the only problem with the baggage check area if it gets busy it can get hairy...

suggestion.... :rolleyes1 there are benches across the bldg of The Voyage of the Little Mermaid adjacent to the steps/ramp for ECV. From there you can see the Pixar sign and the hug of TSM... the park opens at 9AM .. with leisurely phase it is "possible" to get there at roudn 9:15AM... How about 9:15AM by those the closest Bench to the steps towards the hub/TSM (Lord help me wake up and may I catch the 1st bus to MGM :lmao:)

Wet. Very, very wet. I was in the first wave so it didn't start pouring on me until I was doing the scavenger hunt but they ended up cancelling it for people that started later because of the lightning.

Overall, I'd say it was fun but there were areas that Disney really needed to improve on. They didn't seem to have any plans for inclement weather beyond cancelling. I understand a number of people's plastic bags flooded and they lost electronics.
