We saw Mike & Sully's Laugh show last summer. My DDs really got a kick out of it. I bet it is very hard to understand some of the accents that people speak in when they are questioning the audiance.
I had a thought - maybe the ghost in your office is one of the hitch-hikers from the Haunted Mansion .
check out the water in the toliet; especially on an upper floor;
hold on to something I promise you'll get dizzy:rotfl:
told you I was from New Orleans area...;)
I had a ghost attached to me for years (I still think it was my husband's deceased best friend:angel:) we had a 6 ft silk tree that was always moving or falling after his death, not to mention the shadows:scared:
My husband and I were talking about my office ghosts last night and I think we have a theory why we are seeing more "activity" lately. To the right side of our building, an addition to the hotel was built over a 100 years ago. My boss's family sold that portion of the building many moons ago and it stood empty for years and years. Renovations on that section are supposed to start soon and workmen have been coming in and out looking at what all needs to be done. (I know what's going on because I've talked to the lady who now owns that portion.) We think that the ghosts that were over in that section are now coming over to our section because they are p.o.'d that their stomping grounds are being renovated. Just a thought.:confused3

We saw the Laugh Floor show for the first time this past April. So fun! Jonah texted in a joke, but it wasn't picked. So cool that Hunter's was! :thumbsup2
That ghost stuff is way creepy! You are braver than I am!

Tell Jonah to keep trying. His joke may just get picked next time.
Oh by the way, I asked Hunter what the joke was that he texted to Mike. "Why did the tomato blush and turn red? Because he saw the salad dressing!"
I think I'm going to be okay with these ghostly things going on around here as long as I don't get touched or pushed or something of that sort.

Nice MK start!! I never made it to MK opening, maybe next year...... And maybe not, we're more night people!!!
We LOVED Monster's Inc laugh floor, we're doing that again next year for sure!! They kept picking on this older guy, at first he looked confused (which was the funniest part) but then by the end the guy was laughing too. It was hysterical!!!!! Sam who's 5 didn't get all of the jokes, and was not happy with that, she said "That wasn't funny" She's just fresh though, this show was GREAT!!!!

You know, we're really not park commando type people but we do like to get the park early and stay there really late. But, we do take our time eating lunch, take a break mid-afternoon and people watch and then sit down for a meal at dinnertime. We once stayed in the Magic Kingdom until 2:00 in the morning! So much fun.
Too bad Sam didn't get the jokes at the Laugh Floor. It'll come with time!

Welcome aboard! I love new readers. Just wait until I start my trip report from our August, 2009 trip. It'll probably have more details because I'm going to take notes this time. And, it helps when I look at pictures to know what we did and where we were. With my some of my pictures from this trip, it's hard to remember.
The office ghost(s) haven't started to creep me out too bad. Like I said before, when it/they start bumping into me or pushing me or something of that sort, then I'll be creeped out!
Yes, Hunter is a real hoot! He's like his daddy....he can come up with a quick response/joke about anything. Me? I find myself two days after a conversation going....."Man, I wish I had of said so-and-so. That would have been so funny."
I can't wait for Lacey to come along with us this trip. She is a lot like John and Hunter. I know I am going to be in stitches all the time.

I'm waiting on Fed Ex to deliver a package so I've got just a few minutes to post another installment. It'll be another short one....sorry!
After The Laugh Floor, we wanted to ride one of our favorites...Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. But first, the Fastpass getter (me) had to run over to Space Mountain and get a Fastpass. I met my guys back at Buzz Lightyear.
This is another one of those rides where we have to split up because we are a family of three. I rode by myself this go round. Here's a few pictures of my guys with their laser guns.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0680-1.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0682-1.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0683-2.jpg
When we exited the ride, Stitch was doing a meet and greet so Hunter hopped in line. I gotta tell you, John absolutely can not stand Stitch. I don't know why but he doesn't so he sat over to the side while we stood in line.
Instead of having the characters sign an autograph book, Hunter decided to have them sign his hat instead:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0689.jpg
Stitch signed the hat and then put it on is head:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0690.jpg
Smile boys:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0691-2.jpg
Since we had just seen Stitch in person, Hunter wanted to go to Stitch's Great Escape. I told you John can't stand Stitch so we practically had to drag him over to the attraction. The wait was just 15 minutes. Stitch burped in our face, whispered in our ears and jumped on our shoulders and while Hunter and I thought it was cute, John couldn't wait to get out of there. I really really don't know what it is about Stitch (not just the attraction but the character himself) that John despises so.:confused3
Anyway, we had time to kill before we could use our Fastpasses for Space Mountain so we shopped a bit. Here's a couple "never would I buy this" hat pictures:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0696.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0695.jpg
Then, we moved on to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. There's just something about this ride that we like. It really doesn't take you anywhere. It really doesn't do anything. It just is. And, we like it. Still needing to waste about fifteen minutes, we asked the castmember if we could stay on and he said sure. Two rounds later, it was about time to use our Space Mountain Fastpasses so we got off and went on over to Space Mountain baby!
I looked at the standby time and the wait was 60 minutes! Glad I got the Fastpasses. Of course, as to be expected, we got the evil eye from the standby people. Hey, wise up and use Fastpass!
I've always heard that the two Space Mountain tracks are different but I guess I'll never know because each and every time I have been on Space Mountain, we get pointed to the left side. One day, I'm going to protest and make them let me over on the right side.
After our zippy ride through outer space, Hunter asked if he could play in the arcade for a little while.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0693.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0694-1.jpg
While he played a few games, I walked around and found a neat metal tag maker. You know like dog tags, luggage tags, etc. For $10.00, I made Oddball the cutest dog collar tag. It is shaped like a bone and, on one side it's blue and has Pluto with a bone in his mouth and on the other side, we put Oddball's name, address and phone number. Well, our phone number.:rotfl: That was Oddball's souvenier. Just a note, it has held up really well too. It's been almost a year since we put it on his collar and the only place the blue has come off it a little bit around the edge. Worth the $10.00.
Oh well, Fed Ex just delivered the package so I'll have to come back in a little bit.

Up next, John's "encounter" with a Hover Round.

I have noticed that you either love or hate stitch. My mom absolutely can't stand Stitch. She never wants to wait to see him or anything. She refuses to go to the Ohana Breakfast because they are there now. But we love stitch so I understand.
I am glad the tag held up for you. We might have to do that for Alana our dog.
Great update.

There's just something about Stitch. You either love him or hate him and John is in the later category.
You really do need to get a tag for Alana. They are really cute and hold up really well. I'm thinking of making on for our backpack tag which will, of course, hang right next to my lime green Mickey head.;)

Whew! I rushed right over finally & read through your entire TR in record time! Now I'm trying to catch my breath from laughing so much! :rotfl2: A couple of co-workers looked at me like I was nuts when they looked in to see me snickering at my computer.
I love your TR so far! The surprise for Hunter, the gotta go, gotta go moments, the lost & recovered tooth! Sounds like great times that make for truly memorable trips. :thumbsup2
I can't see your pictures from my work computer, though, so I'll have to log on at home soon to truly appreciate your TR. I really have to see that sneaky squirrel!
I gotta say, I totally agree with John about Stitch! I can't stand him! I avoid all things involving Stitch. The funny thing is I've had this aversion since before the movie first came out. Not that I went to see it, mind you!:lmao: Something about that ugly little alien in the previews turned me so off I can't bring myself to watch him. Who knows why? :confused3 So, I totally get John's feelings.

You definitely need to check out the pictures. Like I posted before, lots of them were lost but I was glad to at least have some of them recovered. The squirrel was truly a sneaky little booger. He knew just what he was doing.
I am not one of those folks who just goes ga-ga over Stitch but I like him. John hates him. Lacey couldn't care less.

Congratulations! I'm hoping to have our September trip paid off at the end of the month. We'll see. Stuff keeps coming up. Will has to have a cavity filled on Monday and that's $100 we weren't planning on! :sad2: We'll figure it out, though.
I am so sad that Space Mountain is going to be closed when we're there (good thing you rode it last time, huh?) The only good thing about it is that it's one less ride I have to worry about Christian complaining about missing (now I think he'll only miss Expedition Everest-which he is going to be  about-and Rock N Rollercoaster-which the bigger boys might not go on either).

Girl, I know what you're talking about when unexcepted expenses come up. For instance, John's truck battery bit the dust last week. $129.00 later it's up and running again. Can you be $129.00 for a battery?!?

I'm going to see if I can get a short little update in here before I have to get back to work. When we left Space Mountain, John and Hunter wanted to ride Astro Orbitor which I don't like because of the whole heights thing. I get all weird feeling when I get up high so I'm sitting this one out.
So, while they wait in line for Astro Orbitor, I walk around and take some pictures. Which were, of course, lost! I tell you I am getting super p.o.'d just thinking about it so I'll move on.
Anyway, they ride Astro Orbitor and we decide to walk over to Pinocchio's Village Haus and get some of those famous Figaro Fries.
We were right around the Tomorrowland Speedway and there were lots of people standing in line to drive the cars. We saw a rather large lady in a Hover Round/scooter thing in ahead of us start backing up and we moved over and went around her. We don't know exactly how it happened but somehow, she put it in drive again and bumped into the back of John's leg. When he turned to see what happened, she ran over his foot! That probably wouldn't have been so bad but she stopped! On his foot! With not so much as a sorry, she cursed, and then sped off. It was a drive by scooter accident!!!!! She fled the scene of the crime!!!!!
John hobbled over to a bench and pulled off his sock and tennis shoe. The whole top of his foot was red but his little toe was really red and was smooshed. :scared1: I went into Cosmic Ray's, stood in line and got a cup of ice. When I told them what it was for, the castmember asked if we needed medical attention and I told them no. When I got back, I put some of the ice in a handy ziplock bag (gotta love the fact that I take them into the parks every day) and he put it on his foot.
After icing his foot a while, John decided that we'd go ahead and make our way over to Pinocchio's Village Haus.
On the way, we spotted this wild animal cage and had to take a picture. Look, John didn't cut off our heads! Thank goodness for digital cameras where he can actually see what the picture will look like before snapping the picture.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0697-1.jpg
I gotta tell you, I wasn't impressed with the Figaro Fries all that much. They came with just cheese sauce and bacon. I read later on the Disboard that we could have asked for lettuce and tomato. Oh well, live and learn. Hunter ordered the pizza and I think I remember John ordering an Italian sandwich. The castmember saw our birthday and anniversary buttons and gave us all free desserts. Sorry, no pictures. We were able to find a nice little table upstairs outside all by ourselves. We could see almost all of Fantasyland from our table. As soon as we left, a castmember came out and roped off the balcony.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0699-1.jpg
While we ate, we chatted about where we should go next. We decided we'd finish up Fantasyland and then go over to Toontown. I can not find the pictures I took on Snow White but I'll find them on photobucket and come back and post them. (Right now, I am trying to leave you guys with something before we head out for Hot Springs, Arkansas to camp.)
We were able to see and do everything in Fantasyland with the exception of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh with very little wait. Well, Peter Pan's Flight had a 35 minute wait but that's not too bad for Peter Pan. Next on the list was Mickey's Toontown (my namesake). Our first stop? The characters. John's foot was hurting him so he decided to skip the characters (and standing in line) this go round.
First up was Donald Duck.

