I was encouraged by a friend to get this PTR started. Thanks Wendy, I did need that little push .

My husband and I will be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary on October 3rd and I wanted to be at Disney and lucky for me they are having the free dining again this year and we bought APs last month :thumbsup2.

So without further ado...............

Let's get the characters for this romantic trip all laid out.

First there is this guy
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/allpictures154-2.jpg
Dale is his name, and we have been together for 23 years. We will be celebrating our 22nd Anniversary on this trip. He is the sports fanatic.

Then there is this guy
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%202009/DisneyPhotoImage51-1.jpg
He is Dallas, he will be coming on this trip with us. Let's face it, after 23 years romantic is when he brings me a coke when he gets one for himself :lmao:.

Then there is me
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%202009/Photo_021209_006-1.jpg
Dana. I am as much a Disney fanatic as Dale is a sports fanatic. I love anything and everything Disney. I just bought all the Disney bathroom stuff and redid my bathroom :rolleyes1.

We were just at Disney last month and it was a rain out. Kinda like a baseball game. The difference being when they cover the field in baseball it really does something, when it is pouring buckets of rain, the ponchos are basically useless :sad2:.

We will be there September 26-October 3. I am getting excited about this trip now. I have got to come up with places for us to eat. I have a very picky crew.

Can't wait to read more!!! I'm enjoying you TR and enjoyed your May TR, also can't wait to read how the free dining goes... hopefully one of these days I can convince dh to go during that time!!!

Thank you and thanks for coming over here. We were on the DDP last May but it wasn't free. The first time I went to Disney it was the end of September first of October. There was only 2 parks then, MK and Epcot, it was 1986, wow that was along time ago.

Congrats on 22 years Dana. Hope your trip is great. My wife and I will be there Sept25-Oct3 celebrating our 30th anniversary. We are using the free dining plan. This is our 11th trip to WDW but first time on the dining plan.

When they offered free dining again this year I really wanted to go back. I was surprised to see that it was extended into October this year which really makes it great because it is a little cooler at the end of September into October. When I originally made the reservations I reserved Pop for the first week in October starting on October 2nd since the free dining plan went thru October 3rd and if you book your package before the special ends you get the special for the whole time. Anyway, Dale comes home and tells me that he couldn't take that week off because someone else had already asked for that time :scared1:. So I called and changed our dates to September 28-October 3rd. No big deal. I am a nurse and work every other weekend and September 26 and 27 fall on my weekend to work. If we want the weekend off we have to get someone to work for us. Well, I have a good friend who said she will work for me :dance3::woohoo::yay:. In fact she is at Disney this week, she left last Thursday and will be back Friday. We wanted a preferred room location since we were going to be on the DDP but Pop did not have any, so change it again. I changed it to ASMo. When I found out someone could work for me I called back and ASMo only had preferred rooms and we will have a car sooooooooooooooo change it again. Now we are in the ASSp in a standard room for 7 nights. We will leave early Saturday, September 26 and drive down. We have APs so we won't lose any time on our tickets.

Now I am doing the countdown to the day I can call and make my ADRs with the 90+10. I am at 17 days before I can call. So far I know we will be trying to get into the following.

The Plaza
Tony's Town Square
Le Cellier

We will do a character breakfast or dinner somewhere not sure yet. I know that it will not be CM. I am thinking about just paying for Dallas' food OOP because he is so picky he will want to order off the kids menu.

Has anyone heard anything about the on line reservation system for ADRs? I thought it was suppose to be up by now?

So, this is where we are right now if you read my last 2 PTRs you know this is not carved in stone :lmao:.

WOW, congrats on 30 years. I hope you have a great trip too. Make sure you are ready to call and make your ADRs at your 90+10 mark. This is our first time for free dining, we paid for the DDP last May.

Sing this to the tune of the old Hee Haw song "Where oh where"

Where oh where are the September hours
How can they leave my planning undone
I searched the site over and thought I had found 'em
by the time they announce 'em all the ADRs'll be gone

Ok, very corney :rolleyes1 I know, but I want to make my ADRs in 16 days. I am holding my breath that I can get some of the good ones. I want CG and Le Cellier for sure. I chatted with a CM on line today and Artimus said he didn't know when the on line ADR page will be ready.

So I sit and I wait :surfweb: and I twittle my thumbs.

I thinking waiting for hours and waiting to make adr's are the most taunting parts of planning... it's so close, but so far away!!!

I thinking waiting for hours and waiting to make adr's are the most taunting parts of planning... it's so close, but so far away!!!

It does get very frustrating :headache:. With it being during free dining I know it is going to be hard to get ADRs, but I will be on the phone at 7am in 16 days. I will just wing it and make the ADRs since we have APs we can park hop so that isn't really a big deal, it just helps so I will know what we are going to be doing each day.

I have decided we will eat at Narcoossee's for our siggie because Dale will eat steak or lobster. And they have grilled cheese on the kid's menu. I know we will be paying for most of Dallas' food oop at the TS places because he will only eat off the kids menu. We will be able to eat at more than one signature restaurant so we may do CRT because I want to eat in the castle. I wish my guys would eat more of a variety of foods, but oh well, I have to make the ADRs around them.

racefanof88
06-05-2009, 03:21 PM
:woohoo: September hours are out. I now have a list of places to run by Dale. I will print out the menus so he can see what is on them and let me know which places he definitely wants to eat. Here is the list........

For our character breakfast I want to eat at one of these
Crystal Palace
CRT
Cape May
'Ohana
Hollywood and Vine
Tusker House
Boma
1900 PF

Table service ideas
Turf Club
Le Cellier
The Plaza
Tony's
The Wave
The GF Café
Olivia's
Whispering Canyon
Capitan's Grille

Signature ideas
Narcoosee's
Cali Grill
Yachtsman

Now I would love any and all ideas on these places. We have eaten at CP, Plaza, Tony's and Le Cellier, so we know they are good. I really want to try something new this time. I have 13 days before my 90 + 10 mark :woohoo:.

We've only done the ones in green.

Ohana breakfast was great. Easily the most fun character meal we've ever done, because Stitch was so perfectly Stitch and even my "too cool" 11yo loves him!

The Plaza is fabulous, especially for pickier eaters, but you know that since you've been there. I still dream about their brownie sundae!

Of the 3 signatures you have listed, I think Narcoosees and Yachtsman would be best for pickier eaters.

California Grill has a fairly basic steak option, but the rest of the menu is pretty creative and seasonal, so there might not be much for a picky eater to choose from. It was my favorite signature dinner, but that was largely for the sushi - not something that would appeal to the unadventurous!

Narcoosees has basic lobster, filet, and surf & turf, and was my meat-and-potatoes DH's favorite meal of our entire trip. Personally, I'd go back for the cheesecake alone! Not that my meal was disappointing - it was quite good - but I  cheesecake and their almond crusted cheesecake is one of the best I've ever had.

Yachtsman was very good as well, but very much like nice steakhouses anywhere and not as "Disney" as CG and Narcoosees with their castle views. We enjoyed it, but I don't think we'll be back for a while because it just didn't have anything that made it stand out and there are so many other places I'd like to try.

:thanks: Thanks for the advice :thumbsup2. I printed out the menus for DH..........:lmao:. I think it is going to be Narcoossees because of the menu and the view. My DH won't try anything new so that kinda pushes CG way to the outside. And anyway, the cheesecake sounds great.

If your 11 yo liked Ohana then mine will too. I think it would be a lot more fun that the basic CM or CP. I don't think he would be real thrilled with 1900 PF. I LOVED The Plaza, I think it was my favorite last year. I had the chicken strawberry salad and it was so good. I can't remember what I had for dessert though. Tony's was good too.

Doesn't it feel like September is 100 years away? I keep looking at my countdown calendar and it isn't moving :sad2:.

It really does. For some reason, the waiting is worse for me this year than it ever had been in the past... Probably has something to do with living in limbo right now and not being able to channel my energy into other things. I'm hoping that once we move the time will fly by because I'll be so busy digging new gardens and decorating pretty much the entire house.

Getting settled into a new house will take up a lot of your time. I would love to have a beautiful flower garden, but I am not a gardener. I have a hard time keeping hardy plants from dying :sad2:. You know things like kudzu and poison ivy :lmao:.

I've got a pretty good instinct for it outdoors. Over the last few years I've worked my way up to growing about half the produce my family needs in raised veggie beds, and with the new lot, I'm adding a mini-orchard and cottage-style cutting gardens in the front yard almost to the exclusion of lawn. Houseplants, though? You name it, I've killed it. :rotfl:

Wow, my sister grows all the fresh veggies I can get. I love fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, yum. She brought an ear of sweet corn to work today and cooked it in the microwave with the husks still on for 3 minutes and OHHHH MYYY it was soooo good. I didn't even know you could do that :confused3. My mother has always had a green thumb and been able to grow anything indoors or out. I guess it skipped me........:sad2:.

I called today and changed our ressies AGAIN. I know they are getting tired of me :rolleyes1. I changed us back to Pop. I'm glad that you got Pop. My BFF will be staying there when we go. We are going to be at POR because there are five of us, and we didn't want to book two rooms this time. Otherwise we would have been at POP too. ;)

I love how sweet the CMs can be. Then there are times they are just way off base and don't have a clue. I have changed this ressie way too many times.............:lmao:. I started at Pop, then to Movies, then to Music because I added 2 days, then to Sports now back to Pop........:guilty:. We have never stayed at Pop and are really looking forward to it. We have stayed at Movies, Music, POR and FW Cabins. I can't wait till we get there.

I think I will add Big River Brewing Co. to my list of possible ADRs along with Beaches and Cream. We have never eaten there and I really think they would be fun especially since they are on the DDP. ESPN looks good too. I want to try new places.

sounds like a GREAT idea!!! I'm just glad with my busy schedule that the DU lady calls for me. That's been a God-send!! I've heard horror stories and stuff and didn't want to be on the phone all dang day! Plus, I'm very surprised that ma or Tina doesn't want anything changed! I don't either, even after park hours have come out. I tell ya tho, it's one thing planning a small quick trip for people who don't care, and just follow ya, another thing planning a bigger trip for people who constantly keep you under a microscope!! But, it's working out, or so they're letting me think....hmmmm

Hey! I didn't realize you had already started this PTR!! YAY!:cool1:

You've got some great places on your ADR list! I think you guys will enjoy Narcossee's! YUM!!

Oh and as far as paying OOP for Dallas, I'm pretty sure that an adult on the DDP can order from the kids menu, but not the other way around. A kid can't order off the adult menu.

Can't wait to read more!

I looked over my schedule and I am actually off on June 28th. I will be up bright and early calling Disney. I think the only place I want that will be difficult is Le Cellier. I don't think Big River even takes ADRs. I could be wrong. I still have to wait for the October hours to come out though. It sounds like it is working out. From what you have said about your sister, I don't think she would just let you think you were working it out :rotfl:.

So Narcossee's it good? I really think it will be a good place. I love lobster and steak.

Amanda was able to order off the kids menu last May at The Plaza, they brought her two grilled cheese sandwiches :lmao:. I was concerned since it was free dining they would be more strict. I found out that I can use my TIW card to get the 20% discount on appys and adult beverages along with using the free dining.

I love seeing the little baby ticker on your page :thumbsup2.

Hi Dana! I found you Yay!!!

:woohoo: Leanne is here too :yay:. I am so glad you are here to help me plan my September trip .

