedroom right now and it looks like my closet has exploded! Hunter bunked on the floor in our room last night so Jesse could have his. Lacey, of course, slept in her room. I woke up this morning to find John and Hunter asleep on our bedroom floor. Whaaaat? They were on the floor watching television while "camping out" and fell asleep.
So, now our bedroom has blankets and pillows in the middle of the floor, suitcases piled in one corner, my Disney box in the other corner, garage sale stickers and empty boxes at the foot of the bed. Thus, the "explosion" look of our bedroom.
I've gotta get to work straightening this place up so that I can start organizing for our trip.
John announced last night that he doesn't like two pair of his shorts that he wore last year. They are now too short. I thought that 43 year old men had long since growing taller. And, you'll remember that he told me last weekend that he didn't like the two ringer tees I bought him. I guess we're going to have to make a trip to the mall. We're going to have to hustle if we want to have any time to look around since it's now 4:11 p.m., John is outside weedeating. Hunter is in the living room watching the end of Spiderman. Lacey and Jesse went out to eat with a gift card someone gave them for graduation. I am all sticky sweaty and my hair looks a hot mess since all I did was put on clothes, brush my teeth and put on a ballcap this morning.
I"ll sign off for now. Just wanted ya'll to know how the sale went.

I forgot to tell ya'll that I got ANOTHER set of Mickey mail. This time it included Lacey. So, I've got one with: 1) John, Lisa and Hunter at Pop Century; 2) John, Lisa and Hunter at Caribbean Beach Resort; and, 3) John, Lisa, Lacey and Hunter at Caribbean Beach Resort. Each have luggage tags and the vouchers. I am not trying to cheat Disney out of anything but I'm wondering if I'll be able to use all of the vouchers.
Yes you can. I know of others who have done it.

It's good to hear that somebody has been able to use more than one of the same vouchers. I'm going to definitely give it a try. I figure I've given Disney World, literally, tens of thousands of dollars over the last 13 (soon to be 14) trips so I'm not going to feel guilty if it works.;)

I told Dale I would get him some shorts for our trip, but he will not wear shorts when we go anywhere :sad2:. We ended up not going to the mall yesterday afternoon. I thought that Lacey and Jesse would NOT be gone every day at dinnertime. I usually buy groceries every Sunday after church. We were out of tea, milk, cereal, you know the stuff that you just gotta have. So, I went to Wal Mart instead of the mall.
Glad to hear the sale went well. Hope the mall trip was a success!!

I'm so glad that Ashton had a great party. I'd be perfectly happy with just three kids coming to a party. Lacey once had 54 kids shows up to her birthday party! Thank goodness I used to get paid to do kid's parties and was able to throw extra stuff together.
We hardly ever get down to South Louisiana. Heck, we hardly get anywhere other than work and WalMart.
What great success with your sale! Good luck shopping for your husband!
Thanks! We didn't make a whole lot of money at the garage sale but it was enough for the kids to have spending money.

Okay, an update, just not a trip report update. That'll probably come tomorrow when I am at work. :rotfl:
We were all really bad and slept in this morning. For some reason, all of our allergies have been acting up the last week. Hunter has been sneezing so much, his nose bled really bad a couple of days ago. John's eyes were itching and he rubbed them so much they were red. I had a really bad sinus headache. Lacey and Jesse just overslept. They went to church 45 minutes late. Oh well, we usually sing for at least 30 minutes and the church is really big so they probably slipped in without being noticed.
The children's church camp leader asked Lacey and Jesse if they could stay all week. Not just in the evenings. They also told them that the camp would be at Lake Bistineaux (spelling?) which is about 2 hours away. One way. There's no way they could drive 2 hours, do evening services and then drive 2 hours back home late at night. They also didn't want to stay all day long because that's cutting out the time that she would spend with her family. So, children's church camp is totally out.
John and I went to Old Navy and Target this afternoon. I don't know if I have told you or not but John would stay at home 24/7 if he could. He doesn't care anything about going to the store or the mall or anywhere. He also doesn't give a hoot about what he wears. He has some shirts and shorts that are so holey it's pitiful. He says they wear better because they are "broke in". He just doesn't care what anybody thinks so long as he's comfortable.
Anyway.....sorry......we didnt' find anything at Target but a little food processor/chopper for Lacey to take back to their duplex. I forgot, we did find Hunter a t-shirt.
Then, we headed over to Old Navy. John was so goofy. He asked if he could stay in the car. What? We're looking for you some shorts you nut job! We lucked out. Old Navy was having a buy one/get one half off sale. John got two pairs of khaki shorts. The first pair was $19.50 and the other one was half off. They are the exact same but you can wear anything with khakis which is always a plus. I also got Hunter three pairs of socks for just $3.99. And, I got two shirts for me. They aren't regular t-shirts, they are more fitted. I got a purple and a red. Both will match shorts I already have.
We have just about everything we need now. I may have a few odds and ends. There is one thing I know I need to do.......I know that most of you, if not all, are female so you'll know what I am about to say is true. I want to get some comfortable underwear. Who wants to ride in a car all day or walk through a park all day with uncomfortable underwear? "Not I" said this little piggie! Sorry if you think that's too much information to share but I now think of you all as my friends and friends talk about such things.
I'm off now to check my ebay. Sales have been slow lately. But, sales always slow down in the Summer.