Pose boys!
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0705-1.jpg
And then Donald had everybody sing Happy Birthday to Hunter:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0703-1.jpg
Next in the cast of characters was silly old Pluto:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0706.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0707.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0708.jpg
And last but certainly not least was Goofy!
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0709.jpg
We left the room and when we got into the hallway, Hunter was super stoked that everybody had sung Happy Birthday to him. He could hardly wait to go tell his Dad.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0711-2.jpg
We found John right away. He was sitting on one of the benches beside the line for the characters and I could tell that he was fighting back the sleepies.;) He made a big deal out of the birthday sing-a-long and told Hunter, "let's go buy something to celebrate". Cotton candy for each of us!
And off we hobbled to our next attraction!
****For those of you wondering why we wore our anniversary buttons and birthday button throughout the trip, the castmember at Guest Services told us to wear them every day. So, we did!

How the heck did I get 5 pages behind. WOW! Great updates.
I hear that all the time about the scooter people. They run people over all the time and never apoligize, or they are tooting there horn so they can get around you. Well if I could go faster I would, so I sure as heck am not going to let someone else in front of me to make me take longer to get there. LOL!

Oh, I forgot to mention that, while I was in the bathroom trying to reattach my temporary, the automatic toilet flushed two times. I got a little sprinkling of water on my tushy but I didn't care 'cause I had my grin back.
I'm obviously not done catching up yet but I just had to tell you I almost peed my pants on this, AFTER reading your hilarious explanation of losing the temp.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Loved your detailed CBR resort info! Totally agree that you get two vacations in one, that's what we LOVE about CBR. We tried POFQ last year and maybe because we're from NOLA we were very disappointed in it, nothing magical for us.:guilty:

Hey everybody! We just got back from our tent camping trip. The temperature on Friday afternoon was 95 degrees. Yesterday, it was 97. Today, it was 98 when we left Hot Springs, Arkansas. We got home and it was a HOT 100 degrees. We had a great time fishing and doing a whole lot of nothing.
I hope to get another installment up tomorrow.

glad ya'll had a relaxing weekend; Hammond has been the hottest in the state throughout the entire week (go figure???) w/ the heat index we have been hitting 106. You would think New Orleans or Baton Rouge would be the hottest w/little trees, bldgs, and car traffic; and we can't go swimming for another week/two w/Ashton...Danny had let the pool go for a while with everything going...he started it back up this weekend can't wait...
The segway accident--that is probably why they banned them from the parks (I think I read that somewhere); I read somewhere that handicap group has a lawsuit for people that have their own and want to use them instead of wheelchairs
can't wait for your next installment...;)

Great updates, I'm all caught up!
I don't mind Stitch, but I can't stand SGE. Neither can my DH or the E's. We were there when it "previewed" in 2004 and thought it was the worst thing ever. Go figure. We've been shocked it's survived.
I know what you mean about paying off the trip, especially when it includes DDP, it is the BEST feeling!

I didn't know TTA would be closed too! Though I guess that makes sense with the way it runs through SM. Man, now I'm bummed! I love TTA!
Oh, well. What can you do, right? Guess that means we'll have to plan another trip....
Darn.
Yep, I guess we'll just have to go back next year and check out the "new" Space Mountain and TTA. Aww, I'm so sad.;););)
Congrats on paying off your August trip. I know that feels good!!!!

LOL!
I'm loving the ghosts updates too. I love to read this stuff, but if it happened to me I would freak out most likely. LOL! :scared1:
The scooter incident really made us mad. We haven't run into too many inconsiderate scooter drivers over the years but this lady took the cake! All she had to do was say I'm sorry. I mean, she had plenty of time while she was just sitting on his foot!
I'm obviously not done catching up yet but I just had to tell you I almost peed my pants on this, AFTER reading your hilarious explanation of losing the temp.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm sure with you being from Louisiana, you are like us.....we like our fish coated in corn meal and fried with crispies on the fillets. These were deep fried all right but it was in a batter (which we knew it would be ahead of time and we have eaten fish and chips elsewhere) and it was mushy and greasy.
We love the CBR. Over the weekend, we talked about seeing if we could move our buy 4/get 3 reservation over to the CBR because we love it so much. (We decided to just stay with Pop and use the money to do Disney "extras".)
I've looked at the Port Orleans resorts and I just can't get excited about them. Like you said, I guess being from Louisiana, it's not that exciting to us because the theming is so similar to what we have at home.
Nice little update, the pictures with Donald Duck are too cute!!!!
Thanks, I am hoping to get more posted today.

This is the first year that we haven't had a pool. For years and years, we had a big above ground pool but last year, the liner got a tear in it and we didn't buy a new one because we thought we'd get an even bigger pool this year. Well, it's June and we haven't gotten one yet. Hunter is having fits to go swimming.
The drive-by runover wasn't with a segway, it was with a scooter.

John was pretty ticked off that she didn't say sorry or anything. It's like she thought it was all John's fault that she ran over him.
My mother told me that I needed to borrow my brother-in-law's night vision camera. It's for watching deer and other animals at night so they know where they are feeding. I am seriously thinking about it.

and ALL of them act like it's your fault that you are in their way!! "Like don't you see me on this motorized contraption that I can't seem to steer, go forward, or backward"
We are thinking the same w/the pool; it is getting old and it is just too much work. I wanted to post this separately so it didn't get lost in the mix of my replies.
When I came into my office today there was a lawbook on the floor. I think the ghost moved it there and I'll tell you why I think that.
Let me see if I can describe the whole scenario so it makes sense. There's a lot of details that I've got to tell you in order for the whole thing to make sense. It's creepy!!!!! Read everything!
Backstory:
For years, my boss, a/k/a Atty. #1, owned an office building (not this one) with three other attorneys. Two were on one side of the building and my boss and another guy were on the other side of the building. (it was divided into two suites)
Back in 1998, one of the attorneys, a/k/a disbarred Atty. #2, (the one on our side) got disbarred for bribing a witness in a criminal defense case. He could still ran a loan closing business (with one of the attorneys on the other side) which was okay since that's not done strictly by attorneys.
Because he was an old friend of my boss, he stuck by him and believed him when he said he didn't do anything wrong.
Around Christmas, 2008, one of the other attorneys, a/k/a Atty. #3 (on the other side and who was in the loan closing business) started drinking really bad and got two DWI's within two months. He was also arrested for domestic abuse. So, the Bar Association said, you either go to an addiction facility or we take your license away to practice law. He went into a facility for three months in January, 2009.
***I swear all this matters.....hang with me.
Disbarred Atty. #2 and Atty. #3, owned the loan closing business together. Atty. #1 and the other building owner, a/k/a Atty. #4, had nothing whatsoever to do with disbarred Atty. #2 and Atty. #3 except owning the building together.
Disbarred Atty. #2 has a secretary who wouldn't come in until 10:30 a.m. even though we opened at 8:30 a.m., would either come back late from lunch or would sleep during the lunch hour and not wake up when lunch was over, would leave early and had the most gosh awful potty mouth. When I say potty mouth, I mean dirty dirty words. When my boss complained to disbarred Atty. #2, he wouldn't do a thing about her. (I was having to pick up the telephone answering slack which we stopped doing later on.) They had a few minor fusses about the secretary but nothing major because I simply stopped answering her lines.
Everything was going along as usual until Atty. #3 went into rehab. During the time he was in rehab, disbarred Atty. #2 was still doing loan closings which was a big no-no since there was no licensed attorney in the loan closing office at the time. Remember....Atty. #3 was in rehab. Anyway, we kept hearing some things that I can not disclose but they weren't good things.
****Stick with me, I'm almost to the good stuff.:surfweb:
So, without telling anybody anything, we picked up our office late one Friday night, moved it into our new office and never looked back. And, my boss filed a suit against the other building owners asking that the Court make the others buy out Atty. #1. In the paperwork, Atty. #1 had to state that he left the building because there were activities going on in the building in which he didn't want to be associated with. He didn't go into specifics so that it wouldn't be public record. Stupid head disbarred Atty. #2, filed papers saying he wanted specifics. So, now all of the gory details are out there in the public record for everybody to see.
Under the ethical rules of the Bar, Atty. #1 and Atty. #4 could get in big time trouble if they didn't tell the Bar all about disbarred Atty. #2's activities. They had no choice but to do so.
You can well imagine all the trash talking that is coming from disbarred Atty. #2 now.
I know that you guys are probably thinking "why in the world was he (my boss) associated with those guys?" Believe me, he didn't know any of the shady things that were going on until right before we left. Neither did Atty. #4. Let's just say that disbarred Atty. #2 and Atty. #3 were very crafty.
*****Now, let's get to the present:
We have floor to ceiling (the ceilings are at least 12 foot high) bookshelves in our new office building and they have old lawbooks on them. (They are dusty from being in here forever which is probably why I have sinus headaches all the time.;)) Anyway, when I came into my office, I noticed one of the lawbooks lying on the floor. At first, I thought that maybe it had been knocked off the shelf accidentally because we have a train track about a block and a half from our building and maybe the vibration knocked it off. I just picked it up and put it back on the shelf.
But, then I started thinking about it. Especially, after the train came by and I didn't feel a thing. Just heard the whistle blowing.
The book wasn't sideways. It wasn't knocked open.
It was lying perfectly on the floor. It was closed. Just lying on the floor in front of the bookshelf.
If it had been knocked off accidentally, you'd have thought it would have been knocked asckew with pages open or at least the cover open. Especially since it was 5 shelves up from the bottom so it would have had a pretty good fall.
So, I am telling one of our friends who stopped by and while we were talking, I told her about the book. She asked me if I looked in the book. I said no, I just put it back. She said if you ever find a book on the floor, it means that the ghosts wants you to read what's in the book. I just said okay next time I'll look.
Well, curiosity got the better of me and I pulled the book off the shelf. You know what it was about? You will never believe! Defamation-Attorney's Character The subtitle? "Dishonesty or unethical conduct". I read a little and the cases were very very similar to what is going on. I swear I almost dropped the book on the floor!
Maybe the ghost did want me to read the book.
See, I told you the backstory would make the present story make sense!
Is that creepy or what???????!!!!!!!