I have been having serious withdrawls from the Dis. When I got home from work last night it was down :scared1:. Today we went to Pensacola and did some shopping and I am just now getting on here.

racefanof88
06-13-2009, 08:31 PM
So today while we were shopping I bought me two new skorts. After having one during our May trip I have come to love them. I now have 4. They are so comfortable and I think they are really cute too. I also found Dallas and me 3 Pensacola shirts. The two I got for Dallas have POC type designs and mine has beach chairs. They had some good founder year shirts, but I couldn't find our size. Pensacola was settled by the Spaniard in 1559. They are celebrating their 450th anniversary.

I think we have decided to drive our Mazda 3 on the trip instead of renting a car. Dale and I took it on our 2 Daytona trips in 2005. Since it is only going to be Dale, Dallas and I it should be fine.

We decided today we will eat at Big River Grille and I am leaning toward ESPN Club too. My Dis friend Janet said the BRG is good and Dale thinks the beer sampler is great for sure :thumbsup2. Has anyone eaten at ESPN? I think I want to eat there. Being married to such a big sports fan I have no option but to like sports and I like the over the top type decor. I LOVED Race Rock restaurant on International Blvd. It broke my heart when it closed. Now the only racing type restaurant in Orlando is NASCAR Café at US City Walk. They have decent food, but the atmosphere at Race Rock was so much better.

I remember race rock cafe, we ate there once while being evacuated from a hurricane when we lived in the keys!! I haven't been to the one at city walk! Next time ya'll come to daytona, let me know...I was born there, and raised near there....I know daytona pretty well....even tho it has changed quite a bit. I went and activated my US passes today....man that place sure ain't disney!!! It's SOOOO small!! Tyler and I walked around, IOA and rode a couple of coasters, and I was surprised when I was back at the entrance! So, we left there, wen to the disney outlet store, Tyler found a toy there, I couldn't find anything, so we went to Fl mall to the disney store there, and I found a couple of shirts on sale. Gotta start somewhere buying stuff for september, I didn't get too much new for may, since it was just a quick trip! Tomorrow...I kick Tyler out to play outside, and I clean....YUK!!!! But, it's gotta get done, and the dogs sure won't do it!! HAHA

I couldn't believe when I heard that Race Rock closed! The guy who owned that place used to have the same kind of restaurant up here, and I was so sad to see him move to Florida. On my very first Disney trip, back when I was a teenager, we had to make a special trip over for dinner at Race Rock. That place was great! I haven't checked out the NASCAR Cafe yet, but it would be hard to measure up to Race Rock.

We really liked ESPN Club. The food isn't fancy, but it is good sports bar food and the decor is really cool. DS took so long going to the bathroom that I sent DH looking for him, and then they were both gone for another 10min or so... What were they doing? Checking out each and every piece of memorabilia hanging in the hall by the bathroom, of course. :rotfl:

That is how I feel about US/IOA. I do like to walk around City Walk though. I am waiting for Coke Rewards to offer the US ticket again so I can get that free. I don't want to buy 3 tickets though. Although they do have good deals on their tickets. I like that you can get the tickets and pay for them monthly too. I really loved Race Rock. It was so cool with the racing suits in the cases and the hanging. NASCAR Cafe was pretty good. When Dale and I were there in '05 we went in the bar area and got a beer. I will defiantly let you know next time we are over at Daytona. Now that we have APs we may try to do to Disney during the 500 next year. I think I have some pictures on my Myspace page from the July race. It was sooooooooooooooooooooo hot.

:rotfl:

:lmao: about your son and DH disappearing. That is what happened to me at Race Rock. My DH went to the bathroom and I too though he was lost. I miss RR :sad2:.

I finally made it over...
will read and catch up later...signing on for the moment...
We are moving Gwendolyn and Joe in to our house:eek:
he just purchased a very small house and 23 acres...it needs lots of work
(it really needs a whole new house:rotfl:) and its in the swamps so it needs to be lifted like 8 feet in the air...I think they will be here forever:confused:

Alrightie, gonna finish my stuff up, and add the bbq, chris is still camping, and tyler went outside to play...so I got some time before dinner!! DSIS wanted me to get a badge for her on pogo....so logged in there for her and just finished it. I guess this is what too much free time is LOL

Ya know, I've lived in this area for a while, and growing up, and I've NEVER been to a race! Can you believe that? We actually know better then to go near the track during that time of the year LOL My brother's boy scouts work a booth there, but I've never helped....maybe I will offer my help next year, it'll be nice to see a race just once. I've HEARD the cars. I guess it's another thing about living here we take for granted....but, the shuttle going up NEVER gets old!! LOL

:lmao: at "it really needs a whole new house". So he bought 23 acres of swamp land?

It has been so hot here that there is no way I could camp. I can't wait to see the pictures of the bbq. I use to have a pogo account and I played on there all the time. I stopped it because I got tired of the games.

It is fun going to the races. The problem with the track at Daytona is they don't have enough bathrooms :scared1:. And they don't have parking. When we went to the February race we had to park at the Mall and walk to the track. Then when we went to the July race we came in on the back roads and parked in a swamp. We were bused to the track. It was horrible. I love NASCAR it is so much fun to watch the race. I don't guess I won't get to see the shuttle go up since they are about to stop sending them.

I want to leave about 5am on 9/26 and get to Pop about 1 or 2pm. I think we are going to make it a resort day and just hang out by the pool and eat at the food court. Eating at the food court will give us the extra TS credit we will need to eat at Narcoossees. Dale is not being very helpful in choosing TS restaurants so I am just going to decide and make the ADRs and he will eat something, or he won't :rolleyes1. I have even printed out the menus so he could help me plan and he won't even look at them :sad2:. Dallas loves to help me with the planning so I will hand him the menus. I'm glad I didn't ask for a preferred room, after reading on the Pop thread that it really isn't that much further from the standard rooms to the pool or food court. I really think it is going to be fun staying at Pop. I hope so anyway because if it isn't I will never hear the end of it :rolleyes1.

Ok! all caught up!! Danny was like that when I was trying to find CS meals before we left. Next, time I will just choose and make the ADR's and he can like it or not!:lmao: Dayne is the pickiest one in the house so if he comes than I need to rethink ADR's or just let him find a burger!!:rotfl:

Like your ideas so far...the only place I would like to try that I did not see was Tutto's (???). I'm of no help w/ressie's we have not ever gone w/food as our target (being from New Orleans--when ever we travel we do not expect much:confused3).

Joe bought 23 acres just (very very close) North of Lake Ponchatrain. About 8 miles south of us. But, for every mile you put between us & the lake the land goes up. We are about 2 feet above sea level  and we built our house another 4 ft up (but, we built up the foundation/not stilts). Where Joe's house is only needs to be raised 3 feet to be 5 feet above sea level but being that close to the lake everyone (who told him not to buy) is telling him while he goes up go up 8 feet.

Can't wait to hear what ya'll think of POP (noise levels and decor). ASSp was kinda on the loud side--the rooms were great, but the landscaping needed a little help; but, to be fair they were painting and pruning on our last two days. Just not as nice as POFQ (grounds and pool--but, that is value compared to moderate).

Can't wait to follow along... still trying to decide WHEN we want to go back next year...I can't wait for next years calendar to come out w/their suggestions. I will be in the fall, I do know that...

I'm sorry just realized I'm rambling about everything...that is what happens when you are stuck in the house w/a two year old for a week...:lmao::rotfl2:
Danny spent the day yesterday w/a friend and worked in the yard today...I finally took Ashton out this afternoon but did not want him to get too hot or sweaty...there I go again...I'm signing off check in with you later:flower3:

I wish our drive to WDW was that short. It takes us between 14 and 16 hours depending on weather and traffic. But, we do break it down into two driving days so it's not that bad going. Coming home, we drive the entire way!

Every year, I print out menus to some of the Disney restaurants and give them to my husband, John, to look over. He always says "I hate doing this." Our son, Hunter, is a totally different story. He'll grab up those menus and help me decide. I don't know why Hunter is all gung-ho about the menus since all he eats is pizza, burgers, chicken strips, hot dogs and fries. :rotfl:

John won't make the decisions, he'll just say "this one sounds okay" or "I might like somethiing from here." Once I have it down to just a few, I do the final decision making. I don't know why I even ask him. Yes, I do. Because if we end up at someplace like Rose & Crown (you know the story from my trip report), then it's not all my fault when it's yucky.

23 acres is a lot of property to have to take care of. I like my little yard and we don't even have to do the yard work........:lmao:.

From everything I read about Pop on here it is a good place to stay. I am ready to get back down there. It is so hot here right now it takes your breath away just to walk outside, so I am hoping we will be on the cooler side in September. We usually run about the same as Orlando. Today it is 93 but feels like 96 in Orlando and we are 92, feels like 96 here.

I am glad to hear that Ashton is doing so well. Kids are really resilient and bounce back much better than us ummmmmm not so younguns............:lmao:
You were not rambling either. I know you are so relieved that Ashton is doing good and the surgery is over. I get giddy when I have been under pressure and it finally lifts. I think it is just the adrenaline rush for coming through.

I read in your TR that it takes y'all that long to drive :scared1:. I am about to crawl out of my skin with it taking us 8-9 hours. I use to sleep as much as I could to make the time pass, but now I am too nervous to sleep. Dale's driving scares me sometimes . and of course I have to stay awake to yell at him :lmao:.

What is it about men?:sad2::rolleyes1. I like to try new foods, but I like to have a decent idea of what is on the menu. I have noticed that Disney really doesn't do fried shrimp or fried crab claws. I love raw oysters too, but I totally understand why they don't serve them. I am making myself hungry for a big ole plate of seafood now .

Dale won't make a decision either because then he would have to take the blame if it isn't good :guilty:. I was worried about Le Cellier but that was fine so I am just going to make the ADRs and Dale will just have to deal with it. In 13 days I can make all my ADRs so I am looking forward to that. I am hoping the on line ADR system is up and running by then :goodvibes.

I can't believe they have extended booking time on free dining. I guess that says they did not sell as many rooms as they wanted. Maybe that means I will be able to get my ADRs. I don't know if I really want the on line ADR system up before I make my ADRs or not. I know how many glitches a new system has and I don't want to show up at a restaurant and the system didn't make the ressie :scared1:. I have got to get to Home Depot and get some more Mouse heads for our countdown. Some of them from my May countdown calendar got lost :sad2:. I think I am going to do the Mouse heads on the door this time. I think that would be fun. For those who did the MH on a door before what did you use as an adhesive? I was thinking of tape, but if you know something better I would love to know . I have metal doors so tape won't pull the paint off.

Well, it looks like the released the on line ADR booking today. Now, I will be up at the crack of dawn on June 28th to make sure we get in where we what to eat. I am so hoping this new system is not going to be a bust. I DO NOT want to show up at a restaurant only to be told they don't have an ADR scheduled for me :sad2:. Dale would never let me live that one down :rolleyes1.

I am hoping all goes well with this and it is easy to make ADRs. I hope the system doesn't let people make multiple ressies for different restaurants at the same time and lock up open slots :sad2:.

I am getting excited about our trip. I really want to see Disney at Christmas too so I am looking for something cheap for mid December. I have stayed at some really inexpensive hotels in Orlando and it was OK because I usually spend most of my time in the parks.

the townhouse was clean and in a gated community
w/the magicard it was only $72 a night for a king bed, a queen bed, and 2 twins, w/a sofa sleeper and 2 baths. It was not that far out of the way and chicagoshannon has found what looks like a great condo not sure on the cost???

I have never stayed in a house though, but that would be really nice since we would have a pool :thumbsup2. What I really want to do is plan a big Disney trip with family and friends and just have a good ole Southern cook out, shrimp boil, fish fry, type deal. Just wanted to let you know how easy it was to book online ADRs. I decided yesterday to check it out.

