DH and I are leaving for the Happiest Place on Earth on 11/14 checking into the Wilderness Lodge! I don't know how I will make it the next 5 months!

It will come quickly, between summer vacation starting soon, and then getting the kids settled in school, and activities, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas shopping, Holiday decorating...WHEW! I will need a vacation!

Does anyone know when Candlelight Processional or Osborne Lights start this year? What about the Gingerbread House at GF? We were at Disney the first week of December 2007 and loved the Christmas decorations. This time were bringing my parents with me. They loved our pictures and are excited to see them in person. Just hoping everything will be decorated by then.

Ethel is about 40 miles due north of Baton Rouge. VERRRY small town (actually a "village"), no wonder why you hadn't heard of it. It's sort of my "have your cake and eat it too" way of life--slow-paced rural living, lots of beautiful oak trees and old southern plantations, but only 30 minutes from shopping and work.

Well nearly everytime I look today I see something different. First it was just Epcot hours, then Epcot and MK hours were out, but IllumiNations, Spectro, and Wishes weren't listed. Then DHS hours came out. Then IllumiNations, Spectro, and Wishes times came out. :upsidedow

I am going to the homepage of the WDW website - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ and then highlighting PLAN (top middle) and then on the right it says Park Hours, from there I go to each park and go to the View Month and click on November 2009 and each park comes up for me except for AK, it comes up but it is blank. . . :confused3

Does anyone know for sure when the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights starts?

The reason I ask is because when I originally made my Nov 7-15 reservation the CM told me that we would miss the Osborne lights by a few weeks. Being that we would miss it I didn't ask the dates. Then when the November hours came out this week on the Disney website it states that they start on November 10th. The DIS has them listed as starting on the 28th (which goes along with what the CM told me when I booked). All Ears says the 10th. And the Mickey's Moms panel says it is the 28th and the Disney site must have a "glitch".

Anyone heard anything? :confused3

Just had to add...only 90 days left for us....so excited, especially since I was able to get all the ADR's I wanted!! Including Chef Mickeys (breakfast), & Le Cellier (dinner). Logged on this morning at 5 am central time and the online system was a breeze. No issues at all. Got a confirmation # for each ressie emailed to me.
I called, too, just to confirm, and everything was there.

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS time in November! We too were planning a trip for that month, but thanks to the blessing of a wonderful, permanent full time job offer for me, we've had to put our trip on hold for a year. I won't feel bad asking for holiday time once I've been there a year. As disappointed as I am with regards to not being able to go back sooner, on the plus side, I'll have a lot more money to spend and enjoy at Disney!!! Longer trip this time and hopefully staying deluxe this trip will make the wait worth it. We like to go the week following Thanksgiving, so anyone going that time period this year, I'll be anxious to read any trip reports (crowd levels, weather etc). Pixie dust to all~have a magical time!

Thanks! I haven't worked in many years (did the stay-at-home Mom thing). With the economy the way it is, and my DH's job not being very secure anymore, felt it was time to look for a job for myself. My kids are DS10 and DS8 now, so timing is pretty good. I am thinking 15 months is a LONG time to have to wait to return to Disney, so until then, I'll keep reading the DIS and planning, planning, planning!!! I've opened a new bank account just for my Disney trip. I plan on saving some of my paycheck every month so the trip won't feel like as much of a financial burden. Thanks again for all the kind words and congratulations! Enjoy your trip!

I've heard there are good things about EVERY Disney resort. I know there are more restaurants at CS, but that it's where a lot of business folk stay (because of the convention center). We were planning on staying at a moderate but bumped it down to a value so we could possibly stay a day or two longer :) The most positive reponses, though, have been about the CBR ... something about the sand just gets people cuckoo, I guess!

We are getting so close to November for our first trip to disney! We are staying at the Coronado and was wondering if this is a great resort or should I change to a different moderate? I am super excited for the free dining plan=)

We've stayed at CBR, POFQ, and CSR and are headed to POR in November! And so far our favorite has been CBR. :cloud9: Love the spacious beautiful grounds, the hammocks on the white sand beaches, and the relaxing tropical feel. Not to mention the excellent bus service and the fantastic new pools!

We liked POFQ too, but prefer a larger more spread out resort. We were not impressed with CSR, but lots of people like it. Too us it felt more geared towards adults & conventioneers. But if it was your first choice there must be something that you were drawn to and I'm sure it will be fine. Our first instinct when choosing between the moderates was CBR and we love it! :goodvibes

So our weekend Birthday trip turned into 5 days and then into 6 and now we are leaving on Saturday the 14th and coming home on Sunday the 22nd!

So many people want to come with us but no one will make up their mind so I gave them yesterday as a deadline and well no one stepped up so it's just my DD and me. I Can't Wait!!!

Anyone else doing the single parent thing with a daughter around 9-10 going the same time that may want to meet up for some pool time or something? I think we have 3 days not at the parks!

Okay, I gave serious tought to all the resorts but I narrowed it down to CBR, POR and OKW. I know I'm going to love it no matter where I am. I'd be happy if they'd let me stay under the bleachers at the Lion King show. I'll be on the look out for you. You'll be the one waiting for the rope drop at the Osborne Lights, right?:)

I know, it is so hard to choose between all the wonderful Disney resorts. So far CBR has been our favorite. But we haven't tried POR yet. We do like trying new resorts! So we were booked at POR for 8 nights with free dining. Then the room only discounts came out and I somehow managed to talk DH into trying one of the less expensive deluxes for a few nights! So I dropped the POR/free dining down to 6 nights and we will move to OKW for the last 2 nights. I am so excited to be trying 2 new resorts!! :cool1: Really looking forward to the extra space and the balcony at OKW!