I wish that there was some way I could go back and see a log or check-in book of who stayed in the hotel all those years ago. Maybe that would give me some clues. Perhaps check and see if any deaths occured in the hotel (your office). I think that might me a matter of public record.
And I think you really should send an email to Ghost Hunters! Get them in there!
I'm happy to hear the camping went well. We are thinking of going this weekend but I need somewhere with a cold swimming hole to take care of this Texas heat! DH keeps telling me this weather is training for August!:rotfl:

I'm definitely gonna do some more checking into this place. There are several places here in town that they say are haunted. One is a museum and one is a castle. The other day, some construction workers found an underground tunnel which they believe was used by awoman and a man (to whom she was definitely not married) to carry on their clandestine meetings.
Yeah, it was really really hot this weekend. Definitely not the best of times to go tent camping but we are trying to think of things to do on weekends to pass the time until our August trip to WDW.

I :lmao: at the "drive-by scooter" comment! TOO FUNNY! That stinks about John's foot, though. I'm glad it wasn't injured too badly.
Glad you had fun camping. We are tent campers too! We go at least twice during the summer...once for a 10-day trip and once for a long weekend. I love camping in the tent! I grew up going camping in a pop-up so I wasn't sure how I'd like the tent, but I really enjoy it! I hate fish though....so no fishing and grilling for me! The boys do on occasion, but that's totally their thing! I stay out of it! :)

I meant to bring my camera to work with me today and totally forgot. Our door (the one with the bells) keeps opening by itself and I want you all to see the bells I am talking about. You can just barely touch the door and those darn bells clang. But when it opens by itself, they don't.

I am thinking about starting a pre-trip report where I can tell you guys all about my plans and keep you updated on the ghost stories.

My boss has depositions this afternoon and, once again, I've put most of my work back his desk. The ball is in his court on those things. But, I've got to finish billing. Have I said already that I hate billing? Even if I have, it's worth saying again.

When I left off, John was ready to hobble over to our next attraction which was Goofy's Barnstormer. This is one of Hunter's favorites. John complains that this ride kills his back. I guess because he is 6'1", he's crammed in and his back is pushed against the hard plane.:confused3 Anyway, we rode it once and Hunter begs his Daddy to ride again. So, of course, his Daddy gives in and they ride it again. When they get ready to get off, the bar thing won't come up and the castmember tells them to just stay in and ride again. Bonus!
After three zippy rides, we decided to take the train over to Frontierland to save John some walking on his still throbbing toe. And, it was nice to have a semi-cool breeze hitting our face since it was pretty hot.
Now this is where my memory gets a little fuzzy on the order in which we saw things. I know that we rode Big Thunder Mountain and skipped Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain is not one of Hunter's favorites so we skipped it this day with Hunter's promise that we'd ride it on our second Magic Kingdom day.
I do believe that's when we headed over to Country Bear Jamboree. Of course, there had to be a mishap.
As you all know, the seating in the theater is just long benches and you are supposed to "move all the way down....move all the way down....fill up all empty spaces". (you know the castmembers' spiel) Well, we did and we're seated approximately half way down the bench when this lady with super long fingernails (you'll understand why I noticed in just a minute) comes "excuse me-ing" all the way down the row. When she gets to John, she trips over his foot (which I don't see how she did it because he was guarding his feet/sore toe underneath the bench) and falls right onto my legs. She, literally, claws into my leg to keep from falling flat on her face. I help her up and she continues her way down the row. My leg is hurting pretty bad from just her falling on it and I look down and I am bleeding. Yes, bleeding. :scared: Her fingernails had made three approximately 3 inch long scrapes on my leg.
I'm not a germaphobe but I really don't like someone's claw marks on my leg especially when they are deep enough to draw blood. The show was starting and I wasn't about to go "excusing me-ing" down the row like my falling friend did. With my luck, I'd fall on somebody's lap too. John always carries a bandana in his pocket so we wet it with the water in our water bottle and wiped off the marks. I really wanted to clean the germs off the scrapes so I took out the hand sanitizer that I had in the backback. Holy bejeezers, it stung!!!! Wounds all cleaned up, we sat back and watched the show.

Once the show was over, we got outside and got a good look at the scratches on my leg. We decided I needed to go wash them off really well so off to the bathroom I went while John and Hunter waited on me to get back. Since I had no alcohol to put on the scrapes, I put hand sanitizer on them again. Holy bejeezers again!
I've got more to post but I've got to get a few things ready for clients to come by and pick up so I'll stop here. Be back later this evening.

I'm not a germaphobe but I really don't like someone's claw marks on my leg especially when they are deep enough to draw blood. The show was starting and I wasn't about to go "excusing me-ing" down the row like my falling friend did. With my luck, I'd fall on somebody's lap too. Ouchers is right. We use that sanitizer all the time at work because we don't have running water in our office and any paper cut will set you in to outer space with that stuff. We did not catch that show this time and seeing your pictures makes me wish we had. It will be in my next plan.

Aw, Lisa! Fingernails and three inch bleeding scrapes on your legs. Yep, hand sanitizer would have been my first thought, also. I've used it before, and you're right, it burns like (you know what!). Guess you need to start carrying your Triple Antibiotic Ointment with you, as well.
It seems to me that with every good thing that has happened on this trip so far, there's something bad to go along with it!!! I hope Hunter came away unscathed...
BTW, I love Country Bear Jamboree!!!! My son was so cute when we saw it in March, clapping and stamping his feet to the music. I can't wait to see it again. I've seen from the front and and all the way in the last row. Good both ways! :thumbsup2

The first time, I didn't think about it burning but the second time I knew it was gonna hurt.
You have got to ride Splash Mountain. It's so much more than the final drop. The animatronics are fantastic.

Oh my gosh, paper cuts are the worst! For something so little, they hurt so bad.
You gotta go see the Country Bears. It's a foot stompin'-hand clappin' good time.

Like I've said before, if something stupid can happen, it'll happen to us! It does make for some pretty funny stories when we go back and think about the trip.
I would love love love to see Disney at Christmas. In 2000, we went during Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving, the Christmas decorations were put up. We only got to see the Magic Kingdom because we left the next day.

Well, I can't say that the acoustics were great but we could hear pretty good. But, we always sit near the back and I think there are speakers behind us so that's probably why we could hear.

You really have to see Country Bear Jamboree. It's not one of those attractions where you go "oh my gosh, that was fantastic!" but it is one where you'll come out saying "that was really cute!"

I had a first aid kit in my car so when we got back to the resort, I got it out and found three little packages of antibiotic ointment and some bandaids. Needless to say, I put those in our backpack and they stayed there. As a matter of fact, we took the backpack with us camping this past weekend and some of the bandaids were still in there.
As you can see, Hunter has come away with no injuries so far. There is one incident later on that I'll tell you guys all about. Nothing really bad though.
Isn't it great to watch your kids having so much fun at Disney World. Hunter was 11 on our trip and he still likes to see the Country Bears and, yes, he still claps his hands and stomps his feet.

Finally caught up! Stupid work always gets in the way. ;)
My DS11 was checking out your son's Indiana Jones hat and was wondering how much he needs to save so he can get one on our trip in Nov/Dec.
The post with all the info for CBR is wonderful. I love the Pop Information thread and wish there was a thread for every resort just like it. I think what I like most is that all the info is in the first 2 posts so you don't have to read every single page.
Love hearing about the ghosts! I watch all the ghostie shows that I can. A Haunting, Ghost Hunters, GHI, Ghost Adventures, etc. I would never, EVER want any thing to happen to me as I would probably pee my pants but hearing about someone else's experience works for me.

Good for you....catching up!
If I am not mistaken, Hunter's hat set him back about $40.00 but he didn't mind paying that much " 'cause it's a real Indiana Jones hat". That's what he really said. I may have the receipt where we bought it. If I find it, I'll post. John and Hunter may remember too. I'll ask.
I'm glad that you liked the detailed CBR information. I hope to come back and do something similar after we stay at Pop.