I needed a back up reservation for our luau night. The Disney dining castmember actually suggested that I have a backup and to cancel the backup ADR if it the luau didn't get rained out.

When I booked our ADRs (on the phone) a while back, they couldn't book an ADR for Planet Hollywood for our two kids (ages 22 and 12). My husband and I are eating at the Grand Floridan Cafe for our anniversary dinner (which the castmember booked) and our kids wanted to go to Planet Hollywood to let us have a date night. The Disney dining castmember said she couldn't book Planet Hollywood because she would be "double booking". Anyway, I was able to get an online Planet Hollywood ADR on 8/10/09 at the exact same time as we are booked for the Grand Floridian Cafe.

It was easy as pie to navigate the online ADR system. And that's coming from someone who is definitely not computer savy.

Maybe the online thingie won't be too bad. Our DU lady made all of ours, got all that we wanted, and within good times, all are within 20 minutes, and match pretty good with the park plan too. Thank GOD, my SISTER wouldn't let me live it down if I did a big boo boo!! LOL

That is great to hear. I went on and played around with it and I do like that it offers alternate restaurants and gives more than one time slot. Of course I couldn't book anything yet because my 90 + 10 is not until June 28th. Do you know if it opens up the whole 100 days? I guess it would though. I read on another board that they made their ADRs on line and called to confirm and they were not showing up in Disney's system. I am going to call as soon as I book mine just to make sure they went through.

I have GFC on my short list, but PH is out of the question. We didn't care for it last year and they were selective about what type desserts you could order if on the DDP.

I noticed, after I had made one online ADR that the Disney site said if you log in before making your reservations, you could come back later and view them online. Since mine are just "backup" reservations (with the exception of Planet Hollywood), I haven't gone back and looked to see if they come up on my vacation information yet.

I have never eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe but I have seen pictures of the food over on the Disney Food Pictures thread and it looked quite good. The reviews haven't been too hard on the food or service. We figured the only time we'd get over to the Grand Floridian was by eating there. I sure can't afford the resort room prices.

Planet Hollywood is one of our kids' favorites. The lasagna is to die for.

He is a picture of Niko. Dale's baby that will NOT be going with us in September. He really showed his butt in May while at the Disney kennel. I swear that dog was being such a brat. We would put his food in the kennel with him and he would take his nose and turn it over :scared1:. I had to feed the dog BY HAND while we were there. This is the picture I took of him on the way home after I told him we were going home.

OMG he's too cute!!! I swear these dogs have such attitude sometimes, I know mine does!!! It may be a weiner dog thing tho!! I'm uploading universal pics now, didn't take too many, spent half the day dripping wet...by choice this time!! :lmao: So I'll post those in one of my TR, I'll do the photopass ones in the May TR, so you can pop in there and see. We only got 9 pictures taken, cause of the rain. That share was wonderful!! $21 and I made the 9 pictures into 22. So not too bad I guess. And, I can print them and save them, etc. I'm gonna do one of my dad and DSM and frame it, a big one. Even tho Dad looked kinda weird. He had a toothache that first day, so half his face was sagging a little bit LOL But they still turned out good!!

He does have attitude. I guess that is what makes him special though. Friday night, when Amanda got home, a beagle followed her to our front door. He was sooooooooooo cute, I love hounds, but anyway Niko went CRAZY. You would have thought the dog came in the house and ate his food.....:lmao:

I am glad it was "wet by choice". I bet y'all had a good time. I am sure it was HOT. We have been having record heat here and we have been staying in the house. I want to go to the beach next weekend when I'm off, but Dale won't go for that. I may wait and see if he wants to go on July 11th because the Blue Angels will be in town and having their air show.

I just love your pp pictures and you sure can't beat $21. I can tell your dad doesn't feel good. I can sympathize with him. I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled last year and I thought I would die before I could get to the dentists.

I found some cool graphics today and decided to print them out for my countdown calendar.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/minniemouse.gif

I am going to buy some glitter tomorrow so we can make them sparkle and then we will hang them. I still have some of my Mouse heads from May and we will fill in with them. I have 75 of the graphics and I have more than enough of the mouse heads to fill the void. I ordered two skorts from Walmart Friday. I have come to totally love those things.

I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow and I am not looking forward to that. The high for tomorrow is forecast to be over 100 degrees, so I guess I need to get up early to go shopping. I started using coupons a while back and I am really getting into the whole coupon thing. Target usually has some really good deals with the coupons as they have their own coupons and they can be combined with the manufactures coupons. Anyway I know I am rambling on so I will hush. Good Night to all and one last Happy Father's Day to all the Dads.

Cute pictures!! your countdown calendar is going to shine; that should help get you back in the mood!!;)

We are under a heat advisory for the entire area. Seen ya'll were in it too! I gave Danny one of those cool neck ties and "Be Kool" fever pads but he did not take them. What are you suppose to do; I can see Dayne saying something like that "trying to be cool". I really need to learn to use coupons; my problem is I buy a lot of store brands (started doing that when I use to homeschool--to save money) and our Target is not super so I rarely go there. Glad you found some skorts I had bought one for our disney trip and loved it.

I am trying to put together a long weekend to Florida for the end of July--Danny really wants to go to the beach (he has severe psorasis and the salt water really helps)I just hope they don't have a jellyfish bloom before we get the chance to get it together.

I totally agree with you on the skorts. I love them because they look a little bit dressier than just shorts. I have two already and am thinking about more. The only problem I have is I can't find them with pockets and I need pockets. I'll have to look at WalMart and see what they have.

Dallas and I are going to work on the countdown calendar tomorrow. I am totally give out today. It was soooooooo hot out shopping I though I was in an oven. Now I know how the Thanksgiving turkey feels............:lmao: I think putting the calendar up will help with the blahs.

I worry about Dale out in the heat too. I try to remind him to drink lots of water and Gatorade. Amanda is an orientation leader at South Alabama and they had a group of incoming freshmen to orient today and I warned her to be very careful too. Here is her pic from the USA web site.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/awhatleyorientationleader.jpg

OK so I had to be a proud Mom for a minute.

Where do y'all stay when you go to Florida? Do y'all go to Pensacola beach? Even though we have Gulf Shores we always to to P'cola because they have built so many condos at GS it is almost impossible to go there anymore. They were flying the purple flags two weeks ago because of jellies. I haven't heard if they are bad this week or not. Just make sure you pack you some meat tenderizer and vinegar.

I did pretty good today with my coupons. I saved $48+ dollars at Target alone and got a $5 gift card. I also went to Walgreen's and CVS. I got 9 12 packs of drinks between the two places............:lmao:. But hey I got all 9 for $20 and they will not go bad :thumbsup2.

The skort I wore today was bought at Sam's and it has pockets. It was the first one I had. It is the one that got me hooked while we were at Disney. I think it is a hit and miss proposition at Walmart or it depends on the Walmart you shop at. I got two from the Walmart in Pensacola but my Walmart doesn't carry them. I can't wait for the two I ordered to arrive.

My sister just found some cute ones over the weekend at Target. Good Luck!

I didn't look today at Target dang it. I will have to look next time though. With the two I ordered I will have a total of 6.

I have decided where I will make our ADRs. Dale and Dallas will just have to live with it since they didn't want to help :sad2:.

Here is the list.

Tony's
Big River Grille
Narcoossee's for our anniversary dinner
Tusker House for character breakfast
Grand Floridian Cafe dinner and then MNSSHP, either Sept 29th or Oct 1
Le Cellier for lunch.

The days are not set yet because I want to see what I can get when I sit down Sunday morning. The first one I will try for is Le Cellier as it seems to be the one that is hardest to get. I know they don't take ADRs for Big River so that will just be a walk up.

I would love some feedback :thumbsup2.

Can't wait for a report now on Tusker House ch breakfast; (as I said before I am of no help yet in this arena--next time) so now I'll be waiting for your POP and Tusker House report:laughing:

GEAUX TIGERS!!!! won the first round tonight!!!! don't usually follow baseball but watched tonight and the last game===nail bitters!!!

My sister's girls came spend the week (from GA) this week so we had a friend of mine come take pics (she is a pro) tonight so I missed the first 5 innings but they made up for it w/the last 2

Oh! we always go to Ft. Walton, I have only stopped in Gulf Shores at least 22 years ago and July 4th will be 23 years since we've been to Pensacola. We went to Destin on our honeymoon and later found a cheap condotel in Ft Walton (no longer there) but try to go EVERY year sometimes twice since. But, we don't go if we know the jellies are bad; Danny goes for the gulf and it does not pay to go if you can't get in. Last year we saw a black tip shark swim about 5 yds off the beach so if I hit the pool w/Ashton I'm happy

I have wanted to try Tusker House since it became a character breakfast, but Dale hasn't want to. Well, tough he should have helped me with the planning. They have waffles and bacon so he will be fine...........:lmao:.

I bet y'all are having a good time with your nieces. Almost all of my nieces and nephews are grown with children of their own. I loved summer when they would come and spend some time with me and my Mom.

Ft. Walton beach is nice too. We go there once in a while. Now that they have repaired the road that washed away with hurricanes Ivan and Dennis you can drive from Pensacola beach to Navarre and it is a beautiful drive. I want to go see the Blue's on July 11th but this heat is just too unbearable. I will have to wait until the November show.

Oh and congrats on the win last night.

OMG dude we love the blue angels in our house too!! But, because we're near an AF base, all we get near here is the Thunderbirds....they're just NOT the same!! Unless of course we wanna drive to Jacksonville....which may not be too bad, just not sure when they're flying there. They came down to the Keys once when we lived in Key West, that was neat!! Of course we went and saw them there!! You're lucky you live near a place that shows them more often then other places!! I guess anywhere people live has it's pros and cons!!

They are too awesome :thumbsup2. Since they are stationed in Pensacola we can actually go watch practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8:30 in the morning. If is wasn't so freaking hot right now I would be there every other week. They hold an autograph session after the Wednesday practices. It is fun to go to the NNA Museum too. They have simulators, walk throughs, old planes(inside and out) an IMAX. It is really a great place to visit. The Blues will be at Jacksonville Beach November 7th and 8th.

:cutie:I just had to share...I just heard THUNDER does it mean we will get some rain??? (doubt it) it is currently storming about 7 mi to our west. But, the temps for 2morrrow is forcasted to be 103 THAT IS THE ACTUAL TEMP. I55 is actually buckeling today from the heat and we were w/o power for 1.5 hr today from the heat:scared:... I turned on the weather channel to see what was going on w/the clouds (our temp just fell to 89 according to them--I bet the dogs are happy).

anyway, I see ya'll are as hot as us... so maybe we should limit our dancing to early in the AM and late PM and just do some woohooing in the middle of the day :rotfl2:so as to not get heat stroke...

the only place we should all be is sitting at the beach in a pool or the gulf...:beach:
it is actually cooler in WDW than here...maybe we should all go back there:laughing:

Hey I have to agree, woooohooooos are in and dancing is out . It's too hot to even laugh hard. They had a vet on the news last night talking about how to take care of your pets in this heat. Of course Niko is an inside dog .

There are a few rain showers on the Eastern Shore but some strong storms in Pensacola area and Daupin Island. Over 200 lightening strikes :scared1:. I wish it would rain here. I can't believe I would even say that after Disney.

I think my A/C just took a breath. It is 97 now..........lol. But the heat index is still 100. We beat a record for the high today it was 101 today and it was 100 in 1881. I need to finish my laundry, but I am going to wait until later to turn the dryer on :laundy:. I thought we lived in the South, NOT South Hades.