John has several button up shirts but they all have some kind of pattern on them so he has to have some "plain" shorts. If it were up to him, he'd wear camoflague ones every day.

Your husband sounds like John. He has no problem whatsoever getting rid of my "junk" but doesn't want to turn loose of any of his.
Underwear is an important issue with me. If you're wearing the kind that "ride up" or have the really thick elastic on the legs, that can make for one heck of a long day when you are riding in a car for hours upon hours.

It was really busy. Since Lacey and Jesse have decided not to do children's church camp, I'm trying to come up with ideas of cheap stuff for them to do during the day. There really isn't much around here to do.
Friday night, when all the garage sale junk was shrown all over the carport, John and I looked at each other and said "where did all this come from?". Seriously, I don't know! We have a garage sale every year and I know I didn't accumulate all that stuff in just one year.
Yes, I know that the time for another trip is close. John has to finish a whole set up upper cabinets and get them installed before we leave. Looks like he's going to be working some late nights.

So happy to hear that your garage sale was so successful!!:thumbsup2 We have been gathering things around here all weekend, hoping to have one next weekend!!! Glad you guys did so well on the garage sale! I'd really like to have one to raise some Disney money, but like Ginny, we have to do it when the HOA says. They do it twice a year but I don't think the next one is until October or something. We did it last time and made $27. But we weren't really prepared. It was kind of last minute.
I'd REALLY like to have a scrapbook garage sale. I have so much stuff I want to get rid of that is hard to sell on ebay because it's 12x12. I did sell a few things on ebay before we went to World Series...and that was supposed to be spending money for me...but I had to use it to pay for the boys' Fall Baseball. So hopefully I'll get some from somewhere else.
Looking forward to the next update. You are making me so excited to go. And now I can finally really start concentrating on our trip. :)
P.S. I have classic Donald shirt in an XXL that I got off the DisneyStore site. Matt doesn't like it AT ALL. If you think John would wear it I will send it to you. It was too cheap to be worth sending back. I know XXL might be too big for him, but you said he likes his shirts big. Just LMK.

I'm glad to hear that the boys are willing to give up some of their toys. Hunter was just the opposite. We originally though we would do the garage sale when Lacey came home in May. I started cleaning out closets and the attic way back in April. We have a store building which we call the "junkhouse". It houses all kinds of junk....camping supplies, some holiday decorations, lawn chairs...thus the name "junkhouse'. That's where all the garage sale stuff was stored. Something came up and we couldn't do the sale in May. So, I kept on cleaning out closets and cabinets and drawers. You couldn't even walk in the junkhouse.
Sorry, I got a little away from the original thought process. Anyway, we cleaned out Hunter's room way back in April. The stuff had been stored in the junkhouse for three months and Hunter never even missed his stuff until we pulled it out to sell it. That's when he asked if we were "selling his entire childhood".
We live on three acres at the end of a subdivision. You have to drive through the subdivision to get to our acreage. The minute we put our garage sale sign up, two other families started pulling out stuff to sale so they could have a spur-of-the-moment garage sale using MY ad I placed in the paper. It never fails when I have a garage sale that they do that. Kind of ticks me off because they get free advertising. They know the garage sale people have to pass by their house first in order to get to my house. Oh well, nothin' I can do about it.
Man, I could have sworn I posted last night, but apparently not. :confused3