I'm afraid I may have scared some of my readers off 'cause I'm not getting too many responses from some of them anymore. I took a few pictures this morning when I first came in and then took a few more just a few minutes ago. Right after I took the lunchtime ones, I heard some knocking noises. I went outside and looked in the window of the section beside us to see if workers were there today and they are not. I also looked on the other side of us to see if my boss's mom and dad were home and they aren't. Maybe Mr. Ghost doesn't like having his picture taken?

After playing Nurse Lisa on my "country bear claw marks" as we would call them the rest of the day, I went on the lookout for my two boys and saw them playing checkers in front of the shooting arcade:

A closer shot:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0729-2.jpg
When they finished up their game, Hunter asked if he could do a little target shooting here:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0727-1.jpg
Do you think we could say no? What da you think?

He didn't do too bad. Of course, he's used to shooting his pellet, b.b. and air soft guns so he's had some practice. He could have stayed for longer but we wanted to do the Adventureland attractions.
First up in Adventureland is the Tiki Room. John hates the show but loves the nap time. He always wants to sit on the back row so nobody can see him nod off.:sad2: It was nice to get out of the heat and rest our tired feet. Especially John's toe!
Wait....before we went to the Tiki Room, I got Fastpasses for Jungle Cruise. Almost forgot I did this.:rolleyes1
The line for Aladdin's Magic Carpets was long so we decided to skip it and ride them on our second Magic Kingdom day.
We decided we wanted a mid-day snack so we stopped to get popsicles (sorry guys but all ice cream bars are called popsicles in the South.) I got a frozen orange juice bar thing. John got an ice cream sandwich and Hunter got a Mickey bar. When John asked how much, they saw our celebration buttons and told us they were free! Score!:yay:
We found a seat in the shade and watched a bit of the Pirate Tutorial which was across the way. I think we could see better far away than the people who were crowded around. Popsicles all eaten, we walked right on Pirates of the Caribbean. It had just a 5 minute wait.
A few pictures. They aren't in any kind of order and they aren't that great because I was still trying to figure out what setting to use....sorry:

Well, curiosity got the better of me and I pulled the book off the shelf. You know what it was about? You will never believe! Defamation-Attorney's Character The subtitle? "Dishonesty or unethical conduct". I read a little and the cases were very very similar to what is going on. I swear I almost dropped the book on the floor!
Maybe the ghost did want me to read the book.

Great pics of POC!! I just told Dayne I bet Ashton would have loved the counry bears I forgot about them (can you believe--I'm w/ John on the Tiki Room I usually go for the a/c) we did not do that this year either. Ashton & I turned around at the HM and stayed in Fanatsyland. Next, year --if I plan it right and the crowds are much lower I plan to catch it ALL.
I started trying to potty train Ashton, again. Now,that he is feeling better--he was doing great in WDW and after surgery he said it hurt every time we put him on the potty so we stopped. :scared: having fun :upsidedow:

OUCH with the "fingernail friend". You did a good job with the hand sanitizer as it is mostly alcohol anyway. I carry a little first aid kit in my backpack because one year Tyler was walking on the raised concrete flower beds out front of Epcot and he slipped off and tore a chunk out of his knee and I just happened to have some neosporin and band aids in my backpack. Now they are always with me in the park, along with ibuprofen, an epi pen, and benadryl. Yes I am a walking med cabinet...............:lmao:.

I cringed when I read that part about the "chunk out of the knee". Oh, that sounds painful! I think after reading about these incidents on here, I will most likely begin to carry a small first aid kit in the parks, as well. Geez, I feel like a walking suitcase anyways between my camcorder, camera, change of clothes for DS4, hairbrush, sunscreen, ponchos, umbrella, sweatshirts for when it gets cool at night, etc. etc.. Quick tip!! I carry a sandwich ziplock bag with a few band-aids, small tube of neosporian, a few alcohol wipes, four of each tylenol, bendryal. And the rest stays in the suitcase in the room. so, as not have carry more in the diaperbag.

I thought the same thing. And, yes, we take a backpack in the parks too. One day, we said, let's see if we can do this without taking it in. It rained.....and we had no ponchos because they were in the backpack in the room.
Quick tip!! I carry a sandwich ziplock bag with a few band-aids, small tube of neosporian, a few alcohol wipes, four of each tylenol, bendryal. And the rest stays in the suitcase in the room. so, as not have carry more in the diaperbag.
I have a separate pocket in the backpack just for John's medicine, tylenol and now the ever present bandaids and super glue!

First of all, I'll show you a few pictures of the office building.
Here's a shot of the building itself. We are in the section with the red doors. The little bit of brown that you see on the left is the section they are remodeling. We are in the old downtown area near the courthouse and they have a Downtown Historical Society that you have to go through to make renovations. It's hard as heck to get approval. Thus, no new coat of paint on the building yet.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1899.jpg
This is the backdoor that you have to shove to get open. It's the one that leads to the outside garden (that's surrounded by high wooden fence). This one opens sometimes by itself.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1890.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1891.jpg
This is the door that opens by itself all the time. This is the bell on our side. It's a metal bell shaped like a red bird. Notice the keypad and key,
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1877.jpg
Up close shot of the redbird bell:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1870.jpg
This is the other side of the door. The bells are really loud. They are made of brass and have huge clappers in them. Two pictures of the door bells:
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1879.jpg
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_1880.jpg
First of all, either the keypad is locked or the key is turned to lock at all times. Second of all, the bells ring when somebody comes through the door. But, not when the "guests" open the door. No keypad beep, no key turn, no ringing bells. We haven't figured that out yet.
For the last couple of days, we have, at times, smelled cigarette smoke. Neither or us smoke and on the days we have smelled it, there is no one working next door. I think our ghost is a smoker.
I took more pictures yesterday but none of them had anything out of the ordinary in them. I took one of the bookshelf in my office so you could see where the book fell from but forgot to upload it to photobucket. I brought my camera with me again today so I'll snap some more pictures later on.
Now, I need to do another update on the real report.....the trip report.

Uhhh, when I looked at the pictures better you can really tell that we need to paint this office. It was shut up for five or six years with nobody but our ghosts in it. Once we get approval, we're going to do a lot of fixin' up.

It does have some pretty ironwork and stuff on the outside. The pillars out front are pretty too. We often have brides and graduate and engaged couples come by and take their portraits in front of our red doors. Then they move down to the other colored doors on the building. It just needs a lot of clean up/touch up done to it since it was closed up for so long.

I've been so busy reading TRs I've neglected my PTR. Gotta get back to mine tomorrow.
Your ghost stories are creeping me out even more at 1:40am!
I think we're going to have to work Country Bear Jamboree into our trip. I was going to skip it, but I think the boys would like it. So sorry about the scratches, though. I know that hurt!
I'm adding First Aid kit to my Must Have list. I'm sure I planned to bring something, but now I'm actually going to list everything we want to have in it. BTW, I'm sure you know this, but they have band-aids and neosporin (or some generic version) at the First Aid stations. We had to make use of the one at AK on our last trip. Will somehow tripped and cut the snot out of his elbow.
LOVE the POC pics. I love that ride too. I just don't understand why they couldn't work Will Turner in there somehow. :rolleyes1
Okay, gotta get to bed in a minute. Waiting patiently for more!

Yeah! I'm your first post ever on the Disboards. I am proud to be your first.:rotfl: I had hoped to get more of my Magic Kingdom day posted yesterday but that didn't happen. I had to put more stuff on ebay so I can pay myself back the $197.00 difference that I paid out of our pocket to pay off our vacation. I think I have only $60 or so before I'm paid back.
Since I only work until Noon today, I hope to get some more Magic Kingdom pictures posted this afternoon.

Ooooh! Have you caught anything in a picture? That's my goal. Of course, the ghosts probably won't come around when I've got a camera in hand. I'm tempted to go up there at night and take some pictures. But my husband is spooked by that kind of stuff and I don't want to be in a large building and out on the street by myself late at night.
I totally believe you on the smoke smell. So, if you're kooky, I am too!

My dad was really really sick for a long time and I started writing a book when he was in and out of the hospital. I can't tell you how many times he was in the hospital. I know that from September to January, he was in ICU 12 times. So, you can well imagine how much time we spent in the waiting room waiting on visiting hours. I often think I'll pull out my pages and start again but I never find the time.
The building is really neat. We have quite a few like it around the town.
Okay, I'm all caught up again. :goodvibes

At the time, I didn't think about going to first aid. I guess I thought the hand sanitizer hurt so bad, it did the job!
I haven't even thought about adding Will Turner to the Pirates of the Caribbean. Maybe we should all write to Disney and see what they say. I think he'd be a good addition.
You gotta work in the Country Bears. Yes, it's hokey and corny but it's fun.
So what kind of stuff are you selling on Ebay? I've always wanted to get into that, but wasn't sure if it was really safe or not.
I was going to ask the same question!!
Right now, I have an assortment of things.....yarns, jewelry making supplies, scroll saw blades and books. But, I have sold other things too. I go to various stores around the area and shop their clearance aisles. I don't buy anything that I wouldn't want to get stuck with. Meaning, if it doesn't sell, what can I do with it? Can I use it? Can I give it as a gift? Can my family members use it?
If you get a chance, can you PM me tips on how to list stuff. In the past I list and basically it never seems to be even looked at. Even when I search it, my stuff doesn't seem to come up either, so I must be doing something wrong.