I wish I was pool side AT Disney right now.

OK, so here is the dilemma. I have got to decide on another restaurant or two. I have been reading some reviews of Narcoossee's and they are not the most favorable. I don't want to have a check for over $300-$400 dollars and the food and service not be good. I know it is free dining but it is the principle. Dale just isn't much on this type of restaurant anyway and I really want our anniversary dinner to be nice. SO here is the list I have compiled

The Wave(lunch)
O'hana (dinner)
The Plaza (lunch or dinner)
Coral Reef (dinner)
Garden Grill (dinner)
Sci-Fi(dinner)
Captain's Grille(lunch or dinner)
ESPN(lunch or dinner)

That way we will have some backups too. I like the idea of staying right around the parks or on the monorail route. We will leave but it just makes it easier. We are going to eat at Big River Grille so we will have to leave the parks for that. I just think it makes the DDP easier if we eat where we are. I know I am not making any sense:rolleyes1. I have just been thinking I would rather have 2 dinners for the price of one.

Dana, You are totally making sense to me. I plan the same way. I have Ohana booked as my backup in case the luau gets rained out. I don't think I've heard anything really bad about Ohana and I want to check out the Polynesian too.

We've eaten at the Plaza before and it wasn't anything really special. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad at all. It's just that I didn't feel we got our money's worth since we were on the dining plan.

On our Magic Kingdom days, we are going to Chef Mickey's for dinner on day one and on day two we are going to Whispering Canyon. Never tried either of these but hope they'll be okay since they are in close proximity to Magic Kingdom.

We have eaten at Coral Reef and at Garden Grill. The kids really like Garden Grill and it's a good solid meal that everyone enjoys. It doesn't hurt that it has characters either. John and I had a fantastic meal at Coral Reef. Hunter ordered the pizza and said it was good.

Sci Fi is our favorite Hollywood Studios restaurant. We have eaten dinner there three years in a row and haven't had a bad meal yet. Love the atmosphere.

Sorry, but I can't help you out with Captain's Grille or ESPN as we haven't tried either of these yet.

You've got quite a lot of noisy restaurants there! We've been to Ohana, The Plaza, Coral Reef, Sci-fi and ESPN, and of those, Coral Reef is the only one I'd consider for an anniversary dinner (assuming you want something at least a little romantic). The Plaza has good food, but a very casual cafe atmosphere. Sci-fi is really cool, but the seating in the cars makes conversation a little difficult. ESPN was cool too, but loud. And Ohana with the kids' activities can just be nuts.

The Wave or Captain's Grill would probably be good, since the non-character, non-themed resort restaurants tend to be a little quieter. Not on your list, but one we really enjoyed was Kona at the Poly - the food and service have been good both times we've been there, and while it isn't really quiet because it is open to the Poly lobby, it is quiet by Disney 1TS standards, you know? And for a little extra romance, if you time your reservation right you can walk down to the beach to watch Wishes after dinner.

I'm glad I am making sense. It is tough making all the plans knowing I am going to be responsible if it all goes downhill........:sad2:.

I want to try O'hana just because I love going to the Poly and Dallas likes Stitch so that would be fun. The food on the menu is iffy with my picky guys, but I think Dale could eat the steak and 'taters.

We liked the Plaza last year, but you are right it was not over the top great. The strawberry chicken salad was really good. We have never had dinner at Chef Mickey's but I was so disappointed when we went for breakfast last month I am not in a hurry to go back.

I have always wanted to eat at Coral Reef so we could see the divers, and if they have pizza we would be just fine. Dallas is going to be ordering off the kids menu anyway even though he will be on the adult plan.

We really like Sci Fi, but we have never eaten dinner there, and with there being 3 of us one of us would have to sit alone.

I liked Kona last year, but Dale said it reminded him of Woolworth's........:lmao: I may still sneak that one in on him because Dallas loved the Kona Kone. And that is a great idea about Wishes, Thanks. I hadn't really thought about that. Captain's Grille looks like it would be about the same as Narcoossee's, but not nearly as expensive and it has better reviews. I think we are going to do MNSSHP on Sept 29th and I want to eat at Grand Floridian Cafe that night. I swear until I can make my ADRs I feel like my planning is stagnant.

Hey! I'm checking back in. It has been hot today here in Alabama!! I also do like you and do my laundry at night. It does make a big difference in my house.

Out of the places that you have mentioned, I would choose either 'Ohana or Coral Reef. The Coral Reef may be a tad bit more romantic but 'Ohana might be more fun. We are going to be celebrating ours at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella & the Prince. (Don't laugh!!) Mainly because the kids will be with us and I love the setting there. What ever you choose to do, it will be fun and very special. It is what you make it. :goodvibes

and everyone always raves about Tony's

Good Luck!

I don't know if I would like Brown Derby. I know the Cobb salad is suppose to be great, but it doesn't look very appetizing to me. We ate at San Angel Inn in 2005 and I liked it, but of course Roger didn't........:lmao:. We are going to eat at Tony's for sure(well if I can get the ADR) they have some very good food there. I wonder if I could make an ADR there the night we go to MNSSHP? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Who else is going to MNSSHP? Is anybody going to wear a costume? I found a really cute Ariel costume but Dale does not want me to wear a costume. Has anybody done the face painting? What is the cost? That may be a option to a costume. Dallas says he wants me to wear a costume though.

:goodvibes

Glad to see you back :thumbsup2. Yes is was hot here today. I have been trying to keep the doors closed and stay inside but I do have to take poor Niko out and he looks at me like I am crazy when I ask him if he wants to go outside :rotfl2:. My poor grass is crunchy. My dryer is going right now as I finish my last load. I just quit last night because I was tired of laundry.

I'm not laughing, I thought about 1900 PF. Yeah the romantic thing is not so important because Dallas will be with us too. You are right, it will just be fun being together.

I really think the appeal of Narcoosees is mostly the lobster. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our meal there, but there's a big divide in how we'd review it based on what we ordered. DH & DS, who love lobster, would rank it as one of the best meals we've had at Disney, if not the absolute best. DD & I, who don't eat lobster, liked it but liked a couple other signature restaurants better.

I think that's the night we're going to MNSSHP too, but I won't buy tickets until my ADRs are made and I know we don't have to switch things up. I'm right there with you feeling like the planning is at a stand still until the ADRs are made. I don't even want to start working on park plans until we know that we're not going to be rearranging days and what time our breakfast/lunch ADRs are for.

We're going, but I'm not going to dress up. The kids will, but the girls are having some decision-making issues about what DD7 wants them to be... Right now, it'll either be Fairies (DD7 as Tink, DD1 as Fawn) or Princesses (DD7 as Cinderella or Aurora or Jasmine, she can't make up her mind, and DD1 as Ariel as a mermaid) or a Pirate League appointment for the big kids and <gasp> me being allowed to choose DD1's costume. :rotfl: They can't decide if they want to do the makeup of Pirates League in the heat or just go with the kind of lightweight costumes like Tink/Jasmine/Ariel that they can't really do in the cold here at home.

Hi all,
Sept seems like such a long way off, but short at the same time. It's just getting to be summer here in Mich. We just hit 90 for the first time. Winter lasted forever and it didn't seem like we had a spring. So, for me Sept can take it's sweet time because I know winter is right around the corner..Hee hee. We have always gone at Christmas time so this early fall trip will be a first.

I like lobster too, and you are not going to believe this, but Dale has never eaten lobster :scared1:. He just won't try new stuff. I'm waiting to buy my MNSSHP for the same reason. I don't want to be running around like crazy going from place to place.

If Dallas didn't want me to dress up I wouldn't. I may just do something simple that can be changed from regular clothing to costume. It is easier to find costumes for girls than for boys though. I don't know what Dallas will be because we don't want to do anything that is going to be too hot. I would love to do the First Mates package for Dallas, but I don't think he would like it. He doesn't sit still very well.....:rotfl2:

:welcome: Thanks for coming over here.

Yes, September does seem like a long time off. Especially knowing July and August are the hottest months here :scared1:. We have been under heat advisories all week so I am really looking forward to fall.

I want to go at Christmas time. I really want to see the decorations. We bought annual passes in May so we may take a long weekend around Christmas so we can see it.

Your trip is fast approaching :thumbsup2.

My DS is letting me off easy. He wants to by Wolverine. I can buy everything he needs at any KMart! :thumbsup2 I'll probably end up making the girls' costumes, depending on what DD7 chooses. If she wants a princess, I'll order her dress from the same place I got the Aurora dress for our last trip, because they're as good as home made in terms of quality and not terribly expensive. I'm pretty sure I'll have to make the baby's costume, just because it is hard to find the kinds of costumes we're planning in infant sizes, but one out of three isn't bad.

Hey Dana Congratulations on your 22nd anniversary! My husband and I have never been to Disney before and we are going to be going on September 28th 2009 until October 5 2009 we can not wait We are also celebrating our Anniversary but its only our 2nd but its going to be our Special one seeing We never got to have a honeymoon and also did nothing for our 1st Anniversary all due to money. My husband is a very picky eater also and I can not take it seeing that every menu I have looked at for a Sit down restaurant so far he wont eat anything on the menu. I am having a hard time finding a Romantic restaurant we can get dressed up and go to one evening.

He can order off the child's menu in any resturant; so that way you can enjoy the atmosphere of any place you would like to try...(Dana isn't that what Dallas plans to do???)
Congratulations! on your anniversary and finally being able to experience the magic!!!

Maybe Dallas will want something simple like that. I have been looking at some of the costume sites and they are really pricey. The first MNSSHP we went to in 1999 Tyler dressed like a surgeon. I may get some scrubs for Dallas and let him dress like that because scrubs are cool and lightweight.
I can't sew so making anything is out of the question.

I know you are happy about that. I swear it seems like the closer we get to paying off the trip the more I owe . Only $100 left and I have until August the 14th. I will pay it off in the next 2 weeks. Yes, I get to make my ADRs Sunday. I have been playing around with the on line thing and I don't know if it is because I am more than 90 days or what, but I can't seem to get it to let me go 90 + 10. If I can't I will be on the phone. I take my computer to work with me sometime and if we are not busy I will go on.

I finally made it over here. :wave2:

We've already talked ADRs, so my next questions is where in Pop are you hoping to stay? The more I look, I think I'd like to be in the 50's Lady, parking lot view (I'm hoping not too many people actually REQUEST that view, and I might have a better chance of getting that building). My next best would be lake view in Tramp. After that, 80's and 90's, but let's face it, a walkman and a laptop are not as cool as Lady and the Tramp.

Good luck Sunday, and remember, online ADRs roll over to the next day at 6 am est. I was done before those phone callers' even started dialing!

Gotta make your ADR's tomorrow, any last minute changes? Man, mine changed I don't know HOW many times. I'm happy with the end result tho, and so it Ma and Sis, so that's what counts, right? I'm lucky, Tyler will eat almost any kind of meat, Steak, Chicken, Pork, Hamburgers LOL Just not the side items, I usually make him TRY the other stuff tho....he's learned that he likes broccoli that way!! HAHA Anyways, better go hop in the shower....I'll try to take pictures today....we don't have Samantha, so it's just us 3 again!! Enjoy your saturday, hope the weather is good!

I have thought about the 50's and the 80's. Dallas likes the 80's. He wants to be near a pool. I have promised him a pool day since we didn't get one in May.

I have my alarm set for 5am so I can be up at my computer at 6am and awake and alert to make my ADRs. I am really hyped about it.

