Hey! Dana
it's getting soooo close and I can't believe how close for Christie!
I always pack soap, shampoo, and conditioner. but, for some strange reason I liked that bar soap! :confused3 normally I'm allergic to hotel soap and shampoo! I gave the shampoo and soap to the kids in their souvi bags; they loved it :yay:
How is Dale doing? better I hope!!! maybe he should nap first
and, you get to go again in DECEMBER!!!! :yay:

Doesn't seem real for me yet....it will once I'm on my way to the airport sunday! I'm mostly packed...gonna check everything sunday morning again...while waiting!!
I don't think Tina's gonna take her laptop, so unless I can connect with my cell...which I'll have to see how much THAT costs first....I MAY be able to pop on briefly! But I'll try my best! Take it easy, I'll be on tomorrow in between cleaning stuff!!

Thanks Ginny . I have to work, but that is ok hopefully we will have a good quiet weekend :thumbsup2.
I hope you have a great weekend too. Do you have any plans?
I get to leave at 5 am and go to Don's family reunion. :yay: Not really. Very boring. I'm putting a new book on my Itouch so I will have something to do. The motel said they had wifi in the lobby so I can get on the internet with the Itouch. I won't take the laptop. We will be home sometime on Sunday. Won't be soon enough. Those reunions are so boring. I went last year too. Out of 42 years I've been to 6. Am I the bad wife or what. He always goes to mine. Mine are fun, his suck.
Have a great day at work. And enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I think the problem I have with the soap is because the water in Orlando smells so bad  and the soap scent isn't strong enough to cover it up.
I usually bring the soap and shampoo home as souvis too.
Dale is still being Dale, not wearing the c-pap, but he is doing pretty good with the diet. You are right he prolly should nap first :lmao:.

It will seem more real to me when we load up the car. It feels real now, but we are still 2 weeks out. I am kinda sad the big kids aren't going with us thought.
I am gonna use my cell as my wireless router. I will cancel it once we get home...........:lmao:.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the family reunion. I might would just get to coughing and sneezing when we got to the motel and tell Don you don't feel well and if you are coming down with the piggie snorts you don't want to make the rest of his family sick :scared1: I know I am bad.
Try to have fun, just think about the food :thumbsup2.

What an awesome idea. Why hadn't I thought of that? We are bringing the bacon and sausage for breakfast so we have to be real early. I did find out there was a McDonalds so I can get a latte. I may have several. The town is so small there is no Walmart or anything. It's on a river and a bunch of mills. Then Don has made up the treasure hunt. I so hope I don't have to do that.

We don't go anywhere for a long period of time without taking Dial soap. That's John's favorite. I also bring along our own shampoo and conditioner. I bring the Disney soap and shampoo home with me. They are the perfect size to take camping. I also sent home a huge ziplock bag with Lacey. She works in a homeless shelter in Atlanta and she took those to the shelter. The shelter was very excited to get the donation.

I just haven't really thought about taking soap before :confused3. That is a good idea for the Disney stuff though. I bring that stuff home and never do anything with it. I still have some soap from our trip in 2002......LOL.

I think I have everything planned out now so here are the plans..........(subject to change :lmao:)
Saturday, September 26-Leave Mobile at 3-4 am and stop at a Waffle House and get some breakfast, we have stopped at the one in Crestview before so it may be that one. I am hoping to be at Pop by 12:30 -1:00 pm. If our room is ready (HOPE, HOPE, HOPE)take everything to the room and go for some lunch at the food court, then have a swim. If the room is not ready, go to the food court and have some lunch and hope the room is ready when we get finished. We have ADRs at Plaza for 7pm and then we will stay at the park as long as we can before we pass out.
Sunday, September 27-Sleep in for a while and then head to the Poly for our 11:15 breakfast at 'Ohana. Then head over to Epcot. Try and stay for Illuminations.
Monday, September 28th- Crystal Palace at 8:20 so it is up early and hit the floor running. Spend the early morning in MK and then head over to DHS.
Tuesday, September 29th-Sleep in and hit the food court for lunch or a late breakfast. Grand Floridian Cafe at 5:30pm and the MNSSHP at 7pm. I have a good friend who is in a Mardi Gras Society and she said she thinks she still has one of her costumes and she is going to let me borrow it :yay:. I think it will be fun to go eat and wear the costume......:lmao:. Dale will be mortified :lmao:.
Wednesday, September 30-Tusker House 8:25am, yes I know I am crazy to have such an early ADR after the party, but that is the only time they had available and I had it made before we decided what day we were going to the party. So we will be at AK this day and we can usually do AK in about a half a day so we can head back to the room and nap. Don't know what we will do in the evening, it may be another pool day.
Thursday, October 1-Epcot day. We have an ADR for Le Cellier at 11:40. We will hit the park early and make a full day of it. After lunch we can make the rounds for the F&W Festival and snack around the world for dinner.
Friday, October 2- DHS for our Mama Melrose ADR at 1:30. This is our last full day so we will just hop around and do the things we missed and everything we wanted to do again.
Saturday, October 3-Dale and my 22nd Anniversary. We will check out and drive home :sad1:.
I don't have all of our CS places set because we can just eat where ever, when ever.

sounds like a good plan...oh boy a costume that will be fun!!! I can't wait for pictures!!!!
Wednesday should not be too bad! you know you can cover what you want in about a half day you can go back to the room take a quick nap or go out to the pool and just relax!!! and start again in the evening!

That is what I am thinking too. It may turn out to be a totally different plan, but I wanted to at least have an outline.......:lmao:. I don't want it to turn out like May '08 when we felt ruled by the DDP. I hated that we couldn't get 'Ohana for dinner because I feel like we are eating mostly breakfast foods.

I'm glad Disney is expanding, but it is kinda sad that they are expanding after laying off so many people :sad1:.
I hope the new expansions are good. It does seem as if it is geared more toward girls though.

I really don't mind road trips too much and we have a lot of fun. It's just that the drive is so boring. There is nothing to see until you get to Mobile and Pensacola. After that it gets boring again.

If I plan this right. I can squeeze in Dana's car, then yours again, then Connies. I don't think I can be ready to catch Heathers right now. I have to be here to write a paycheck. But I'll keep watching the boards and see who I can sneak rides with. I may be banned by the Dis.:lmao:

You are so right about boring. I try to sleep about half way......lol. It was a long trip coming back in May because of all the rain. The July trip wasn't so bad because I drove for about 2 hours or so.

I am hoping they are going to offer the 7/4 again. We will probably go in March or April so we can use the APs again. I am seriously going to try and talk Dale into going for the Christmas weekend and tell him that is my Christmas present :thumbsup2.

You would be his best friend :thumbsup2. I don't have a clue how to play the DS and he is CRAZY about his DS. Tyler doesn't like to play his anymore and Dallas so loves to play on the Wi Fi and play against someone. He and I do Wii Fit and that is all I can do on the games now. I am a Frogger type gamer............LOL.

No, I can't Ginny. I went to Goodwill yesterday and bought some stuff to make Dallas' pirates costume. I didn't want to go buy new stuff. I got a pair of black pants, a black vest, white shirt and belt all for $12.00 and some change. I washed the stuff a couple of time :lmao:. We tried it all on this morning and he looked so cute. I ordered some spats and a sash to complete the look. He already has a pirate hat we bought for him when we went to the Pirate and Princess party a couple of years ago. He has an eye patch, but he doesn't like to wear it. I got pirate makeup yesterday too, but he doesn't want to wear it either :confused3.
I am getting really antsy now because we are so close.

Now that's my kind of shopping. Lacey used to go to Goodwill all the time and get stuff to dress in for children's church. She didn't want to cut up her good clothes to make costumes so she went there. She thought that the kids paid more attention to her and her lesson if she were dressed up a "character" from the Bible.