Let me tell you about a little thing my sisters and I did several years ago. We had a Christmas Open House (in October) craft sale at my house. It was a perfect setting....log house....big Christmas trees.....Christmas music playing. We had tons of homemade goodies for sale. Maybe that's something ya'll could do and you could sale your scrapbooking stuff. People are always wanting to do cheap scrapbooking especially around the holidays.
Right now, my ebay sales are slim to none. I have always found that during the Summer time, sales are slow. They'll pick up again when the weather starts getting cooler and people are sitting in front of their computers more.
I think a 2X would be too big for John. I wonder if Dana's husband Dale could wear it? Dana! Where are you?

I'm about to try to type another Magic Kingdom update but I wanted to tell ya'll something first. I am a bit put off by some of the posters on Intercot. As you'll remember, I've had some really nice comments made about my trip report. Rave reviews even. I have had one lady say she'll be there the same time and if she spots me she's going to stop and have her picture made with me because I am a celebrity. :rotfl2:
Anyway, a few days ago, I posted that I apologized for not posting an update yet but we had some shopping to do for John. He needed new shorts. And, some smart *** asked if John would be wearing jorts again. And then somebody posted "that's hilarious". Then the original poster came back and made another comment about jorts. Now, I know that jean shorts aren't the most fashionable thing for men to wear. But, the ones that John did have on were not the old timey cut off jean shorts or the really tight jean shorts. They were the cargo type jean shorts. Needless to say, I was pissed. I almost posted "Didn't your mama ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." But I didn't. I posted something funny instead.
Maybe I took it the wrong way?:confused3 Ya'll know that I have no problem whatsoever with people laughing at the things we do, the things we have happen to us or the things that we say. But I don't like being made fun of. They can kiss my Louisiana butt as far as I am concerned.
The only reason I am finishing up my report over there is because I have too many nice readers on Intercot.

There's nothing wrong with a guy wearing jean shorts so long as they aren't too short. I never noticed his shorts anyways. Again, somenone needs to get a life! I dislike Intercot. :sad2:

I never did like those Intercot people. I just got Don to wear kahki shorts a couple of years ago. Worse yet he went to Bass Pro and got those thin water repellent kind so he wouldn't stay so wet. He always used to wear the denim ones. So I guess they can be rednecks together.:woohoo:

Let's see, Hunter has danced in the roundup with a horse named Bullseye (see I remembered this time), we ate some yummy food at Pecos Bills', we had a blast on Big Thunder Mountain, missed seeing the hidden Tinkerbell because of crowds, got wet on Splash Mountain, played like we dropped our ice cream....whew! Now we're off to visit the 999 Haunted Mansion ghosts.

I took these pictures of the tombstones because at Halloween we like to decorate our yard. So far, we have two headstones already with Haunted Mansion "sayings". I wanted to see what these said we we could make a couple of new ones.

We go into the stretch room and they made us fill in "all the dead space".:rotfl: There were several older teenager couples who were beside us. John noticed they had "first visit" pins on so we told them about looking up when the lights go out. I remember the first few times we rode Haunted Mansion, I didn't know to look up to see the hanging Master Gracey above our heads. Of course, when the lights went out, they looked up and the girls screamed bloody murder. I didn't mean to scare them. I just wanted them to look up and see!:scared1:
You all know that I can't stand the whole "push your way in the line" and the whole "feel like a bunch of herded cows" part that's required to get on the ride. There has got to be a better way for Disney to handle the exiting the stretch room part. We always get squooshed.
Well, this time, I got squooshed and right behind a sweaty stinky lady in front of me. I'm sorry but don't people know that they smell? I can smell her! John can smell her! Hunter is holding his nose! Can't she smell herself? Wear deodorant people! I pack a stick of deodorant in the backpack so I can do a little touch up in the middle of the day. My makeup is worn off, my hair is sticking up but my underarms are all fresh and clean!:rolleyes1 Thankfully, when we get a little further into the herd, the stinky lady falls behind to torment somebody else's nose behind us.:yay:
The teenager group happened to end up ahead of us and we chatted with them until it was time to get on. It was so fun to hear them scream in certain parts. They weren't the obnoxious loud teenagers that make an attraction a living heck for others. They were just having a good time and it was fun to hear them. When we got off, they got on the conveyor belt thingie and talked with us a little more. They asked where was the best spot to get a good burger and we highly recommended Pecos Bills. They thanked us and we wished each other a good evening. I like those kind of good teenagers. They seem so hard to find now-a-days.:confused3
Up next on our list of things to see and do was Fantasyland. But, a little peek around the corner told us it was still too busy. Since the Magic Kingdom would be open until 2:00 a.m., we weren't in much of a hurry. It was decided that we'd go back over to Adventureland for a little while.
****Okay, I'm going to stop here. My boss still has a client with him and they need to hurry up and leave so we can go to lunch. My tummy is rumbling!