Here I am thinking I could possible get a discount on my upcoming vacation. So, I waited and debated on wither or not I should call. I just got off the phone with Disney and guess what? It would have ADDED $20 to my package :sad2:. Like I said, Just my luck. The CM asked me if I knew when I could make my ADRs and I told her yes, I would be on line at 6am. I asked her if the on line system was causing any problems and she said she had actually used it twice herself and found it to be easy and she didn't have a problem with it at all. So far this season I'm using this site:

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo_atl.shtml

The spot of interest has gone from yellow, to orange and back to yellow, so it should be ok for now.

We stopped at a Wendy's in Mobile on our way to Atlanta when we left for Gustav. We left with my parents and my dad was ready to turn back then, before it even made landfall. I don't know what his problem is. :confused3 Was I worried? HELL YEAH. We had 20 feet of water in our house for Katrina, but I'm not stupid. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen, and being there won't stop it. So we will watch and wait. Disney is paid off, so we will go, no matter what happens. Hoping for a nice quiet season.

That is a cute picture!! I know we need the rain too. My grass crunches under your feet as you walk. It rained at my house yesterday and today, for all of about 10 minutes. Just enough to make it REALLY hot when the sun came back out.

Yeah the early ones usually are just rain makers, but what worries me is when the season gets started too early it could mean some bad stuff later on.

Gosh, I can remember Camille it was late in the season to be only on C. Wow, what a night. Do you remember hurricane Elena in 1985? My first husband and I were in NO with our friends. We had such a great day that day. We went out on the President, I had my first O' Brien's Hurricane and we ate in the courtyard there. We went to the zoo.

This is a picture of that day. This is, or course me, and my friend Dee. See the storm clouds coming?
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/meanddeeinNOzoo.jpg

We stopped at the McDonalds in Slidell and we heard a State Trooper talking about the hurricane. It had turned on Friday and went back down the coast of Florida then it turned and came back that Sunday. We drove over 100mph back to Mobile from Slidell.

I know what you mean. We can't change what is going to happen. I think this is just a blip on the map. We know living here on the Gulf Coast we may have to face a hurricane. I don't like the idea of evacuations. As a nurse I really can't leave anyway unless I just happen to be off work. We left for Ivan and it was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE trying to get home. Now, don't get me wrong, NO is a place that needs to evacuate when a storm is on its way. I haven't been back to NO since before Katrina and I miss it. I spent my first honeymoon at the Days Inn on Canal Street. And my second one in the Supersome yelling "Who Dat?".......:lmao:.

Good morning, glad your ADR's are made, huge sigh of relief, right? HAHA We had fun yesterday, I feel like I've been run over by a truck tho....I wore my tennies instead of my flip flops. I think I need new tennies!!! HAHAHAHA Chris wants to go fishing today....maybe I'll do a little LESS fishing and more watching!! LOL I dunno, I got crap to do here, laundry, floors, SEWING!! He leaves for miami wednesday and I still have 3 more uniforms to sew the anchors on!!! UG!

I was up at 5am with diet Coke in hand at my computer. The first ADR I tried was Le Cellier, with a 5 day date range at 2:45pm and there was NOTHING :scared1:. So I changed the time to 12pm and I GOT ONE :woohoo:.

So here is my list

September 26th
Tony's 5:35 pm(I really wanted Sept 29th, oh well)

September 27th
Captain's Grille 1:25 pm

September 28th
Crystal Palace 8:20 am(I wanted Tusker House, but they only had an opening the same day we do Le Cellier)

September 29th
Grand Floridian Cafe 5:30 pm

September 30th
Sci Fi 6:50 pm

October 1st
Le Cellier 11:40 am

October 2nd
The Wave 12:00 pm

All done and finished at 5:50 am.

It was amazing to me that they did not have a Tony's on 9/29 for dinner, but they did have a CRT . I think my boys will be ok with the choices I made. I can start planning the rest of my trip now :thumbsup2.

Good Morning. Yes, I am glad they are all made. I tried to stay up to make them, but I just couldn't stay awake so I went to bed a 2 am and got back up at 5 am. I was concerned with the Le Cellier ADR but it ended up being Tony's I should have been worried about .

Did you get lots of pix yesterday? Glad to hear that y'all had fun :thumbsup2. Get some new tennies now so you can break them in before September. I made the mistake of buying some new tennies before our 2006 trip. I wore them around for a week or so before we went to Disney and OMG, my feet were tore up. I had blisters on top of blisters. It was horrible, I almost rented a wheelchair my feet were so messed up.

I would go fishing. Sew later, clothes will wait, floors can be done next weekend. Spend the time with Chris .

I think I am gonna kick back in the recliner and nap for a little while. Have fun fishing :thumbsup2

Great ADRs!! :) I was surprised too that there were a LOT of CRT open as 'other suggestions' every time I tried to enter anything in for the MK. Glad you got Le Cellier!! Mmm...the cheese soup makes my mouth water just thinking about it!!

Now I'm on hold with Disney Dining for one last thing (tea at the GF) and then I can go BACK TO BED! I'm exhausted! haha!

We'll be in the same parks on some days so hopefully we'll see you!

Glad you were able to get your ADR's done. I know you have to be getting excited now!
Maybe as it gets closer you will be able to swap to the days that you wanted on certain ADR's. I understand there are lots of cx's.
Have a great day!

I was going to book CRT for dinner for September 29th, but I decided it would be a stretch getting my guys to eat with Cindy :lmao:. Yes, the cheese soup is AMAZING!! I will get a bowl of it and pay oop. I have a TIW card so I will get 20% off.

I got a few more ZZZZZ this morning. I hope you got the tea. Amanda and I were going to do that in May and we canceled our ADR at the last minute.

Meeting up would be fun :thumbsup2. We had a good time at our Dis meet in May.

Thanks, I am so glad to at least have the places we want. I am still not 100% sure about Sci Fi, the food is good, but our service in May was bad. I may change it to Mama Melrose. I will try to change them around in a few days to see if anything opens up.

Looks to be a very tasty vacation. :thumbsup2 I was also surprised at the CRTs that showed up as alternate suggestions, but I guess it's easier to get CRT for dinner w/ no characters than breakfast or lunch w/ the princesses. I considered going for it, but Tony really isn't keen on the idea. Oh well...maybe on my January trip. :scratchin

Well, I have started changing things up already :sad2:. Dale didn't want to make an ADR for 5:30 on the day of our arrival (9/26) because he didn't want to be rushed. So I canceled the Tony's at 5:35 and booked The Plaza for 7 pm. I checked the menu at Captain's Grille again and I think Raglan Road on Sunday, (9/27) at 2:30 pm would be better. And then I kept trying Tusker House and I finally got one for Wednesday (9/30) at 8:25 am. So the new line up is as follows.

Saturday, September 26th(canceled Tony's at 5:35 pm)
The Plaza 7 pm

Sunday, September 27th(canceled Captain's Grille 1:25 pm)
Raglan Road 2:30 pm

Monday, September 28th
Crystal Palace 8:20 am

Tuesday, September 29th
Grand Floridian Cafe 5:30 pm

Wednesday, September 30th(canceled Sci Fi 6:50 pm)
Tusker House 8:25 am

Thursday, October 1st
Le Cellier 11:40 am

Friday, October 2nd
The Wave 12 pm

There is way too much time to say I will not change it again :sad2:. I know I will leave Le Cellier, Tusker House and CP alone though.

LOL waay too funny, was it me that jinxed ya with the changes? If so, I'm sorry!! Everytime I tell my mom I wanna change something, she says no, so she's the voice of reason! LOL We just gotta get together to get the cabin menu down so I can get things slowly. With Chris's raise, it should't be too bad to get stuff, but I wanna save for spending money too..so there we go!!! I have my trip on my mind ALL the time, of course being as slow as we are at work doesn't help either!!! Have a good evening!

I understand not wanting an early dinner ADR on your arrival day. We wanted to eat at T-Rex on our arrival day but didn't want anything too early. The only time they had was 9:00 p.m. but I took it. We'll probably show up early and see if we can get in.

No you didn't jinx me...... Dale not helping me plan was the problem. I kept telling him I was going to make our ADRs today and he just never offered up any help. So today, when I told him about the times he started his mess......:rolleyes1. I am glad I got Tusker House though because I really wanted to eat there. I know what you mean. I am not going to get a fridge in our room this time, we are just gonna use our ice chest. I won't have to buy as much stuff, just some water and drinks.

we're doing breakfast in the cabin, even if it's just cereal. With my sister not having too much money, that'll help save. Of course I'll have the normal drinks, and snacks and booze HAHA that's one of the big reasons I like the cabin, full fridge!! I'll probably get some sandwitch stuff too, just in case. I had that last time, and dad and Chris tore it up!! Plus we're there longer....so that's MY reasoning of thinking, but of course we ALL drink something different.....so that's gonna be fun LOL Ah well, it'll work itself out!!

Me too. I have wanted to try it since they changed it to a TS. I am going to have my little note pad with me this trip so I can jot things down. I am also going to try and get better pictures.

Good luck with the pictures. I transferred my friends pix for her at work Friday.

Yeah, doing breakfast in the room is much cheaper. We had Poptarts and all that kind of stuff too. We will just put some cokes, water and beer in the cooler, if we see we need more than just that we may rent a fridge, but I think we can get by without one. You watch I will be eating those words.........:lmao: I have thought about buying one of those coolers you can plug in and use it for heating or cooling. Gosh, living out of an ice chest reminds me of hurricanes :scared1:. I loved having the full kitchen in the cabin, just not so much the cabins :sad2:. We stayed at Homewood Suites over by US in 2006 and it was great. Full kitchen, living room with a queen sofa bed and the bedroom had two queen beds. Very nice. Got the room on a site called CRShotels.com for $89 a night. It had a full breakfast buffet every morning FREE and a managers reception in the evenings with food and wine or beer FREE. That is why we stay off property a lot. I work my tail off going from site to site to site to get a good deal on a good room.

We did the ice chest thing last trip. Danny would just add ice in the morning and by the middle of the week he was adding it every other day. We just left the chest in the bathroom. (We had a handicap room; because of the king bed--so it was real easy to drain.

We have used an ice chest before, but only when we stayed for a few days. This will be the first time we have stayed longer and not had a fridge. I know it will be fine thought because being on the DDP all we will need is drinks. Dallas is the only one of us that eats 3 meals a day and I figure we can use snack credits to get him a cinnamon roll or something on the days we are not eating breakfast. I am going to ask for a first floor room so it won't be so hard carrying everything in.

I was a little worried about not having a refrigerator too since we are staying at Pop. I bought one at Target last September when they had all their college dorm room stuff out. I paid just $40.00 for one of those cube size ones. We measured how big it was and we could stack two six packs of coke on top of each other and had more room. So, I figured we'd bring it along since it's not any bigger than an ice chest. Now that our daughter is coming with us, we may not have room in the trunk of the car. Should we rent a fridge? Should we bring the collapsible ice chest? Decisions! Decisions!

I think unless you need to have milk in your room the small collapsible one should be fine. Another way to go is to ice down a six pk a night and just use ice and cups for the hot ones in the room and save the cooler one to walk out with. In the past we have always had can drinks and just filled the ice bucket and used cups in the room. Now that we have Ashton we have pedisures to cool so we needed something a little more. We barely used what we iced down. We would fill our resort cup when we left and again when we returned and again when Danny went take a smoke break.:drinking1

It is funny you mentioned the little fridge. I was just looking at the 12 volt coolers that you can get the adaptors for and use as a fridge or warmer. Dale says we don't need it because he will just get ice at the resort and keep our cooler full of ice. Last year, when we stayed at ASMu, we got a fridge in one of our rooms and it took it forever to cool down. At first we thought it was broke. I think a cooler of ice will be fine since it will be for water, drinks and a few adult beverages...........:lmao:.