Sorry I've been missing in action the last few days. Wonderful that you're just about done preparing for the trip. John always waits until the last minute to pack his clothes. Poor baby doesn't know what matches what. I usually just pull out all of his shorts and shirts and match them up and ask for his approval.

I am so hyped I can't stand it. There are 6 Mouse heads left on my door for the countdown calendar . Are you wearing a costume at the MNSSHP? I got the Mardi Gras costume today and it is too cute. When I put it on my family said I looked more like a fairy than a witch.:rolleyes1

Hey girlfriend! How are ya? I would be beside myself. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see pics of WDW and of the costumes.
Hey Leanne, I am beside myself. I keep rechecking to make sure I have the APs packed and all the vouchers for this trip. I have checked my ADR ressies about 5 times since I made them :lmao:. The costume is sooooooooo cute. It is a black dress with green sequins around the neck and hem with green shear cut outs on the him and shear green and black long sleeves. The hat has green sequins around the edge with and green ribbon down the back. I will take a pic of the costume and post it.
I know you are working today. But how exciting for your check in yesterday. You'll be counting the hours real soon. I'm packing just trying to figure out how to get to your house. Don says I can just use my broom
I am glad to be off for the weekend now. Thursday and Friday were VERY busy. Tell Don the wine is good :thumbsup2. Tell him you will leave the broom for him to clean the house with while you are gone, but since he has offered you the option to go, you would like a ticket in first class :lmao:
Good morning Dana. Well our team lost last night. 48-14. Had a good time. Hope you are having a good weekend.
I hate that your team lost :sad2:. The school Amanda and Tyler went to has been having a bad year this year too. I had a really good day today, I hope your weekend is going good too and is restful.

What is it about men? I don't understand how they can stand to wait until the last minute to get things ready. What really makes me , is how I have to help everyone else get ready to go somewhere and then I am the last one ready and all Dale can do is fuss and say "Let's gooooooooo" :headache:

Hey girl!! I'm back....and you're getting ready to go...it was HOT HOT HOT....and I'll probably start my TR tomorrow....I'm BEAT!!! Had a good time, was kinda crowded, but rides weren't too bad. Have fun dude!!
HEY girl, glad you are back. I was wondering how your trip was going. I can't wait for you to start you TR. I heard it was HOT and kinda crowded. I am hoping by next week it won't be so crowded, but I think I am out of luck.

I was shocked at the crowds, but didn't wait more then 30 mins for much, but there wasn't much air moving. Have to wait for the TR for the rain reviews!! You know how much I just LOVE rain at disney!! HAHAHAHAHA I got LOTS of pictures to upload, so it'll take a while, and I'll start that in the morning. I'm glad to be home, sorry for it to be over, but glad to be home!

As long as the waits aren't bad I can deal with it. I kinda figured it was going to be crowded though because there are NO openings at the restaurants.

Hey! Dana
SEVEN DAYS!!!! :dancer:
maybe it will be slower when ya'll go! right now around the country is fall break for so many schools! I really can't wait to hear how it will be, since that is one of the weeks we are kinda considering for next year! :confused3
sorry to hear how Dale is dragging his feet!:guilty: we had a similiar conversation about that this morning. I woke up at 6:45 prepared a few biscuits, took a shower, got dressed, packed Ashton's bag (trying to stop calling it a diaper bag since we don't carry diapers any longer :yay:--pullups and big boy undies), dressed Ashton...all Danny had to do was pack the icechest (which I had everything but the ice ready for him), shower and dress...Ashton and I were sitting waiting on him:rolleyes1
so exciting after this week ya'll will be in DISNEY!!!!!:cheer2:

I can't believe my response is gone. I responded last night and poof it is gone :sad2:.
I can't wait to get there. I am really looking forward to staying at Pop and seeing what the resort is all about. It will be our 5th different resort. I keep hoping the weather cools off, but so far no go.
I told Dale this morning he was going to HAVE to lay out what he wants packed so I can get it in the suitcase. I refuse to wait until Friday to get his stuff packed.
:thumbsup2 WTG Austin :thumbsup2. I remember the days of not having to pack a diaper bag anymore. It was WONDERFUL. Dallas did real well with his pull-ups. I used the "One day, $75" theory of potty training and it WORKED. I have to tell this story even if it makes me sound like a bad Mommy. We were
on our way to Pensacola one Saturday to do some Christmas shopping. Dallas was 3. Half way there Dallas said he needed to pee pee and we were on the Interstate between Mobile and Pensacola. I told him he was going to have to wait until we made it to the rest area. He said he couldn't, so I, the bad Mommy, told him to just pee pee in his pull-up and I would change it when we got to the rest area :scared1:. He told me that he couldn't do that, he was a big boy now :lmao:.
Next Sunday, at this time, I will be in Disney World :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Don and I always get sick when we are going somewhere. Esp. cruises. We finally figured out it's because we are so busy and not getting enough rest. Then all the hurry up and go. We learned to leave a day early and spend the night at the cruise town so we can sleep in the next day and not feel that rush. Besides, it extends the vacay too.
Hope you feel better really quick.

We pulling into the parking lot at 12:44. We came in a different way, SR-429, it was great. There was no traffic and we bypassed the I-4 mess. Ok, so I had done my online check in and when we walked into the lobby it was MOBBED with people in line to check in :scared1:. I kept looking for the sign that said online check in and found it at the very end of the counter. We got in line and was second on line. We didn't wait long at all, maybe 5 minutes. She took my information and within 10 minutes we were pulling into the parking lot of our building and our room was READY . We are in the 80's section and Dallas loves the Rubik's cube stairs. I have some pictures, but I will have to upload them later. We are on the third floor but right next to the stairs and elevator and the computer pool. After unloading the car we headed to the food court for some lunch. I had the shrimp lo mien, tie dyed cheese cake, and water, Dallas had.......can you guess? Yes, pizza with a chocolate milk. He got chocolate cake, but didn't eat it and Dale had......can you guess this one? Yeah, a hamburger, FF, and the cheese cake. It was pretty decent. After eating we headed back to the room so we could change and get in our bathing suits. Dale didn't want to so swimming so Dallas and I went to the pool for a while and it was nice. I got a little sun. Dallas and I showed and decided it was time for a nap before our dinner at the Plaza. I set the clock for 5:15 and I got up and finished getting ready and then got Dallas up. Dale was ready and watching the Alabama football game..........ROLL TIDE. We got to Plaza at 6:45 for our 7:00 ADR. We were called AT 7:00. The food was fantastic as always. I got the club, Dallas had a grilled cheese and Dale had the grilled chicken sandwich. We left Plaza and went to ride TTA I am so glad it was open again, I love that ride. After TTA we did Buzz and was going to head over to PoC, but Dallas said he was tired so we decided to come back to the room. Since the parade was running we had to find a place to sit and wait. As we were headed out of the park the Skies parted and the waters came, I don't mean it rained, I mean buckets of water was being dumped on us. Walking in the parking lot the water was up to our ankles :sad2:. Oh well so much for hoping it doesn't rain on us this trip :sad1:. All in all it was a very good day. I am more than tired because I am running on diet coke since I have only had about 2-3 hours in the last 24. I think I am going to hit the hay. I have a wake up call set for 8am and it is "Ohana tomorrow and a meet up at AK with Christie. I will try to upload some pictures tomorrow. Nite nite my good friends.

Isn't online check in the best. It sure does cut down on the time you spend waiting in line.
Such adventurous eaters you guys are!:rotfl: Sounds a lot like what we eat when we are in Disney (or anywhere for that matter).
Sorry to hear that it rained buckets! Maybe the weather will be better tomorrow.
Thanks for taking the time to check in with those of us stuck at home!

