Oh YEAH - double stroller - although it is a Maclaren and I have been hearing stuff on the news about them chopping off kids fingers so I am going to have to be careful with this one! :scared1:

Great plans! Some day I want to try Tutto. You're doing so well with your plans. I think 3 trips in a year is a bit much cause I have no desire to work on our trip plans at all. lol

i know what you mean- I am not as crazy as ai was with the last trip... I cant even imagine 3 in one year!! :scared1: I think I need a trip once a year or even once every two years maybe. I dont want the kids to just "EXPECT" Disney!!

Sounds like a great day planned! Kona looks awesome will have to think about adding that one :rolleyes1 (still have a year to decide-:lmao: ). I have heard mixed things about Tutto--the pasta dishes I did not hear anything good on but the lasagna and one other dish (can't remember which one-whose's TR was that on :rolleyes1 )

Wendy ya'll can plan with us...we are going back Nov 2010, the week after Thanksgiving(is the plan so far)...I want to see the Christmas decorations with out the crowds. Some friends of ours went last year from Dec 24 - Jan 2 and said you could not move in any of the parks:eek:...I have subbed on to several threads to hear how the crowd levels are for all the different weeks of Nov and Dec to make our choice for certain in Jan.

UGH, so after 3 months of waiting........ I finally here the news that my position has been eliminated. :scared1: I knew it might happen but when they say those words, it's hard not to feel rejected. :sad2: I have always worked. It feels so strange!! They want me to stay on a couple weeks and train the other admin.... My boss has retired or rather been forced into retirement so I kind of knew as her admin that my days were numbered. It was just crappy how the whole thing has been handled. Oh well. So now I am thinking that I will take the kids out of daycare and afterschool and be home with them and collect - it's 2 years now!!

I must admit, I am SO scared. :scared1: How can I be this scared of being alone with my terrible yet loveable two year old for 24 hours a day- 7 days a week??? ::eek: My 5 year old is a piece of cake and in school. I just worry that my little one will not have all the advantages that Myles had. He learned so much at school. I guess I will need a routine and schedule and will need to learn what the heck I am to do with a two year old!?

This is something I have wanted my whole life- and it broke my heart sending them to daycare when they wre 8 weeks old, but we had to do it. Now I am being paid for 2 years to be with my boys at home and practice/get adjusted to this new lifestyle! ... what a gift! I just hope that I will be good at it. :)

Sorry to hear that your position has been eliminated. :hug: I'm sure you are going to be just fine taking care of your beautiful boys. This may be the biggest blessing of your life. Everytime something negative has happened to me in my career, something 10 times more fantastic was right around the corner. I wish you the best Nickie!

I understand your concerns about being with Owen 24/7, but there are plenty of things you guys can do to break up the day. Before Emily started preschool, we signed up for free programs at the library, she took an art class through our community programs etc. If you need a break, there is always Playhouse Disney and Nick Jr!!:happytv: Take advantage of the unemployment $$ and enjoy your time with your boys!!

I won't like being home with a 2 year old is challenging at times but it is so great! Remember you won't be alone for 24 hours a day either.

Check our your library for story time. Also don't play with him all the time or he'll expect that and you won't get anything done. Help him learn how to play and entertain himself. :)

Also if you are a member at a gym they probably have mommy and me classes. The library has a lot too. Nap time will be your favorite time of the day! There is a ton of learning books and toys you could buy to help with the learning basics. Also turning on Sesame street is a great way for Owen to learn a lot.

Thanks Barbara! I am excited. I stop working December 3rd and really am looking forward to it. Already I have noticed such a change with Owen. It's amazing when you take the time to sit and teach them things how fast they learn. I do love nap time!! I am also going to have my mom sit come over for coffee once a week and Wayne's mom too and stay with Owen while I go to the gym. I hope I can make a healthy change for myself too.

No not two years severance- boy that would have been nice!! BUT they are paying me till the end of the year and then giving about 4 months severance and then I can collect. i figure this will be a slow way to ease us into the one income....