Let's get back to the real trip report. I believe when I left off, we had just ridden Pirates of the Caribbean and had Fastpasses for Jungle Cruise.
I want to apologize right away.....there will no pictures until we get to Spectro Magic. Same story......took pictures but they were lost. I'm really mad too because if you'll remember, I said "up next, John grabs Pocahontas' butt". Yeah, I got a picture of it but it's gone....probably floated away on the wind. (Bad, bad, horrible joke! Thinking of the Pocahontas song.....colors of the wind. Just the way my kooky mind works.)
Anyway, we still had a little while before our Fastpass return time so we looked around in the Pirates of the Caribbean store and bought Hunter the neatest shirt. It looked like a pirate had busted a hole in the shirt and was climbing out. On the back, you could see him climbing in. It was cool.
Still having even more time to waste, we decided to walk over to the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House and take a look around. On the way over, we spotted Pocahontas. John's not real big on having his picture taken with the characters but he consented to have his and Hunter's picture taken with her. Wonder why? Could it be that she was super pretty and had on a itty bitty dress? Hum.:sad2:
Before I tell you what he did, let me tell you something else. John isn't a big picture taker. He doesn't mind taking pictures of everybody else but he's not too keen on having his picture taken. No matter where we are. Most times when John and I have our picture taken together, he puts his arm around my back and he'll grab my butt as a joke. 9 times out of 10 he does it. He also says the stupidest things. Remember, he's a jokester.
I guess by now you have probably figured out what happens with Pocahontas. You guessed it! Hunter and John walk up to Pocahontas. Hunter gets her autograph. Pocahontas puts her arm around Hunter and her arm around John. John puts his arm behind Pocahontas and, without thinking, rests his hand on her butt!:lmao::rotfl: Wait, wait! That's not all, he turns to her and says "I've got a hurt toe. Do you want to kiss it and make it better?" .:rotfl2: From the reaction on his face, I could tell the exact moment he realized what he had done and what he had said. His face turned red. His ears turned red. And his mouth starts to twitch. He didn't know if he should run or laugh or cry. I started laughing, snapped the picture and then said let's get out of here.
John started speedwalking towards the treehouse and actually beat Hunter and I to the entrance. Remember, this is the guy that walks as slow as a dinosaur, who has a possible broke toe and he beat us! I think John was wanting to get up in the tree before Pocahontas called security.:rotfl2:
Now, for those of you who are wondering did he do this on accident or on purpose. He really did it without thinking. Bless his punkin' heart.
We climb into the treehouse and after a little bit, I can see that John isn't quite as flustered as he was initially so I started picking on him about his Pocahontas butt grab/pick up line. Hunter started laughing, I started laughing and eventually John started laughing. We laughed so hard we had tears rolling down our face. You know those times when something just hits you and you can't stop laughing? That was us. People were looking at us like we were total idiots.
By the time we got out of the tree, John's toe was hurting him pretty bad so he sat down on a bench while I went to see if the coast was clear. When I say coast was clear, I mean...was Pocahontas still on duty or had she gone in yet? She hadn't and it was about 10 minutes past our Fastpass return time. What to do? We decided to wait a few minutes and watch for when the handler said Pocahontas was taking a break. After about another five more minutes, we saw Pocahontas head off and we quickly made our way to Jungle Cruise.:rolleyes1
Even with our Fastpass, we had about a 10 minute wait to get on our Jungle Cruise boat. Our captain was pretty funny and, of course, corney which made the ride all the more enjoyable.
Lacey called us just as we were getting off the Jungle Cruise. We had called her earlier to see if she had any ideas for souvenirs for each of her roommates/classmates. She remembered that we had bought her a leather bracelet a couple of years back and asked if the stand was still in Frontierland. We walked over to see. It was, so we had bracelets made for each of the Mission Georgia Master's Commission students. We had the castmember engrave MGMC in the leather. Set us back a good bit of money but it was better than buying everybody something they would never use. Because our order was large, they gave us a ticket, told us to go pay and then come back later.
*****Interruption but not a conclusion: Lacey and her classmates went to Downtown Disney earlier this year (2009) and Lacey bought all of the new students an identical bracelet. Wasn't that sweet! Let me amend that, wasn't it sweet of Mama and Daddy to put money into her checking account to buy the bracelets for the classmates? She can't help it though. She can't have a job because they are doing their missionary and college work.
Okay, let's get back to the report.
We decided that we would go over to the Haunted Mansion and see the ghosts (you know how I love 'em). The wait was 30 minutes but it would take longer than that for the bracelets to be ready. The only thing I don't like about the Haunted Mansion is when you get out of the stretch room. It seems like every time we go, there is more than one stretch room operating and when the door opens, you get pushed and shoved all the way to the SINGLE line. I hate that part. While on the ride, it stops and we are stuck for a little while but we didn't mind because we knew we had some time to kill.
We shed our hitchiker and made our way out of the mansion and back towards the Frontierland store. They were just finishing up the last bracelet.
I asked my guys if they were getting hungry and they said sorta so we went to Pecos Bills. I just have to have their sauteed mushrooms and onions. I knew that the cheese sauce had been removed from the fixin's bar but didn't know until I got back home that I could have asked for cheese sauce when I ordered. From what I have been reading lately, it's back on the bar. Thank goodness. I love dipping my fries in it.
John and Hunter told me what they wanted and went to search for a table. John stayed on table guard duty and Hunter came back to wait in line with me. John got the bbq sandwich and Hunter and I got burgers. I ordered from the kids' menu because I wasn't that hungry. The castmember threw in a couple of free desserts for our birthday and anniversary. :woohoo: I'm liking this pin wearing thing.:cloud9:
Before I started eating my burger, I opened the backpack and made sure that my super glue was there. Even still, I was kinda paranoid so I cut my burger into bite size pieces. I got the funniest look from the little girls at the table beside us.
While we ate, we decided that we'd go over to Tomorrowland and see if we could get into the Laugh Floor. The plan was to see Laugh Floor and then shop a bit on Main Street before staking out a place to see Spectro and Wishes. After tossing our garbage, we started out for Tomorrowland.
We lucked out because we were ushered right into the waiting area and the castmember was waving us in as some of the last people allowed into the show. Great timing. We didn't get picked this go round but it was still funny.
Once we get back to Main Street, we started at the store nearest Casey's Corner and continued all the way down to the Emporium, stopping along the way to look at things that interested us.
OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I totally forgot something in my Hollywood Studios installment. I'll come back and post it separately.
Anyway, when we get to the Emporium, we pretty much split up. We just met up every once in a while. I bought John a new coffee mug. He says that the Disney mugs keep his coffee really hot, just like he likes it. I found a new pair of Mickey earrings. I was looking for Hunter something when Hunter called me on my cell phone. He had found some Disney character figures dressed like Star Wars characters and I had to get over there right away. I finally found Hunter and John and we decided he could pick out three.
Next on the shopping list was a shirt for Lacey. She doesn't like t-shirts real big and she doesn't like them too tight so it's hard to find something. We found several in the boys section and I took them into the dressing room to try them on since we are about the same size on top. I had John bringing in different sizes and looking at them and the stupid nutball opened up the door while I had a shirt up over my head. I told him I didn't have a lot to show but what I do have, I don't want to broadcast to everybody in Disney!!!! We finally decided on a football jersey type shirt that was tighter than the normal jersey. Cute. After we paid for everything, we decided we better go find a spot to sit and watch the parade.
I know you're probably saying shut up and show pictures! Okay! Okay!

We found a spot right next to a garbage can. I know that sounds horrible but I've found that it's great. We can't have anybody walk over us because there's the garbage can blocking the way. I also don't have anybody pushing and shoving their way in because there's a garbage can on one side. Before long, here comes Spectro! (these pictures aren't in any kind of real order....sorry)

It's pretty sad that we are interesting on vacation and are total bores at home. :confused3
We've seen Spectro many many many times but absolutely love it each time we see it. I often hope to meet another diser at Disney but have only run into one and that was at the Epcot bus stop.
You gotta see see Spectro. It's just great. If we miss the day time parades, we aren't too disappointed but I've got to see Spectro.
Yeah for almost paying off the car. I paid mine off last year and it felt sooooo good.
I felt sorry for Pocahontas but it was so funny!
The cool thing was that I had a planned meet with BKMETV and actually noticed another lady there with a Lime Green Mickey Head so I got to meet her too. I also met someone on the bridge from Tomorrowland over to the Castle at MK. I was a little confused at first because she came at me with a wallet in her hand until I noticed that she had a Lime Green Mickey Head in the see through sleeve of her wallet. I was so taken off guard that I thing I was a little stand offish. I felt so bad! I wish I remembered her user name so I could apologize. (I forgot to mention that I was wearing a rather large Lime Green Mickey Head on a lanyard for all who DISed to see.)

Before I post the rest of the Spectro pictures, I wanted to tell you about what I forgot about our Hollywood Studios day.
On our 2007 trip, we bought John an award statue/trophy. It's a large Mickey and at the bottom, the brass plate says "World's Best Dad". We gave it to him for Father's Day.
On our 2008 trip, we were shopping somewhere on the street in front of the big hat. (Sorry, I forget the name of the street.) I told John and Hunter that I was going across the street to look in one of the other stores. I found the statues again and this time, they had brass plates that were blank. I asked a castmember if it could be engraved and they said yes but I'd have to take it to another store to have it done. I called John and told him to give the phone to Hunter. He met me outside the store and we told John he had to stay put. We bought the statue for John and took it a couple of stores down to have it engraved. The lady told me it would take about 30 minutes to engrave it. I was given a receipt and told to come back.
We met John back out on the street and about that time, some street performers came by and stopped right in front of us. It was the one where they are supposed to be maintenance workers. We really like to stop and watch these kinds of shows. (In 2007, Hunter was chosen to perform and received a "real fake gold" trophy.) Once the performance was over, Hunter and I walked back over to check out the engraving. It turned out really well and we asked them to send it to package pickup. That was the package that had my Year of A Million Dream Guest of the Hour certificate and pin on it.
That night, we had John open his package and he was surprised to see the statute/trophy with the engraved "Best Buddy" on it. It now sits proudly in our living room right next to his World's Best Dad statute.

Don't feel bad that you can't remember her name because I can't remember the diser's name that I met either. I'm always on the lookout for fellow Disers.

