Sixty days to go! Who else is onboard? My sons 7 and 4 would love to know if any other kids their age will be in the clubs with them!
Booking excursions for Grand Cayman today. Reef and Shipwreck snorkeling for ds 7 and myself and one of the sub's for dw and ds 4. We are gonna do Cozumel on our own due to Disney's restriction on ages for some of the trips. Key West we have been to several times and just look forward to showing the boys the things we loved the best!

Woo Hoo we can't wait!!!!!!

It's about time we had a roll call! Just called in our deposit. We have a ds 16, turning 17 on the 27th but will celebrate his birthday onboard.

I "think" the only thing I need to call in is his parasailing on Castaway Cay, and maybe the banana boat. He is not interested in the other teen excursions, although he plans to spent lots of time with the Common Grounds group.

We are planning to go on the Captain Marvins tour on our own and probably will go to Mr. Sancho's beach at Cozumel.

We booked the trip thru our travel agent - she
did get us a GREAT deal. COME ON EVERYONE,
let's make a meeting place early in the day - we
are desparately looking for a 'pal' for our 10 yr. old
son (our teenager can meet people on his own in
Common Grounds). If he could meet someone
early the first day, he MIGHT spend some time in
the LAB (hung with us the last time). We are also
very interested in DISers (we are both obsessed
with these boards).

Wow, only 23 or so who have responded. Weird when a roll call for 5/2003 already has over 70 responses!!

Oh well...more room for us to have fun.

Hey,

Sounds like things are shaping up well. Our family consisits of two daughters 15 and 10. Both are extremely excited to be on our second Disney cruise. My wife and I hope to meet as many of you as possible. The boards have been such a delight and I don't know about you but the next 55 days are going by so slowly we can't stand it.

We are looking forward to a great cruise and meeting many new friends.

Hey everyone.

My grandparents celebrated their 50th anniversery (in January) and have decided to take the whole family on a Disney Cruise to celebrate! There will be 5 girls (counting me) ages 11, 11,13,15 and 17. There will also be 2 boys ages 13 and 15. Of course, the parents and my grandparents will be coming too. We are all VERY excited and can't wait until we leave and can't wait to make new friends.

We'll be looking out for the green ribbons!:)

See you SOON!

The lime green ribbons: really cool idea
tie a lime green ribbon on anything DISers
might see and you'd be surprised how many
people will come up to you and start chatting
about the boards. I had my lime green ribbon
tied on my backpack strap and have met
a few DISers in the parks. It is so much fun
to start up a conversation with them.
Two weeks ago on one of the resort busses
a very nice family started chatting with me
during our ride to the parks. It is great.
I want to meet all the DISers on this cruise.
Hopefully we will spot them already in the
terminal (we will be there the minute the
doors open). PLEASE just walk up and chat
with Bob and Lucy from PA. Our son Tyler
is hoping to meet some 10 yr. old BOYS (sorry,
not interested in "girls" just yet!) to hang out
with in the lab.

Looks like the boat will have at least 3 from the same area in Pa. on board. pa dutch country, lyndon1, and our group (Manheim) are all from the same area. It really is a small world!

Maybe we should request an evening of chicken pot pie,
scrapple, funnel cakes and shoo-fly pie!
Markey: we will also be at the Royal Pacific Monday and Tuesday.
Everyone who has responded sounds GREAT - can't wait to
meet everyone!
Machs goot! (my PA Dutch is very limited!)

We're so excited!!! This is our 1st cruise. I was getting worried that there were no other kids going. I have a DD13 and twin DS9.
I posted a note about 13 year olds and have received no replies.
I'm so relieved to hear about other teen girls. We're so excited. I'm working so hard to decide what excursions to do on Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We were thinking about a stingray tour on GC and possibly a ruins trip on Cozumel. However, Xcaret sounds fantastic. So, I'll continue reading these posts. Donna

Wouldn't want you to spoil your vacation by

Look for them the 13 year olds name is MEGHAN and the other is Katie.
That should be easy to remember.

Hello all! This is going to be my first cruise as well as my son's (9, but tall for his age). He, too, is hoping to make new friends in the Oceaneers Lab. My DS is also looking forward to dining on fresh jumbo shrimp. A lot of fresh jumbo shrimp at that. Also with us is good ole mom (65+). She is the cruise veteran of our group, but has never before sailed on the DCL.

My son and I are scheduled for The Western Union Schooner at noon in Key West. I had hoped to experience the Catamaran Race with "the little guy" but as of mid-June that shore excursion was completely filled. Mom is going to take the Conch Republic Tour And Museum package.

On Grand Cayman we will be taking the Land And Sea Island Tour. Afterwards, my son and I are going to do some horseback riding on the beach with a "knowledgable guide." At least that is how the adventure was advertised on the Internet. lol.

We, too, are going to experience Cozumel on our own. I have been in touch with a travel agency recommended by Froemmers (sp?). We are going to take a private tour to see the ruins at Chichen Itza. The agency is providing a modern, air-conditioned van with a driver & guide. No meal is included but I intend to have the guide take us to a truly local establishment while there. If anyone or two or more would care to join us, please let me know. You are more than welcome and I am sure the travel agency would be both willing and able to add another van or provide a larger one.

How in the world did I ever live without having a cruise to look forward to before now?

Steve

Add us to the list of excited cruisers for the August 17th Western! Hubby and I along with our 2 sons ages 4 1/2 and 7 just can't wait. This will be our third Disney Cruise, and to say we are excited is an understatement. I'm on the lookout for the FedEx person everyday and am hoping our documents aren't too far off. Anyone else out there booked for the 17th, please respond. It's hard to believe there are only 24 postings for this sailing date??? We'll be on the lookout for lime green ribbons and hope to meet some of you great people. This board has offered us invaluable tips and money-saving ideas.....you guys are the greatest! Many thanks.