I am so bad. I know I promised daily updates and pictures :sad2:. It is taking a little less than FOREVER to load the picutres to photobucket.
Ok, so now it is Monday and I have to give Sunday's report. We started the day at 8:00am because we had to wash the clothes that got SOAKED Saturday night. The laundry is not too far from our room so it wasn't a big deal. Ok, I have to insert and add here PUREX HAS THE GREATEST PRODUCT EVER!!! Can you tell I love the all in one sheets? Laundry done, everybody ready we head to the Poly for our 11:15 ADR at 'Ohana. We got there with time to spare and when I went to check in the line was HORRIBLE :scared1: . I waited 5-10 minutes JUST to check in. I was handed a piece of paper and told they had ran out of pagers so they would call my name. I went and had a seat with Dale and Dallas and we waited for what seemed forever. Since Christie and I had planned a meet for today, and I knew she was already at AK, I sent her a text and explained the waiting. We were finally seated and have a very nice view(if my pictures ever load I will post them :sad2:.) Our waitress came and poured us our Stitch juice, YUMMY. We waited a little and then the food came. It was good, but our waitress was HORRIBLE. The table on our left had about 10 people seated at it and she spent all of her time there. I ordered a diet coke to go with my food and I think it took her 15+ minutes to bring it to me, meantime she was at the table next to us twice during this time. We ran out of food and she just would not come back. Dale finally waved her down and asked for more food. Again, it took her forever to bring it. The character interaction was OK though, Stitch scared me TWICE. He came up behind me and I didn't see him because my seat was facing the window. It was sweet the way I got a kiss though. Dallas didn't want to join in on the konga line so he just sat and watched. Our waitress brought Dallas a cupcake and card for his birthday celebration and we finally payed and left. I called Christie and let her know we were FINALLY on our way.
OK, so sorry, but I have got to get off here and get some sleep. I am EXHAUSTED. I hope my pixs will finish uploading over night and I will try to post them tomorrow and finish day 2, boy I am getting behind soooooo bad.

Dale and Dallas thought it was funny that he was able to scare me twice.......:lmao: yeah, let's laugh at Mom's expense. I don't think it would have been so bad if she hadn't spent so much time at the table next to us. We still left her 18% but 18% of our $61 was a lot less than the 18% she was going to get from that table.
The weather is great today :thumbsup2 Very sunny, still hot, but not opressive. The humidity is low.

We left Orlando at 9am EST and made it to the doctor's office at 4:30pm CST. We had a confirmed Swine Flu test. He was started on Tamiflu and I gave him a breathing treatment and some motrin so he is sleeping now. I guess my updates may be more sporadic for the next several days.

Dana,
Hi :wave2:. I've been lurking on your TR and I just had to come out of lurkdom to say that the swine flu went through our family. My DD17 was at church camp about a month ago. She called me one evening at around 10:30P.M. to say that she thought that she might be getting sick (just a little tickle in her throat). By midnight that night (only 90 minutes later, mind you) the camp nurse called me and said that my DD's temp was 105 and she was taking her to the E.R. on oxygen and to meet them there :scared1:!
Long story short... DD started Tamiflu, next day the whole family started Tamiflu, I got it, no one else did, we've all recovered.
I later found out that at least half of the kids at camp ended up with swine flu.
Its not to be messed with. Its highly contagious and makes you miserable. First you're afraid you're gonna die, then you're afraid you're not!
Prayers and pixiedust: to Dallas.

Thank you everyone for being such great friends. I know that God will see us through this and we will be victorious. My main concern with Dallas is his asthma. I have been taking his temp every 2 hours and keeping a record of temps and meds. I want to monitor his progress through this illness. This stuff is VERY serious. It strikes with such speed you don't have time to try and ward it off.
Here is the time line for Dallas.
Thursday morning up at 7:30 and off to Epcot by 9:00. Spent the day at Epcot and ended the day at 6:00pm eating dinner at Electric Umbrella. NO SIGNS of feeling bad.
Back to room by 6:45ish and baths and showers. Watching TV, playing DS, and NO complaints, eating candy from MNSSHP.
10:00pmish Dallas ready for sleep, a little early, but it had been a long day.
10:30pmish me and Dale going to bed.
2:00amish Me waking up with stomach cramps, OH NO, bad crab cake at Epcot, go back to bed and Dallas says he is cold, tell him to snuggle up to me because I am cold too.
A little later, maybe 30-45 minutes, Dallas wakes me up and says he has a sore throat and that he is is freezing, check and feel that he is burning up. Give him some motrin, no thermometer, that is what I forgot to pack :sad2:. Go back to sleep and Dallas and I both wake at 7:30amish and he says he has to throw up. I wake Dale and tell him Dallas is sick. Dallas asked "What are we going to do today then?" Dale says "Go home". I had already packed everything but what we would use for Friday and Saturday. We had already put one suitcase in the car. We dressed, packed up everything else, loaded the car and we drove to the front of the Pop. I went into the food court and got us 2 cinnamon rolls, one croissant, 3 apple juices, 2 lemon aides, one chocolate milk, two rice crispy Mickey heads, one box of Nila Wafers, one box of Nutter Butters and a bag of Chip and Dale pretzels all TO GO......I used up my snack credits and checked out with a TS and CS still on the plan........LOL. I checked us out and we were on the road by 9:05am.
I am blessed that I work with the Pediatricians so I do have a little inside pull. When we got to Gainesville at about 9:30 CST I called and spoke to a friend, that works for the pediatric group I use, and explained the situation to her, she got me a late appointment for 4:30pm. Now we are at least 6 hours away from home in Gainesville. We stop and make our usual stops for food, gas and bathroom breaks. Dallas slept most of the way home. We had to stop in Crestview, Fl to get more Motrin and Tylenol, and of course I had to buy the Monsters and Aliens movie for him. At 4:05pm we hit the Bayway on I-10 and my phone rings. It is Nancy from the doctors office seeing if we are gonna make it or if she needs to tell Dr. Nobles she needs to wait for us? I told Nancy we were on our way and we were gonna make it.
So, I signed us in at the doctor's office at.............................................. 4:29pm...........LOL. We sit for about 30 minutes and we were called back. They did a strep test and a H1N1 test. We waited and the nurse came to move us to another room and since she knew me she told me "the test is positive". Dr. Nobles came in and of course confirmed it. She was really surprised that we got to the office so soon after his first symptoms. We got
the Tamiflu prescription filled right away and at 6pm he had his first dose. Last night I spent the night alternating between, sleeping, praying, taking Dallas' temp and giving meds.
He is doing good today. When his temp starts going up he feels bad, but, THANKS BE TO GOD, he is doing good.

Dana, glad to hear Dallas is doing better now that he is home. Hope this passes as quickly as it hit...we went to Silver Slipper tonight with our neighbors across the street and she works for a peds office. She also said that her 17 yr old son had Swine last week; he could not take the tamiflu--made him vomit and he felt worse until it wore off. He did need to use a nebulizer for two days (he had pneumonia last year-so his lungs became inflammed quickly).
Pray it goes as quickly as it hit...(said that already, sorry)

I knew this mess hit quick, but I didn't know it hit that quick. I had been doing everything I could to keep it away, hand washing(we went through 2 bottles of hand sanitizer while we were at Disney), I sprayed everything in the room down with Lysol and used Lysol wipes, we have been taking every vitamin known(the vitamin D thing doesn't work) so I don't know what else we could have done to avoid it. Well, I guess we could have stayed home :scared1: NOT. There were lots of people coughing and sneezing and not covering :scared1::eek::sick::sad2:.
Thank you for the prayers Connie, they are greatly appreciated.

Thanks Leanne . It scares me too for the same reason. I have only had to give Dallas one treatment, but his nebulizer and albuterol are at my side of the bed(he has been sleeping with me so he doesn't expose Tyler too much). Thanks for praying for us, there can never be enough prayers going up.