You have a great outlook! I know you are right. I am such a control freak and not having the control to leave when I want is the hard thing.... but I am not sure if I ever would and I have ALWAYS wanted to be home with the boys so this is a good push for me!!

But, like Shannon we just started going to local story time at the library (they love it), we try to go to the park, and we have school time for an hour a day (I bought workbooks at the Dollar General--some are even Disney themed; and I use alot off the internet)...we go to the local playgrounds and well you get the picture...

We taped it! So this is the third time we watched it tonight. I love it. Even makes me a little teary- just too cute. I think its big even with the older kids- my niece who is 16 loves it- and knew all about it before it was even on.

I do not know the page your talking about but would love to check it out. I need some ideas for some Christmas crafts with the kids. When they were in daycare they brought home stuff every day and now I guess its up to me!!

Had to share...I put all our Christmas cards on the fridge this year (my santa broke last year)...each time Ashton goes into the fridge or passes it he stops to say you see my friends (there are several pictures there) I will ask which friends "my boys" I keep telling him their names but so far Owen and Myles is his boys.... (remember he does not have many boys in his life it is all little girls)...

I was so excited :banana: The kids didn't really get it, but it got me so excited- just seeing the word "Polynesian" made me want to pass out!!!! The Poly has been a dream of mine. Actually every time we have gone to Disney, I always ask the TA to price out the Poly for me, and I just could never justify spending over $1,000 more from the Moderates to stay at the Poly. But with the 4/3 deal this year we decided to just go for the deluxe! This may be our only time doing it, but I am so excited to see what it is all about!!!!! We also have never used ME and always had a rental car, and I am really looking forward to not having to hassle with the bags and rental car!!

I have been VERY BUSY planning this trip. Here is a look at my 3rd child, my Disney Spreadsheet! :rotfl2:

We have made some changes to our plans....

Day 1 (Jan 30th)
Our plane now departs at 6:30AM and arrives at 9:30AM (Thank you Jet Blue :mad:)
This means that we will be catching a taxi at 4:30AM rather than 7:00- which was the original plan!!

We will have a quick lunch at Captain Cook's and meet up with Wayne's Brother Jeff and Jeff's daughter Shannon. Dinner is scheduled for 5:10PM at Chef Mickeys - then we will come back to the Poly, and grab a Mai Tai or some fruity drink, and watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly! :cloud9: Because my niece will be here to watch the boys, we may take advantage of this and head down to the Tambu Lounge to watch a game and have a drink with Jeff.

Day 2 (Jan 31)
Today we will head to the MK for an 8:00AM ADR at Liberty Tavern. I am so excited because Jeff and Shannon haven't been in the parks before opening and we are really looking forward to sharing that with them and to try out LTT for breakfast!

We will be meeting some friends on this day as well, and have an ADR for 8 people at Tony's around noon. We plan to head back to the Poly after the parade or maybe even after lunch and say our goodbye's to Jeff and Shannon, and then meet up with our friends for Dinner at Ohana at 5:25PM. After dinner, we will head back to the MK for Wishes and Extra Magic Hours. I LOVE the parks at night, and this being our first park day, it is going to be awesome to close it down!! I know- we are going to be SO tired the next day!

Day 3 (Feb 1)
Today we will wake up, head to Kona Cafe for breakfast at 7:30AM, and then catch the monorail to Epcot. Our plan is to do whatever we can in Future World until lunch. We have lunch scheduled at 1:00 at Chef de France, and will hopefully see Remy again! After lunch, the plan is to head back to the Poly for naps, and then to head back to Epcot for a late dinner at San Angel and to catch Illuminations. - Another late night.... seeing a trend here?!

Day 4 (Feb 2)
Today we catch a bus to DHS for an 8AM breakfast ADR at Play & Dine. We will head right to TSM and then do whatever we can before our 1PM ADR at Sci-Fi. After lunch we will leave and get the kids back to nap/rest. We have a 7PM ADR at California Grill and want to see the 8PM show of Wishes from there. We are REALLY looking forward to this dinner!!!