Now back to the Spectro Magic Parade pictures. They're not super good pictures and certainly do not do the parade justice:

and then she gets right in front of us and her float stops and she slips. The only way she kept from falling to her knees was by catching the post beside her. The crowd gasped. All three of us laughed. She looked straight at us and then covered her mouth like she was laughing. We didnt' cover our mouths and we were definitely laughing! I'm sorry, I know it wasn't supposed to be funny but we couldn't help it.

Your updates are so good :thumbsup2. This September can not get here fast enough. You are getting really close to your time. I'm jealous.
For some reason your pictures of your office building reminds me of the movie, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". I think most southern cities have those old buildings that have that slight musty smell with a faint feeling that there is something hiding in the corner. All the old houses downtown Mobile have that feel. Those high ceilings and the wood floors that creak when somebody walks across them, or at times when nobody else is there to walk across them :scared1:.

The trophy for John was a great idea! I'm sure he loved it...a very special souvenir. :goodvibes

You get to make your ADRs tomorrow don't you? I always feel so much better after get those done. It's like the trip is all the more closer. But, then I read a really awesome review or see food pictures of another restaurant and wonder if I should change them. I rarely do.
Our office does have a musty smell to it. I keep a potpourri pot going all the time just to keep it at bay. And, we are right near the river, I can see it out my office window so that doesn't help either.
Before we moved into the building, John and his brother went over to work on the front doors since the bottoms had some rotting. They kept saying that they thought the place was haunted but I just blew them off because they get silly when they get together. Even after we moved in, I didn't think anything of the "lost" things I kept finding. But, now after the doors being locked/unlocked, doors opening by themselves, smoke smell, etc., I am definitely with John and his brother.

I don't think we'll ever let John live the butt grab down. It was just so funny afterwards. At first, the poor man was mortified that he had actually grabbed her butt and then asked her if she wanted to kiss his toe! I'm laughing now!
I wish I could figure out how to make my camera take better night time pictures. I really wanted those Spectro pictures to come out better. I'm not great with electronics. I usually just hand over my cellphone, camera, remote control, etc. to the kids and have them fix it. John's the same way, he doesn't know either. But, he can build a fine looking kitchen cabinet.:thumbsup2 (Remember we own a cabinet shop.) I have another picture coming up in a bit that the date is about three days off. It was dumb ole' me trying to fix the date again.
John loved his "Best Buddy" trophy. When Lacey went away to missionary college (9 hours away), Hunter had a pretty tough time dealing with it. Heck, we were too since we knew we'd only see her 2 or 3 times a year. They don't get the normal breaks that colleges get. We really tried to do more things with Hunter to keep our minds off of Lacey being gone. Thus, the "Best Buddy" nicknames. Awww!:lovestruc

While we waited for Wishes to start, John decided he needed some ice cream. I didn't understand why in the world he couldn't wait until after the fireworks but he had to have it now. I was scared that he wouldn't be able to find us because by now everybody and their grandma was on Main Street (this is why I hate watching from Main Street). There was nothing doing but he get his ice cream. Well, if he was getting ice cream then I wanted something to drink and Hunter did too. Off he went into the wild blue yonder with Hunter and I wondering if we'd ever see him again in the park or would we just see him back at the CBR. :confused3 Finally, he made it back to us after what seemed like forever and with just a minute or two to spare before Wishes began.

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z224/mickeystoontown/100_0826-1.jpg
I knew that if we didn't move we would be run over by the mob of people leaving the park so I grabbed the backpack and we headed for the hills!!!! Well, we really just walked over towards the bathrooms near the Noodle Station. It was out of the way so we wouldn't get smooshed.:thumbsup2
And then we waited.....and waited......and waited.....and waited. It seemed like the crowds just kept streaming down Main Street. John sat down and looked at his toe again. It was swollen and he said it hurt like heck but he thought it'd be okay. And then the dummy pulled on it! And he felt a pop! And he let out a little yelp! Why do men do these things? :confused3 Can they not leave well enough alone? Now, he says it hurts worse. Well, what the fruit did you think it would feel like when you pull on a more than likely broke toe? To me pulling on your hurt toe is the equivalent of picking a scab off a wound. Goodness me, what am I going to do with him? If I could have found Pocahontas to kiss it, I would have just to shut him up. :rotfl:
Anyway, after the toe pulling incident (nobody's fault but his own), we walked to the front of the park and to the CBR bus stop. It was pretty crowded but not too bad. We had to wait on two buses before we were able to get on. Thankfully, they came within about 10 minutes of each other. Not the usual 20. In no time at all, we were pulling up to the Martinique bus stop and making our way to our room.
For those of you who do not like feet, scroll down 'cause I'm about to post a picture of John's toe. He'd probably choke me if he knew I was posting this picture but he's at him parents' house helping his dad in the garden so he doesn't have to know. This is his punishment for pulling his toe and whining about it!
See this pinky toe.....normal size:

Even with the scotter driveby, the country bear claw wounds and the now broken toe, we had a great day at the Magic Kingdom. Our next day would be our sleep in/resort visiting/Downtown Disney shopping day. Hey, that doesn't sound to restful.

Your description is the EXACT first thoughts I had when I had seen the photos. It also reminded of the St. James hotel in this small town of Alabama (I think Selma--could be very wrong--we evacuated from Hurr. Gustav) the hotel was very nice but that is the style bldg; we all kept saying I bet its haunted. I think its a deep south thing; full of history, old smells, and ghosts :hmghost:

I'm glad you are having a good time reading the report. John's toe was hurting pretty bad by the end of the day. I still dont understand why he pulled on it?:confused3 I guess it's just like when he cuts himself and then pulls it open so he can show me how deep the cut is. Men, don't understand them at all sometimes. But, I'm sure the feeling is mutual.:)
We like to watch Spectro from Frontierland and then walk over to see wishes somwhere around the Crystal Palace or from the Tomorrowland Noodle Station. That's why I was super excited to hear about the new dessert party they are taking reservations for at the Noodle Station.
You really do need to start a report. I didn't start mine until waaaay after we got home but I needed something to keep me sane until our next WDW vacation.

When the last week of May rolled around, I was just itching to go to WDW because that's our "normal" time to visit. I hate waiting until August.
The first time we went to Disney without Lacey just killed us. We were calling her two and three times a day telling her what we were doing and how much we missed her there with us. I don't see how I could ever leave Hunter at home and go to Disney. I'd feel so bad!
We never ever ever leave the parks with the rest of the crowds. I'd rather wait a while and let them go ahead of me. Too much of a hassle. Especially when the kids were little and we were staying offsite. Meaning, when we went to Magic Kingdom, we had to take a boat over to the TTC and them a tram. I was always scared we would be separated. In the end, John would keep hold of one child and I would keep hold of another. Never again!

Oh yeah, I've seen people there even after an hour and a half. I thought the castmembers would start ushering people out. But, I guess they'll keep letting people shop as long as someone has money in their pockets.

John's toe is still all bent out of shape. Probably the whole pulling on it thing.:rolleyes1
I'm getting better with my camera. I've taken quite a few pictures around the house and while on weekend trips. I took some pictures of my roses, the old birdhouses and our apple tree. They turned out quite well if I do say so myself. Speaking of our apple tree, the poor thing had so many apples on it, a huge limb broke out of it and the apples are starting to rot. I guess I'm about to learn how to make apple butter.

I will. I talked to a CM tonight and she said it was way easy and a good system. I thought about you today as we were driving around downtown Mobile with all the old houses and the haunted history they hold.
I forgot to take my camera today to play around with pictures. It would have been a great day to do it too. I could have taken some great pix from the restaurant. Apple butter, apple sauce, apple pies.......:rotfl:.

The online ADR system was really easy to navigate. I made a reservation for T-Rex for the night we arrive and a backup for the night we are doing the luau dinner show. I've been trying to get a different time for Whispering Canyong. It was actually kind of playing around with the system.
Next time you get to downtown Mobile, please do take some pictures. I'd love to see them.
I am searching the internet right now looking for an apple butter recipe. There are so many apples!

I'm hoping to get better night time pictures on our next trip. I've tried playing around with my camera so maybe I'll know what I am doing by the time August rolls around. But, you can see how my camera knowledge is just by looking at all the different dates on my pictures. I'm thinking about turning the whole date option off completely.

Yesterday's shopping trip was an amazing success. Old Navy had a $5.00 sale. I got: Lacey 2 pair of denim bermuda shorts, a pair of plain shorts and a pair of plaid bermuda shorts; myself 2 pair of plaid bermuda shorts; Lacey and I several shirts each; John a shirt and Hunter a shirt. I spent just over $80.00!
Then, I walked over down to Bath & Body Works and they had a 75% and 90% off sale. I got some small shampoos for just 37 cents each. These will be great for taking with us to Georgia when we go see Lacey.
Hunter wanted to go to Toys R Us to just walk around a while. He stays with my Mom during the Summer (remember they've been out since May 21st) if John is working on a job out of town. He gets bored so I don't mind if he just "wanders" through a store. Toys R Us had their clearance items an additional 20% off. We got two PSP games and Oddball a chew bown for just under $10.00. I let him have one of the games now and we put the other one up for when we drive to Georgia and then, later, to Disney.
We made a quick stop in Michael's to see if they had their beads on sale this week. I'm making bracelets to match all of my Disney outfits. They didn't have the beads on sale but we did find Hunter a couple of activity kit things to make while at his Mamaw's. They were just $1.00 each. I also found a neat silver pendant for just $1.99. Our grand total at Michael's? $7.32.
Then, before heading home, I did what any good Diser would do......made a stop at Home Depot. I knew that some of my Diser friends would be making countdown charts for their upcoming trips and I didn't know if they had a Home Depot nearby. So, I got quite a few and put them in my purse. When I got back home, I combined them from the ones I had collected on previous stops. Do I feel bad that I have such a large collection of Mickey head paint chips? Absolutely not! John spends thousands of dollars at Home Depot on wood alone so I don't have any qualms about getting free samples.
So, all my trip report friends......I have all of these extras and don't mind at all sending some to you guys. You just need to p.m. me and I'll mail them to you. All I ask is that you request only what you need so I can share with as many of you as I can. I will make my 30 day countdown chart and saved enough for me. I also saved a few extra of the Alien Green because I need to make new luggage/backpack tags.
These are the colors and how many I have of each:

Great job! Lisa on the shopping trip. Sounds like you hit the jackpot! :yay:
I love shopping days like that...
I don't count down the days until our vacation like most people do. I don't count today and I don't count the day we leave. I just count the days in between. I also look at how many weekends I have left. I don't go shopping during the work week. I go to work and come straight home and start cooking dinner. Once that's done, I don't go anywhere. So, I look at how many weekends I have to do my Disney shopping.
For any of you guys out there who have done Garden Grocer, what were your experiences? We always bring along our Cokes, water, milk, snacks, pop tarts, etc. But, since Lacey is going with us this year, I'll need all the extra room I can get in the car. I'm thinking about just ordering through Garden Grocer.