Dale likes to drink coke over ice, but I like mine straight from the can :drinking1:lovestruc.

It we are close to the food court we will buy the cups, if we aren't close we won't buy them. We last had them when we stayed at POR and we were so far from the food court it wasn't worth it. We find it much cheaper to just buy a couple of 12 pks of drinks. We have so many of those cups I don't have room in my cabinet.

I too tried for evening times, but there were none during our stay either. We had lunch there in May and it was FANTASTIC. GOING BACK IN HISTORY A BIT...:rotfl:
don't know how I missed these...you are moving so fast now that it must of advanced before I was able to read...

Until about 1992 Andrew(Dayne was a baby--and the tornandos were really bad) I really don't remember any particular hurricanes; they came and went in my mind up until than--too young/immature...I don remember Hurricane Juan because of the flooding I must have wanted to do something when it passed that I remember it:laughing:

[QUOTE=racefanof88;32467420]I know what you mean.

We finally got a really good downpour yesterday!!! :yay:they even said a dry front passed through and the high today in New Orleans is suppose to be only 94 so that means about 98 for us. Wow a cold front:rotfl2:!!!

:wave2: Hello fellow LA DISser. I'm in St. Bernard. That's Jezzie in the picture. She was a St. Bernard Katrina rescue. We both found our way home. :goodvibes

Glad you and Jezzie were able to find your way back...I know we have alot of people from St. Bernard, Chalmette, and Arabie that have moved into our area. Our local elementary school went from K-8 250-300 kids to 450-550 after Katrinia. I'm just on the northshore on the Tangi/St Tammany parish line.

GOING BACK IN HISTORY A BIT...:rotfl:
don't know how I missed these...you are moving so fast now that it must of advanced before I was able to read...

[QUOTE=racefanof88;32467331]That is a cute picture!!

Until about 1992 Andrew(Dayne was a baby--and the tornandos were really bad) I really don't remember any particular hurricanes; they came and went in my mind up until than--too young/immature...I don remember Hurricane Juan because of the flooding I must have wanted to do something when it passed that I remember it:laughing:

We finally got a really good downpour yesterday!!! :yay:they even said a dry front passed through and the high today in New Orleans is suppose to be only 94 so that means about 98 for us. Wow a cold front:rotfl2:!!!

I was 6 when Camille hit and we rode over to Biloxi afterwards and it was horrible. You know that feeling after a hurricane, there are no words to express how you feel. When Frederick hit Mobile in 1979 I was a junior in highschool it was a mess. We were without power for 3 weeks and the tropical heat those things bring in :scared1:. I remember it was Georgia Power that got our lights back on in my neighborhood. I'm praying for a calm season because that Gulf water is HOT right now and if a hurricane gets in the Gulf we are in TROUBLE.

Ya'll are funny, we used to sometimes wish for a hurricane to pass by, then the military sent us to orlando!! HAHA OF course now that I have my own house, it's different!! LOL

Before I became a nurse I didn't mind them too much because it meant time off work. Now if they were gonna be bad I didn't want anything to do with them, but a little Tropical Storm wasn't too bad..........:lmao:

Yea, it's funny how things change as you get older huh? Time off work, a free vacation on the military, that was the life, BUT, at what cost? We lost ALOT of stuff in Wilma, to include a minivan I had....some outdoor stuff, you could see where the waterline on our house was down there. We were out of our house for 6 months, shoved in a VERY small 2 bedroom vacation trailer, with a dog and a cat, over thanksgiving AND christmas, it was HORRIBLE!!! So, after that, it's yep, I'm all for a slow season!!

I wish I still had the attitude I had when I was 24, it was before I had any kids and I would just go with the flow. Of course, now it is a totally different story. 6 months in that close a quarters and you still have your sanity? WOW you are a good woman :thumbsup2.

Yep...I had a JOB!! LOL I was Teller Supervisor down there, so I was just at work all the time!! I was about ready to kill the dog tho. We had the tub/shower combo in the ONE bathroom, and I fell coming out of that thing I don't know how many times. I got good at catching myself tho! Chris goes to Miami tomorrow, but his "green team" thing doesn't start until the end of July, so he's getting more time off!! Lucky him huh? That saves on the babysitters!!!!

OMG, the keys were AWESOME....LOVED it there, not much shopping, we had to go to homestead to go to wal mart, but the water was georgous, the fishing was top notch, and it was just lovely to be outside!! I got a friend that I worked with down there, she actually mentored me at the bank when I started as a regular Teller, she's coming up here for a week, and we're gonna meet her at universal for a day. I can't WAIT!!! Now to just get the day off work LOL My advice, skip Miami, and go to the Keys, you won't regret it!!!

I know I've been to Miami and the Keys, but I don't remember much. All I recall is that when we went snorkeling, they tied a rope around my ankle so I couldn't go too far.

The first hurricane I really remember personally is Andrew. I remember watching out my window all the wind and horizontal rain. Me, my mom, my bro and my grandma left together for Georges while my dad stayed. That was :headache: We didn't leave for Isodore, Lili, or Cindi. Cindi was earlier in '05 and gave us alot of trouble with power outages. I actually interviewed for 2 jobs in buildings with no A/C b/c of Cindi (I got one of them!). We weren't going to leave for Katrina, until it got much closer and we saw how HUGE it was getting.

Check out this site:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/2005atlan.shtml

Look at the map for '05. Is that outrageous? And then click and look at '06. It's really dumbfounding.

I agree with the previous comments in that it is completely different for me now. Luckily Katrina waited until 3 months after I finished college. I had just started a job and was living at home. My poor brother had just started his senior year of high school. :sad2: I was lucky enough to be in an extremely flexible point in my life. I was able to go live with my aunt on the west bank and scrape together a little life for myself. I lost everything, but how much of that was really MINE. It was all my parents', and I was not self-reliant. I can't even fathom if I had still been in school and we had to manage all four of us in a camper trailer. :scared1:

For Gustav, it was a whole new world of emotions for me. I own a house, I have furniture and appliances. I work for a small company. So much could go wrong so quickly. I was holding it together pretty well getting the hospital ready for evac and then getting my house ready. Until my friend from college called and asked how I was doing. I burst into tears. Oi. What on earth was I thinking when I bought a house?! :scared::scared1::lmao:

But we still have WDW to look forward to!

Ironically enough, I feel safer HERE, but our house is newer, we're not in a major flood zone, etc. We have our OWN house, and not have to rely on the military to get things done, that can be either good or bad LOL But, it's ours, and we have only been thru one "storm" which was fay last year, LOTS of rain, but no flooding on our street, there was places in the neighborhood that flooded, but we're in a pretty BIG neighborhood here. Most of the storms seem to miss us and go north, or go south and into the gulf, when they enter the gulf, it's pretty much over for someone, cause those storms get big QUICK!!! I do not envy ya'll for ya'lls place up there!!! BUT, we're gonna have a nice quiet season, and we'll have WDW to look forward to here soon!!!!!

It is strange how our priorities change as we get older. That is one reason we don't want to buy a house. Our first house was "The Money Pit" so we got out of it asap. Any plans we make we have to consider our 4 legged family member.

We are lucky to be across the street from the coast guard base. If power goes out we are some of the first to get it back on because of them. We are also in a pretty flood proof zone so that is helpful. I am going to have to take a picture of the helicopter as it flies over my house so I can show you how close they come to my roof. It sounds like they are going to land on my roof.

I also remember a time when hurricanes were "excited" and I used to get disappointed when they'd turn and go somewhere else! I grew up on the Westbank just like the PP. I was 7 months pregnant with my son and my DH and I lived with my parents when Katrina hit. DH was getting his MBA from Tulane at the time. Luckily, we have family in Lafayette that we lived with for about 6 weeks until my son was born. My parent's house was flooded and we lived in a FEMA trailer for a couple of months after Hayden was born.

Strangely, I was also 7 months pregnant with my DD last year for Gustav and Ike. My family jokes that I can't get pregnant anymore b/c it causes hurricanes LOL They seriously follow me, it seems ... I live in Morgan City now, which is where Gustav hit. We evacuated to Charlotte where my ILs live; they haven't had a hurricane in years and ironically, Hanna headed that way when we were there ... once we headed back to LA, Ike set his sites. So weird LOL It is completely different once you have your own home and responsibilities. I was so overwhelmed and stressed about having to leave my house, that I didn't really pack up or try to "save" anything ... I grabbed a file of important papers, packed up my computer and left. I had my family with me and that was all that mattered!

It sounds like they follow you :scared1:. Bless your heart. We have made it one month without anything so far, I hope it stays that way. It wasn't that long ago we were spared because they were all going up the East coast. I don't wish them on anybody, I just wish they would wonder off in the Atlantic and "poof". When we left for Ivan I walked around taking pictures of everything and I took all my papers with us. The thing that bothers me the most is pictures. There is no way I could pack up and take all of those.

I am jumping up and down like a kangaroo on a pogo stick. I just got all our clothes packed and now all I have to pack is my makeup and stuff and I will do that tomorrow night after I get home from work. It is Dale, Dallas, and I going. We are staying at the Rodeway inn on International Blvd. We have stayed there before and it is an ok place to stay when all you are doing is sleeping and showering. I am just so excited :cool1:. We are staying at the Rodeway Inn on International Drive. I couldn't get a room a value resort on such short notice, but we have stayed at this Rodeway before and it is fine for sleeping. I tried to find someone to come in for me at 3pm today, but I couldn't find anybody. I guess I shouldn't be so greedy, I did get this weekend covered. Dale isn't going to get off till late anyway. As far as plans we are just going to Disney. I haven't looked at the ticket situation for Daytona yet, but Dallas isn't a huge race fan. I hope we have fun. I looked at weather.com to check out temps and it is acutally going to be cooler there than it is here. Y'all have a good time at US. I wish we lived close enough to go every weekend.

Yep, I added him to the hotel ressie at Rodeway ($10 a night and booked him a day only kennel at DHS for 2 days). I knew Dale wouldn't leave without him :sad2:. I wish we could have left tonight, but Dale and I were both tired after work today so we probably wouldn't have gotten but a couple of hours under our belts anyway. On the way home I stopped at Winn-Dixie and picked up some snacks and Gatorade(yuck) for the trip.

I looked into the Dessert buffet at MK and was :scared1::eek::scared: at the price. The cost of $17.99 each, for the three of us, for dessert was just more than I felt like I wanted to spend.

So, I am trying to get sleepy and I'm not EVEN a least bit sleepy. I don't want to take a sleeping pill because I am getting up at 3am. Hmmmmmmmmm maybe a benadryl. I don't want to over sleep.

We pulled out of our driveway at 4:10 am and we were on our way. I dozed on and off for most of the trip because I got up at 3 am and didn't get to sleep until after 11 pm last night. We stopped in DeFuniak Springs and filled up and got some breakfast at McD's. We even bought Niko a McGriddle but he wouldn't eat it so I had to share my chicken biscuit and hash brown with him :sad2:. We didn't stop again until Wildwood so we pretty much drove right through. We pulled into the parking lot of the Rodeway at 1:30 pm and our room wasn't ready so we headed to DHS to drop Niko off at his "day suite" and we went into the park to start our mini-vacation. I think every single CM that had the clip board thingie approached us today. The first one asked if I would be willing to participate in a survey about spending at Disney and I would get a $25 Disney gift card. So, I agreed. Now I have a notebook I have to keep up with spending on food, on and off property, and souvenirs and mail it back to Disney. I have been collecting my receipts from everything and I can't wait to see how much a short trip will end up costing. I love having internet access in my hotel room :woohoo:.

