I am a bit shaken up having just nearly hit a deer on the way to work this morning :sad1:

It ran straight across the road in front of me and I had to brake hard but, just as I accelerated again, it ran back out and stopped right in front of my car. I don't think I actually hit it and it ran off again but I'm pretty shaken (and I imagine the poor deer doesn't feel much better) :sad2:

Why are animals so stupid :confused3

That happened to us a few months back, 3 ran out across the road, it was pitch black so we only saw them at the last second, missed the last one across by about an inch.

Glad your ok

Apparantly road accidents involving deer have been on the increase in the past few years.

I'm glad to hear you're OK.

So glad that you are OK, I bet it was a bit of a shock, I remember a deer running out in front of me in Scotland about 4 years ago, it frightened me, *** it ran in front of me and then back again from where it had come, living in London it really is not the norm for me, the most I usually contend with are cats and dogs although did have a rat run in front of me about 3 weeks ago!!

Joh, I know how you feel!! We live in an area where theres a lot of deer and last year one jumped out about a foot in front of my car! Luckily it jumped straight out of the way again as I wouldn't have had time to stop. My Mums friend had one land on the roof of a hired minibus she had a while ago- Actually on top of roof....

I hope you're feeling better now.

I came on the same road to work this morning (took a different route yesterday) and, I must admit, when I got to the same point I did slow down a bit and was on the lookout. I'm fine, though - thanks for all your concern