I'm glad to hear you were pleased with them. I am seriously thinking about just placing an order with them instead of packing all those drinks and breakfast snacks.

Welcome to my trip report, Sandy! Heck yeah, I have somebody else who counts the days like I do. John thinks that's the dumbest way to count but I'm all for it.

I'm always glad to see a new reader to my trip report. I have a more CBR pictures that I will be posting. You'll see why we've stayed there three times.
My husband and I were just talking about my office building. I'll be alone at the office for the majority of the morning tomorrow. I'm taking my camera with me again to see if I can get a picture of anything unusual. Even if I never get a picture, I know that something is there.

Hey Lisa,
It sounds like you had a great shopping trip yesterday! I hit Old Navy today (knowing I was too late, but it was the first time I could get there) and got Matt an extra bathing suit and Will an "extra" bathing suit (I say "extra" because I really got it for Cole to use, but I'll save it for Will for next year. Cole and Will are exactly the same height, but Cole is a little bit stockier, so I went a size bigger for him. Or rather, Will wears a size smaller). We also got my nephew a bathing suit. Our grand total was $10 (my mom had a $10 off coupon), and we'll be taking one item back because I wasn't sure what size to get Matt, so I got both.
I wish I'd managed to get myself some shorts, but we didn't have much time in there.
Can't wait to hear your next installment!

Your shopping trip was a success too. I forgot that they gave me a $20.00 coupon to use later in July. I'll have to go back and look at the dates on it. Maybe it'll be when Lacey is home for a month and we can use it while she is home.
My boss left me with a desk full of stuff to copy and a note that he'd be in later today since he worked yesterday afternoon cleaning off his desk. I'm going to try to get at least a small installment up this morning.

I loved the Spectro and Wishes update. Too bad we didn't have music to go along with the photos. I know you said you didn't think your night time shots turned out great, but those finale wishes pics were awesome! :thumbsup2
Again, I laughed out loud when I got to the "pulling toe" part and I had to turn my head and laugh into my hand so that my co-workers wouldn't think I was crazy if they came by and saw me sitting in my office by myself just laughing. :lmao:

Hey, Lisa! How was your morning alone with your "ghostly" friends??? Get any pics for us?
I was all alone (or so I thought) until about 11:00 when my boss came in and complained about the back door being opened again. So, I guess I wasn't alone. I took a few more pictures this morning and didn't see anything. It's so hard to tell though when you just look at the little digital camera screen. I'll look at them on my computer tonight.
My boss went next door to his parents' side (well there's a large room that separates the two of us) and swore he heard goings-on other there. His mom and dad are in Houston, Texas at MD Anderson hospital so we know it wasn't them.
I asked my boss this morning if his mom had a guest book or any kind of log of who stayed in the hotel. He said she didn't which really surprised me because that lady doesn't throw anything away. When I say she doesn't throw anything away, I mean ANYTHING. I think I'll post some pictures of one of the rooms and let you guys see just how much junk is in there.
Anyway, he did say that the original building was built back in the 1800's and that part of it burned and was restored/rebuilt.
He has heard that a few "questionable" people stayed here. When I asked about "questionable", he said people like those who used to visit Hot Springs, Arkansas. Now, for those who don't know about Hot Springs, Arkansas, Al Capone and his "friends" used to go there often to use the hot springs bath houses there. He's got me thinking that some shady things may have gone on in this building.:scared1:
He also said that Clark Gable stayed here for several days on his way to somewhere, I don't remember where. I can't imagine why in the world Clark Gable would want to come to Monroe, Louisiana.:confused3 There's not a thing here. Maybe back in the day, it was interesting?
I am going to have to get Mrs. Nelda (my boss' mother) cornered and ask her for more juicy details. I know that she knows more than my boss does since she's a history buff.

We had no real agenda for our next day as it was our "sleep in/do whatever day". Wouldn't you know it! We slept in until a very late....drumroll.....9:45 a.m. which was 8:45 a.m. our time. Not really that late was it? John has to take his seizure medication at 7:00 a.m. so I was actually up earlier but dozed off again.
I've said it before, we aren't big breakfast eaters so we just snacked on stuff we had brought from home. Yes, Hunter ate his two vitamin/nutrition laden Little Debbie Fudge Rounds for breakfast.
We tend to get ready in shifts while on vacation. I am up first. I wake up Hunter and let him eat and watch television. I keep punching John until he wakes up which takes a while sometimes. He can't help it though because his night time seizure meds really dope him up.
Hunter and I decided to walk around the Caribbean Beach grounds while John showers and gets ready. Here are a few pictures. Again, the freakin' dates are screwed up because I can't leave well enough alone and I started messing with the date setter thingie. Ughhhh!!!!

Let me stop a minute. I told you guys in the first post that I have Bell's Palsy. For those of you who don't know what this is (don't feel bad 'cause I had no clue what it was until I found out I had it). Here's a little medical test/knowledge fact for you today. There is a nerve behind your ear that is very sensitive. For the life of me, I have forgotten what the name of the nerve. It'll come to me after I sign off. Anyway, if this nerve gets damaged, it will actually fracture and regrow/repair itself.
The problems associated with Bell's Palsy? Drooping eye, sagging mouth, temporary paralysis, pain behind the ear, severe headaches and a bunch of other stuff. Anyway that nerve behind my ear repaired itself alright but it grew back incorrectly. Thus: 1) The right side of my face is a little puffier because the muscles aren't as strong; 2) My right eye looks a little smaller than the other and squenches up when I smile; 3) My right eye has crocodile tears when I eat anything spicy, sour or salty; 4) I'll get really bad headaches every once in a while and pain behind my ear; 5) I have more wrinkles on my face because the muscles aren't doing as good of a job as they could be. I'm thinking I like that because I have an excuse for the wrinkles. :) ; 6) My face and neck will actually "freeze" up and I can't move them for a minute or so. But, I can't complain too much because....heck, it could be worse and it's nothing that will kill me.
But, it can take a while for the nerve to repair itself, normally a few weeks to a few months. Well, for me, it's been two...almost three years and I still have problems. Lacey and I were going to the mall one day and stopped at McDonalds to get a Coke on the way. By the time we made it to the mall (8 miles away), my face was getting numb and it was hard for me to drink out of my McDonald's straw. I thought it was because I had a fever blister in the corner of my mouth and had just put some medicine on it. Anyway, we shopped for several hours and I noticed my muscles in my face would freeze up. That night, I have excruciating pain behind my ear. This was on a Saturday. On Monday, I called John's neurologist who told me immediately what had happened. I went in and she checked all my vitals and looked at my eyes and face and confirmed Bell's Palsy. Most recent tests show that viral infections can cause damage. Remember the fever blister? Who the heck knew that could cause so much damage.
For about a week, I had to, literally, hold my bottom lip up to talk because it sagged so much.
Oh well, enough of your medical lesson for today. (I warned you before that I was a detail person.) By the way, you all know that we are jokesters at my house so when my Bell's Palsy acts up, my husband and kids try to make light of us and say "Do you want your face to freeze that way?" Ugh! Kids! Husbands!
So, feel free to really look at the wrinkles, puffies, droopies and saggies on my face. Nanny nanny nanny! I've got an excuse!
Let's get back to the pictures 'cause I know you're tired of your lesson for the day.
We saw these gorgeous flowers growing around the resort:

Isn't Bell's Palsy the weirdest thing? The doctor told me that I could have the nerve clipped and see if it would regrow correctly this time but I said "Uh no! I'd rather deal with it. I don't want anybody clipping anywhere near my face!"

I've been playing around a little with the settings to see what works and what doesn't. I usually keep it set on Auto but then found a few more....low light, up close, action and even video. Who would have thunk it? Anyway, I've been walking around the yard taking pictures of some of my flowers, some of the old birdhouses that my dad built when I was just a kid (yes, they are REALLY old) and, of course, my family. We have a huge Oak tree in our backyard and have an old timey rope/board swing. I got Hunter to swing while I took some "action" shots and they turned out pretty good.
Oh and I've been taking pictures of absolutely nothing trying to capture a ghost.:rotfl: I'm telling ya'll, I'm gonna get something on camera and ya'll will be the first to see it.
My family doesn't ever let up on the "do you want your face to freeze like that?" line. I think they do it to make me feel less self conscious. Bless their little fartheaded souls.

I've got just a few minutes before I leave my job that pays and head home to the job that doesn't pay. So, I thought I'd post a little more.
Hunter and I made our way back to our room to see if John was ready and we were amazed to see that he was.
Before we went anywhere else, we wanted to go to Old Port Royale and take pictures of the pool construction. The main pool was undergoing a complete overhaul and my CBR Dis friends wanted pictures of the progress. I couldn't see over the fence, so I made John, literally, stand on a railing and take these pictures. My aren't we the super sleuths!

And this is a picture that I took of John and Hunter when they were trying to act all nonchalant when John had to jump off the railing because another guest was walking down the boardwalk towards us.