Ok, it is now 12 am and I guess I had better get some sleep. We got back to the room about 10:30 pm and I am exhausted. I will update again tomorrow. I do have to say though, the crowds were bad, the heat was oppressive, but it was all worth it to see the fireworks at the MK tonight. I was a babbling idiot. I cried while I was trying to take pictures, I have a video I will upload too. It was totally AMAZING. Tomorrow we are going to hit MK and Epcot. I think we are gonna do breakfast at IHOP, yummmmmmm.

More tomorrow.

Hey Girl, we are heading back home early in the morning. We plan on getting on the road by 7 or 8 so we can be home by 3 or 4. The crowds were bad, but not what I expected. After reading about crowd levels from past 4th, I figured we wouldn't ride anything.

I hate that we are leaving early and won't get to meet up. We are right up the street from US. Y'all have a great time and stay cool and well hydrated. Niko was a big ole chicken when we picked him up at DHS because their fireworks were going off at that time. Some watch dog he is........:lmao:.

Glad you had a good time :thumbsup2. We are home too. We left the hotel at 7:10 am and pulled into our driveway at 3:20 pm. It was a longer drive home because there was a wreck on I-10 not 10 miles from our exit. And having to go through the tunnel bottlenecks the traffic on I-10 something horrible on a regular weekend so we got off and went the back way. Yeah over the hills and through the woods to Dana's house we go........:lmao:.

Before I continue my TR I must say I am very saddened by the death of the monorail driver at Disney this morning. I hope they find out the reason for the two trains colliding. My condolences go out to his family, friends and co-workers .

I too am saddened by the death of Steve McNair. We saw him at Disney with his family several years ago. I hope his family can find peace .

Bad weekend for happenings.....I just heard about Steve McNair....very very sad. I heard about themonorail before we left for Universal. We had a BAD experience there today....I need to find a complaint email or something to write to them. we were on dr doom, and I can't bring the restraint all the way down, usually the worker there pushes it the rest of the way down for me, since I just don't have the strength, but this hosebag today didn't want to listen to me, and I had about 4-6 inches of play between me and my belly, so, I got bumped around quite a bit. I can ride those rides, with the proper restraints, but if the workers don't wanna help what can I do? they were CRAZY busy, so I didn't complain while there, I'll type up a message tomorrow at work or something to them, and I DID get a name....it's easy, same as mine!! I was scared ****less when we took off. I wasn't in danger of falling out, but it coulda REALLY hurt me getting bonked around like that. When we hit the top, I moved around quite a bit, not just stay there, and move an inch or 2. It was scary, then I got pissed. SO, gonna go ask on the universal board who to complain to. The lady at the parking garage didn't even give us our change today, we had to go by guest relations just to get THAT back!! wasn't too good of a day over there. That's why we're home early. Anyways, glad ya'll are safe, and I'm sure you're tired, so have a good night and get some rest!!

I have to tell ya that I too was saddened by the news of the monorail driver being killed at Disney this morning. I just can't understand how that could happened. It's just so sad. We have had so much sad news lately haven't we? I mean with Michael Jackson and all of this other, it has just been so sad.

OMG, I would CALL tomorrow and ask to speak to someone who could do something about your problem. It could have turned out really bad, I am very thankful it didn't. You need to let them know that their workers were not listening to someone with special needs. Not only is it insensitive it is UNSAFE.

We heard about McNair yesterday when we went back to the room to rest. I am still just sick about that and the monorail. We were on the Pink monorail Friday night when it had a "mechanical problem". That may not have anything to do with it, but it really makes me wonder :rolleyes1.

Thank you. It was a really special trip to only be two days. Now I am really getting hyped about September.

There has been too much lately. I am really shaken by the monorail driver. He was just so young.

I didn't take any pictures of the food. Dale and I had the hamburger and French fries and Dallas had a hot dog and French fries. I took the above picture after we ate. We went over to Star Tours as it said it was only going to be a 20 minute wait, but I think it was WAY off. We got out of line because it got so hot and we headed to the Back Lot Tour because we didn't get to ride it in May.

I am a HUGE Coke fan.

Dallas wanted an ice cream so he got the strawberry bar, but I ended up eating it because of the strawberry chunks. He didn't like them at all, but it was yummy and so refreshing. We walked around DHS a little longer and decided we were too hot to stay any longer so we headed to the kennel to walk Niko then back to the room for a cold shower and rest before we headed over to the MK for the fireworks.
We only rode the one ride, but it was fun to feel like we were not in a rush.

More to come later.

It was actually hotter here than at Disney. And I am like you, hot at Disney is a different type hot. Dallas is tall for his age, he is taller than me now.

I wouldn't pick July as a time to go, but both times we have went in July it was spur of the moment trips. Hey, that is fine with me. We just took it slow and stayed hydrated. We did the A/C stuff during the day.

Niko KNOWS he's cute........:lmao:. But I will say thank you for him. He is so rotten.

He actually acted right this time. It is likely the fact that we took him back to the room each night.
I love that growth chart too. I told Dallas I wanted to compare how much he has grown in 3 years.
I do feel really lucky. I will try to buy APs from now on because it wasn't a bad trip at all. The drive home actually wouldn't have taken as long had we not had to take the detour.

Danny would NEVER do APs:scared1:. I am soooo lucky that we are going back next year. The next trip will probably be 5-7 yrs after that. Although, if we go in Sep and not Dec; he will either have to give in for 2011 Dec or Ashton and I will have to go alone:rotfl:. I will see Disney for Christmas. But, in all honesty there are too many other places we want to start seeing now that the older kids will be out of the house and Ashton will be old enough to leave or take along and not be a baby to tend to 24 hrs (if you know what I mean).

I want to see Disney at Christmas too. I have been looking at some of the off property hotels for a long weekend like we just did, but in November or December. I have to work Thanksgiving this year, but I am off Christmas. I may see if someone wants to swap and I would work Christmas for them if they work my Thanksgiving. It really all depends on Dale's schedule. I don't know what it is, but we really can't think of any other places we want to go but to Disney :sad2:. I am scared of heights so the mountains are out, neither of us are real outdoorsy types so that just doesn't appeal to us. I don't fly so going to another country is out too. We go to the beach all the time anyway. We do want to go to the Florida Keys and I would like to see New York one time as that is where my father was from. Other than that, it is Disney all the way :thumbsup2.

FL keys are the BOMB baby!! Go to key west during fantasy fest, look it up. LOL New york was okay....when I was in the CG I was stationed there at Governors Island, it's closed now, but it was right off manhattan. I LOVED FAO schwartz, but I think that's gone now. there was a wing place in the village called down the hatch, that had THE BEST wings, until I got here and tried a little place called Dogs r us. So there's good and bad to all places, but the keys are definedly a must do. I agree, disney all the way! LOL Chris got a call from Universal today asking what time that incident took place, so they're working something on it. Not sure what, maybe I got someone fired? That would suck.

Thanks to all my friend's and family's prayers we all seem to be doing OK. Yesterday was the funeral and it was hard. Seeing my nephews (her 4 sons) as sad as they were was really hard. Saturday morning Dale decided we needed to get out of the house and do something. I think he was just tired of seeing me mope around the house. We got dressed and we rode over to Biloxi and went to the Hard Rock Casino.
We are not much on Casinos and all, but I was interested in seeing the memorabilia at the Hard Rock. Hurricane Katrina hit just a few days before Hard Rock was scheduled to open and it was destroyed. It took almost 2 years to rebuild and get it opened.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Hard%20Rock%20Casino/DSCF3499.jpg

If you look off in the distance, under the Waffle House sign, you will see a clean slab. That is where a building once stood until Katrina.

I thought this was so neat, seeing the shrimp boat with his nets ready to catch some shrimp.

I made him stop and let me get this one.

We walked around a little longer and decided we were going to leave. We spent about an hour and a 1/2 all together in the Casino and eating. We rode around Biloxi for a little while and went to Edge Water Mall and walked around there for a while too. On our way home we saw this on west bound I-10.

It wasn't a wreck, the car was just burning. The people were standing behind the car. I didn't hear about it on the news so I hope they were OK. Traffic on I-10 was backing up pretty bad.

It was a pretty good day and it was nice to get out of the house for a while.

we normally do Beau Rivage and if we stay the night Imperial
we have not ventured into Hard Rock, yet. Well at least I haven't Danny ate there after it opened while doing recovery work.

It was relaxing. I was tired after we got home from all the walking. We started to go to the Beau Rivage too, but I told Dale we could do that next time. We have never stayed over night. What surprised me was the families checking into the hotel. We saw two families with little kids checking in, and they both had lots of luggage. I guess I just don't think of a Casino area as a family vacation. I have never liked the beaches in Biloxi, but I guess they could be there for that too.

We have always taken the kids...
when Gwendolyn & Dayne were younger we would go during the week and stay a night sometimes two. One year we had my sisters kids and we stayed I want to say three nights but we took them to ship island. we took turns doing the arcades (I'm not really into gambling--so I usually did things at night w/them) during the day we would go to the pool, little water parks (this is all pre-katrinia). Danny & I just started going back this past Jan and yes we take Ashton but we usually just go for an overnight getaway. Danny usually goes to the casino after Ashton & I go to bed.

The Imperial Palace use to have a cinema, arcade, and a great pool. I know they have the arcade and I do not know what there pool looks like now; but I'm sure it is the same.
We used to love the Grand in gulfport they had a lazy river Gwendolyn & Dayne loved it and they had an awesome arcade playarea. Too bad Katrinia took it away.

So, I guess the Casino's are geared for both adult fun but they also include the family as for the beaches once you go to FL you will not go to MS but Ship Island is awesome!!!
the sand is white, soft and the water crystal blue...
and the boat ride and the old fort is fun w/the kids...

We have never been to IP. Of course we see if from I-110 on the way home......lol. The pool at HR looked really nice though. I guess it would be a good weekend vacation. My mom and one of my sisters would go over and spend all day on Saturdays.

Some of the pictures of my sister Pat were of her at Boomtown.

When I left off we were leaving DHS to go back to the room to rest. We were going to go in the pool, but it was just too crowded. We laid down to rest for a while and it was so cool in the room. After we got up we ordered this......

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/disney03096.jpg

Flippers pizza. Dallas LOVES this pizza. It is really good pizza, Dale says it is almost worth the trip down just to get the pizza :lmao:. So, after we ate we headed over the DHS to walk Niko and then we went to MK.

We walked right on Stitch and then we walked over to the Speedway. The wait time was 25 minutes, if you can believe that, so we got in line to ride.

Dallas and I in our Speedway Car.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3061-Copy2-Copy.jpg

Dallas acutally did pretty well driving this time. Usually, he jerks me around so much my neck hurts when we get off :rotfl:.

Sunset over space mountain.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/disneyjuly3rd09.jpg

So by now it is almost time for the fireworks and I really wanted to see this show as everyone says it is the best one. But, we were hot and wanted something cool, so we went into Auntie Gravitys.

Dale got a diet Coke, Dallas got a cone and this is what I got
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/disney03093.jpg

the root beer float.........yum yum. Dallas wouldn't let me take a picture of his cone..........:lmao:

So we walked to the Castle side of Cosmic Rays to get a better viewing of the fireworks. It really was amazing.

I am still learning how to use my camera, but here are a couple of pix along with a video
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3100.jpg

The reason I keep swinging the camera around is because the fireworks were going off all around us. I found out the next day that they are called parameter fireworks. They go off from the Castle and several corners of the park to get the effect. WOW, who knew? If you listen you can hear Dallas asking if they are about over.......:lmao:.