Thanks ya'll! I was just so mad. I would never point out a specifici person in a post and say something about them. NEVER! That's just outright mean. I don't do mean.
Now, as you'll see when you read my latest update. I did say that the lady in front of me was in dire need of a shower and some deodorant but she is a totally anonymous person. She is not someone that is posting here on the boards (at least I guess not). I didn't post her picture so I could make fun of her. She remains a totally unknown person. Nobody will ever know who she is.
On to the issue of jean shorts. I have a lot of them. I personally like jean shorts because you can put anything on with them, just like a pair of blue jeans. You're going to see me with jean shorts on in my next trip report. Just a warning!:lmao:

The only reason John didn't want more jean shorts this year is because we are going to table service restaurants nearly every night and he wants to wear something a little nicer than jeans. He also has a whole lotta jean shorts and didn't need anymore. Thus, we bought khakis.
I guess we're just too far behind on fashion trends to know any better.

There is no excuse for smelly people. Alex might have said something. When we went on our cruise four years ago (he was 6). We got in a packed elevator and the first words out of his mouth were "ok, who farted?" We all could have died. Sandi immediately turned every shade of red and we were laughing so hard we almost forgot to apologize for his words. He did get a talk when we got out which was the very next floor by the way. I don't know if we ever saw those people again. If we did they never said anything. It was mean but funny.
I love HM as does everyone in my family. We hoot and hollar all the way thru the thing. We love it when it is new people on as Tim and Alex. All I can say is it is a good thing they don't scare easily.

I didn't know to look up when the lights went out!!! How come I never knew this before? Well, now I HAVE to go back next year so that I can look up on HM. DH, you'll have to cruise alone! :rotfl: You learn something new every day...
Eww to the stinky lady. There was a woman I used to work with who passed away several years ago, she said "if you have smelled yourself, then someone else has already smelled you." I try to keep that in mind and I, like you, LIsa, keep deoderant with me every where I go! I have one in my car (not this time of year, though, it melts!), one in my desk drawer, one in my purse. I can look like crap at Disney, too (and I have), but I sure won't smell like it! :rotfl2:
Ginny: That is hilarious about Alex calling out the "pooter" in the elevator! :lmao: Too funny!
Mitchell did something similar when he was three on the bus at Disney. For some reason, Mitchell loves to look at women with pretty hair. He always has. If I fix my hair, he never fails to tell me that he thinks "I'm beautiful". Aww! Even when he was three, he was this way. Well in 2008, we sat behind an older lady who had curly hair which was sprayed flat to her head. We were directly behind her and Mitchell piped up, "Momma, I DON'T LIKE HER HAIR!" The lady never turned around, but several other people turned to look. I thought I was going to die. I whispered in his ear that wasn't a nice thing to say and he told me again that "her hair isn't nice. I don't like it!"
I smile looking back on that, but I was embarrassed at the time. Children are so honest, aren't they?

You'll be shown in a "stretch room". Go all the way back in and fill in the "dead space". Sorry, had to say it.;) Anyway, once you are in the room, the room will start stretching. Make sure you look at all the different pictures hanging on the wall. Then, lightning will strike and the lights will go out. Look straight above your head. You'll see Master Gracey "hanging around".