Day 5 (Feb 3)
Today we have another 8AM ADR- this time at 1900 Park Fare to see my beloved Pooh Bear! Owen actually LOVES Mary Poppins... here is a photo from our last trip, since we have returned he talks about her all the time and I cant wait to see his face on this trip!

After breakfast, we will go back to the Poly to have a relaxing morning- if it is warm enough we will spend some time at the pool.
The plan is to head to Epcot around 1PM for and ADR at 1:40 at Biergarten. We will spend the rest of this day touring the World Showcase. Something we always say we want to do and never end up doing because we usually only allow after dinner and before Illuminations which is NOT enough time!! Dinner is scheduled at 7PM at, um, two places! :headache: Please dont be mad at me!!! I will drop one of the reservations but I just CAN'T DECIDE!!!!
Marrakesh or Tutto Italia. If you are reading this please let me know what you think!!!! After Illuminations we will head back to the Poly.

Day 6 (Feb 4)
Today we head to the Animal Kingdom for an ADR at 8AM at Tusker House. We did this in May and Loved it!!! It was great being right at the Safari at rope drop too!!!
Lunch is scheduled at the Yak and Yetti around 1:30 and we will plan to leave after the parade. - We love this parade!!!!
Dinner is at Narcoosees. We went here last trip too and hope that it is as good as it was last year. Wayne thinks it was the best meal of the trip:cloud9: and I think I agree with him on this one!

Day 7 (Feb 5)
Today we have Breakfast at the Wave at 7:30 and then will walk over to MK for rope drop- We havent done this yet because we are always in the park already!!! We are looking forward to this!!!!! Lunch is scheduled at the plaza, and then the plan is to go back to the poly in the afternoon maybe after the parade, and order a pizza in the room for dinner. We have a very special treat for the boys this night!!!!!!!!!! We are taking them on the Pirate and Pal's Cruise. We meet at 6:45PM at the Contemporary and have a little reception with Captain Hook and Smee, and the kids will have their pick of lot's of snacks and then we head out on a pirate boat, and sing pirate songs, and they have some trivia, and we will see Wishes and then head back and be greeted by a surprise guest! I am pretty sure I know who it is!!! ;) This will hopefully be a great way to end yet another Magical Trip to our favorite place in the World!!!!

Day 8 (Feb 6th)
Today we will wake up and head to Ohana for our traditional last day breakfast with Mickey! Last year I cried. :sad2: I had know idea we would be coming back in less than a year! :scared1:
After breakfast, we will let the boys pick where they want to go. We will pick a CS at that park, and then head back to the Poly for a 5PM ADR and Kona Cafe for dinner and then hop back on ME to take us to the airport for a 9:30PM flight that gets in at 12:03AM :scared1: The next day is Superbowl Sunday- I have a feeling we may be watching it this year from home.

Yay!! Back to the planning!! Christmas was exhausting this year, I'm glad it's over too! It didn't help that I was put on bed rest the day before Christmas Eve!!

So I thought I would back up a little and show some pics of our past trips, and write a little about what we have learned and how we have become so in love with Disney!!

I had gone as a child many times (Uncle was a chef at GF) But, our first trip together as a family was in December 2004 - Myles was 10 months old!! We had NO CLUE what the heck Disney was all about- Where to stay- the difference between Value or Deluxe.... We had no idea about making reservations for everyplace we ate at or where to go and when! We were clueless and because of that had a HORRIBLE Disney Experience!!!! I guess to think back, our first mistake was going the week after Christmas. I had read it was the busiest week, but thought, "oh we will be fine" (WRONG!!!!) The second mistake was deciding to invite the ENTIRE FAMILY to join us. Don't get me wrong... I love them but NOT ON A FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY!!! A few more mistakes was opting for our cheapest options. I like to be spoiled on vacation. We stayed at POP and I know lot's of people love it but I didnt. Probably because it was the week after Christmas but I remember feeling like cattle in the foodcourt, and the pools were so crowded with teens... We did however manage to take some cute pictures, and did have lot's of fun with our new baby meeting all the characters and even managed to all have dinner together at Ohana which was GREAT and at Cape May for our first character meal! (Girls only- guys were golfing) Here are some of my favorite pictures from this trip!