We will have to find another good time of the year so we won't have to pull our soon-to-be high schooler out of school. We are staying at CSR for 10 days - Nov 13-22. 7 going, 2 rooms, our 2nd stay at CSR...probably our 12th trip to WDW.

I've got to go get my counter and figure out how many days we have left before we leave.

My husband made our ADRs 90 days out and we got everything we wanted. School started and I put everything away and forgot to start counting down the days. Yikes!

Wow! You are going to have a great time. We really enjoyed our stay at CSR last year and can't wait to go back this Nov. We have 4 adults and 2 kids traveling with us this time and will be there 10 days - our longest trip to WDW ever. Normally we stay 8 days, but we aren't going back in 2010 so we decided to go 2 extra days this year. Have a great time planning!

Hoping for the best crowd-wise! :wizard:

I didn't have too much trouble getting all the ADR's I wanted at 90 days out, but did try to switch a few things around a few days later (and everyday since), but everything is all booked up. Hope that doesn't mean huge crowds! :scared:

We are skipping Fantasmic this trip. We went to DHS on a Fantasmic day in January and it was the busiest I have ever seen any park! :eek: We decided we would skip Fantasmic from now on if they are only showing it 2X a week. That makes for a very crowded DHS on those days. The next time we want to see Fantasmic we will probably do something else during the day and just go to DHS for Fantasmic only in the evening.

I don't think you will have trouble getting a seat for Fantasmic as long as you go about 1 1/2 hours prior. We had the package with dinner and the seating and there were still plenty of seats all over the stadium when we arrived 90 minutes prior to the show. And as it turned out they added another showing for later that night because DHS was so busy!

This will be our first stay at this resort, hope we like it. We have stayed at pop 5 times and the cbr 3, so we thought to try some thing new. Really wanted to stay at ak but, what we could spend the extra money on during our trip.....:banana:

Well I started counting down at 274 days, so hitting the 50 day (now 49 day) mark is a huge accomplishment. I have been planning this GG since Halloween of last year, I cannot believe it is so close. Spoke to SIL last night who was practically bouncing off the walls she is so excited! I haven't started packing yet, but I do have a Disney box of stuff I am shipping down in advance all put together. I am have a long weekend before we head down and I will probably make use of then to pack...so 49 days until departure, and probably 42 or so until I start packing.:woohoo:

My packing plan is to try to wait until I am ready to put away the summer clothes for the winter. Which is usually around the first few weeks of October here in PA! Then I will bring the suitcases upstairs and start packing!! :yay:

Not really sure what to pack for November. :confused3 Hopefully we it will be warm and we will need summer clothes! :wizard: But not too hot! I was looking at the weather history and it looks like normal highs are in the upper 70's to low 80's. Perfect! :goodvibes

that this is just one week out of my life. I have to stop over thinking, over researching and overscheduling but... I...just... can't.

I have a pop up hamper in our room and every time I find something that I think we can use on vacation, I put it in there. Master list for Garden Grocer is done, list for shipping down food is done. Shopped for new cothes on sale and will put them aside once the weather changes. Disney binder is in the works... just need to nail down daily schedule of which parks and when. We will be there on Halloween night and have tickets to MNNSHP. Kids are excited to pick out costumes. My husband and I will wear silly hats but that's it. One thing I wanted to do was a Segway tour of the Epcot but it's just too expensive.

I also noticed Space Mountain is due to reopen the day I leave...now I'm wondering if I should add an extra day to my park hopper just to go over the MK that morning and check out Space Mountain! No chance they'd open it Friday, is there? :rotfl:

Great job! You got some really good ones. Did you try for CRT on Friday the 13th? I was searching on Tuesday to see what was available that evening for dinner because our plans changed a bit on that day and all these came up: ~ Olivia's, Maya Grill, CA Grill, The Wave, Captain's Grille, Akershus, Biergarten, Rose & Crown, Bistro de Paris, Cape May, Kouzzina, Tokyo Dining, Kona Cafe, GF Cafe, Citricos, Narcoossee's, Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, Boatwright's. Although we are going in January like many of you we could not pass up Free Dining. We have never gone in November so thought we would give it a try.

I have not read the entire thread but I did not see any "meet" plans. Would anyone like to do a meet perhaps at POR to see Yeehabob in the lounge Friday or Sat or any night.? Our dates are 11/18 - 11/23. We though we would scoot out before Tgiving to make room for y'all that want to go for the holiday!

Hey guys...I have a question..Have any of you thought about postponing your trip due to Swine Flu?

I got so nervous about it . I have three kids one of them severely asthmatic. Our state isn't widespread with it yet..but I know Florida is..it is taking the fun out of my countdown I tell ya! We leave 11/1. I just saw a poster say they know they got swine flu from either the plane or Disney...My friend in Pittsburgh got swine flu after she got back from St. Thomas.

anyone else having these worries...or are you just crossing your fingers and going to go enjoy yourself?
