Yes, and now a 31 year old that has no business knowledge that hasn't even graduated from Yale Law School has been put in charge of GM.
We are all doomed.

I blame you "Mr. MBA", because you didn't apply for the job!!
I would have complete faith in your ability not only to right the wrongs of CEO's past, but to make GM a strong, profitable, and honorable American company once again.
Hey....that sounds like a platform for President of the United States!!!

Well, I'm pretty sure of two things - the economic mess we are in was caused by business graduates and I have run a successful business for some 20 years without a business degree. Maybe a 31 year old with no business degree is what we need.
I am concerned with the sale of Hummer to a Chinese firm, since AMGeneral makes the military vehicles, too. I wonder if this branch of the company will be kept separate. Back when control of the Panama canal was turned back over to Panama, they contracted with China to operate it. I am not sure if you know how the canal works, but control of the ships is turned over to a pilot who works for the canal, hence US Naval vessels going through the canal would be under a Chinese pilot's control. That stimulated the US Government to start talking to Nicaraugua about possible construction of a new canal and booting the Russians out of the country, resulting in my sorry butt being sent down to do my small part. Not exactly sure how everything sorted out, except that a canal still hasn't been built, but I do know it was a serious security concern. Now a hummer is no battleship, but I wouldn't feel real warm and fuzzy about driving around in a Chinese built military vehicle.

Although maybe it is a good fit for China, since the military hummers are real pieces of crap with plywood floors and fiberglass and aluminum bodies.

HUH! Fritz Henderson is 50 and has a Harvard MBA. What 31 yo are you talking about? And hummers (HMMWV) are crap - I miss the old jeeps. The Chinese will make a crapier piece of crap that somehow includes lead and mercury.

After one of my troopies totalled one, I was surprised to find that the things only cost the government 30,000 bucks. On the way to the accident, I was called by the civilian rescue crew who wanted to know how to cut the driver out, since they had never dealt with an armored vehicle before. I told them the thing was no more armored than their freakin car, and to get out their sawsall and cut the d--- thing apart.

From what I understand this does not affect the HMMWV at all since AM General stills builds that and is not part of GM.

Actually, Mike, AMGeneral is part of GM, and I believe they still make one of the civilian hummer models, too, like the H2 maybe?
Okay, I see AMGeneral is "under contract" with GM. Funny, though, all our spare parts for the Hummers came from GM.

This line is taken from the AM General website:
Although GM acquired the HUMMER brand, they do not own any part of AM General.
Then there's:
General Motors has responsibility for marketing and distributing all HUMMERs

I am not sure having a Miller Lite keg tap at your finger tips in every automobile manufactured is a good thing...but then again.