Ok, So after that horrific experience, we had NO desire to go to Disney again anytime soon! When Myles was 2 we decided let's try this again! We started planning for our next trip. I did however get pregnant during the planning, and we decided that we would still go- even with a newborn! Owen was 8 weeks old for his first Disney experience in September 2007. We brainwashed the boy- for now Mickey Mouse is ALL this boy talks about and as for the rest of us, this trip was an incredible bonding experience for our new family. We made SO MANY special memories on this trip and totally fell head over heels in Disney Magic! We were hooked!!:lovestruc

On this trip we did things a little different from the first trip. For starters, we researched everything Disney!! We went for free dining and upgraded our hotel to the Moderate level and stayed at POR!!! We rented a car so it would be super easy with an infant! We booked all our dinners and a few character breakfasts and had an idea of where we would be each day and what we would do. This was an amazing trip!!! I remember our last night, being on the boat from DTD heading back to POR and all of us were crying. Wayne looked at me and hugged me and said we will be back as soon as we can! So now we come to the last of our trips. We knew when we left we wanted to go back ASAP! We started planning RIGHT AWAY! We knew we wouldn't go back the week after Christmas! We decided that we would go in May for Wayne's Birthday- Our anniversary- and Mother's Day! This was going to be a very magical trip!!! I planned this trip more than I did my wedding! :rotfl2: With many thanks to all my DIS friends, we came up with an amazing plan. We stayed at POFQ (after much debate because we really wanted the Poly but couldn't afford it) and we rented a car again, and this time we decided to do the deluxe dining plan! Well, the trip was full of wonderful Magic Moments, like when we went to our first dinner at Chef Mickeys and they stopped us because Goofy was on the phone to wish Wayne a happy birthday! Or, when Owen first saw Pluto and his hands went up to his face in AWE! Or when the boys got to ride up front in the monorail and got their monorail licenses- what an experience that was. Or, maybe the most magical was on our last day at breakfast at Ohana, when Mickey came to our table and got Myles up to walk in the parade with him!!! He had his arm around him the ENTIRE time, and I sat there with tears in my eyes feeling oh so lucky!!! We had AMAZING dinners!! The boys had SUCH an amazing time and I swear we are all a closer family because of this trip! My Mother's Day was so amazing- complete with a surprise glass slipper at our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We went on so many rides as a family on this trip and had so many laughs! Watching Myles chicken out of going on Splash Mountain and then turning around determined, "Let's do this!" and then the look on his and Wayne's face after, both so proud! When people say, "why do you like Disney so much??" I think of all these special and amazing times we have had! But I really think the answer is because it is all about going to this Fantasy Land, where if you believe in magic and good things they truly will find you and come true. We have had so many good times as a family at Disney and I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to take my kids so many times, as I know lot's of kids out there have never even got there once in their life! I will leave you here with some of my favorite pics from our trip in May, and hopefully will have LOT's more to share from our trip this January!!!!!!!!!!

Sara!!! I can't believe you will be at the Poly the day we leave!!! We will be spending lot's of time at the hotel that day- We have breakfast at Ohana and then dinner at Kona at 5:00 before we leave. That picture of Myles is one of my all time favorites that we have taken from all of our trips. It is so funny too because Wayne wanted to take that picture and said "oh this will be a great picture!" and I was like "no way is my baby crawling down Main St!" but it turned out to be a great shot and he loves to brage that it is his picture!! :laughing:

awww thank you! It made me tear up writing it. I just feel so lucky to be able to experience this with my kids. My sister and brother could never take their kids or maybe they wouldnt even want to- because they don't get it.... but it makes me sad for them anyway because I know how much fun and how many memories we have made on these trips. Eva is a lucky girl already! and I am sure you will be making lot's of very special memories on her first trip in December!!!

My crackberry- I LOVE it!!!!! So funny when I was "working" I never had one.... now that I am a SAHM I have one. I think I will actually use it more now. It seems I am always in the car waiting to pick up Myles from some activity or school!!!