So, we headed back around Cosmic Rays as they were not letting anyone cross the bridge behind the Castle. We were ready to head back to DHS and pick Niko up and then get back to the room and go to bed. As we walked toward Stitch we were lead in front of Buzz and beside Carousel of Progress. It was a HUGE crowd leaving and people were getting kinda snippy. I held onto Dallas and Dale held onto me so we would not get seperated. I had NO idea where they were leading us. We ended up coming out behind everything. We got a behind the scenes tour without even planning on it :rotfl:. We came out on the street that runs beside Tony's. We headed to the ferry as everyone in the park headed to the monorail. We picked Niko up and headed to the room. It was a very LONG day that had started at 4 am and it was now around 10:30 pm.

Up next Saturday, July 4th and what a special day it was.

Thanks, definitely let me know what the surgeon says. I will be praying for you.

We found Flippers totally by accident about 5 years ago and every year we go Dallas requests we order it. Of course they can't deliver on Disney property so when we were there in May we went and picked some up. They really do make the best pizza, I wish we had one here.

It was actually neat to go behind everything. I guess it was one of the unloading areas as there were two trucks pulled up to a warehouse being unloaded. The lights had some type of filters over them and there were stars shining on the buildings. There was an area where they had benches set up and some palm trees lining a walkway. There were cars parked there too so I figured it was the night shift Cm's parking area. I wanted to get pictures, but there were so many people I was scared I would get separated from Dale and Dallas.

fun update!! sounds like the fireworks were awesome...

The fireworks were great. I was crying like an idiot..........:lmao:.

The pizza is good we actually ordered it both nights . Nothing around here compares. There is a Flippers on Kirkman Road and they have tables so you can go in and eat there. That is our plans for September since they can't deliver to Disney property.

So Saturday morning we were up and out the door about 8 am. Dale had taken Niko to the kennel while Dallas and I got ready. We went to IHOP to eat breakfast. They were busy, but we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered and we waited a little while to get our food. Not too bad though. I had the Hawaiian strawberry pancakes, Dallas had chocolate chip pancakes and Dale had a hamburger :sad2:. That was the biggest hamburger I have ever seen. I didn't get any pictures at IHOP. Some guy was walking around making balloon animals and Dallas wanted a Dachshund of course. We dropped the balloon in the room and Dale decided we should go walk Niko :rolleyes1

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3166.jpg

The ladies at the kennel said "Niko just got here", I told her yeah I know, my husband is crazy about that dog and he didn't want him to feel lonely.....lol.

I took this on Friday after we dropped Niko off. I had never noticed this in the parking lot at DHS before. It was on the pavement near the kennel
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/disney03098.jpg

So after walking Niko we headed to MK to spend the biggest part of the day. We arrived at the TTC about 10ish and we decided we wanted to eat lunch in the park at a TS restaurant. I asked Dale is he wanted Tony's or the Plaza and he said the Plaza. I called the reservation line and was able to get us an ADR for 2:05 pm and the cm asked if there was anyone with allergies in our group and I told her yes we had a peanut allergy. She gave me the ressie number and since we were on the monorail I could hardly hear her so I was a little worried we would get there and not have a ressie.

So we headed into the park.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3167.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3231.jpg

We went straight over to Tomorrowland as this seemed to be the least traveled area.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3175-1.jpg

We made it to the Laugh Floor and headed in to get out of the heat. The wait time said 25 minutes, but we didn't mind.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3180.jpg

It was nice as it was so cool. Dallas wanted to sit up front so we headed there when the doors to the Laugh Floor opened. So the show started and low and behold Dale was chosen as "That Guy".............:lmao::rotfl:. It was so funny. The show was much better than it was in May. It was way more interactive. So after we left TLF everyone was saying "hey, it's That Guy" for the rest of the day. We got our fastpasses for Buzz and then headed over to Carousel of Progress and waited all of about 2 minutes. I took some pix but I just have not got the night shot picture taking down yet and it said not to use flash.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3183.jpg

I love this ride/show. In my opinion it is true Disney and it is one of the rides I remember most from my first trip in 1986. After we finished CoP we had to make a potty stop so we went to the bathrooms near SM and of course Dale was noticed :lmao:. Then we headed to Buzz.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3223.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3225.jpg

We still had 10 minutes till our FP so we got a diet Coke to drink and a bottle of water for later. We still had 5 minutes and we asked if we needed to wait and we were told yes we had to wait until 12:45. So we waited until our time and got in the FP line.

As we waited I snapped this
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3224.jpg

Something was wrong with Buzz they had a curtain over him :confused3.

After riding Buzz we still had an hour before our ADR so we walked over to Adventureland because Dallas wanted to see the Tiki show. That was fine with us because we knew it would be air conditioned.

Here are some flowers I snapped on the way, yes I got fussed at :sad2:.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3233.jpg

Can you believe that? They were walking away leaving me snapping pictures of flowers. How mean is that? :lmao:

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3239.jpg

We walked right into the show and got a seat. I took pictures of the Tiki room, but of course they didn't turn out. Dang it I have got to get the dark/night pictures figured out. I didn't care for the show so much, but it was cool so that was good. After the show we still had 30 minutes before our ADR so we walked back toward the front of the park.

To be Con't. We are having a storm right now and my power keeps flashing on and off and I keep losing my internet. So I will update later.

Thanks. Insurance is horrible, you are better off having Medicaid. I am not sure about calcium spots. I have been away from Med-Surg nursing for 8 years now. I hope they can give you some positive answers Thursday. Trying to live on pain meds is hard. I get so sick on pain meds anyway I have a hard time taking them. I will keep you in my prayers.

Oh girl you know you are welcome. I have been the recipient of everyone's prayers this past week and they are helping me. I know it sucks that Chris is leaving Sunday, but you are lucky you have family there. I know I am blessed that I have my family too. It is hard to be sick and not have anyone there. They need to just take the thing out. I am not wishing surgery on you, but you sure don't want that to keep flaring up. I am still upset that they didn't take my gallbladder out in December when it was KILLING me. They did the same thing to me in the ER, gave me pain meds and sent me home. I told them I can't take the pain meds because they make me sick, but they didn't care. I flushed the pain meds down the toilet a few weeks ago. I had taken 2 and just couldn't handle anymore. I am the one rambling now, sorry. I go back to work tomorrow, I haven't been back since my sister passed and it will be hard because my assistant nurse manager lost her husband 8 weeks ago. Well sorry again I was rambling. Keep me updated on what is going on.

I love this guy........lol

I wish this was my yard.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3266.jpg

So we arrived at the Plaza and checked in at the podium. We were handed a buzzer and we went to find some shade to wait in. We still had 20 or so minutes to wait.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3287.jpg

Dallas and I went and sat at a closed off entrance at the end of the Plaza, and Dale stood across from us under a tree. We still had the bottle of water from earlier and I pulled it out of my backpack for us to share.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3286.jpg

Now you would think since we had been rained on so much in May I would have hated seeing the rain clouds, but I was excited because I knew it would cool things off a little. At about 2 pm we walked up closer to the podium so we would be ready to go in. At exactly 2:05 our buzzer went off, and it started raining........:rotfl:. We were taken to our table and the Hostess laid a large notebook on the table. I didn't really think too much about it until she said our waitress would be over to our table and the Chef would come out and discuss the menu since we had someone with an allergy . Now every time we have eaten at a Disney restaurant I have mentioned we had someone on the ADR with a peanut allergy, but never have we had anyone come talk to us. So the Chef comes over to our table and asks who has the allergy and Dallas told him it was he. The chef asked Dallas what he was going to order and Dallas told him a grilled cheese and french fries. He explained to me that the grilled cheese was probably the best option as there was no peanut nor peanut by products in this option so there would be no chance of cross contamination. He told Dallas he would go and cook his food himself and make sure he got extra french fries........

Our waitress came and took Dale and my order and then she brought our drinks. The chef came back and brought Dallas food

Our food came out pretty soon after Dallas' and it was so good.

I had the Cheese steak sandwich

And Dale had the grilled chicken sandwich

I was surprised that Dale did not order a hamburger. He cut me a bite off his sandwich and it was very good. I know what I will order in September. The chef came back out during our meal and talked to us for a long time. He was so nice. He made the comment that everyone must think we were VIPs since he was basically staying at our table :lmao:. After our meal he asked Dallas what he wanted for dessert, Dallas ordered a chocolate milkshake. Our waitress came to the table to get our dessert order and the chef told her that he was going to take care of Dallas'. Dale and I ordered the brownie sundae to share.

Dallas' milkshake. He brought the glass and the extra.

This is all I got of the brownie sundae. :lmao::rotfl:

So, I guess you can tell it was good. Dallas was wearing his birthday button for our May trip. He didn't want to take it off his lanyard :confused3. Our waitress came and brought out the check and she also brought this for Dallas

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20July%2009/DSCF3311.jpg

It went back to the room with us. In fact it is still in my fridge right now. Dallas never eat a bite of it. I told him last week it needs to be thrown away. We paid the check and decided it was time to go back to the room to rest for a while and cool off. It was a very special lunch. When we got home Dallas told Amanda and Tyler all about having his own chef at the Plaza. I asked the chef if he was going to be working on Sept 26, we have an ADR for 7 pm at the Plaza that day, he said he was going to be off that day because he was going to be in his friend's wedding.

We left the park and headed for the monorail. We needed to go walk Niko before going back to the room.

Leaving the park. I was kinda sad because I knew it would be September before we were back.

We never had to wait long for a monorail. The parks were crowded, but not overly so.

If you look over Dale's left shoulder you will see the pink line. I am still saddened by the monorail accident.

We walked Niko and went back to the room. We decided we wanted to see the 4 th Illuminations show. We all took a nap and we were up and ready to go to Epcot by 7 pm. It was really nice to take a nap each day and go back to the park once it was getting dark because it was cooler.

Of course they didn't want me taking pictures, but so what I took them anyway :lmao:.

We headed to SSE and walked right on. I recorded our little video at the end of the ride.

After we got off SSE we went to Mouse Gears. I wanted a new purse but could not find one I really liked. We stayed in Mouse Gears for a little while just shopping around. I bought something, but for the life of me I can't remember what :sad2:. We headed toward WS because it was now about 8:30 and I THOUGHT the show was suppose to start at 9. From the looks of the crowds I wasn't the only one. We got a spot and waited.

Again I have got to work on my night shot photography. Well, we waited and at 9 pm no show, then 9:15, then 9:30 and the "voice" over the speakers said Illuminations would start in 30 minutes :scared1:. What? We had waited for an hour and by now Dale and Dallas were so hot and tired they just wanted to go. I gave in, because I was hot and tired too and tired of being stepped on by some of the rude people waiting. People were just coming up and walking all over other people and pushing in front of us. We headed to the front of the park to leave.

We got to DHS to pick up Niko right as they were starting the fireworks there.

This is the fireworks video at DHS.

As we were pulling out of the parking lot at DHS we could see that Illuminations had started.......:lmao:.

We got back to the room and I started packing up. We all got our showers so we could get up in the morning and just leave. I took a few more pictures before packing up the camera.

We ordered Flippers pizza again and they delivered it within 30 minutes. We ate and we were all asleep by midnight. We were up at 6:30 am Sunday, July 5 th for the drive home. We were on the Interstate by 7 am. We had a very good time and the trip down and back wasn't bad at all. Now I am ready to go back. I love having the APs so we can go on long weekends and not have to worry about tickets.