Love the pics of the resort!! :thumbsup2showing them to Dayne & Danny. I had shown pics of a view from the Poly facing the castle and Dayne tells us if we stay there I would even be willing to spend the week on the floor on an air matteress:rotfl:. Now he sees your pics and says hey where did we stay with the "big" slide"(now he was four on that trip--so I'm sure any slide seems big in his mind--POFQ) that's where I want to go. He is "17" he'll be 18 on the next trip. :rotfl2:!!! I just told him all the mods and del have great pools and slides. "OK so can I pick where we stay" says Dayne. Danny replies "Only if you're PAYING":rotfl2:
Maybe Clark Gabel just needed to get away where no one would know where he was:rotfl: certainly could get lost looking for Monroe now so I could imagine back than. Or maybe he was traveling between towns and loved the quaint ambience that the LA south offers;).
OOOooooo! Al Capone maybe he took care of a few judges or lawyers who wouldn't play ball w/him...(I still think it's a judge:rotfl:).

When Lacey was 18, she loved the CBR. I felt comfortable enough letting her go down to the beach at night by herself so she could have a little quiet time of her own and to call her friends and tell them how the trip was going.
I don't think I could ever make myself pay the big bucks it would take to stay at Poly. That's why, we stay at the CBR. I consider it my mini-Poly.

Loving the updates!
With your camera, is the time seeting like military time? I found out mine is and for awhile I had wrong dates becuase it was flipping to the next day at noon. LOL!
Also for night shots, no matter what setting you use, you have to have long exposures, which all the auto ones will do, and that means any movement will blur it. So standing still or holding the camera on a railing or steady object will help you get better shots.

Jen,
I found out later that it is military time. When did I find out? When Lacey got the camera in her hand during her Summer break and fixed it for me. I hope and pray that the batteries hold off until she comes back home.
I bought a small tripod for my camera and hope to use it to get some better shots.
Thanks so much for the tips. :worship: I'll try and put them to good use because I know your pictures are always so good. I haven't seen a bad one in your whole bunch.

Dana, do you have a Dollar Tree nearby? If so, see if they have a tripod. That's where I bought mine. It is metal and looks just like the ones I saw in the camera department of Wal Mart, Target and even the one at the local camera shot. It probably won't last as long but, hey, it was $1.00.

Great update, Lisa. Even though you didn't go anywhere!
And thanks for the Bell's Palsey explanation. I really was interested.
It's funny that you call CBR the "Mini-Poly". I've always called POR a "deluxe moderate" because it looks like a deluxe on the outside, but has moderate amenities (like full size beds). I even called it that when I worked for Reservations (though NOT when I was "officially" on the phone). I've stayed at CBR one time, but I just liked it okay. :confused3 We were ALMOST going to stay there this time though. I thought about getting a "Pirate" room for my boys. Instead I took the extra $275 or so it was going to cost me to have a "preferred" room instead of standard (plus another $25) and decided to bring Cole along. A friend at Disney is worth way more than a Pirate themed room.
Truely.
Can't wait for the next installment. :thumbsup2

The problems associated with Bell's Palsy? Drooping eye, sagging mouth, temporary paralysis, pain behind the ear, severe headaches and a bunch of other stuff. Anyway that nerve behind my ear repaired itself alright but it grew back incorrectly. Thus: 1) The right side of my face is a little puffier because the muscles aren't as strong; 2) My right eye looks a little smaller than the other and squenches up when I smile; 3) My right eye has crocodile tears when I eat anything spicy, sour or salty; 4) I'll get really bad headaches every once in a while and pain behind my ear;
I have had Bell's Palsy two times the last time was one day before I had to go to Cheyenne Wy for the week for work. I thought i was dying, there was a snowstorm when i landed and I had to drive 80 miles out of town and I couldn't stop because I'd Die, seriously -18 below. And i had to physically hold my eye open it was so bad. Now i know why i had such a killer headache too...It was terrible, everyone at that site reminds me of it everytime they see me. Wenonah, remember when you were so sick and you couldn't talk. It was terrible, my whole face hurt because half of my face wouldn't work. So i can empathize with you, it's very hard. OH i got it from being in a flash flood two weeks before in AZ while camping(icky bacteria ridden water)...We traveled a lot that year...

My DH spends way too much there to feel guilty about taking a few free samples.;)
Love all the pictures of CBR!! We love Pop but are considering trying a moderate next year. (that is if we are lucky enough to go back:))
The information about Bell's Palsy was very interesting! When I was in school, one of my friends experienced it and I didn't know much about it at the time.

We love the CBR but it's not for everybody. Thank goodness Disney has so many different themes to choose from. I guess the reason we haven't stayed at the Port Orleans resorts is because we are from Louisiana and the theming is something we can see every day.
I agree about taking the extra money and bringing along Cole. The reason we decided to just stick with Pop after our friends backed out was to save the $500.00 it would cost to go back to the CBR. We're using that extra money to see Cirque de Soliel and maybe something else.

I was so happy when Old Navy opened a store at our mall about 2 years ago. We used to have to drive to Shreveport (100 miles away) if we wanted to go to an Old Navy. Bath & Body Works was closed for several months due to remodeling and every since they opened back up, they seem to have better sales.
It's funny 'cause we are trying a value this year instead of a moderate. I am a bit worried about the room size. I'm thinking we may be a bit cramped in with four people (we originally thought there'd be just 3 of us) but I'm sure we'll manage.

Geez Louise, your photos are making me want to go back. My husband said over the weekend "instead of Disney next year, let's go on a cruise." My response? "A Disney Cruise?" His response "Noooooo..." (remember, he HATES Disney).

Last year, I had some kind of fever or virus or something because I started doing crazy stuff. Stuff like.....ordering vacation planning information.....from somewhere other than Disney! I started getting the information in a little bit at a time and nothing really appealed to me so I took two Tylenol Flu pills and the fever went away in no time at all.
Seriously, I did start looking into possibly taking a trip to somewhere other than Disney and everything was way out of our price range, didn't appeal to us, would take to long to get there, etc. etc. etc.
I have thought about taking a cruise, of course, a Disney cruise first and foremost but John says that is a no-go. With all the stuff that's being going on with cruise ships lately, he says he's keeping his feet planted firmly on the ground. So, it's gonna be Disney ground at least for several more years.

Hunter and Lacey are bargain shoppers just like their Mama. I taught them well.
I may be able to talk John into a cruise some day. I've just got to let all of this "cruise drama" they've been showing on television die down.

You crack me up too!:lmao:
There have been several people who have gone overboard in the last month of so. One was from Louisiana so, of course, it made all of our local television stations' news. Then, last year, there were a couple of pirate incidents where pirates actually tried to take over yachts/cruise ships.
When I priced out a cruise to Mexico (oh yeah, John doesn't want to go to Mexico because we've heard horror stories from some law enforcement friends about Mexico), it was cheaper to bring my mother along and let her and Hunter stay in a cabin and then John and I stay in a cabin than to get a larger cabin to fit John, Hunter and I. Don't know why but it was.
I have decided, though, if we go on a cruise, it's gonna be a Disney cruise and I want it to be a land and sea package because I don't know if I can stand not going to the parks.

I'd do a cruise. Well, heck, I've done a couple. And I never thought DH would go for it until he and I were on a "date" trip in Key West and saw that big Disney boat pull in. It made us REALLY want to check it out.
Cruises are not meant for large families. For the price of 2 staterooms we could have an amazing 2 week European vacation for all 6 of us. Oh well. It was a nice idea for about a week!

I love Dollar Tree too! I send Lacey and her classmates a goodie box each month and they have a theme to them. Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, June was sunglasses and beach themed, etc. etc. etc. The Dollar Tree loves me when I come in to make their goodie boxes.
I also bought some of the Disney tattoos and took them with us last vacation. Lots cheaper than getting them done onsite.

Let me know if you find one. If you don't, I wouldn't mind seeing if they still have them here and picking one up for you.
I will sure let you know. What area of the store did you find it in? I usually buy all my glow tubes, stickers and tattoo stuff there too. I found the cutiest frame yesterday for the art work Disney sent me for becoming an AP holder.

I can just see our family. First of all, we'd probably have some kind of mishap on the gangplank boarding the ship, then we'd fall off our beds in the middle of the night, get knocked in the head with a shuffle board thingie, nearly drown in the pool, fall down the stairs going to dinner, choke on a shrimp from the buffet THEN we'd fall overboard while shaking it all off.:rotfl2:

It was over by the flashlights, mousepads, nightlights and stuff.

John might change his mind in the future. I'm going to keep watching the Disney cruises because I honestly think that's about the only one I could sell him on.

You do make a good point about your crew's penchant for mishaps though...:lmao:

I've got a few minutes left on my lunch hour so I'll get a few more pictures in for you guys.
When I left off, John and Hunter were leaning ever so nonchalantly against the boardwalk railing and I was taking their pictures. We really were just taking pictures of each other 'cause you know that we would NEVER climb up on a railing and take pictures of a boarded up area.:rolleyes1
We walked around the island and took some more pictures:

We found this concrete alligator hiding in the island shrubbery:

Now before I tell you guys something, you've got to promise and pinkie swear that you won't fuss at me or yell at me or shake your pointy finger at me. (Long pause) Did you promise? Promise you promised? Okay, I'll tell you my secret. On our last day at the CBR, I pulled up two little bitty sprouts of flowers from the island, put them and some dirt in a cup and brought them home with me and one of them survived to grow in a pot on my back porch.
I know! I know! I'm not supposed to do that but I did. They were underneath a lot of the great big shrubs on the island and they were just little baby sprouts! Oh shoot! I think I hear the Disney police sirens now.
Gotta scram!

Oh my! I never knew bowling could be so dangerous! Except to my pocketbook because we really dont' know what we are doing and we end up just acting goofy (I know that's hard to imagine since you know we are such a stoic bunch.) and playing several games.