My sons has been to Disney every year or sometimes twice a year since they were infants. I have a friend who is in her fifty 's and she has never been. Now that January is here, we have started the countdown!!!!! Last trip I did a huge poster board with all the Mickey Heads and this year we did a chain and included the Mickey Heads again! The boys love and love to fight over who gets to take the link off!

I broke down and went to a doctor today. I've been sick since Dec 3rd. I have bronchitus-first time ever for me. Now I've got my antibiotics and codeine cough medicine. I've got to kick this before my trip in 2 weeks!

I am planning my first family trip to Disney. We invited the family to come too! :rotfl: My dh and I are staying firm in saying we are planning the trip for DD and everyone else is welcome to come along but they are not the focus. I sure hope I don't lose my mind!! :eek:

I am making some progress!!
I bought a bag- $18.00 from target - its a cool backpack with pockets for everything! I really like it.

I booked the hotel and figured out the rides for the night before the trip! I booked us at the Hilton right at the airport and it is a really nice hotel.... usually it is 300 or more and I cant justify that for a night before a vacation but I got it on special for 99.00 (a taxi would have cost about that!)

I also started a self tanning routine. Now if I look somewhat orange in my photo's you will know why! I dont know what is worse.... orange from a fake tan or the glowing white skin from a girl who hasnt seen the sun in the last 4months!:scared1:

I forgot to mention that I CANT stop changing my dining reservations. This is a problem with the deluxe dining plan I think!!!!!! There are TOO many options. I have decided to skip Tutto because LeCellier opened up for lunch and I booked that and changed Biergarten from lunch to dinner.

I love the countdown chart!! Did you get the Mickeys at Home Depot for it? I've seen some Disers do that, it's a good idea. The pails are so cute. It's def. going to keep the boys busy on the plane and in the room. (If you planned anytime in the room that is!:rotfl:)

I live in south florida and we usually have the same weather as Orlando. We had a cold freeze for 10 days when our high was 45. Then we had shorts for 2 days and it came back. Today, I finally got to put on my shorts even at night and based on the weather forecast it should last for a while. I hope you have great weather. Even if we do have a freeze it will feel like summer for you at this point.:laughing:

Emma & I had a very magical 7th birthday trip!!!

We had lots of magical moments-she really loved Sum of all Thrills but I don't think Myles is tall enough.

At DHS we went to the animation building around 5pm on a NON Fantasmic night and saw lots of characters. We saw the Queen from Snow White-she was very in character-very cool!!!

We saw Thumper & Miss Bunny at AK-they were SOOOO cute!!!

Today I will pick Myles up at the airport and head home to get some stuff, we are calling a taxi and the three of us are heading to the hotel at the airport. I really hope we can all get to bed by 8 :rotfl2: so we get 8 hours sleep. We have to get up at 4:00AM :scared1: atleast the hotel is in the airport, so we can put the kids in the double strolller and wheel them over to the gate. Hopefully they will sleep:confused:

By this time tomorrow we will be landing in Orlando!!! (at 9:30AM) and heading to the POLY :cloud9: I do not think I will get much sleep, I am worse than the kids!!!!!

We are back!!!! We had another great vacation at Disney! I need to think of a good name for my trip report and work on sorting out over 800 pictures plus 95 on photopass (trying to decide if I buy that CD or not!?)