Children can be honest to a fault sometimes. I can certainly sympathize with you on the kid remarks. By the way, I had to giggle a little at the "I don't like her hair!" remark.
When Hunter was little, real little, hardly talking little, we were in WalMart and couldn't find something. An employee came up to us and asked if he could help us. He had dark orange dreadlocks. I really didn't know they were out of style either. I knew that men weren't supposed to wear the mid-thigh shorts, ala Clark Griswold, but I didn't know that jean shorts were totally out of style. Yeah, I think so, too!
I wouldn't have, either!
BTW, I love the reference to Clark Griswald! I just adore those National Lampoon Vacations.
Oh my goodness! All of the "Vacation" movies are our favorites. Love 'em
Sorry; I'm slow to respond today...trying to do several things today...I sent you an invite on facebook:thumbsup2 join us!!
STILL working with Ashton to potty train...trying to let him tell me when he has to go:headache:NOT WORKING...we are now past two pull ups, three pairs of training pants and shorts and we are now wearing a pair of big boy underpants --my sofa and carpet are going to "STINK" -- do I hear carpet and furniture shampooer for the weekend:scared1:
He does not know when the urge is there...if I take him every 30-45 min it's all great...trying to get him to notice the urge
and finally since it is raining and I do not have any children today (except my baby, of course) I am trying to catch up on Villianess' TR; great writing and I have had to fight back the tears (happy tears) several times...it's almost like I was on mian street with her and her little ones...;)
I'm soooo glad that we are done with those potty training years. Even though both my kids were easy to train, I don't wanna go through that again!
Ok, so I go to the grocery store to get me some lunch and miss half of what is going on in this world. 1. Jean shorts are in 2. HM rocks 3. Vacation movies are the best cause we live that life everyday. When I was sitting at the Keno bar in Vegas I was waiting for some old man to give me his ticket. Didn't happen. 4. Don't make fun of people directly. Be discreet 5. Be kind to your fellow man. Paybacks are h---.
I know what you mean. I feel the same way. Sometimes the Dis move faster than I can keep up.
1) I think they are still in too; 2) HM does rock; 3) I can't believe some guy who looks like Sid Caeser (spelling) didn't whisper in your ear, keel over and drop his ticket for you to pick up; 4) Always be discreet when talking about somebody; 5) Paybacks are always h---!

No, Clark, er I mean Don informed me I couldn't hit him over the head either. Sheri and I tried to win every car at every casino we could. We were ready to drive them home. She wanted the classic charger and I wanted the new vette.:rotfl:
What wouldn't we all give to be Mr. Papagorgio and drive away from Vegas with four cars!
That is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think I like the older ones better, though. Remember the one where they took the Aunt and she had her dog? He peed on the sandwiches and Clark ate it? That's one of my faves and the one where they went to Paris, I believe it was.
The first Vacation movie was television last night. Holiday roooaaad! Holiday roooaaad! Aunt Edna such a funny lady! Remember when she walked out of the house with a walker and then just threw it to the side and started walking normally. :rotfl2:
The other movie you are talking about is European Vacation. We have that on VHS tape but I can't let Hunter watch it because they show a girl's ****ies. Yes, he knows what ****ies are but I don't him to see bare naked ones! We just have to watch it when it comes on television so they cut that part out. That's also the one where they are on the train and they all get mad at each other and start doing things to irritate each other. Too funny.

I have been threatened more than once to either get tied to the bumper like the dog or put on the top of the car for the trip. Geesh I love road trips. That one, the Christmas one and the Vegas are my favs.
I almost threatened my mother with a "bumper tying" when we drove through Atlanta! She kept making this little "whoop whoop!" sound as I was driving 82 on the Atlanta loop. The speed limit was 60 and I was going 82 and people were passing me like I was sitting still. I swear if I had heard one more "whoop whoop" I would have pulled over and strapped her to the top! Not really! I love my mama too much. I'd probably just pulled out the duct tape and taped her mouth shut.

