When do I have to take the 26.2 magnet off the car?

I need help with a very important topic. :confused3 Everyone keep it under control because I know this will bring out some passion! :)

Anyway, as I said in the title, I have a 26.2 magnet on my car. As long as I had a marathon that I was training for, or one just completed, I have had no problem keeping the magnet on the car. At this point, I think that my next marathon is probably a few years away but I have none planned now. My last was at Disney.

I am proud to have the magnet but being realistic, how long should I keep it on the car?

6 Months, a year?

In my opinion, never! I think once you complete a marathon, you've earned the right to keep that magnet on forever and ever. People who get "26.2" tattoos don't get them removed when they go too long between races, do they?

Of course, I haven't earned my magnet yet, so what do I know?

I also vote to never take it off your car. You've earned it, whether you've done 1 marathon or 100 marathons, its a forever thing!!

I have a 26.2 sticker on my car. I'll likely not do another full, but I sure earned that first one, so it stays. So does the tattoo ;)

I agree. Once you finish 26.2 you can keep it forever. I have mime purchased but it doesn't go on until I cross the finish line.

I think once you have completed a 26.2 or a 13.1 you can keep your so titled magnet on your car as long as you want. You earned it!!!

My 70.3 sticker came off, so I'm going to get another one today.

I have a spot planned for the 140.6 red M dot tattoo, too...hope to be able to post that up in September.

Too funny Scott because I was just thinking this same thing. I have the 26.2 magnet but I also have a license plate holder that says 26.2 Marathoner (or something like that) so I was thinking of taking the magnet off until I do my next marathon (which is not anytime soon - or I don't have any plans for right now) The license plate holder will stay and I am planning my tattoo which I will of course have forever.

I'm with the gang on this one. I have both Magnets on my Fridge and plan to leave them there until they fall off. I think you have more than earned that being on your car and to leave it on forever (Or at least until you get a new car.)

We don't have a half we're training for but the 13.1 is on my car and magnet is on my fridge. Eventually, I will get a "13.1" tattoo as well. I still need to redeem myself from landing on the sweeper bus last time, but there's issues so I can't train right now.

I know I'm a bit late, but I agree - if you earned it, you earned it for life! When I run my first half, I plan to get a car sticker and keep it forever.