We are cruising on Aug 17th. Can't wait!!!!

This will be my family's 2nd annual cruise, they include - my nephews 13 & 17, neices 15 & 21, my 2 brothers and their wives, my Mom, DH, DS-5, DD-2, and myself.

My 15 year old neice is a bit on the shy side and had a difficult time meeting girls her age on the last cruise that they did (not Disney). We are all hoping and are pretty sure that she will not have such a hard time this year. Any recommendations?

Any of you staying on for the Eastern route that follows the next week?:smooth:

Trinity

Boomerwon (and any other interested teens),

A girl that I met in this forum and I have been e-mailing eachother for about a week. If your niece would like to join us and make friends before the cruise, e-mail me at sasquatch@pcisys.net.

We are both 13, so if your niece would like to "talk" to teens her own age, I have a cousin (girl) who is 15 and one (girl) who is 17. I might be able to get them in touch with your niece. I also have an 11 yr old sister, an 11 yr old (girl) cousin, and 2 boy cousins ages 13 and 14. They are all coming on the cruise.

If she doesn't want to e-mail anyone before the cruise, I recommend telling her to go to common grounds the FIRST day of the cruise. It will be easiest to make friends then.

Well, I think that takes care of it!!!;) ;) ;)

We are all so excited about the cruise coming up. My whole family is getting together this weekend to celebrate all of our July B-Days (5 total). It is going to be a Disney party!! What fun.:earsgirl:

Saw a previous posting that someone on the August 10 cruise already received their documents....we must be next! Maybe this week? I just can't wait!
P.S. Check out the posting on "Cozumel Kids", anyone else on this cruise interested in helping out (if the customs concern is not an issue)? This sounds like a worthy cause and a small donation from each of us could make a BIG difference in the lives of someone less fortunate than us. :)

Since this is our 3rd cruise I know what not to pack rather then packing too much, just so I have docs, birth certificates and credit card and enough clothes to keep me from doing laundry I'll be happy. Has anybody figured out what time early dinner is? I know the trial period was suppose to end, but then I hear people from the 8/10 cruise were notified of the change. What's up, anybody call?

I can top that one - asked my DH to pick
up ANOTHER large suitcase (teenager decided
he is packing his own suitcase and taking
lots of clothing - you know, we gotta look cool!)
Our 10 yr. old DS would wear the same thing
everyday if allowed! I am really, really, really
looking forward to meeting everyone.

No secrets really, a lot from these boards. You really do not get real dirty on vacation, except for tops because of heat. I find I can usually wear shorts twice with different tops, except white! Limit shoes, only take comfortable and shoes that go with more than one outfit. For dining I have a black dress with a short top, wear one night with and one night without, 2 for 1 in packing. Use all shampoos at hotels and onboard. Take a wrap for bathing suit, and usually wear that for sea days. We go in August, so all packing is done for hot days, have never had cool weather.

My DS9 and your DS10 are compatible as concerns clothing. Do you think one day = a t-shirt for Oceaneers Lab and a s/s shirt for evenings/nights? or is it more on the order of 2 shirts/day and forget the t's?

I just bought a new sports coat to wear in the evening. It isn't fancy but then again yours truly could make a Versace original look basic. lol. If nothing else, the jacket affords me more pockets to carry my DS9's "essentials" - compact cd player, cd's, not-as-compact gameboy advance, + the attachable light and, of course, magnifier, several games, extra batteries and just enough space for my wallet!

Thanks to a most generous gift from some absolutely AWESOME, WONDERFUL friends, our family will be on the August 17 Western cruise! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dreams really do come true! :)

My husband and I will be travelling with our oldest two daughters, 9 and 7. Our girls are REALLY excited about helping some of the Cozumel kids that have never had a chance to go to school before. They are picking out the "coolest" backpacks they can find and filling them with necessary school supplies and some surprise fun items as well. What a really NEAT thing that so many other families and their children are joining together to help these island kids on other sailings as well - ALL year round. :) The girls are so psyched they spent 2 1/2 hours picking out the "perfect" school supplies and are absolutely beaming with pride and confidence. This, by far, has been the best Board our family has ever been a part of. What a great group of people!

Anyone going scuba diving on this sailing? I am hoping to meet up with others who are planning on scuba diving.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

:Pinkbounc Hi everybody! I can't believe our cruise is almost here! My family is very excited about our first cruise. I've been lurking on these boards for months and I think I'm as prepared as I can possibly be. Although when we are on the Magic we will probably go with the flow! We leave for WDW on the 8th for 9 nights before the cruise. Which means I have 6 more days to complete my packing. I know we will have way too much luggage!!! I need to weed through and get rid of the "non-essentials". We have a backpack full of school supplies for the Cozumel kids ready to go.(Just need to find space in suitcase or maybe will have to use as carry-on.) I hope to meet some DISers on the cruise. I need to go buy some lime green ribbon! See you soon! SusanMouse:bounce:

My husband and I, along with our 2 yr old DD, will be sailing on the Magic. This is a special trip because my husband will be starting law school and we know that it will be several years before we can plan a nice vacation like this again. I am a little nervous about traveling with our DD but she is a remarkable child who adapts easily. I have been reading these boards since January when we booked and I can't believe it is now less than two weeks away. These boards have been a wonderful resource and I feel prepared to spend a week at sea. If anybody has suggestions about traveling with a young child, please pass them along.

Thanks!