Now, I know that jean shorts aren't the most fashionable thing for men to wear. But, the ones that John did have on were not the old timey cut off jean shorts or the really tight jean shorts. They were the cargo type jean shorts.
I thought I recognized John running around town last week... You mean, this isn't his picture?!? :rotfl2:

John thinks screws and duct tape are the best inventions ever! I have a cousin who once duct taped his child into his car seat because he kept climbing out. Before he duct taped him in, they got pulled over because their kid was waving to the policeman out the back window and they didn't know he was on his knees not strapped in. The cop let them off but with a stern warning. After two more times of him getting out, my cousin pulled over, got the duct tape out of the trunk and duct taped his son in. I have to tell ya'll that he didn't stick it to his skin anywhere, just on his belly and his chest. He didn't make him stay that was but for about 20 miles and then asked his son if he was going to climb out again. When the answer was a loud No!, he took the tape off. No more climbing out of the carseat.

As ya'll know......oops pardon my manners.....Good morning everybody!
As ya'll know, I've been trying to finish up my trip report over on the Intercot board too. It's much easier than the ones on here because I, basically, just copy and paste my Dis trip report over on the Intercot. I still have to find the picture links on Photobucket though. Can't copy and paste those. Anyway, last night I did an update over there and it hit me......not only do I have to still do the rest of our Magic Kingdom day, but I have to post our half day at Hollywood Studios which was our last day at Disney World.
Hecka decka! I gotta get moving.

Ummm, if I am remembering correctly, we had just left the Haunted Mansion where I got a great big whiff of a stinky woman in front of me, met a great group of teenagers and were on our way to Fantasyland when we saw huge crowds still.
It was just beginning to get little dusky outside and I love that time of day at Disney. There is nothing like Disney World at nighttime. It's magical without the lights but even more magical when everything is lit up.
We turned back around and went over to Adventureland to see how long the wait was for the Enchanted Tiki Room and Aladdin. We saw that the birds outside the Tiki room were just finishing up their "fuss" with one another and they were opening the doors so we hopped in line and watched the show again. Yes, John nodded off to sleep again. I don't think he's ever watched an entire show. He always falls asleep.
After Iago screamed for us to get out, we saw that Aladdin's Magic Carpets only had a 15 minute wait and we decided to go ahead and take a spin. Hunter rode in front and John and I rode in back. We were soaring high on our carpet and that's when John spotted her...you know....her.....Pocahontas. And, from what we could see, it was the same girl as before. Immediately, John said, when we get off, go to your left. Don't go right or she'll see me. It was so funny. He was acting like a fugitive running from the law.:sad2:
When the ride stops, John is off that carpet, out the exit and going left before Hunter and I had gotten out of the carpet good. Again, you'll remember that this is the guy that walks slow as a turtle.:rotfl:
Since we were going left anyway, we walked over to the Pirates of the Caribbean and were pleased to see that there was only a 5 minute wait. We seem to always luck up when it comes to the wait time for the Pirates. Here are a couple of more pictures I took.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1127-1.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1126-1.jpg
As I am sure you have already guess it, we did some shopping in the store. Hunter bought one of the little metal guns. He is a gun fanatic and it was cheap. My kinda toy! For those of you worrying about Hunter being a gun fanatic, we had "the talk". No, not about the birds and the bees, about how some Mama and Daddys would be really worried about their kids wanting every kind of air/toy gun imaginable. Hunter just looked at me and said "What? I wouldn't be stupid enough to go blow up a whole bunch of people with a gun. I'd be put in reform school." That's my boy!;)
John had me go see if Pocahontas was still on duty and she wasn't there so I called him on his phone and told him the coast was clear. He met me at the store near Aladdin's Magic Carpets and we looked around in that store as well as the other ones near it. We walked by the treehouse and where they sell Dole Whips. Aaahhh! The smell of pineapple is wonderful.:cloud9:
It had been quite a while since we ate and Hunter said he was getting hungry again. Since we had to go over to Fantasyland anyway, we thought we'd eat at Pinocchio's Village Haus again. Yes, counter service food again. I have never ever been so tired of eating counter service food in my life! But, you will recall that this was a budget trip since we had already spent most of our Summer vacation money on the earlier road trip.
We left Adventureland and walked over the bridge connecting it to Liberty Square and made our way to Fantasyland.
We were pleasantly surprised to see that the Fantasyland crowds had thinned out a great deal. We opened the door to Pinocchio's and there weren't too many people in there either. Sweet! I know that Hunter ordered a pizza but I can't remember what John and I got. Hum?:confused3 Anyway, while eating, we decided to see how long the wait for Peter Pan was first and then do It's A Small World, Mickey's Philarmagic, Snow White and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Dinner done, hands sanitized, we headed off to see what kind of time we were looking at for Peter Pan. 45 minutes. Oh well, we hopped in line and waited and waited and waited.
We finally got up to the front of the line and Hunter announced he wanted to ride alone which meant John and I would ride together. I tried to take pictures but they didn't turn out so good. Here are a couple:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1120-1.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1121-1.jpg
Before we went over to It's A Small World, we all made a pit stop at the bathroom near Peter Pan. There must be a lot of people who don't know about this bathroom because there's hardly ever a wait. And, you know how sometimes, I really need to go right away! :lmao: Actually, it was just once but I thought I'd remind ya'll about my Epcot day.
Anyway, we were all ready to ride It's A Small World and, again, we lucked up. We walked right on down the ramp and waited about 5 minutes before we were sailing in our boat. I know I took pictures because I specifically remember taking one of the hidden Mickey leaves in the jungle/hippo/monkey section. Lost pictures again.