Just back from the Poly... My family and I spent January 30th-Feb 6th there. I think that if we went in the summer or when the weather was better or if we didnt spend the first two nights of the trip on the phone dealing with problems with our room... I would have a very different opinion of the Poly but because it was rainy and cold and our room did have a problem we didn't get the true Poly experience I think most people have there. When we checked in at 9:30 AM we were all so tired- we had been up since 3AM and I know check in time isn't until after 3 but we had hoped that we could get into a room and be able to nap before our 5:00 dinner reservation.... we were not able to get into a room until after 4:00 and then the room (which was beautiful and the view was amazing and exactly what we requested!! Fiji 3rd floor marina side) was SO HOT! We tried to turn on the AC and the thermostat wouldnt even turn on. We called for maintenance and they said they would send someone to fix it right away. We got back to our room after dinner and it looked like someone was there but it still wasnt fixed and it was really hot in the room. We called again and they sent someone down... I was trying to get the kids to bed because we had our first big day coming up and we wanted to be rested after being up that day since 3AM and no naps!! The man that came to fix it arrived around 8:30 and was on his walkie talkie, and was so loud my kids were up and couldnt sleep- finally around 11:30 I asked him to go and just bring us a fan. The guy was so excited... he told us if it got too hot in there we could leave the door open and I asked about bugs because there was no screen and he said you may get a lizzard or something but it wasnt a big deal! (Well to me paying $500.00 per night for this room, to have to sleep with lizzards was a big deal!) he left and said they would fix it in the morning and when we got back from the park it would be fixed..... we got back at 4 and had dinner reservations around 5:30..... well it WASNT FIXED!! We had a message from the front desk saying they couldnt fix it and said we could move to a room a couple doors down.... well I had already spent the night before unpacking... we have a ton of stuff! Grocery delivery, clothes for 4 people and when you have a little one you know how much stuff you need to bring. It was going to take me another hour or two to pack and then unpack again! Because of having to call down the front, ask to speak to a manager, then get an Operations Specialist.... who then relays the message to the manager and then comes back with a resolution we ended up being on the phone the first two nights of the trip. We were late again for our dinner and nobody could shower or change because we were all packing up the room... I have to tell you however beautiful this resort is, when you spend the first two nights trying to fix problems it really takes some of the magic away from the trip.

I couldnt understand why the room wasnt checked before they gave it to us. There was a couple of pillowcases on the floor and a towel on the floor in the bathroom... which is no big deal but to make us wait the entire day and to give us a dirty room was kind of disapointing. The thermostat problem was an issue we needed to have resolved.... if this was my home and I called someone to fix a problem the resolution would never be "we just cant fix it" to me this was a lazy way out of dealing with the problem. I also couldnt understand why I had to talk to this middle person (the operation specialist) and not get to talk to a manager. It got to the point that I was in tears on the phone! That night we were moved to a room with a view of the castle. This was breathtaking and amazing to wake up to everyday and fall asleep watching it change colors... but in the end, I would have really prefered to have just had my original room and not have my first two nights and first two dinners ruined because of dealing with our room problems. As you all know, your time is so precious in Disney!!

Sorry for the less than fab review of the Poly.... but I think part of the problem was my expectations were SO high.... I did find it so beautiful and loved the tiki torches and music and the feel to the resort.... but I have to be honest and say that I found POR just as beautiful and with over $1,000 difference in price the Poly just didnt do it for me as I had hoped it would!!

Oh Nickie, I am so sorry you had such a rough start to your vacation. I can't believe the service was so poor. The Poly is a beautiful resort, but you're right, the mods are just as beautiful. I never really had a desire to stay at the Poly, but Mike really wanted to stay there last time so we did. We had an amazing time there, but without the b4g3, I would have never spent the money on that resort. The main reason I loved the Poly was the location to the MK, the Monorail, the pool/beach and because we were upgraded to CL MK view!

Hopefully, you will have a better stay next year at the WL!! I'll let you know how it is after our stay there in December!

Can't wait to read how the rest of your vacation went. Bummer the weather didn't cooperate everyday, maybe Mother Nature will be more forgiving next year!

It was great- when you love Disney i think it would be hard to have a bad trip... rain, crappy service, whatever we will always love it and find our magic there!

i am sure all will be wonderful for you guys!! the resort is so beautiful that even with our issues we still loved being there! We were just a little unlucky with the Poly this trip and I did have it built up to perfection in my head and I just am not going to do that again!!! But I also will not pay that kind of money again lol....

Thanks!! It was a great trip and on our last day we had lunch planned at the WL, and we couldnt leave that place without booking our next stay there. It is MUCH easier to leave Disney when you have your next trip booked!!!!

I know- I am still anoyed with them because I expected so much more from a deluxe hotel especially with their reviews on here!! It was still so pretty there and hard to be mad at the poly... we didnt get any animals either though and I tipped really good!????