First, I am so sorry to hear the flu caught you. Second, I couldn't wait to tell you that I saw ya'll Saturday the 26th. It was in MK during the mass exodus on Main Street after Spectro. We were standing on the corner by Casey's watching the crowd pass (we stayed and watched Wishes in the downpour) and I saw Dale in the crowd. I thought to myself "that guy looks familiar." Then I saw you next to him and then I saw Dallas, and realized "hey, that's them!" But at the moment I could only remember Dallas's name. I almost called it out, but I thought how weird would it be for someone to start screaming your kid's name. You might get a little nervous. By the time I remembered Dale, then Dana, ya'll were out of range.

Thanks Ginny, Dale is denying that he has anything going on, but he keeps calling telling me about his new symptoms . Men :sad2:. It really does hit fast and when it hits it packs a punch. I am feeling worse today, so I guess I will go to the doctor tomorrow.

Thank you, I'm glad ya'll didn't get sick. It is really nasty.
If you had called out we would have turned around. Dale is hard to miss in a crowd though........lol. That rain was horrible. When we walked to the parking lot, water was up to my ankles :scared1:. We were soaked to the flesh. We heard the fireworks going off when we got to the TTC. We couldn't believe they were firing them in that downpour. The picture of the blue Castle, with the orb behind it, was that night.

Hey Ginny, I have been so bad about not coming over here. I just get so addicted to FB. Dallas feels like himself again with a few lingering symptoms. I still have a bad cough and sore throat, and if I try to do too much it hits me HARD. I break out in a horrible cold sweat, get short of breath, have chest pains and very nauseated. Dale has been doing great. I thought he was coming down with it because he complained Monday of a few symptoms, but he has been fine. Maybe it was sympathy symptoms :lmao:. I can't wait to get back to Disney. I don't know if we are gonna go at Christmas. Dale and Dallas want to spend Christmas here. I want to thank all of my friends for their prayers and keep us in your thoughts. Here is my take on the H1N1 situation.
After doing everything in my power to keep us well, and not bring home this little souvenir, I have come to the firm conclusion that there is nothing we can do to protect ourselves from H1N1, short of staying locked in our homes not letting anyone in or out. I took several bottles of hand sanitizer, Lysol spray, Lysol wipes, and hand wipes with us. We have been taking multi- vitamins, vitamin C and Omega 3 to try and boost our immune systems. We even took them while at Disney. Now, wait I need to correct that, Dallas and I have been taking all of these, NOT Dale. I have always pushed hand washing because I know that is the best defense against getting sick or spreading sickness. I sprayed down everything in the room and wiped down what I couldn't spray. We went through 2 bottles of hand sanitizer along with the hand wipes and hand washing. I wiped down several of the CS tables we sat at to make sure they were clean. All of that is now a mote point, of course, since Dallas and I both got H1N1. And this is why........There were people coughing and sneezing all around us and not bothering to cover, or better yet, stay away from the parks. Of course you are in close proximity to other people on the rides, monorails, buses, waiting on line, during shows, in restaurants, pretty much everywhere you go at Disney. Right? Here are the facts. A sneeze can travel at the speed of 100 mph and the droplets can spread in a radius of up to 5 feet. The H1N1 virus can live on a hard surface for up to 8 hours. There is really no way to keep our hands totally clean and sanitized without wearing gloves.
Example: You go take a potty break and afterwords you wash your hands. If you do it correctly you go ahead and dispense your paper towel before you wash. It is good that Disney has motion sensor water taps so you don't have to turn the water off. So you scrub your hands while singing Happy Birthday, or about 15 seconds. You tear off your towel, drying your hands well and throw the towel in the trash then head for the door :scared1: THE DOOR, OH NO, now my hands are contaminated AGAIN. The door handles in and out of a bathroom are actually where the most germs can be found.
I hate to say this, but it is the inconsiderate, rude, nasty, uncaring people who don't care if they infect others or not. That is how things like H1N1 are spread so rampant. I know a Disney trip is expensive and I know people want to squeeze every last penny out of their trip, but not at the expense of others. People are dying from H1N1 and it is hitting our children harder than any other age group. Is there anything Disney can do about sick people in the parks? NO, and it isn't their place to enforce common decency. I personally was closed up on Mission Space with a family that showed no concern for me. The Mom and daughter(looked about 13) were sneezing and not covering. They were too interested in pushing the buttons for our "mission". I hope I'm not stepping on any toes as that is not my intentions. My friends know me and they know my intentions are to educate and inform not to anger.
Anybody that has a trip coming up, I say GO have fun and hopefully you will not get sick and if you do, for the sake of someones child, PLEASE stay in your room.
OK, I will step off this soapbox now.

I kinda feel bad now. We didn't do any of that and we didn't get sick. I wash my hands after the bathroom out of habit, but I'm even a little embarassed to say that I don't make a point of washing before eating (unless I happen to be hitting the bathroom right before eating - you know the best way to get the food to come out is for someone to go to the bathroom). No wipes, no hand sanitizer, no vitamins. I have no theory for how it worked out the way it did. Just glad ya'll are starting to feel better.

I know what you mean about feeling wiped out for days. I dragged around after I "recovered" for about a week.
And you're right about this virus... its very contagious. My DD caught it at camp. Schools are a prime area for spread, too. But what are you gonna do? Never leave the house?

I think it is just an individuals immune response. Stress can lower your immunity and boy do I stress when I am planning a Disney trip. You would think I would have a stone wall immunity since I work in a hospital :confused3.
Thank you too. We are feeling better except for the lingering fatigue and shortness of breath. That will pass eventually.

I think the fatigue is the worst part. When I am sitting around I feel like a million bucks, when I get up and try to do anything I realize I am not totally well.
It is just weird that this virus spreads so much quicker, and easier, than seasonal flu. We have been to Disney right in the middle of flu season many times and didn't get the flu. Someone may get a cold or sinus. In 2007 I got strep throat and the return of a sinus infection. The sinus infection of course isn't contagious and I had just finished seeing the doctor for that a week or so before we went. What was so sad about that trip is the day I started getting a sinus headache we had plans to go to Race Rock on I-drive. I loved that place. Well, we went, but of course I didn't eat my food, my head was about to explode.....lol. In 2008 when we went we found out that Race Rock had closed :sad1:.
Anyway, sorry I got so wordy, I am hoping those of us who have had this will build an immunity. I didn't plan on getting the vaccine anyway. I am paranoid of drugs they churn out so fast and I remember the Swine flu vaccine debacle in 1976.

You are right Ginny. I think we may have really ruined our immune systems by not allowing ourselves to build natural immunity. I remember talking to an Infectious disease doctor one day and he said all of this anti-bacterial soap and wipes and so forth are doing us more harm than good. That regular soap and water was all we needed.

You know, I work in a molecular lab and our pathologist said the same thing...he wasn't getting the vaccine, and for the same reason that you stated... it has been rushed into release too soon. Of course, he thinks that he already had the H1N1 2009 anway...just like me! I figured if thats what he's gonna do, then its probably a good idea. Besides, I don't work directly with patients anyway.

I am not a paranoid person, usually...lol, but I just think they are pushing this WAY to much. It is on the news every night. They don't push the seasonal flu shot like that and just as many people die from seasonal flu as they say will die from H1N1. I would just like to know how they came up with a vaccine so fast for H1N1, but it takes them YEARS to discover other vaccines, meds etc?

Thank you Lisa. I am so thankful to all of my friends for keeping us in your prayers. I was so worried about Dallas having it since he has asthma and the secondary infections are what is dangerous. I go back to work Thursday and it is going to seem weird since I have been off for 3 weeks now. I will be glad to get back though. Thank you Ginny. I borrowed the costume from a friend that is in a Mardi Gras Society. It was the HOTTEST piece of clothing I have ever worn in my life. I thought I was going to have a heat stroke. It is made of silk and, if I didn't know better, I would say it was lined with wool and down feathers.......:lmao:. If I am ever in a blizzard I know what I need to be wearing.
The only trip, so far is going to be the one in Feb or March. The date under Amanda's picture is her college graduation date and under Tyler's is his 21st birthday. You sure can joint us. Amanda won't be going either because she will be in her last semester. I hope work is good too! It is nice to be feeling better :worship:.

Hi! Dana
Feb will be a nice time of year; I really want to go the first week of Feb but the money! with all that has happened and all that will take place.... so Nov it is for us!!! I really want to add a lot to our next trip, too! So, Nov gives me more time to plan and save!! maybe if ya'll do AP's again next year you can meet us than and see it for Christmas with us!!
I can see Tyler's caption now, I don't know how to get it to line up...I usually play with it for a while before I get how I want it!

I have been playing around with prices too to see when it would be a good time for us to go. I know we won't be adding the DDP. Have ya'll see the prices for next year :scared1::eek:.
Regular Dining plan
1/01-2/11, 4/11-6/3, 8/15-12/16
41.99 for adults, 11.99 for kids 9 and under
2/12-4/10, 6/4-8/14, 12/17-12/31
46.99 adults, 12.99 for kids
Quick Service
31.99 adults, 9.99 kids- no change for dates
Deluxe
71.99 for adults, 20.99 for kids, no price change for dates
And there is nothing special added to the DDP during the price hike times. I just can't justify spending that much knowing we would not eat $141 a day in food. If they offer free dining again next year we may do it then, but not pay for it especially knowing Dallas eats off the kids menu. If we eat at a TS I will use my TiW card and get a 20% discount anyway.
I am planning on doing the APs again. They are great :thumbsup2. Dallas mentioned going next year in November so I could see the Christmas lights . He is such a sweetie.
I kept playing with the siggie line and I just finally made Tyler's picture smaller so the dates would show.

I had figured last year the DDP was not worth is for us! We are probably going to add it to our next trip just because I want to do a sit down a day! three breakfast and two dinners! when I did the numbers it worked out to be the same price just about so I will add it. But, we enjoyed eating when and where we wanted last time (it was alot easier with a tot and teen that way!) and I have said many of times being from louisiana we normally not impressed with food in other states; that is why I am choosing character type sit downs not for the food but for the experience.
Now, I can't see any of your pictures :confused3

When you are going it only goes up by $2 per person so that isn't bad, but for it to go up $7 per person when we go, and knowing Dallas orders off the kids menu, I just can't see adding it. There were some days we didn't go much over $100, especially the days we had character meals. The buffets are not too expensive anyway so with the TiW card we would come out much better that the price of the DDP. I will just put the dining money on a prepaid card and use it so I won't have to keep up with the cash. I will make us an ADR for Grand Floridian Cafe again for sure :thumbsup2. I'm not even too sure we will stay on Disney's property. I am waiting to see what they offer AP holders :surfweb:.

Now that we are pretty much mended here I will continue with my TR I started while at Disney.
When I left off we were on our way to AK to meet up with Christie and her DS Tyler. We decided to meet at Discovery Island. As we crossed the bridge I could see Christie and Tyler. We decided to ride KS and headed to Africa. Now with it being late September you would have thought it would be much cooler, but NOOOOOOOOOO it was hot...... AFRICA HOT. We made a pit stop on the way and took a couple of pictures.
Two very handsome young men!!!(That did not want their picture taken)

Me and Christie. She is the sweetest person and very easy to be around.

We got on line and Christie and I talked while Tyler and Dallas did their boy thing, Dale just followed..........LOL. Honestly I don't remember how long we waited because Christie and I were talking. I don't think it was too long though.
I got some pretty good pictures, well I think I did :confused3.

Dallas and I waited in the gift shop as it was so hot outside we wanted to be in the AC. I tried to take a "redneck" picture of their ride pic, but it didn't turn out :sad2:. After they got off EE we started walking toward Dinoland and it started raining. Dale, Dallas and I put on ponchos while Christie and Tyler were much smarter and walked in the cool rain. By the time we got to DL it had stopped raining and now Dale, Dallas and I were steaming hot. We decided to ride Dinosaur. Tyler and Dallas didn't' really want to ride, but they were out voted. It was very cool on the ride because of the AC. After we got off it was still raining a little and it wasn't long before the park closed. We looked around in a shop and then said our goodbyes. We had a wonderful time with Christie and Tyler and I sure hope we get to see them again when we go back.
We headed back to the room and decided to call it a day. We all got showers and then decided we were hungry. I called and ordered a pizza to be delivered to the room. We paid for it OOP. It was a decent pizza, not as good as Flippers, but it was good. It is funny because if my crew had their way we would eat pizza 7 days a week.
I don't think I posted many pictures from 'Ohana so here are some pix from there.
They brought us this bread before we got our skillet of food.

I was brave enough to ride Soarin', but I don't think I will ever get up the nerve to ride EE. The food at 'Ohana was really good. The whole thing just started off wrong and keep getting worse. They overbooked it so bad.
If you look you will see some of the people standing around waiting and that was because all the chairs in the lobby area and at the bar were full.

I thought Pluto was funny too. He was really getting into it. I don't know that we will eat there again because of the service. We have kinda grown tired of the character meals anyway since Dallas is getting older. We had Tusker House booked too, but I canceled it because Dallas and Dale said they didn't want to do another character breakfast. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, it was scheduled for the morning we ended up having to leave :sad1:.

I need to post a poll like Connie to see when we should go next year. I want to go in February because of course it will be here sooner. The first week in March would include my birthday and the last week of April would mean the prices have come back down. Our APs are good until May 16th so we are covered with tickets during that whole time. The 4/3 or 5/2 doesn't help as we don't need the tickets and the room rates are crazy high without the tickets because you can't even change it to a one day ticket and get the deal. I am hoping for a really good AP deal, but so far I haven't seen anything for next year. Amanda will be graduating on May 8th and if she doesn't have a full time job she may want to go with us and that would throw us in right at about the same time we went this past May. I am leaning toward going in February and staying off property. The only Disney transportation we use is the monorail or ferry and with the AP we don't have to pay to park, and I won't pay the price of the DDP in February. I just can't justify $47 each when Dallas eats off the kids menu. There are so many variables involved in this trip like...........will Tyler go or not? Will Amanda go or not? Will we take Niko or not? Do we go in February, March, April or May? Where do we stay? On property or off?
Well, Amanda just said she wouldn't go so that variable is out.......:lmao:.
I am going to try and figure out how to post a poll.

Hey! Dana
I voted for the week in March; the other week I would consider is May. The reason I did not choose Feb. was because that is Mardi Gras/President's week...it is predicted to be a very busy week! We had thought about going for MG until we found out it was also PW! bad combo!
I voted for CBR! I don't remember you ever saying ya'll stayed there; so I thought somewhere new and I thought maybe Dallas would like a pirate room and the pirate theme of the resort...before he gets too old!
Hope my opinion helps!

It does help Connie. We have never stayed a CBR and I really want to try it.
I am at work so I haven't been about to really crunch the numbers like I want, but from what I have done CBR would only be about $150 more than Pop for the week. I think the pirate room was $129 more? We LOVED Pop, but I want to try each resort at least one time. I'm not too sure when a deluxe will fit into the picture :lmao:.
We have actually gone several times during PW and Mardi Gras and didn't find it to be too crowded, not anymore so than May. We like it at that time because it is much cooler :goodvibes.

I am wanting to go when the weather is just warm enough to get in the pool and not so hot that you can't stand out in it for long. I swear it seemed hotter 2 weeks ago than it did when we were there in July :scared1:. I am having the Disney withdrawals bad now that I am feeling better. I really don't want to stay off site, but if it is the difference in going or not, off site it will be.
Thank you Connie, Ginny and Christie for the votes so far. I have even been pricing going room only with AAA. I wish Disney would hurry up and come out with the AP prices :surfweb:.

Of course you know I'd vote for the CBR. I really think Dallas would enjoy it and you and Dale too. I, personally, think the extra $150.00 is worth it. Two sinks, more room, free fridge, etc. There's also a marina and beaches. The main pool has been redone. It's just a nice place to stay.
Hum....not quite sure what I'd say about when to go. If it were me, I'd probably still keep the May times in mind just in case Amanda changes her mind.

I called Disney and they would not let me use the code on Mousesavers(well the CM I spoke with anyway). She said I had to had gotten a pin code in the mail or email. I asked her if she could try the code on Mousesavers and said she could not :scared1:. I am going to call back later. I am at work so it is hard to be on hold for too long. I am really getting discouraged with Disney today. I am just ranting right now I know, but it doesn't matter what I do I can't seem to get a pin. Wait, I'm wrong, I got the pin earlier this summer for free dining for a child 3-9. Now, I KNOW for a FACT Disney knows how old Dallas is because they have his birth date and when I booked one of our trips it came after his birthday and the CM corrected me as to how old he would be on the trip. The only AP rates they have right now are with pin codes. AAA has a great deal for the week of February 5-11 and I think I may book through them so I can lock in the good price. I really thought by getting the APs I would get some good deals on rooms too........grrrrrrrrrrrr:headache:.

I've missed SO much & have to get caught up, but I am voting CBR & May. CBR for the pirate rooms (I've only seen photos, but they look awesome), the pool, the food court, the boats- (remind me to show you my "boat rage" face photo), & the gift shop/ arcade. I've stayed there a couple of times & LOVED it. I love the beautiful landscaping & opportunities for nice walks as well as the convenient location. I voted for May so you miss the school vacation weeks & the college spring break week- which I know doesn't get too bad, but the May weather rocks in WDW! It is one of my favorite times & you may catch some Star Wars weekend activities!
Now I have to catch up on your TR- I missed WAY too much!

Thanks Connie . I think I am just tired, we were really busy today at work. I asked the CM today when the AP rates might come out and she said she didn't know. AAA rates for the week of 2/5-2/11 for Pop is $82 a night, CBR $127 and ASMovies is $78. That is a little better than rack rate, but not much. I guess I will wait a few more days to see what happens.

So after a good Sunday, hot though it was, we had an early ADR at Crystal Palace on Monday, September 28. It was for 8:20am and we were running about 10 minutes late. We pulled out of Pop parking lot at 7:55 and I knew we were not going to make it to CP by 8:20 :scared1:. We were at the TTC at 8:10 and I figured we would be about 5 minutes late so not so bad. We make it up the monorail ramp just as one was pulling out :sad2:. Not a problem right? They run pretty quick and one usually pulls up not long after one leaves right? WELLLLLLLLLLL not this time. We waited about 10 minutes and NO MONORAIL. I am getting really antsy because I hate to be late for anything and now we are at our ADR time. So, FINALLY, a train shows up and everybody is ready to get on. But, NOOOOOOOOOO, they do not open the doors  WHAT IS GOING ON? After another 5 minutes or so they change drivers and they open the doors. Everybody loads up, and by now of course, the cars are full. So we are off to the MK..........NOT. We sit for another 5 minutes or so before we slowwwwwwwly start moving. As we are heading to the MK we stop just short of the station and sit, and we wait, and wait, and wait, and...........LET ME OFF THIS THING................. So, FINALLY, we pull into the station and it is now 8:35 :scared1::sad2::sad1:. It took us 25 minutes to get from the TTC to the MK. We get our bags checked and go into the park and I start the mad sprint toward CP and Dale says "Why hurry now? We are already late. What difference is a couple of minutes going to make?" Of course he is right, but do I let him know that? I DON'T THINK SO.
I do have to get a picture while walking toward CP.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20September%202009/DSCF3815.jpg
So, we get to CP and check in at 8:45 , I can not believe we are 25 minutes late. Not a problem though because they had overbooked here too. A family sitting across from us on the benches said their ADR was for 8:30 and they had gotten there at 8:15 and were still waiting . I don't know if they overbook or if it just takes sooooooooo long for the characters to make it around the restaurant. That is why we may not do character breakfasts anymore.
These are all pictures taken while waiting.

At about 9:10 or so they finally call our name and we head in.
This was on our table
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20September%202009/DSCF3821-1.jpg
I thought that was a nice touch. Dale and Dallas wanted coffee so the waiter brought us a pot of coffee and some orange juice. I ordered a diet coke and Dallas ordered some chocolate milk, and it took a while before we got that, but it was OK. I didn't take any pictures of the food, but it was good.
These are the only two characters that made it to our table. I asked Dallas if he wanted to wait and see Pooh and Tigger and he said "Naaaaaaah, let's go so somebody else doesn't have to wait like we did".............aweeeeeee. He just earned a souvenir.

Dallas wanted to head to Adventureland and ride a few things so over we went. We stopped at a Kiosk to get me a new ticket holder for my lanyard. One of the new ones has a ziploc type closure and it is configured from top to bottom instead of side to side. If you look at the picture of Dale and Dallas waiting at CP you will see it on Dale's lanyard. I love it. It is so easy to get the tickets in and out of. We had several CM's ask us where we had gotten them because they wanted one. Dallas wanted to ride JC so we got in line and waited.
Here are just a few of the pix I took while waiting

After JC we rode PoC and decided to go over to Epcot because we were going to be in MK again Tuesday night for MNSSHP. We headed for the front of the park and back to the TTC.
Up next. The sad phone call I got while at Epcot.

I am like you. I hate to be late. Before we would head out for our ressies. I would get the confirm # and phone # in case something happened I could at least call. I so love that pic of you and Dallas. JC pix are cute. That has been the same for years. I'll never forget the first time I rode back in 75. I am aging myself aren't I?
I hate sad phone calls when on vacay. I hope it's not terrible.
Lovely update.

It totally makes me crazy to be running late. Thanks about the pix. I think Dallas is a cutie, but then I may be a little prejudice . I agree about the JC. I rode it for the first time in 1986 and nothing has changed, but ya know? I think that is the good thing about it. JC and CoT are still original Disney and that makes them great!!!!!
I will post the phone call news in my next post. It is a long story :surfweb:.

It took me a while to get caught up! I'm glad you are feeling better (& Dallas, too!). it is AWFUL to get sick on vacation...It happened to me, too. I was sick pretty much the whole time. I'm going solo in January to make up for it...sort of. I still missed out on quality time with John.
I'm looking forward to more photos & more reporting!
You, Lisa, Ginny, Connie, & (Jen & more!) I should plan a long weekend next fall! hahaha I wish we could! The F & W kickoff weekend would rock!
Please keep us posted on how you guys are doing. I hope you feel 110% ASAP.

I think I am going to change my dates to March 5th through 12th. Even if I don't get a good AP rate the 4/3 or 5/2 are a pretty good deal. I could even do pretty good if I go room rate with AAA. The price difference between CBR and Pop is about $125 or so if I go with Disney's 4/3 and that would give us 7 day tickets. The price difference for room only on AAA has a much higher difference between the two, but it would come out less than going with the 4/3. I know that is really confusing :confused3. I also contacted Dreams Unlimited to see if a TA can get the AP rate and she sent me an email today saying it was confusing to her that it confirmed me as an AP holder, but was giving rack rates :confused3. She said she was going to try again Sunday and Monday to see if something was wrong in the system. I am really having Disney withdrawals and planning a trip is my methadone, or should I say mouseadone?............:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:.

HAHA funny dude!!! We're planning a weekend early in Dec, well, not really a weekend, probably just one day, but to ride Space Mtn after it opens. IF Chris isn't at a school. Our last ticket expires on the 23rd, so we want to see the new sm. It was running when we were there last week, just tests tho, when we rode TTA, we saw a car going up the lift...the cars are new, and look like the old ones, but different color, not the glow stuff on the side LOL Ya'll should come down here and go with us, you can stay with us here at the house so you can meet Chris, and the boys can play!!! That way, you get to see the Christmas decorations, without all the people, and still be home for the holiday!!! I'll let ya know what weekend I'm looking at maybe tomorrow. Sound good? I got PLENTY of room!! :)

I may get up the nerve to ride SM. We rode BTM and Dallas and I loved it. I know SM is totally different since it is in the dark, but I may get brave :rotfl2:. When we rode TTA I took some pictures when we went through SM. You could hear them working behind the wall. Thank you Christie, that is so sweet . I will mention it to Dale. I don't mind doing a quick weekend trip. A lot to times we will drive to Talladega, to see a race, and drive up and back in the same day. It is a 5 1/2 hour drive to go there.
:confused3

I don't know, that is really strange to me too :confused3. Thanks Connie I hope we can get a good rate.

Wow...Long drive just for a race!! But, hey, staying with me, at least you don't have to shell out $$ for a hotel....then we can play cards, and cook out on the grill, or whatever! We cook on the grill ALOT! SM isn't a big deal, really, it doesn't go very fast, the biggest thrill of it is it's in the dark. I'm just hoping it's smoother once it's redone. We did ride that new one at universal yesterday, it's REALLY cool!! Chris just left...so maybe I'll go do an update!! LOL Let me know what you think about coming here. We do have park hoppers for our last day, so we don't HAVE to be restricted to the MK. :) Anyways, think about it! :)

I pulled out our photo album from our first trip and wanted to scan some of the pictures and add them here, but my scanner isn't working . So, what did I do? I took pictures of pictures.......:lmao:. Dale thought I had lost my mind, but I wanted to post some of them.
Here are some of the pictures from the kids first trip Oct.30-Nov.4, 1999. Please forgive the quality. The acutal pictures are much better.

I don't know what is up with the Crystal Palace lately. We had to wait 30 minutes past our dinner ADR before being seated.
Dallas is a sweetheart for thinking about the waiting people outside. I'd have bought him a souvenir too.

Truth be told, I'd rather carry a fanny pack than anything else. It is just soooo much easier than trying to carry stuff in pockets or a backpack. But, they look so nerdy. I've been pondering whether or not to buy a Vera Bradley "travel pouch". That's a fancy word for fanny pack. Probably won't end up getting it because John absolutely hates fanny packs.

I know what you are saying. I've had my share over the years too. I love Vera Bradley fabrics so I have considered one of those too. Austin has one of those netted gym bags that aren't large. You can do it one armed or backpack style. Then we bought at the Bass Pro these clear plastic bags that you put stuff in and they roll up to close. It works great cause they are waterproof and everything is clear so checking bags is wonderful. I'll see if I can find some pics.
I have a really bright pink one from Circus Circus in Vegas. Would you like to borrow it?

Lacey is so not a girly girl but she loves Vera Bradley but it's expensive. I found a lady on ebay that I have bought a few Vera Bradley things from and her prices are pretty reasonable. I also joined the Vera Bradley email list and just received notice that if you buy $75.00, you get free shipping. It won't be hard to spend $75.00.
It's funny that you mention Circus Circus pink fanny pack. Back when Lacey was in preschool, there was a daycare worker who absolutely adored Lacey. She went to Vegas on vacation and brought back a metallic blue Circus Circus fanny pack for Lacey.

I really like her prints and I have a few items but they have been given to me. I don't see me spending that on myself. Unless it is a new coach purse. Which I am need of. Ha I'll pay shipping if someone will buy it for me.
That is too funny about the fanny pack for Lacey. Why do adults think children would like adult items? I mean it's Vegas for pete's sake.
I must tell you what the Dr. did today. He calls me at home early this morning to tell me he has a friend dying at the hospital. He goes in and out of conciousness and he asked Dr. last nite for donuts from Shipley Donuts. We have none here. They are in Texas, Ark, Tennessee. So I call all the Shipleys this morning finding him a dozen donuts to be overnighted here. They all said no. So, I thought, I'll call my Tim in Tennessee and see if he can get them and ship them over. He never answered his phone. So I call the store and got hold of the nicest man. He said the ups store was next door. He was out of the donuts I wanted but all he had to do was fill some. So he packed them up and had them shipped. Cost $75. I gave him a tip too. They should be here by 10 in the morning. I thought that was pretty nice of him. This is what you can do when you have money.

Last I left off I said I got a sad call when we got to Epcot.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20September%202009/DSCF4062.jpg
Right as we got there we went on SSE and then headed for Test Track. We rode TT and I wanted to do Mission Space, but Dallas nor Dale was interested so I went to ride and they headed for a slushy. Well, I think I rode with the rudest people in the world because the woman and girl were both sneezing while they were in the capsule with me. They were not the only people coughing and sneezing without covering, but I was closed up with them and had nowhere to go :sad2:. So anyway I get off and meet back up with Dale and Dallas and Dallas wants to do Universe of Energy so off we go
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/Disney%20September%202009/DSCF3877.jpg
As we were heading to UoE my cell rang and it was my ex-husband Doug. He and I are still pretty decent friends. We never had children and were only married for 3 1/2 years. So anyway, I answered the phone and he told me his mom had passed away. Doug has never been know for being subtle. I knew she had been sick because he and I had talked the day before we left. His mom was a wonderful person. The saddest thing about where we were when he called was the first time I went to Disney it was Doug, me, his sister, his mother and his father. He had the most wonderful parents anyone could ask for. I think the saddest part of our divorce was losing them as in-laws. His father passed away 8 years ago and I missed his funeral and then of course, I missed his mom's. I did send some flowers, but I wish I could have made it to the funeral and wake. My niece represented my family at the wake. Everybody in my family always liked Doug. It really did put a damper on things because the last time I saw Mrs. Snow was in March. I went to her apartment to give her a couple of vitamin shots and I was suppose to go back in April but I couldn't because I had to take my mom to the doctor when her shots were due. I sure wish I had went and seen her again.
Ok time to get away form the sad part. We rode UoE and walked over to TT and it was down so we went over to see Figment.....lol. Dallas loves the part about smell because Dale can never remember it puffs out skunk smell :lmao:. After riding Figment we walked over to Nemo and rode. By now we were getting tired and we were really hungry. We were going to eat at the food court, but Dallas wanted Flippers pizza. We had to go pick it up so we headed to Flippers pizza on 192 at Old Town. We went in and ordered and waited. It smelled sooooo good in there. We got a pepperoni and a sausage then we headed back to our room. We ate pizza till we were stuffed and then we all got our showers and were ready for bed. For anybody that knows me they all know I had to watch the episode of House before bed. I did get on facebook for a while and spoke with Doug. He was doing pretty good. I have to say I have broadband access with my cell, through Verizon wireless and it is great. I pay $30 a month and I can go online in the car or anywhere.
We were not on any time schedule for Tuesday because we were going to the MNSSHP party and didn't have an ADR until 5:30 pm at Grand Floridian Cafe.
I am off for the next two days so hopefully I can catch up on all my friend's TRs and post more on mine.

I love Epcot. Naughty people on your ride. Shame, Shame. Super sorry about your ex-MIL. That is so hard to not be available when you want to be. MIL's can be wonderful (which mine is) or can be the worst ever (which Don's is).
Enjoy your time off. Well-deserved.

Thank you. It has been one thing after another. I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. For some reason after I loaded my pics to photobucket I didn't seem to take very many :confused3. I read about CP being closed for refurb. It really does need it though. The Tigger and friends planter as you walk in the door, it is getting worn looking.
I spoke with ex-hubby this morning and asked if he had our Disney pictures. I sure hope he looks for them.

I saw that too Connie. I wonder if they will be serving the same food as CP during that time. I do love the breakfast lasagne, yummy.

It was bad Ginny. I can totally understand kids not covering their coughs or sneezes they are kids, but adults are a totally different story. Thanks about my ex-MIL. She was really a special person. Mr. Snow was even better, how they raised Doug I don't know............:lmao:. One of my most fond memories of the Snow's is Christmas. His dad's mother wrote a cookbook and he would bake cookies for Christmas and they were to die for.
I am going to enjoy my off days. I have to work this weekend so I hope it is kinda slow.

Dana, I am so sorry you had to go through a sad time while at Disney. I know it was hard on you.
I know the Flippers location you are talking about. We used to stay near Old Town and had Flippers delivered all the time. The last time we were in Old Town, they looked like they were cleaning it up some. It needed it.

Ugh- those inconsiderate people in MS!! It drives me CRAZY when people don't cover when they sneeze or cough. Great EPCOT pics! Where is Old Town? How far is it from WDW? I'm a pizza freak! Sometimes I go to CiCi's in the plaza right outside of Downtown Disney (not Crossroads, but at the next intersection) because they have a $5 all-you-can-eat pizza buffet with salad & pasta, too! There's also a Giordano's (I think that's what it is called) down the road that serves Chicago-style pizza- which I have to be SUPER hungry to get. I would love to try somewhere new!
I'm so sorry about your ex MIL.

Thank you Lisa. After talking to Doug and knowing that he was OK it was a little better. I just felt so bad that I couldn't be there for him.
They are cleaning up Old Town. It made me think of NO when we parked. There was a band playing, people walking around everywhere, games....etc. It was really cool.

I know, right? I was disgusted that they didn't bother to cover. They were intent on the "mission". Thank you about the pix. I didn't take many that day, but I did our next Epcot day. Old Town in on 192 south east of Disney. As you drive down 192 and you go under I-4 Old Town is on your right, you will pass a Walgreen's on your left. There is a Burger King and a Pizza Hut at the entrance to Old Town and a Comfort Suites behind them. They have a little carnival type midway, with what my kids call an "idiot launcher" :lmao:. It is one of those bungee things that shoots you up in the air. There are several Flipper's pizza places in Orlando. I subscribed to their website......lol. We have pizza every Friday nite in my house so I am kinda burnt out on pizza, but I look very forward to ordering Flipper's every time we go to Disney :goodvibes. They can't deliver on Disney property though so we go and pick it up when we stay on site.....:lmao:

I'm really excited :cool1::banana::yay::woohoo::dance3:. I think I have joined every hotel club known to man and today I got an email from Priority Club(Holiday Inn..etc)with their special offers. I took a look and saw that the Holiday Inn at DTD(on Disney property) is opening in November. They just finished a $35 million dollar renovation. I thought I would see if they had anything for March and WOW they had some great prices. I got us a room for $74 a night. The good thing about it is you get the same perks as a Disney resort. So I have us booked for 6 nights March 5th(my birthday ) thru March 11th. I am really happy with this choice as it is much cheaper than anything Disney is offering. It is across the street from DTD so I think we will eat at some of the DTD places, well except PH. I want to try Rainforest and Dallas REALLY wants to eat at T-Rex. Unless they offer a better deal with the AP this is where we will be staying. I love that it is considered a "Disney Hotel", but doesn't charge the Disney prices.

I think it will be great since they are really new. Unless Disney can come up with something even remotely close this is where we will stay. Kids under 12 eat free so if we decide to eat in the hotel Dallas can eat free, now I may have to take his birth certificate to prove he is under 12......:lmao:.

Wow that sounds like fun. I love staying in a suite cause you get so much room and a fridge/microwave. I think the room at the Holiday Inn at DTD has a fridge in the room, but not a micro which would come in handy with all that left over Flipper's pizza :thumbsup2. We acutally did real well with just an ice chest at Pop. We like to have a cold drink on hand so it is either a fridge or ice chest. We never end up with enough points for free nights because we stay at so many different places.

Just like Aust when he was younger. He ate like a pig.
Sheri also is going to Las Vegas in Jan for a business trip and she got a royal suite at Caesars Palace 1750 sq ft, Living, Dining, full kitchen, 2 baths, grand piano but only one bedroom with King bed. There are 3 of them so someone has to sleep on one of the sofas but got it all for $200 a night. She is the lucky one. I've had several free nights thru Hampton cause that is Don and I generally stay. But we haven't been to a hotel since last December now (Except for Vegas and K.C at Harrahs). Don is making me a stay at home homebody.

I know what you mean. Dallas eats more than I do..........:lmao:.
Wow, her room is bigger than my last house. A lot of the time I forget to add our rewards number to reservations and we don't get points. I did add this one though. I think it is a pretty good deal since it is basically a "new" hotel. The price is great. The only way I would stay at Pop or CBR now is if they can match or beat the price I am getting at HI. I like the idea of a zero entry pool too. If we go in March we will have to go back in May so we can get new APs and use our one day ticket to upgrade. I am planning, planning, planning.........:lmao:. My ex asked me today why we didn't just move to Orlando?

Boy do I feel dumb :upsidedow. I was looking through an email account yesterday, that I never use, and what did I find? A pin code for 4/11-6/3/10. The offer is for 30% off Value, 35% off Moderate, 40% off Deluxe and 45% off Deluxe Villa. I don't know how the code went to that email address because I don't remember ever giving it to Disney. The only kicker is I have to book it by today and it is for later in the year than I wanted to go, but now I think we will go the last week in May so I can see Leanne and Mary. And maybe Amanda can go with us. Maybe we can do a quick weekend trip before then. The other good thing is I can renew my APs then too. I'm at work today so I will have to find the time to call Disney and see what they have.

OK called and got our ressie made for Pop May 24-30. For some reason they were having a hard time with the code, but she finally got it to work :confused3. Total for our room is $519 which I think is a great price for Disney. Now, I will have to cancel the one at HI for March, but that is fine. I like doing room only because you only have to pay one night and don't have to pay the balance until check in . That gives me more time to save up money. I don't have to wait for any AP codes now :woohoo:.

The Dis meet this past May was fun!! It was really stressful when I tried to put the pin in myself and it said it was invalid to try again, so I tried again and it said the same thing and then it transferred me to a CM. It is strange about the email addie I got the pin in and then when I was finishing the ressie the email she had on file was an email address Amanda had when she was in high school, but when she asked for my address it was all correct. I don't have a clue how they got all that information because Amanda has never booked anything with Disney and she said she can't ever remember registering or signing in with that email address :confused3. And if they had her email address on file, why did the pin code come to one of my email addresses? Oh well, I need to stop with the CSI and just be HAP, HAP, HAPPY with the wonderful discount .

The email with the pin is addressed to me, but the reservation has Amanda's name on it. See below

I took the pin code out because I know we can't post that on here and of course just copy and paste didn't get the picture. I am totally confused now. OK I'm finally starting to catch up! Can't read everything today but I got through a few pages :)
Anybody that has a trip coming up, I say GO have fun and hopefully you will not get sick and if you do, for the sake of someones child, PLEASE stay in your room.
OK, I will step off this soapbox now.
Still so sad that you both got the swine flu! :( I totally agree about the inconsiderate people. There were people blatantly just walking out of bathrooms and not washing their hands, etc. ugh..GROSS!!!!
OMG you guys were there on the day of my bday I think..the 27th?! YES! It was Africa hot...seriously. I couldn't believe how hot it was down there on some days! GEEZ!
These are the only two characters that made it to our table. I asked Dallas if he wanted to wait and see Pooh and Tigger and he said "Naaaaaaah, let's go so somebody else doesn't have to wait like we did".............aweeeeeee. He just earned a souvenir.
Awww... Dallas is awesome :) I totally agree about the character meals though. And no one will ever be happy. People complain that some characters just run by and barely take photos. THOSE are the meals that are on time!! If we waited for Pooh, it would have taken us easily an extra 15-20 minutes. There was a HUGE line of people when we left CP and I'm sure it's because half the restaurant was waiting for Pooh! :confused3
