I'm on the basic dining plan, but want more restaurants than my TS credits will allow. So if you had 6 TS credits, which of the following restaurant(s) would you pay for and why?

CRT breakfast
Hoop de Doo
Sci Fi dinner
Chef Mickey dinner
Crystal Palace dinner
Le Cellier or Chef de France (one or other) dinner

thanks!

The best thing to do would be to look at the menus and see which will cost less. I think it would end up being Scifi, but it depends on what your family likes for food.

Don't forget but CRT and Hoop de Doo both take 2 meal credits. They are the ones I would pay out of pocket for.

I knew that two were 2 TS's, that's why I'm having a hard time deciding what to pay. I think if I pay for CRT, then I'm fine, but should I be paying for something else instead?

Pay for the CRT Breakfast out of pocket. It is the least expensive of your 2 credit meals and on a per credit basis the lowest value per credit.

CRT breakfast. Like the PP said, it is the lowest value-per-credit of the meals you have listed, and paying for that one meal OOP will leave enough credits to cover all the rest.

i would pay oop for ctr and hoop - 2 credits each price it over paying cash for it.

and with hoop i prefer the location of the t/s so i would pay oop but request the cat 2 section

I think the sci -fi dinner would be the cheapest. I would use the more expensive ones for ts credits.

As other have said, CRT has the lowest value per credit, but if your goal is to spend less cash overall, it makes more sense to use 2 credits for it and pay oop for Sci-Fi, as it is the cheapest menu. That is what I am doing on my upcoming trip. On a previous trip, I did the opposite and paid oop for the Poly Luau and Narcoossees, due to the value per credit. On this trip, I'm just trying to lower the amount of overall cash I spend while I'm there.

This is what I did. I makes sense to see if you would have an appetizer or not. Would have a dessert or not. Sort of look at what your group would eat or not. That should help. It helped me.:upsidedow

Except if she pays OOP for Sci-Fi, she'll need to pay OOP for one other meal as well. She has 8 credits worth of meals planned and only 6 credits to use. Any two of the 1 credit meals would add up to more cash OOP than paying for CRT breakfast.

I would pay for CRT. I don't think it's worth two credits.

We did something similar last year. We stay for 14 days (which is an incredible deal with the free dining plan!), but last year I think we had 17 table service meals scheduled and a couple of those were 2 credits. I looked up the menus for all of the restaurants and determined which ones were the worst value to use our credits on, and those were the meals we paid out of pocket for.

If you have kids, keep in mind that the best ones to pay out of pocket for may be different for the adults and the kids. (That was the case for us.) You can pay out of pocket for the kids and use credits for the adults at some and use credits for the kids and pay out of pocket for adults at others.

CRT (for adults) was about the worst value to use credits on, so that was one where we paid for ours out of pocket. It was a good deal for the kids, though. Breakfasts and lunches are generally not the best utilization of the credits either.

Another thing you can do to reduce the number of credits you use is to share meals. If you have 4 people, order 3 meals and share them. If you do that a few times, you can have another meal.