Speaking of you having to "go" right away!!! LOL! :rotfl2: I just remembered something that happened to me a few years back! We were in Epcot, right near Canada, and I had to "go" really bad all of a sudden. So I headed to the closest bathroom. It was on of those bathrooms that just had one stall. You know what kind I mean? Anyway. So I'm in there all by myself. I was wearing a skirt that day. You know how when you are wearing a skirt and instead of pulling it down you just pull it up to your waist? (Are you picturing this?!!) Well, that is what I did and started to "go". I thought to myself, why do I not hear "it" hitting the water in the bowl? Well, I look down and notice that I totally forgot to pull down my underwear!!!! :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: I was in such a hurry to "go" before I wet myself and that is what I did anyway!! Needless to say, I had to ditch the underwear & head straight back to the hotel!!! My family still talks about this!!!

Yes, it was quite funny!!! It happened in 2002 and I have yet to live it down! LOL!
Thank you! I know our lives are definitely in for a BIG change!!! LOL! We are planning on going to WDW in May 2011, our baby will be about 16 months old then. We can't wait! People think we are crazy for taking a child that young, but we don't care!!! As long as we are in the World!!!!
Our son, Hunter, was just 12 months old on his first trip to Disney. He loved watching all of the lights, seeing the characters, the parades, just about everything! He even took his first five consecutive steps in the Magic Kingdom. I certainly don't think you are crazy. But, take that as you will, because you know I'm the lady that super glued on a tooth, almost peed on myself, been mauled by a long finger nailed lady, etc. etc. etc.:rotfl2:

I certainly don't mean to be cruel or anything but OMG that is about the funniest thing I have ever heard. There is not a smilie on this board that shows how hard I laughed. Our patients in the waiting room heard as did Christine. I only hope the good Doc didn't. He would have buzzed me and told me to keep the levity down to a roar.

BTW. Congrats on your little one. Do you need a grandmother?

I think she didn't mind us laughing about her story. Or she wouldn't have posted it. Heck, she probably figured she'd fit right in with this unruly crowd. If I am remember correctly, these are a few subjects that have been broached by us: 1) Almost peeing on one's self; 2) getting pregnant while hung over; 3) someone grabbing Pocahonta's butt; 4) needing new traveling underwear; 5) and let's not forget super gluing in a tooth. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I forgot to mention that John and my mother travel with a clean set of underwear in their vehicles. Their quote: "You just never know when you might need 'em."

I am really anxious to ride Pirates!! We had to skip in on our trip and I am sooo excited to try again:banana: And I know what you mean about that bathroom. My DH found it and he said we needed to make a mental note about it b.c it was completely empty! Thats so good considering you usually have to wait a long time before you can get into Peter Pan:laughing:

Your child will not be too young to go. My son was 23 months old and he still has memories of his first trip. As a matter of fact, his love for all things Disney started right then and there.
It will be a trip you'll never forget! Besides, your little one will be able to do quite a lot!

Lisa: You mentioned traveling underwear again. I saw that Hanes commercial again last night and thought of you! that's pretty bad when I see and underwear commercial and think, "Hmm, I wonder if Lisa could use a pair of those!" :rotfl2:
