Great finish to your mini trip report!!! sorry you missed the FW show, though. You are lucky to have the AP's and Sept will be soooo much fun...I so excited for ya'll...:yay:
I love the pics of Niko; it's like looking at our Brownie (except she is a female and very mean or b??????--if you know what I mean--she either loves u or hates u)
Dallas is the man; being a VIP at the Plaza--doesn't get much better than that....

We will try and see the show in September. I really don't think it will be much different.
Niko is mean too. Amanda has been dating Matt for over a year now and he HATES Matt.
We were really surprised with all the attention we got. He was such a nice man. He told us about his vacation to Las Vegas and told us he had been working for Disney for 30 years.

Hey, if you wanna come down for a long weekend, you can always come stay with me!!!! I wouldn't mind really!!! You just wouldn't be able to go back for a mid day break LOL
I loved the last little bit to the saga, those quick trips can sometimes be better then the long ones....and they're usually more relaxed. That's why I like living so close!!
Yes, I'm up at 1, went to sleep shortly after I talked with ya last night, and wide awake at 1...UG!! Too much sleeping yesterday!! HAHA I'm feeling better tho...I'll go update my PTR, so you can check that out! Talk to ya later dude!

That is so sweet of you to offer. Yeah it would be a long drive for a mid day break though.
I think what made it so relaxing is the fact it was just spontaneous, not all the time to build it up to be something it can't possibly meet up to. The first 2 or 3 times I went I was dumb to all of the planning and they were so nice.
Girl, up at 1 am my butt was snoring at that time. I have to get up at 5 am for work so my sleeping pill is really working by then. I will be taking another one here in about 30 minutes.

Hey Dana,
I just now got a chance to read your last update to the short but sweet trip to Disney. As you know, I was off to see Lacey this weekend and it was a great but fast trip.
Your poor boys look so hot in the pictures. But, I'd rather be hot in Disney than hot at home and I know that you guys were of the same frame of mind. Your husband so reminds me of mine. He hates for me to take his picture. He's constantly just rolling his eyes at me while I'm snapping away with the camera. It looks like you are getting the hang of taking the night time photos. I love the Spaceship Earth ones.
How cool was it for the chef to spend so much time with ya'll! Darn tootin' Mr. Dallas should feel special. Now you're making me wonder if I should have made an ADR as The Plaza.

Glad to hear you had a good time with Lacey :thumbsup2. I know you are getting excited about your trip to Disney too.
Dale and Dallas were so tired and hot. I guess you can look in Dallas' eyes when we were waiting for Illuminations and see how tired he was. I don't think I will ever get them into the picture thing. Dale thinks I have enough already :sad2:.
We loved the Plaza. I hate that when we go back in September this chef will be off. I know they will still have a great chef though. The food there is so good. I can't wait to eat there again. I tried to see if there was something we might change so we could eat there twice, but I don't want to change anything.

I have been thinking that maybe I should order Dale and I a cake for our anniversary, but I don't think we would eat it. Since it is only going to be Dale, Dallas and I, I know we couldn't eat a big cake like we had in May. I have been looking at the cakes Publix makes and they have some mini cakes that are so cute I may order one from them and go pick it up. I am not big on sweets, and since we will be on the dining plan, I am just thinking it will be a waste. Sounds like I am trying to talk myself into it, or out of it, doesn't it?.........:lmao: I'm thinking I should do something since it will be our 22nd anniversary.

You should get a little something for the anniversary, even if it is something small. I LOVE publix's cakes, they are awesome. I agree I wouldn't do a disney cake for just the 3 of ya'll, WAY too expensive, but something small from publix would be perfect!!

a cake does not sound like something you really want...
since you are on the dining plan; you will be probably having awesome desserts w/your meals. I've seen pics on both Lisa and Nikki's TR reports that show the prettiest desserts for such an occasion. Good luck with that decision!!!

Dana, There were small cakes (about 6 or 8 inches around) in the food court at the CBR. Some said Happy Birthday and some just had Mickey on it. I remember looking at them and thinking "hey that's not a bad price". But I never did go back and buy one. I wonder if they sell these cakes in all of the food courts. That may be just the right size for ya'll.

Hi Dana, I haven't really been on the boards much at all lately. But I just went through all of your pics from your 4th of July trip, and oh boy it looked hot but FUN!!!! I laughed when I saw your picture of the spitting camel, my kids thought that was so gross, not sure why, I told them it was water but coming out of the camel they just weren't having it. :lmao:

Yeah, looking at the cakes on Publix website they look so good. I think a small cake may be good. I know I don't want to order one from Disney cause they cost so much and we are not going to have a fridge.

The brownie sundae we got at the Plaza was so good and was big enough for both Dale and I. I know last year when we ordered a cake for Amanda and Tyler we didn't eat it.

I think they sell them at all the food courts. I am hungry right now so a cake sounds so good. I started my diet again 2 weeks ago so I guess that is why it sounds so good.

Thanks. It was fun and HOT. I know it will be hot when we go back in September, but not as hot as it was on the 4th. I just love that camel for some reason. I have never been spit on by him, but I have seen other people get it :lmao:. When it is hot that is fine though.

Hi Dana! We did a publix cake last year and it was delish and only about $15. Had it delivered to the resort and they held on to it until we got back that evening. It wasn't much trouble at all and much, much, much better than the cake I ordered at WDW this year for Joe.
Hope you're having a good night. My time on the boards is on again off again because I am super busy with summer, kids, etc. I miss being on here though. As it gets cooler my time will significantly increase.
Good luck with your diet. I'm walking/running 4 miles a day and watching what I eat and no luck still. OT question for the nurse :goodvibes: Can you take phentermine if you only need to lose about 35 lbs? Just curious. Tired of struggling with no results.

Hey girl. I have been MIA for the past couple of days. Dale has been complaining of dizziness and chest pains so I was able to force him to the doctor yesterday. Well, they put him in the hospital and he had a heart cath today. It was normal, but we still don't know what is going on :sad2:. I came home for a little while tonight so I could get a little sleep since I haven't really slept since Tuesday night. July has been a VERY stressful month and I will be so glad when it is over.
So Publix will deliver to a Disney resort? That would be great. I think a small anniversary cake would be nice. I was going to do a signature restaurant, but I just couldn't find a menu that was going to suit Dale and Dallas.
You can take phentermine for 35 lbs. I still had 35 to go when I went back to the doctor two weeks ago. My doctor will not give them to anyone who needs to lose less than 25 lbs. I know how you feel about struggling and working hard and not getting any results. Some people are really lucky and can lose weight by just cutting calories, I am not that person :sad2:.

Thank you Connie. Thank you Lisa. Dale is home now and he hasn't had a dizzy spell since yesterday. The heart cath was normal as was the abdominal ultra sound and all of his blood work. They still don't know what made him have the chest pains nor the dizziness so I hope it doesn't come back. He goes to the sleep lab on August 11th. I am interested to see how many times a night he stops breathing. I know he is going to have to get used to wearing a CPAP, but I think once he realizes how well rested he is he will get use to it faster. We will just have to get Niko use to it............:lmao:.

I put up the countdown calendar today. We are down to 61 days. Dallas wanted to start packing today :lmao:. I told him we have to wait because we are wearing the clothes right now. The time seems to be going so slow, so I guess I should take a deep breath and stop rushing it by.
I guess Disney is not doing so well because I see they extended free dining again. If I could I would go ahead and book another week, but Dale doesn't have anymore vacation time :(. So, I will have to wait and start planning another trip later this year for next year.

I wish like heck that we could go during the free dining dates but I'd have to take Hunter out of school and I don't want to do that since he's starting a new school this year. The way I figure it, I'd save about $1,000.00 if we could do free dining. Oh well.:confused3

I will have to take a picture. We did it different this time. I printed out some Disney pictures and Dallas decorated some of them(till he got tired of it) adn I some of the others. I hung them on my door so they would be in my face most of the time...........:lmao:.
Dallas is a mess. He loves Disney, but he doesn't care for a lot of the rides. I told him he was going to ride some of the stuff this time and he just told me he would stay home then...........:lmao:.
This will be our first time with free dining. Last year we paid for it. I am looking forward to it.

Lookin' forward to seeing the countdown calendar picture(s). Hunter likes to ride pretty much everything with the exception of Tower of Terror (don't blame him at all) and Splash Mountain. Every time we get in line for Rock 'n Roller Coaster, he wants to chicken out when we get to the loading part of it but then rides it and says it was awesome!
You know good and well that Dallas WILL NOT be staying home while you go to Disney. That's sacrilegious.:rotfl2:
I am now at 6 days until we start the drive and 7 days until we actually get to Disney. Of course, you know how I count down the days....you don't count today because it's already here and you don't count the day you leave because, well, it's the day you leave!:lmao:
I'm trying my best to get my trip report finished up before I leave. I still have at least one more Magic Kingdom day installment and then our last half day trip to Hollywood Studios. I have got to get a move on.

I think your countdown calendar is really cute! I can get artsy fartsy but it takes me a while to come up with an idea. Now my sister and my niece on the other hand are incredibly artistic. My sister has written craft books and my niece is an art student in Florida who, at the ripe old age of 22, has already had her art shown in New York and France.

Thanks Lisa. Dallas is still making fun of it :sad1:. Tyler is very good at drawing things, but he doesn't like to get into the Disney stuff so much.....:sad2:. That is fantastic about your niece and your sister. I admire people who can take a blank canvas and paint a beautiful picture. It is an amazing talent.

Dallas is getting to the age that he isn't into helping with projects any more. Target had these little stained glass things where you put the beads in the little metal pattern and then bake it to melt the beads. Well, Dallas HAD to have it so we bought it. I ended up finishing it after he had filled ONE slot....:lmao:.
I miss my kids being young enough to think that helping mom do something was fun. You will have a blast when your kids start helping out.

I had saved all my confirmation emails, but I had changed them so many times I wasn't sure which ones I had kept and which I had cancelled :scared1:. Isn't that sad?:sad2:. So I had to check all of them to see which ones were active. Just to keep up with myself this is the list of real ADRs
The Plaza Saturday Sept 26 at 7 pm
O'hana Sunday Sept 27 at 11:15 am
Crystal Palace Monday Sept 28 at 8:20 am
Grand Floridian Cafe Tues Sept 29 at 5:30 pm
Tusker House Wed Sept 30 at 8:25 am
Le Cellier Thursday Oct 1 at 11:40 am
Sci-Fi Friday Oct 2 at 11:10 am
So now I have to plan our days around this. I also have to decide which day we are doing MNSSHP.

I love your count down calender!! I need to do something like that myself. My DD has this app on her iTouch that keeps our countdown doing but it's hard for me to keep up, she always has it. :rotfl2:
Your ADR's look great!! I am looking forward to that almost as much as the trip it's self. :lmao:We have never been to 'Ohana or Le Cellier so that's going to be a treat for us. ;)
Thank you! I wanted it to be different from our May countdown, but I did expect some help :rolleyes1.
I am looking forward to the food too. Being on a diet gets so hard when planning all the good things to eat at Disney. We really liked Le Cellier so that is the main one I am looking forward too. We have never tried O'hana, Tusker House or The Grand Floridian Cafe. I don't know how Dale and Dallas are going to like O'hana or Tusker House, but I think Mom should get to chose a couple .

girlfriend...I will spare you the cost of Ashton's hosptial visit...thank goodness for BCBS although all these new wonderful new doctors that only work on the hospital floor who only come in to take your vitals (the same as the nurse)and aggravate mom and the best part NONE of them understood what Ashton had; they had no clue what was going on and were trying to order things that were very unnecessary...well off ofthe rant-- BCBS only covers 90/10 of their charges--ugh! and because the genetic lab work was sent to CA --BCBS of LA will not cover it $2500. --now you know why we can't go to the beach:confused3; although I have not started to pay any of the charges except for the hosp copay of $600 + 175 other chgs:eek:...
But, I do appreciate having insurance and this is excellant insurance to have and we do know that...but, we were not expecting the 90/10 for hospital employee phys. and the lab bill....

Update on Dale. We have the sleep study all set up and the doctor also wants to do some more testing. He thinks Dale is pre-diabetic even though his labs showed normal blood sugars during his hospital stay. So Dale has to do a 2 hour glucose tolerance test next Wednesday. I have been telling Dale it could be his sugar dropping making him dizzy and diabetes does run in his family. The doctor explained to Dale that his sleep apnea would cause his weight gain and his weight gain caused his insulin levels to increase(which causes sugar levels to drop) causing him to eat more and making him gain more weight and being overweight contributes to sleep apnea............so it is a vicious cycle. He explained to Dale that the chest pains and headaches could be coming from oxygen deprivation because lack of oxygen in the blood will cause these symptoms.
So, we are very hopeful that within the next 2 1/2 weeks we will have the answer to this puzzle.

Oh! what a cycle...get a little meter I keep one since I was PG and when I feel funny I use it--that way he can see what his triggers are(test your levels when you wake up and two hours after you eat--you can find on the internet and most meters will tell you what your levels should be)...I was telling Leanne that I am pre-diabetic and the only way I lose wt is to cut out the rice, pasta, & white potatoes (but cake and candy in moderation doesn't bother me- ). I'll continue to think about him; that glucose test is not a fun one I've had to do the 5 hr one several times (each time I was pg).

Good luck with that one!! they have wheat pasta, pizza dough, buns,... mom and dad eat all those and even buy this brown rice that is not bad (its not all grainy--Mr. Ben's something like that). Holy cow dude, I've been off the boards for a few days, and now you may know what's wrong? At least it's something not TOO bad....I can understand the diabetes making him dizzy, I had a teller once that was diabetic, and she did the insulin shots, and when she got pregnant, she had to snack like every HOUR, there were times when she was dizzy walking in, cause she hadn't eaten, and fallen to the ground. I will say some prayers for him, and hope they've found the answers. Good luck on the sleep study!!
Chris has been home so I haven't been on much, we're at 40 days today!! WOOHOO he goes back sunday, and I may only get him one more weekend before he leaves on deployment, of course they can't say where/when or anything, super secret, ya know!
But, we're doing okay....for the most part, just waiting our time before the trip. I can't wait, I'm ready to go!! I'm fine after my surgery, no big deal!! My incisions have been itching, but that's normal healing I guess. Tricare got the billing wrong, so we got bills in the mail for almost 20 grand, I was freaking, but it should be alright, we're fully covered! Good luck with Dale, hopefully he knows he's got alot of people praying for him!

I cook wheat pasta already because of my diet and we do buy wheat buns. Now, pizza dough I haven't tried. I make homemade pizza a couple of times a month, but we usually let Pizza Hut or Dominos do the cooking for us...... No Dale will not eat a veggie. I told him he might not have a choice. I sure hope all the sleep studies and lab work help the doctors know for sure what is up. I am also hoping when he starts getting a good nights sleep and get his insulin levels straight he won't be so grumpy. Not too sure that will change........:lmao:.
I know you so enjoy having Chris home. Do you get to communicate with him when he is deployed? One of my nephews was in Dessert Storm and getting letters from home and being able to write us was what kept him sane, or so he says.
I hope they get all your bills straight. I have had to call our insurance coordinator twice already..............grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I have told Dale how many people he has praying for him and he has said he is very grateful. Now if he will only follow the doctors advice because I know Dr Ledet is going to tell him he HAS to lose weight.

Danny is young to have had a hip replacement, bless his heart. I think weight gain has a lot to do with most of Dale's problems. He got real dizzy today while we were at Sam's and then a bad headache. I gave him some Advil and of course I drove home. After we got home he said the HA was gone, but it felt like his eyes and head was sore. I told him it almost sounds like my migraines, except for the dizziness. I checked his blood sugar and it was 88 so that was not it. I just think he has thrown his whole body off by gaining so much weight.
I have to tell this funny story. At 3 am this morning Niko started licking Dale in the face, that is Niko code for "I need to go outside"..........lol. When they came back in Niko got next to me laid on his side with his head on a pillow, yes the dog thinks he is a person. Well, about and hour later I was awakened by LOUD snoring :sad2:. No it wasn't Dale it was NIKO :scared1:. I can't win for losing.........:lmao:.

He goes to the sleep lab Monday and he will have the 2 hour fasting glucose tolerance test on Wednesday morning. I am about to lose my mind with all this mess. Now, Dale is starting to get depressed because somebody told him that using the C-PAP didn't help them. That they were still having the same problems they had before they got the machine.........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I asked Dale if the guy was using his machine all the time and of course Dale didn't bother to ask him that :sad2:. I worry about the depression because his mother has a history of depression.

Dana low blood sugar causes dizziness also...88 is almost too low for the middle of the day or after he has already had a meal w/in a two -three hr period...that can be just as dangerous as High levels...diabetes will cause your suger to go high but it will also cause it to drop...when I was PG and watching what I ate to keep that crazy doctor from giving me meds my sugar kept dropping to 75-66 I would get really dizzy and shakey
and a sugar headache is alot lot migr. I have had both...both leave you feeling like you have a hangover. I hope he feels better soon...
Yes, Danny was way too young for a hip replacement, we have no idea why the ball of the femur started to die except that he has been jumpping off of high cranes and trucks since he was 14. The impact had to wear it out; that is the only thing we could figure he did not ever do steriods or scubba dive two of the main causes. Thank goodness I was working for an orthopod at the time.

I hate my migraines and bless poor Amanda and Tyler's heart, I gave them to them. I have two types, cluster and aura. Amanda got it the worst she has had stroke like symptoms at times because she has hemiplegic and aura types. Tyler hasn't had one in a long time, thank God.

We FINALLY may have the answers :woohoo:. Here is the sleep lab and blood work saga.
Dale was scheduled to be at the sleep lab on Monday evening by 5pm. He had to eat before arriving so I met him at the hospital and we went to McDonald's to eat. I blew my diet really bad by getting one of the new Angus burgers, don't waste your money, it tasted just like a quarter pounder. So anyway after eating we went to the hospital to get him signed in and then we headed to the sleep lab. We waited about 10 minutes and the tech came in and took Dale to his room. It was a nice corner room :lmao:. We got him settled in and I stayed with him for a while. I had to get home because I had to work Tuesday. Monday night was his monitoring night. He called and said they had all the leads on him and it was going to be lights out at 9pm.
Tuesday morning I called him after I got to work. He had seen the doctor and he was told that he stopped breathing 39 times an hour, I was really expecting it to be more. I walked over to the sleep lab around lunch to see him for a little while, but we were busy and it was again time for him to nap. After I got off work at 7pm I went back to the sleep lab and spent a little while there and it was C-PAP night for Dale. I left and came home with the peaceful belief this was all going to be over Wednesday. NOT :scared1::sad2:.
On my way to work Wednesday morning Dale said he had not been able to sleep with the C-PAP because he felt like he was suffocating. He had them take it off him around midnight. You are kidding me right? Nope, they discharged Dale without the doctor so much as saying boo to him :headache::mad:. No C-PAP, no paper work, no NOTHING. I told Dale to go ahead and have the blood work done and we would see what to do about the sleep studies. He came over to the nursery after he left the sleep lab and I tried to make him understand that he would have to complete the study for them to know what settings he needed on the C-PAP. During the course of the blood work we went back to the sleep lab and talked to the doctor. He explained to Dale that he would have to complete the study. He also told Dale that the C-PAP would not kill him, but the apnea would. He told Dale they could give him something to relax him so he wouldn't panic when he woke. I asked the doctor when Dale could complete the study and if he would have to start over. He hemmed and hummed and then said Dale could stay again Wednesday night :woohoo: and he could have a sleeping pill :woohoo:. Dale finished the blood work and went to work. He was back at the sleep lab at 5pm. When I got off at 7:20pm I went over to the sleep lab and they had not even hooked him up to this leads yet :scared1:. OH NO did they not know he was going to finish up? After about 20 minutes the tech came in and took Dale to wire him up..........:rotfl:.
Did he make it?
YES, :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:. He took the sleeping pill and was able to sleep and they got the C-PAP settings complete and he is now the proud owner of a C-PAP machine :rotfl2:. I then had to call the doctor's office and get a Rx for sleeping pills for him, Dr Ledet's nurse Kathy called me back and she and I had a good laugh at Dale's expense......shhhhhhhhhh. She also gave me the results of the blood work......................and.................Dale has metabolic syndrome, which is another way of saying he is on his way to being diabetic. He is insulin resistant. That is why he keeps gaining weight. Metabolic syndrome will also cause sleep apnea. The answer is to put him on glucophage. SOOOOOOOOOOO, I think we may have the answer. Now I have to talk Dale into eating better. The Mediterranean diet is suppose to be very good for controlling metabolic syndrome and I think he would be willing to try it.
I want to say Thank you to everyone who kept us in your thoughts and prayers. God will show us the way if we just let him.

really,,, you have your hands full with the types of food he wants to eat... it is going to be a challenge that is for sure...first thing is finding his trigger; my is all three, rice, potatoes, and pasta...my mom's is mainly rice & pasta, my dad's is actual sugar products.
First question and easiest thing to change is soda's...can no longer have the real thing and really needs to weed them out all together...
I'll be more than happy to let you pick my brain for any help I can offer...
Hope the night went well...Ambien and Danny did not like one another, nightmares and did not find a sound sleep with them ...would sleep for 45 min really sound and than have major nightmares...

You are right it is much better than a Titan logo. I love watching football. I have been a football fan for many many years.
I had to make him put the mask back on when I went to bed last night. He was holding it in his hand while he was SOUND asleep :lmao:. I have told him exactly what you said. I want him AROUND for a long time to come.

I know what you mean Connie. I will change the way I eat to make it better for Dale. I love rich, creamy foods and fried stuff. The Mediterranean diet looks like it will be something Dale can live with. It allows breads, pastas, rice, potatos and nuts. When I go to the grocery store tonight I am going to buy some ground turkey and see how he likes that.
He didn't say anything about the Ambien causing him a problem so I guess it was ok. I take it on the nights before I have to work because I have a hard time staying asleep. Once in a while I will have some strange dreams, but I always have had weird dreams anyway :sad2:.

That is a good idea Connie. I bought two pounds of ground turkey to make tacos with and he got some turkey sausage. I sure hope the sausage is good because if it isn't I will never hear the end of it :rolleyes1. He will eat whole wheat buns so that is what we got. I bought a bunch of fruits so I can make a fruit salad and I also got some veggies to roast. I LOVE roasted veggies.

I love steammed veggies w/ cheese and or a fat free salad dressing (I usually use about 1tbs--just a tiny bit ).
I buy turkey sausage you just have to find the one you like; I can't think of the brand at the moment. I have not bought sausage in a while. Dayne was boiling it in crab boil as soon as I would buy it!
The turkey should not taste any different in the tacos, good choice!!!We love the turkey breast cutlets--they are better than the beef cutlets. I bread them and bake them (not fry). Would also be good browned w/a light gravy.
the fruit I usually prefer to do a smoothie; fruit, frozen coolwhip (fat/sugar free), sm amount of orange juice or milk, sometimes I add flavored yogurt (you have to watch sugar content on this).

smoothies are so easy to make and the variation of the smoothie I started making was on the back of the coolwhip pkg.
about 1/2 cup fruit your choice,
I usually do frozen berries (stawberries, blueberries, rasberriers) a banana sometimes even 1/2 an apple; half cup coolwhip, 1/4 cup liquid and if you want yogurt about 1/2 container usually enough for two large glasses and a small glass!

We do not like patty sausage. We buy the link smoke sausage...you may need to flavor the patty sausage, onion, bellpepper, garlic, pepper or believe it or not maple syrup(but you need the sugar free--and it really is not bad). Good luck! with that one!!! usually if you give me an item I have a reciepe I am cajun you know:laughing: I converted alot of reciepe that I could when I did weight watchers....

FINALLY, I have been trying to post all day and for some reason it would just come up a blank page :sad2:. Anyway, Connie I made a blender full of smoothies this morning and I LOVED it, Dale had already left for work, but when I got Dallas to taste it he gagged :lmao:. I think the problem was he saw me making it and saw me put the banana in the blender. He is not a banana fan.
I am at my wits end with Dale and the C-PAP. He called this afternoon and said he just couldn't use it anymore. You see how brave he was don't you :sad2:. He said he didn't like the idea of having to take a drug just so he could go to bed. He said sleeping was something he use to be able to do without a problem (:scared1: oh yeah?) and now he dreaded going to bed. He has been using the thing for 5 nights for goodness sakes. I guess it is a good thing I didn't cause him a problem within the first 5 dates :lmao:. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cooked the turkey tacos tonight and they turned out great. They went over very good :thumbsup2. At least that is working out :cheer2:.

the first question I have is I didn't think to tell you that you needed wheat tortillia shells corn causes the sugar to surge. (I forgot about that until this morning my mom called to say that her sugar was high and she didn't know why all she ate was soup--corn and potato soup. I laughed only the tomato base and turkey sauage were ok for her). I'm glad to hear that everyone liked it. Next, time make the smoothie w/o the banana and add the banana after.
I'm so sorry to her how he feels about the CPap. Danny said send it over here
maybe he will come around...or you may have to use a little tough love or have Dallas talk to him; coming from a child may help him. Ask him to give the cpap a try w/o the meds, maybe a little everynight until he can make it through the night.
Just suggestions...hope things start to settle and much luck w/the diet. I thought of you when I cooked dinner the kids wanted hot dogs. I always cook my own chili (Danny will not eat out of a can) ground turkey, chili seasoning pkt, can tomato sauce, can of chili seasoned diced tomatoes, 1/2 bell pepper, 1/2 onion, garlic powder, cumin, and turkey hot dogs w/wheat buns. I know hot dogs are not the healthiest food but I feel like I made it a little better.

Thank you Leanne . I hope when we go to the doctor next Wednesday he can make Dale understand about the diet AND the C-PAP. For some reason he won't listen to what I tell him, but if someone else tells him the same thing it is LAW :sad2:. I did a hmmmmmmmm nurse thing to the C-PAP today and it may be just what was needed.
Other than all the frustration, I am doing good. I am planning the trip and wanting the next 40 days to hurry up and pass so we can have all this behind us.

Where can I find the wheat shells. I haven't seen them at Walmart, or maybe I haven't looked good enough. I am proud of him tonight though I made him 4 tacos and he ate them and didn't go for seconds :yay:. I asked him what he ate today and he "said" a bag of peanuts and the sandwich he took for breakfast.
OMG, your chili sounds great. I will continue to buy the ground turkey since it went over so well. Thank you so much Connie, I don't know if I can fool Dallas, but I will continue to make them for me :thumbsup2.

I hope the adjustment helps!!!

The recipes sound great! We buy very little beef, and use lots of ground turkey, chicken, etc to cook. I make meatloaf with the ground turkey, too and meatballs - my very Italian family hasn't figured it out yet!

Oh, how terrible of you. Honestly. Doesn't he get it that he WASN'T sleeping just fine before? :confused3 Just keep being persistant. :sad2:
Funny alligator story, btw! :rotfl: I know at least half a dozen people that I can picture as that old man!
I know I am terrible, but I am serious about it. I DVR'd the morning new because it had a part about sleep apnea. I just want him to do what the doctors tell him he needs to do.
I thought the alligator story was a hoot :lmao:.

I won't give in either. He will sleep with that C-PAP or he will never get any rest anyway.....:lmao: We probably won't do the MNSSHP on that Friday because we will leave early Saturday morning, but we could get together anyway. I think we are going to do DHS that day because we are eating lunch at Sci-Fi. Let me know because it would be fun to get together.

I love a good steak so I do have to have some beef once in a while. I am going to do some roasted veggies and chicken breasts tonight. I may make chicken parmesan, yum. I am glad the ground turkey turned out so good last night because I was worried.

How did Dale do last night? w/ the adjustment?? chicken parmasan sounds good I never make that I might just have to add that to next weeks menu!
and I love a good steak (my dad's is the best--might have to put in a b-day request; along w/some bbq shrimp)! I don't eat steak out(just too expensive) and I almost always order seafood when we are out. As I love seafood but hate the mess frying makes in the house and we really do not need to eat like that on a regular basis.
Have a great Day!

He still fussed about it this morning, but I know for a fact he did much better he didn't try to take it off but one time and I just let him because it was 4:30 and he gets up at 5:00 anyway. I'm like you Connie, I don't order steaks when we eat out either, I will while we are at Disney though. I'm like you, I love seafood, but I hate cleaning up afterwards.
Thanks, I hope you are having a great day too .

I'm sorry it took me so long to get over here and post. Seems like I have been running a million miles an hour since we got back home.
My brother-in-law refuses to wear his c-pap. What a stubborn pig headed fool he is. At least your hubby is giving it a try. I am sure that it will become easier as time passes and he gets adjusted to it.
We all came away from Disney with extra weight...even I did and I don't hardly ever gain weight. We had some really yummy food while we were there.

I have been looking for some shirts for the trip and I found some on Walmart.com on clearance. The two with the bows are more so I will have something more than T-shirts to wear. They may or may not go on the trip but the blue striped will.

I have 6 skorts so I have that part covered, no pun intended :lmao:. I plan on washing one time while we are there so we won't have to pack so much. I want to only have to take two suitcases and the med bags, but I don't know if that is going to happen. Dale won't wear shorts and his jeans take up a lot of room in the suitcase.
I am at 39 days today :dance3: I can't believe it is getting this close. I also made an ADR for Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe and Diamond Horseshoe now I have to decide if we want to pay for them OOP or cancel a couple of ADRs? Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I know you have been busy. I need a vacation when I get home from Disney. Washing clothes, buying groceries, putting everything away........not fun like getting everything ready for Disney.
I don't know what I am going to do about Dale's fussing. I don't know how long he is going to keep trying it. He is driving me crazy with all the complaining. I told him the c-pap could not be nearly as annoying as he is being about it :sad2:.
I worry about gaining weight while we are there. Dale goes back to the Doctor next Wednesday and they are going to start him on glucophage and hopefully it will control his appetite and he will start losing weight. I just hope he is more compliant with that part of his treatment regiment.

I hope the shirts are as cute when I get them as they are in the pictures. I needed something dressier because most of what I have is t-shirt types. I bought a blazer earlier this year so I think the white shirt and a pair of black pants would be good for going out to dinner. Since I have lost so much weight all my old dress clothes are too big. I'm not complaining though :lovestruc.

Thanks Lisa. I am glad to hear that someone has one of the shirts. I always worry about ordering online. I ordered 3 shirts from Old Navy before our May trip and only one of them was good. One was actually so thin you could see right through it and a camisole looked funny under it.

Sorry everybody I have just got to vent about this. Dale was up at 3:30 this morning. He said he could not sleep anymore :sad2:. I told him about the story on the news yesterday stating that having severe sleep apnea(more than 30 episodes in and hour, Dale had 39)increased the chance of an early death by 46% :scared1:. He just brushed me off. I got a call from him, while he was out on sales calls this morning, telling me one of his customers had printed off a news article about the 46% increase. Oh and now he believes it ?:rolleyes1 Why is it that when I say it, it must be wrong, but when someone else says the same exact thing it becomes law? I guess college and 15 years of nursing experience is unimportant, it has to come from a guy who owns a liquor and tobacco store . Then he starts talking about changing the mask type to see if it will work better because someone at the state tax office said they have had their c-pap for 2 years and they use a different mask and that may be what he needs. Now, Roger, the guy who set up Dale's c-pap, told him he had 21 days to exchange the mask and try a different one. I told Dale that Roger has called twice to see how he was doing on the c-pap and when I told Roger THE TRUTH, he said Dale may need to change his mask out and try a different one, I too told Dale this. Well, now Mr. Medical Professionals must be Ignorant, wants to try a different mask since he heard it from someone who isn't a medical professional :sad2:.
I just KNOW the whole changing up his diet idea is going to tank even worse than this c-pap NIGHTMARE I now find myself in............GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Thanks for listening to the rantings of a sleep depraved, losing her mind :upsidedow, getting more angry by the minute , wife.

I so love that and it is so true. Unless of course jail doesn't sound so bad sometimes. At least it gets you away from them for a time. One of my many step dads was deaf in his left ear and everytime mother talked to him he would just turn his head. Then so cutely say "oh, Mary were you talking". Of course she would repeat and once again the head would turn. He was a total hoot.

Dana, I really have to say...I know Dale needs this and once he gets use to it he will probably not be able to sleep without it. But, I don't know if I could sleep with that lesser version much less the one they have on the news. Just don't tell Dale I said that. It will be our secret  I think I would feel like someone was trying to suffocate me; isn't that funny its the opposite.
Oh! well .... I really hope this one works for him and you can finally have some peace...

Ok Dana, Here is my mask. But I don't wear it over my head. It hangs down so I can sleep on my stomach. It is pretty much like Dale's new one.
http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss4/vlpruitt/respironics-optilife-nasal-cradle-m.jpg
I've had it since Feb and I had to get new prongs. The old ones have gotten too soft and let air escape. I couldn't do that full mask. I felt to confined for sure.

OK sorry I have been MIA. I had to work Thursday and Friday and then yesterday was our "outing day" then Amanda and I went shopping. Then :guilty: I must confess I am addicted to Farm town on facebook. So, I am going to try and catch up. I miss all my Dis friends when I am away too long.
Then when you try to whisper and keep something from them they hear every word. :rotfl:
I got more posted on my report so I'm off to read more of yours. I just can't believe I didn't see this. Let's blame it on a senior moment.
My girlfriend is a neo nurse here at one of our hospitals too. They have to work 4 out of 6 weeks on a friday, saturday or sunday. She was on nights but got a day job. She is so excited. Her oldest son graduates this year so now she won't miss all of the activities.
Hey, it isn't a senior moment, it is a "I'm a woman trying to do it all" moment.....lol. At least that is my excuse :rolleyes1.
I love my job. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to take care of such precious angels. I know your friend is excited about day shift. Night shift is horrible on the body. I
I have the nasal prongs too. But not the top piece that goes over my head. It is very lightweight and I really like it. I have to go get new prongs tomorrow. They are getting very soft and don't stay put. Mine is a resmed.
Dale's is a resmed too. Still having the fights about it though :headache:.
C
I have to agree Connie. I am VERY claustrophobic and I don't think I could sleep with something on my face, but shhhhhhhhhhh. When I had to have my thumb re-attached, I woke up from surgery and the first thing I did was pull the oxygen mask off. It is much easier to Preach than to do :guilty:.
Hi Dana! Hope Dale does better with his new mask.
Your vent tickled me because I know EXACTLY what you mean. Joe can be the same exact way. Until his Mom or Dad tells him the same thing it just isn't so. At least Dale is going to try again. Maybe you need to call the guy at the liquor store and get him to tell Dale that he needs to change his diet too. :goodvibes
I enjoyed our talk early Saturday morning!! How did the fair go?
As far as men, I think it must be something in their DNA. Tyler is as bad as Dale about saying I said this and I didn't say that :sad2:. Drives me CRAZY. He has actually lost 17 lbs in 2 weeks :scared1:. How unfair is that?
Leanne,

I though about calling David and telling him that, but he is the kind of person that would tell Dale I called :sad2:.

Congratulations !!! to Dale on the weight loss!!!!
(it is very unfair how men just lose weight and we fight with it) I woke up this morning and decided I need to lose 40#'s...first I need to decide how I'm going to go about it. My first priority is to get off of this computer and out of the house!!! I think I'm going to go and buy some salad and chicken fixings and stay away from what I cook for the family for a week or two and than start major portion control (and very little carbs)!!! I need to do something!!! never been this big in my life!!!
Have a great week!!

P.S. Ashton & I were getting hooked on Farmtown also but I am just not getting the hang of it...it is taking me forever to develop my farm and as I said I need to get off the computer soooo much!!!

Thanks, Connie. It is very unfair how men can drop weight so easy. Dale has cut back, but I have cut OUT foods and he drops weight :sad2:. I am glad he has though I just hope he sticks with it. It really is hard to lose weight when you have to cook for a family, most men don't want salad and baked chicken all that often. I count my calories and I am very strict on myself, but once in a while I do cheat. Every other Saturday we go over the Pensacola and we both love Mexican food, so we eat at a little Mexican place.
In Farmtown you make more money by working for someone else. Go to the market place and climb up on the barrels and ask for work!!!

In 2000, we went to Disney three times. This was back in the days when we stayed offsite (I know...what were we thinking.) and could get a room in Kissimmee really cheap. If I could have worked a fourth trip in that year, I would have.
Every time somebody asks "why do you go to Disney every year" or "don't you get tired of going to Disney" or "haven't you seen everything at Disney already", I just blow them off. I tell them: Yes I am going to Disney. I will never get tired of going to Disney. And, no I haven't seen it all yet."
Back in 1998, when I was planning our first trip to Disney, I didn't know that we'd fall so in love with Walt Disney World. There is, truly, something magical about the place. We have so much fun making family memories and spending quality time with each other.
As far as I am concerned any Disney naysayers can just shove their questions right up their.......oops, I am not being very Disneylike am I?:rotfl:
Anyway, you get my drift.

I remember my first trip in 1986. I was ready to go back again as soon as I got home, but a divorce, a second marriage, two kids, college and then another kid kept me away for 13 years. Now, I am just starting to catch up :lovestruc.

Hey Connie, I am just too stuck on Farm Town it is so much fun though.
Dale had a doctors appointment today and Dr. Ledet gave Dale all the results of his sleep study and glucose tolerance test. During the three nap sessions Dale fell asleep on an average of 2.3 minutes :sad2:. Dr. Ledet said that is almost unheard of :scared1:. Dale's response to me, "Well they told me to go to sleep" :sad2:. I said "yeah, but I don't think too many people can go to sleep ON COMMAND." At one of the naps he fell asleep in less than 60 seconds. Dr. Ledet again reinforced the need for him to use his c-pap and told him with his results he wasn't worried about him developing high blood pressure, because he(Dale) would be dead from a car wreck before that happened. I told him I wouldn't ride in the car with him nor could the kids if he didn't start using the c-pap :sad2::sad1:. The doctor wanted to hold off on giving him any meds for the metabolic syndrome until he goes back in 6 weeks, he wants to see if the diet changes AND consistent use of the c-pap would make a difference. He told Dale if he takes the c-pap off in the middle of the night to not worry about it just be persistent with putting it on when he goes to bed and he will get use to it.
Then when we get home his IDIOT of a brother calls and just reinforces DALE, I swear idiot must be a dominant trait encoded in their DNA. I just pray it didn't pass on to my boys :scared1::eek::sad2::sad1:.
Sorry for the rant and vent :headache:.

I almost forgot. I got MOUSE MAIL TODAY!!!. I also got the $25 gift card from Disney for doing the survey back on our July trip. That will come in handy for the F & W festival along with our snack credits. Dale has been drinking some wine since I have been trying to get him to modify his diet and it will be fun to taste test some of the different wines.
I bought a few new pieces of clothing this past weekend. I bought 2 shirts at Ross and Old Navy had their tees for $3.00 and I got one white and one light blue. Then Amanda and I went to Kohl's and I found a really cute shirt and skort on clearance. So total for 5 shirts and a skort was like $41.00 plus some change. I think I am going to pull the suitcases out tomorrow and start packing some of the stuff we don't need right now.
We leave in exactly ONE MONTH!!!!:yay::woohoo::banana::cheer2:

He actually used it last night :cool1::worship:. He did sleep in the recliner though :sad2:. He said it made it easier to sleep because he didn't feel the urge to turn over so he actually slept with it on for 4 hours :woohoo:. I told him "baby steps dear, baby steps". If we can get him use to wearing it then he can move back to the bed. Dr Ledet explained to Dale that after wearing it for a while the pressure will cause the obstruction to stay open when he sleeps even if he isn't using the machine. He said for a couple of nights the passage would stay open, but then it would go back to being obstructed. SOOOOO if that is true, once Dale is using it a while, he can sleep without it a night or two a week. He also changed Dales sleeping pill to plain Ambien instead of the Ambien CR. I have my fingers crossed, and my toes, legs, arms and eyes :lmao::rotfl2:.
New ideas? That is a nasty concept for Dale, he doesn't even like to watch a movie made after 1993 :lmao:.

Dale scares the living daylights out of me. I was already scared to ride with him now I am TERRIFIED. He has fallen asleep sitting at a red light before :scared1:. I don't like to drive on the Interstate, but if Dale doesn't wear his c-pap I will be doing the driving on this trip. I have to say he really was good last night. I think me telling him none of us were going to ride with him again and that I was going to call his boss and tell him what the doctor said may have pushed it some too. I don't care what I have to say as long as it works :scared1:. Danny probably has the same diagnosis as Dale.

maybe you would get a great answer for this one on the photo boards! they seem to know alot about cameras. just don't get an HP photosmart r937. it would be great if it didn't have ghost balls, gold eyes (which do not correct). Kodak Easy Share cameras are super easy to use and they aren't that expensive. They take good pictures too. Lacey got a new camera in May. It's a something or other Cool Pix. It's easy to operate too.

I agree with the rechargeable batteries. Try to stay away from the cameras that use AA batteries. You'll spend so much money on them! I'm looking for a basic point and shoot camera for my mom too. I really want to spend less than $100 so that would be great. I have a Fujifilm that has rechargeable batteries and they are soooooooooooo good. I can charge them and they stay charged for days. Dallas would love a red camera. I will have to go to Sams and look at their cameras.

My last camera was a Kodak Easy Share and it used batteries up in no time at all. I went thru almost $30 in batteries in '07 using that camera. I will look at the Canon and the Cybershots. I may try to get some type of bundle that has everything with it. I need to look at BestBuy too. I thought about Ebay, but I am scared I wouldn't have it by his birthday.

Shock resistant would be nice for him, but I just don't want to spend much. I may have to look into it for me though ;). Have you been to the doctor about your balance? Could it possibly be inner ear problems?

So, I'm going to watch and see. But by the way. My ears have felt clogged all spring. I assumed it was allergy. Maybe I should go see my PCP. Whom I haven't seen in 2 years.
I do always fall from the left side first and that is the foot I broke in 85 and I do have a slight foot drop and absolutely no flexion in the ankle. That might be part of it too. I don't know what they could do with it. One would think after working for docs for the past 37 years I would know who to call.

As far as your foot, physical therapy might help. It may have been too long ago, the tendons and ligaments have most likely shorted. I think working in the medical profession makes us less likely to seek care......:lmao:

We make really bad patients. I am going to see my PCP and have my ears checked. And yes it has been so long ago and it broke my tibia/fibula just above the ankle so all that stuff at the joint fused together and there was nothing more they could do with it, That is why I can't vacuum (darn) or push grocery carts. I can't push off with the left.
I sure am a case aren't I?
Good luck on the camera situation.

I'm glad you are getting your ears checked out :thumbsup2. I am a horrible patient, I am a big ole scaredy cat. I HATE needles. Isn't that strange coming from a nurse :lmao:.
You are a very good case .

Oh good, I'm anxious to see what one you get him. I think he will like that. You always want to get them things that interest them at that age. That is the only way they figure out what the really like.
My problem with Doc's is the waiting. My PCP never keeps me more than 5 min in the waiting room. I was his first patient back in 72 when he moved to town. His secretary was my best friend. He was a divorced man with 5 kids. About 10 years ago he married his secretary. She had never married before. I care for both of them.

I have to concede and say Dale is being a good boy. He has been wearing his c-pap for the last three nights with very little grumbling. I told him this morning I was very proud of him. I just hope he keeps it up :thumbsup2.
We talked last night about which vehicle to take on the trip and we may be taking our Expedition. When we went in May we rented a van because nobody likes to ride in the back seat, in July we took our Mazda 3, it is just such a small car it gets uncomfortable at times. I went on AAA last night and calculated the gas mileage and it will only cost $60 more round trip to take the bigger vehicle. I am leaning toward it since it gives us so much more room.
I think I have decided to get Dallas the Kodak camera bundle they have at Walmart. It is a point and shoot and has 8.2 mega pixels, it comes with a charger and batteries so that would be great. The price is around $85 so it won't be a disaster if he decides he doesn't like taking pix or keeping up with a camera. Now I have to decide if I am going to bake him a cake or buy one........:sad2:.

Good choice on the car. More room is better for a long trip.
I'm so glad Dale is doing better. I hope he finds the nasal mask less confining than the over the nose one. And you have the freedom to roll over. That is what I missed the most. Everytime I moved I had to wake up enough to re-adjust. I rarely wake up anymore at night. I will admit when we go away for a couple of days I don't take it. My friend does but I get buy a night or two just fine. Always glad to get back to it tho.
I think you made a good choice on the camera. No reason to spend lots till you know if he even likes it. I would have to buy. My cake baking skills lack. Cookies ok but cakes not so much.

Good choice on the car and congrats to Dale! :)
For the camera bundle make sure it comes with a memory card. I've seen some that dont come with it and then when you take it home it won't hold any photos b/c it's a very required piece of the camera...hahahahaha!
Walmart has some nice bundles and prices. I've been looking there too. B&H Photo also has some really good prices and bundles. That's where I get most of my camera equipment and they're a reputable company that's based in NYC. :) Defintiely check there too!

Hi Dana! I'm soooo happy to hear that Dale is cooperating. I hope he keeps it up. Can't wait to see Dallas' birthday cake! You know I love to look at cakes. My first digital was a Kodak and I was very pleased. I hope Dallas has a great b-day!
I have a sweet 16 cake to do this week. The girl wants:
Top layer: Solid Yellow with purple vertical pin stripes;
Middle Layer: Solid Electric Blue with with a checkered design which would be Lime Green;
Bottom Layer: Solid Pink with Orange polka dots.
This one is going to be wild. :upsidedow
I hope you're having a great weekend!!!

Dana,
Give our man Dale a big old pat on the back for me. Tell him I'm proud as can be.
I think you'll like the Kodak camera bundle. Like you said, it doesn't cost oodles and oodles of money so if something happens to it, you won't be too upset.
I thought about you today when I was at J.C. Penney. They had some really cute skorts on sale for just $6.00. I almost bought one for myself.

That is the kind of doctor you like to go to. You get in and get out and since you know him it is easier to trust what he says. That is a sweet story about your friend and the doctor. I don't think I could be married to a doctor though, I have seen too much :scared1:.

Yeah, I think the bigger car would be much better. I even thought about renting one, but I don't want to waste the money when we have perfectly good cars at home. The one thing I like about renting is it saves wear and tear on our cars.
Dale has been sleeping in the recliner. He said it just seems like he is smothering when he lays down and has the c-pap on. I am just glad he is doing better with it. We will work our way back to the bed and laying down with it on eventually :thumbsup2.
I think Dallas is going to be so surprised with it he won't care what kind it is :rotfl:. I can bake cakes and cookies, but I am just not the best at decorating them.
Good choice on the car and congrats to Dale! :)

Thanks girl, I am cautiously optimistic about our success . I know at any time he could go the other way and say he isn't going to wear it anymore.
I think the Expedition has won the contest:thumbsup2.
You are right, I have been checking to see if they come with the SD card, the first digital camera I had was really cool, but it came with a mini SD and I just didn't like that. I would have to use the usb cable to upload pictures and that was just a hassle. I will have to check out B&H, thanks for the tip.

Can you say stubborn, mule, hard head? :lmao:. Dale has just about put me over the edge :upsidedow. My cake will NOT look anything like what you do . Maybe when I first turn them out of the pan, but that would be as far as it goes. I love your cakes, they are all so pretty. One of these days I am going to be that photographer and cake decorator I have always wanted to be. I would seriously love to do that.

I will do that.
I am going to see if I can find the camera in red, yeah of course I have to complicate things, but he loves red. He will be excited to be able to take pictures at Disney, though I expect poor Niko will be an unwilling model most of the time :rotfl2:.
I wonder if my J.C. Penney has those skorts on sale. I need to run over to the mall after I get off work and see. I really don't need anymore though, but a couple more wouldn't hurt :rolleyes1.

Hey! Dana
Happy to hear you made your choice on the camera. I had purchased that for Gwendolyn one year for Christmas (she brought it back and swapped it for the one she has now---she is still sorry to this day that she did!). I think I agree with the vehicle choice (since it is not that much of a $$$ difference).
I buy cakes! I made Gwendolyn Bday cake for a party once; it tasted great looked awful. Now, if I bake just to have it it always comes out beautiful:rotfl2:
AND WAY TO GO DALE!!!!:cheer2: what about a wedge for the bed. My MIL has one for FIL so she can change his position and help him to have the feeling of sitting. She got it from a medical supply shop.
Have a great day and rest of the weekend!

I think it will be the best camera. One of my co-workers accidentally left her Fuji camera here at work this morning and it is nice. More than I want to spend though. I usually buy a cake too, I was thinking about trying out some of the cool looking cakes of the family fun page. My luck it will turn out really funky looking..........:rolleyes1.
I like the idea of taking the bigger car too because Dallas can watch movies on the DVD player and he has a lot more leg room.
I didn't think about a wedge that is a very good idea . Thanks Connie. I have several errands to run tomorrow so I will just stop in at the medical supply store and pick one up for him :thumbsup2.

I saw the pirate hat and it looks like it would be easy. I think it would be fun to kinda have a pirate theme going. I can find some cute stuff at Dollar Tree that goes with it. Yesterday was a very busy day!!! As I had previously posted I had a lot to do. I got all of my errands ran and my doctor visit made oh and the mmmmmmmogram done. I hate those things. Anyway, Dallas wanted tacos for his birthday dinner so we had tacos (turkey) with all the fixings. I make homemade salsa because Tyler doesn't like store bought. It is yummy if I say so myself. Dallas' birthday isn't really until tomorrow, but I have to work Thursday, Dale has a late day on today and Amanda has a late Wednesday at school so we had to do it all 2 days early. I decided to buy a cake because I was running late yesterday afternoon and I didn't have time to bake one..........I know.........bad Mama :sad2:. So here is the cake
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b130/racefanof88/DSCF3600.jpg
I didn't expect much, but it is a really good cake. I could only eat a very small piece, but it was very moist and the fudge icing was YUMMY.
I can't believe I was able to keep his gift a surprise. Just a little history on his gift.............last month his DS stopped working and he was all sad and pouty soooooooooooo we went and bought him a new one :guilty:. I told him it was going to be his birthday present so not to look for anything else.....so back to yesterday................Here he is with his new camera

OK another update on Dale and the c-pap.......he hasn't been wearing it right and yesterday he said he just can't wear it........:scared1::sad2:. I have decided to just let it go, I am tired of us fighting about it. I just hope he realizes the implications. He is 47 years old and I can't force him to do something he doesn't want to do. I am thinking he will decide on his own to wear it, you know kinda like it was his idea :confused3.
So tomorrow Dallas will be 11 and I will feel older, but thankful that I am blessed.

Dana,
I see absolutely nothing wrong with a bought birthday cake. I've been watching the Food Network Cake Challenge and I told John that I could go for some birthday cake right now. I guess I'll have to make due with a picture of a birthday cake.
I'm glad that you were able to surprise Dallas with his new camera. I'm sure he loved it.
Speaking of cameras, did you ever find a tripod? They had them at our local Dollar Tree today. I couldn't find our's before we left for Disney so I picked up one and an extra one just in case.
I'll be keeping Dale in my prayers. You are right not to push it. He'll probably come around and see that he really needs to wear the CPAP.

I was really busy yesterday and I am glad it will be another year before I have to do that again. The cake is good I am so tempted to go get a piece right now :lmao:. Thanks about the picture. I was trying out a tripod I bought.
I taped Dale sleeping and how loud he snores and it didn't make an impression so it will take something else to make him realize he needs to wear it :confused3. Oh well, it was at least much more pleasant with out the arguing :cloud9:.

I want a piece of that cake right now so bad, but I am being good. He loves that camera. It actually has a few features mine doesn't. I did find the tripod yesterday, but I got one that was a dud. It wouldn't hold my camera up and one of the legs fell off :lmao:. I threw it away today, I think I am going to get the one I saw at Walmart yesterday for like $10.
Thank you Lisa for keeping Dale in your prayers. I pray every day that he will come to his senses and realize he needs the thing.

:woohoo::woohoo:24 days:woohoo::woohoo:
I can't believe we are this close. I didn't think it would EVER get down to weeks instead of months. I got the suitcases out today and started packing. I have Dallas almost totally packed, except for undies that is. I have a few of my things and Dale's bathing suit. I have the med bags already done and our cleaning stuff packed. Since we are on the DDP I don't think I am going to get a whole bunch of snacks to take. I will get a few so we can have something to eat on the way down.
I have to work the next couple of days so I won't get anything else done until the weekend. I am worried about leaving Niko with Tyler while we are gone because Tyler likes to sleep until 4pm and I can't imagine the mess my house will be when we get home :scared1:. Dale doesn't want to take Niko because he doesn't want to leave him at the kennel for a week. I told him at least at the kennel we would know he is getting fed and taken out because we would be doing it...........:lmao:.
Just an OT update. I got my results from my "test" Monday..........it was normal :woohoo:. When I left Monday the tech said I would hear in about 2 weeks, I hated that it was going to take that long. Now that is off my mind and I don't have to worry anymore :goodvibes.

MIL takes care of our pets so we know they are well taken care of:thumbsup2...I don't think Gwendolyn or Dayne would do a great job!:headache:
But, I think giving Tyler a chance might surprise you!
Have a great evening and hope your work week goes quick! so you are even closer to disney party:

First of all, go give Dallas a big ole' Happy Birthday hug for me! Turned the big 11!
Second, I meant to ask this before but how in the world do you look all put together and fresh in all your pictures? By the time I get ready for work, drop off Hunter at school and get to work, I already look like I've been up and slaving away for hours. I gotta know your secret.
Third, I can't believe that you are now just 24 days away from your Disney trip. Now, is that counting today and the day you leave? Because if it is, you know you can subtract those two days from your total. That's my way of counting down days.
I always pack too many snacks for our trips. But, I would rather be prepared and have that little something if we wanted it.
I know you're worried about Niko but you know he'll be taken care of. I'd personally rather leave my dog with my mother rather than in a kennel. But, then again, my mother spoils my dog just like we do so I know he's okay.
Hip hooray for the good test results. It's always great to hear those kind of results!

Thanks Ginny. He is so excited about the camera. He can't wait to get to Disney and take pictures. I figure we can have two different perspectives now. He has had a really good day. His request for breakfast was chocolate chip pancakes, got em :thumbsup2, hot dogs for lunch, got em :thumbsup2 and spaghetti for dinner, got it too :thumbsup2...........:lmao:

Tyler has incentive to take good care of Niko..........$100. We told him we would rather give the money to him than to the kennel so I hope that will be all it takes. Tyler really is a good kid, he is just WAY too laid back.
I hope this week goes by fast too. I'm having a good evening, just got to work the next two days so I'm trying to get every thing done. Hope yours is going good too.

Dallas said "Thanks", then he asked me "how does all of your friends know it's my birthday?"...:rotfl2:.
Thank you Lisa, but if you could see me right now you would laugh. I have spaghetti sauce on my shirt, no make-up on and my hair in a ponytail .
I don't count the day I leave, but I do count today. We are leaving on the 26th. But I guess since today is really almost over it is more like 23 days :banana:. I am getting excited. I changed our Sci-Fi ADR to Mama Melrose because I have always wanted to eat there.
I hope Tyler does what he is suppose to. Dale will be calling him frequently I can assure you....:rotfl:.
I am so glad that test is over with for a year. I hate having it done.

You are under a week now :woohoo:. I will be following you on facebook so keep us updated. I am off this weekend so hopefully I can catch back up on everybodies reports.

I'm so glad the party went well and everyone made it home safe :thumbsup2. I swear I need to get something from my doctor to help with my anxiety when we are traveling. I get so stressed about it I dread getting in the car :sad2:.

I'm glad mine did. She has become a beautiful woman, in looks and spirit and that makes a mom proud for sure. (just in case you didn't know). Enjoy your weekend off. I know I will. I ordered my MNSSHP tickets tonight. We will be going on September 29th. I am so excited. I know how much fun we had at the Pirate and Princess party and I know this will be more fun. We are 19 days and 6 hours away from leaving .
I had to say that first. I am still trying to recover from Thursday and Friday at work. We were sooooooooooooooo busy at work Friday. It turned into a very crazy day. We had 3 inductions scheduled, but it didn't quite turn out that way. At 11am we had an emergency C-section for a baby with supra-ventricular tachycardia, we transferred him to the University hospital, then we had a c-section for a mom with hypertension and diabetes, then a repeat c-section in labor, none of this was scheduled. Not to mention a repeat c-section added to the schedule. Then at shift change the L and D nurses ran into the nursery with a baby that was so blue he was black and that put 5 babies in our special care nursery. Needless to say we were whipped.
So on a more Disney note, we are getting excited about the trip. Dale has decided he wants to take the Mazda 3 since it is newer than the Expedition. We had a very bad experience with a car on one of our trips.
We went to our local Flea Market yesterday. It is a large Market and we like to go there when the weather is getting cooler. Dale found a place that makes shirts and he got him and Dallas a t-shirt with a on the back and it says "Thats my dog" :sad2:. He is so crazy about that dog.

Dana, if it makes you feel better. My girlsl didn't think I was the best mom when they were early to mid teens. This relationship did not begin with Sheri until Austin came along. She then said she knew just exactly what being a mom was all about and the sacrifices that are made. It certainly made a turnaround in her life. When Sandi was around 15 I really couldl have sent her far away for about 10 years and wouldn't have cared. But by the time she was 18 she decided to move out and try life on her own. She had a good job and her truck was paid for. By the time she was 22 she moved back home cause it was cheaper. We did pretty good once she married but again not really close till they got Alex. I feel so blessed that we do like each other. Not just the parent/child relationship but really like them. It will come, it's just an aging process on their part.

Good on the tickets. I think the 50's theme will be great for the two of you.
With just the 3 of you I would think you will be fine in the smaller car. It's not like a 21 hour drive like it is for us. Good luck. Your time is just closer and closer.

I have a pretty good relationship with Amanda, it is Tyler who is being hard. I pray about it and I know he will come around and see that I am not the mean old witch of the south and all I have been saying to him has been for his own good.
I like being busy at work, but I like it to be steady not CRAZY. I do love it when I get to send my babies home. Once in a while I worry about how the baby will fair when they get home with the parents :scared1:.

I'm sorry that you had a bad day at work. It always seems like it comes in spurts......super busy one day and then slow the next. I'd rather have stedy days of work instead.

Dale, just needs blue jeans and a white t-shirt; that he way he is not dressed in costume but fits the theme!
the car won't be bad and Dallas will be alone in the backseat so it should not be a bad fit...and Niko won't be taking up all his space:laughing:
so far so good with my kids:goodvibes

well don't eat is all I say and she makes the comment I can't wait till the house is finished:confused3
they stay in her dark room w/a small desk lamp to read her school work and he sits on the computer ALL day for two days now! I would be soooooo depressed!
and Dayne says he is pulling a trailor on the last acre in the back of the property -- so I guess we will never get rid of him:rotfl2:

I hope tomorrow at work is better. I am sure all the deliveries they would have done today will be scheduled for tomorrow. I am hoping some of the babies who were in special care are now in regular nursery. I am like you Lisa, I don't mind a steady day where I feel like I got something accomplished. Overly busy and I feel like I am cheating my parents and babies because I don't have the time to do teaching.
I can't believe I am now in the teens :woohoo:. I feel better knowing I have my MNSSHP tickets purchased now too. I like going to the flea market. I have been to the one we have here in Mobile and then to one in Gulf Breeze, Fl. The one in Gulf Breeze is small.
I hope you are having a great Labor Day too :thumbsup2.

I'm glad you have heard from you sister, well sort of. I would mess a shirt up pretty good if I had to do the iron ons. I remember when I was in 8th grade I made a t-shirt with my name on the back........and the "N" was lower than the rest of the letters. I can't wait to see the toes. I want to do a mouse head on mine but I can't find a nail pen.

I'm really blessed that my kids are good too, Tyler is just frustrating at times. The boy would argue with a tree stump :rotfl2:. He does the same thing as Gwendolyn, he stays in his room on the computer all the time. I call him Herman The Hermit, he didn't have a clue who I was talking about the first time I called him that :rolleyes1. Boy that really made me feel old.
I told Dale the kids could live with us forever if they wanted to. He even made the comment one time that when we retire it will be me, him, Tyler and Dallas traveling around in our travel trailer :lmao:.

I would let my kids, in laws and grandkids all live with me in an instant. I actually would like it if they would. Of course my house would be a bit bigger. No one gets my room. I have a feeling one of these days we won't be able to all go together on a vacay. I'm not sure how I will handle that situation.

I would so do that. And no one would have to work. We can just be together.

I now know why we have all become fast internet/disboard friends......we all think alike. My mother lives on 1 acre and we live on the adjoining 2 acres. We, literally, share a driveway. If I won the lottery, my kids would be even more spoiled rotten than they are!:rolleyes1 My mother would have a new van and I'd pay for her Alaska cruise. My sisters wouldn't have a care in the world because I'd pay off all their bills. Hum.....I don't think I'd move my brother-in-law next to me because he's just a grump but I could always use the excuse that he already lives just 2 miles from me.:lmao:

We won't need insurance. We will be well forever cause we won't have any stresses. Hey, this is my magic world. Might as well have it like I want it. It's like living in la la land. Of which I do everyday as you all know.

Me too Connie. I think I would take the lump sum for any lottery I won so I would have a large amount of money at one time to do what I needed and wanted to do.
I would so do that. And no one would have to work. We can just be together.
That would be nice, but I think I would go crazy sitting around the house for too long.

Yeah I would want to keep health insurance for sure :thumbsup2.

It would be my family, NOT Dale's. There is NO way I could live with anyone of "them".

Nice to see you back on here. How are the plans coming for the wedding? I know you are super busy trying to plan the wedding and homeschooling too.
Thanks, Pam. I am hoping it stays dry while we are there. I think the temp will be fine, it has started cooling off here and we usually run about the same here as in Orlando.

Hi Dana! You know me...I'm slow to respond lately. :rolleyes1 Dallas' cake looks so yummy. I love the candles. :goodvibes Happy Belated Birthday to our man Dallas!! Lindsey loves her DS too. She would be pouty if something happened to it.
I hope work is more steady now and thanks so much for voting for the girls in the Disney princess contest. I know I can count on my DIS BFF's.

mentioned on the lottery you are leaving Dale's fly out.... that is why I want to buy ALOT of land...like about 100 acres; so NO ONE is on top of one another but we would all be close to one another...I have really thought this out:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:(can you tell) and I would have a community pool and gaming area; but, I would have my own small pool also:rotfl2:

Agreed. One big pool and community area so we can be together and then one for 'home' too. I think we would want to see each other once in a while.
Somebody please play the lottery so we can win.:rotfl2:

Well, the cake was OK. It wasn't the best I've ever had and it wasn't the worst. I thought it was cute. It was chocolate on chocolate like Dallas likes so that made it a winner :thumbsup2. I did like the candles too. Thank you for the birthday wish, Dallas asked " Did Lindsey say it?" :lmao:. Boys :rolleyes1. That DS gets on my nerves sooo bad.
Work has been better this week, thank goodness 'cause I have to work this weekend..........lol. You know I would vote for your girls anyway cause I think they are both beautiful.

I can't believe we are this close :cool1:. I really need this vacation. I plan on having a blast. I think we are gonna go 50's.
Well, the good thing is, Dale wouldn't want his family next to us either........lol. He has always been the black sheep of the family so he isn't that close to them anyway. I have always been close to my family. Most of my nieces and nephews are close to my age so we are more like brothers and sisters. I have been trying to plan a family reunion so if anybody has ideas I would love to hear them. I am the youngest of 8 (yes a good Catholic family......lol) so everything seems to fall in my lap.
I'm really getting excited because Dallas is. He is excited about the MNSSHP because he has never been. We went to the PP party and we loved it. I think this is going to be fun because we can just take it easy. I am looking forward to eating at GFC it may not be good but it will be fun to try it.

I am really getting excited now . Two weeks and we will be there. We are planning on leaving at 4am again, but I am hoping we can leave a little earlier. It would be great to be up and on the road by 3. Dallas and I could nap in the car and then I could relieve Dale and let him nap a while. If we leave at 3 it will give us time to stop along the way and get some breakfast and go to Walmart and buy our cokes and water for the room. We decided to take some Irish Spring soap because I just don't feel clean using the soap they leave. We started taking shampoo a long time ago because we don't like the shampoo either. I keep watching the countdown calendar shrinking and that is a very good feeling :cloud9:.
